1 1Kor 13, 1 If I were to speak in the language of men, or of Angels, yet not have charity, I would be like a clanging bell or a crashing cymbal. 2 1Kor 13, 2 And if I have prophecy, and learn every mystery, and obtain all knowledge, and possess all faith, so that I could move mountains, yet not have charity, then I am nothing. 3 1Kor 13, 3 And if I distribute all my goods in order to feed the poor, and if I hand over my body to be burned, yet not have charity, it offers me nothing. 4 1Kor 13, 4 Charity is patient, is kind. Charity does not envy, does not act wrongly, is not inflated. 5 1Kor 13, 5 Charity is not ambitious, does not seek for itself, is not provoked to anger, devises no evil. 6 1Kor 13, 6 Charity does not rejoice over iniquity, but rejoices in truth. 7 1Kor 13, 7 Charity suffers all, believes all, hopes all, endures all. 8 1Kor 13, 8 Charity is never torn away, even if prophecies pass away, or languages cease, or knowledge is destroyed. 9 1Kor 13, 9 For we know only in part, and we prophesy only in part. 10 1Kor 13, 10 But when the perfect arrives, the imperfect passes away. 11 1Kor 13, 11 When I was a child, I spoke like a child, I understood like a child, I thought like a child. But when I became a man, I put aside the things of a child. 12 1Kor 13, 12 Now we see through a glass darkly. But then we shall see face to face. Now I know in part, but then I shall know, even as I am known. 13 1Kor 13, 13 But for now, these three continue: faith, hope, and charity. And the greatest of these is charity.

Verš 12
Now we see through a glass darkly. But then we shall see face to face. Now I know in part, but then I shall know, even as I am known.
2Kor 3:18 - Yet truly, all of us, as we gaze upon the unveiled glory of the face of the Lord, are transfigured into the same image, from one glory to another. And this is done by the Spirit of the Lord.
Verš 2
And if I have prophecy, and learn every mystery, and obtain all knowledge, and possess all faith, so that I could move mountains, yet not have charity, then I am nothing.
Mt 7:22 - Many will say to me in that day, ‘Lord, Lord, did we not prophesy in your name, and cast out demons in your name, and perform many powerful deeds in your name?’
Rim 12:7 - or ministry, in ministering; or he who teaches, in doctrine;
Mt 17:20 - But this kind is not cast out, except through prayer and fasting.”
Mt 21:21 - And Jesus responded to them by saying: “Amen I say to you, if you have faith and do not hesitate, not only shall you do this, concerning the fig tree, but even if you would say to this mountain, ‘Take and cast yourself into the sea,’ it shall be done.
Mk 11:23 - Amen I say to you, that whoever will say to this mountain, ‘Be taken up and cast into the sea,’ and who will not have hesitated in his heart, but will have believed: then whatever he has said be done, it shall be done for him.
Lk 17:6 - But the Lord said: “If you have faith like a grain of mustard seed, you may say to this mulberry tree, ‘Be uprooted, and 608 be transplanted into the sea.’ And it would obey you.
Verš 4
Charity is patient, is kind. Charity does not envy, does not act wrongly, is not inflated.
Prís 10:12 - Hatred rises up from disputes. And charity covers all offenses.
1Pt 4:8 - But, before all things, have a constant mutual charity among yourselves. For love covers a multitude of sins.
Verš 5
Charity is not ambitious, does not seek for itself, is not provoked to anger, devises no evil.
1Kor 10:24 - Let no one seek for himself, but for others.
Flp 2:4 - Let each of you not consider anything to be your own, but rather to belong to others.
Verš 6
Charity does not rejoice over iniquity, but rejoices in truth.
2Jn 1:4 - I was very glad because I discovered some of your sons walking in the truth, just as we received the commandment from the Father.
1Kor 13,1 - V prvých časoch Cirkvi kresťania dostávali mimoriadne dary Ducha Svätého, nazývané charizmy. Apoštol dáva normy, ako poznať pravosť chariziem (vv. 1–3), ich pôvod a cieľ (vv. 4–30), a vyzdvihuje superioritu lásky nad všetky dary (hl. 13).
1Kor 13,4-6 - Ide zrejme o tri božské osoby – Duch, Pán (Ježiš), Boh (Otec) – a ich prejavy v duchovných daroch.
Vysvetľovali to tí, čo mali dar "vysvetľovať jazyky".
1Kor 13,12 - Táto náuka Cirkvi ako o Kristovom mystickom tele (porov. Sk 9, 5) je jeden zo základných stĺpov pavlovskej teológie.
