1 (UKJV) There is therefore now no condemnation to them which are in Christ Jesus, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit. (o. pneuma)
1 (ROH) A tak teraz už nieto nijakého odsúdenia tým, ktorí sú v Kristu Ježišovi, ktorí nechodia podľa tela, ale podľa Ducha.
2 (UKJV) For the law of the Spirit (o. pneuma) of life in Christ Jesus has made me free from the law of sin and death.
2 (ROH) Lebo zákon Ducha života v Kristu Ježišovi ma oslobodil od zákona hriechu a smrti.
3 (UKJV) For what the law could not do, in that it was weak through the flesh, God sending his own Son in the likeness of sinful flesh, and for sin, condemned sin in the flesh:
3 (ROH) Lebo to, čo bolo nemožné zákonu, nakoľko bol slabý skrze telo, to vykonal Bôh pošlúc svojeho Syna v podobnosti tela hriechu a príčinou hriechu a odsúdil hriech v tele,
4 (UKJV) That the righteousness of the law might be fulfilled in us, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit. (o. pneuma)
4 (ROH) aby bolo naplnené právo zákona v nás, ktorí nechodíme podľa tela, ale podľa Ducha.
5 (UKJV) "For they that are after the flesh do mind the things of the flesh; but they that are after the Spirit (o. pneuma) the things of the Spirit. (o. pneuma) "
5 (ROH) Lebo tí, ktorí sú podľa tela, myslia na veci tela, a tí, ktorí sú podľa Ducha, na veci Ducha.
6 (UKJV) "In order to be carnally minded is death; but to be spiritually (o. pneuma) minded is life and peace. "
6 (ROH) Lebo myseľ tela je smrť, ale myseľ Ducha je život a pokoj,
7 (UKJV) Because the carnal mind is enmity against God: for it is not subject to the law of God, neither indeed can be.
7 (ROH) pretože myseľ tela je nepriateľstvom naproti Bohu, lebo sa nepodriaďuje zákonu Božiemu, lebo sa ani nemôže podriadiť.
8 (UKJV) So then they that are in the flesh cannot please God.
8 (ROH) A tí, ktorí sú v tele, nemôžu sa ľúbiť Bohu;
9 (UKJV) But all of you are not in the flesh, but in the Spirit, (o. pneuma) if so be that the Spirit (o. pneuma) of God dwell in you. Now if any man have not the Spirit (o. pneuma) of Christ, he is none of his.
9 (ROH) ale vy nie ste v tele, ale v duchu, akže Duch Boží prebýva vo vás. Ale ak niekto nemá Ducha Kristovho, ten neni jeho.
10 (UKJV) "And if Christ be in you, the body is dead because of sin; but the Spirit (o. pneuma) is life because of righteousness. "
10 (ROH) Ale ak je Kristus vo vás, vtedy je síce telo mŕtve pre hriech, ale duch je život pre spravedlivosť.
11 (UKJV) But if the Spirit (o. pneuma) of him that raised up Jesus from the dead dwell in you, he that raised up Christ from the dead shall also retore life in your mortal bodies by his Spirit (o. pneuma) that dwells in you.
11 (ROH) A jestli Duch toho, ktorý vzkriesil Ježiša z mŕtvych, prebýva vo vás, tak tedy ten, ktorý vzkriesil Krista Ježiša z mŕtvych, oživí aj vaše smrteľné telá skrze svojho Ducha, ktorý prebýva vo vás.
12 (UKJV) Therefore, brethren, we are debtors, not to the flesh, to live after the flesh.
12 (ROH) A tak tedy, bratia, dlžníci sme nie telu, aby sme žili podľa tela.
13 (UKJV) For if all of you live after the flesh, all of you shall die: but if all of you through the Spirit (o. pneuma) do mortify the deeds of the body, all of you shall live.
13 (ROH) Lebo ak žijete podľa tela, zomriete; ale ak Duchom mŕtvite skutky tela, budete žiť.
14 (UKJV) For as many as are led by the Spirit (o. pneuma) of God, they are the sons of God.
14 (ROH) Lebo všetci, ktorí sú vedení Duchom Božím, tí sú synmi Božími.
15 (UKJV) "For all of you have not received the spirit (o. pneuma) of bondage again to fear; but all of you have received the Spirit (o. pneuma) of adoption, whereby we cry, Abba, Father. "
15 (ROH) Lebo ste nevzali ducha služby, aby ste sa zase báli, ale ste vzali ducha synovstva, v ktorom voláme: Abba, Otče!
16 (UKJV) The Spirit (o. pneuma) itself bears witness with our spirit, (o. pneuma) that we are the children of God:
16 (ROH) Sám ten Duch spolu svedčí s naším duchom, že sme deťmi Božími.
17 (UKJV) "And if children, then heirs; heirs of God, and joint-heirs with Christ; if so be that we suffer with him, that we may be also glorified together. "
17 (ROH) A jestli deťmi, tedy aj dedičmi, dedičmi Božími a spoludedičmi Kristovými; akže spolu trpíme, aby sme aj spolu boli oslávení.
18 (UKJV) For I reckon that the sufferings of this present time are not worthy to be compared with the glory which shall be revealed in us.
18 (ROH) Lebo tak súdim, že utrpenia terajšieho času nie sú hodny, aby boly prirovnané k budúcej sláve, ktorá má byť zjavená na nás.
19 (UKJV) For the earn expectation of the creature waits for the manifestation of the sons of God.
19 (ROH) Lebo túžobné vyzeranie stvorenstva očakáva zjavenie synov Božích.
20 (UKJV) For the creature was made subject to vanity, not willingly, but by reason of him who has subjected the same in hope,
20 (ROH) Lebo stvorenstvo je podriadené márnosti, a nepodriadilo sa dobrovoľne, ale pre toho, ktorý ho podriadil,
21 (UKJV) Because the creature itself also shall be delivered from the bondage of corruption into the glorious liberty of the children of God.
21 (ROH) v nádeji, že aj samo stvorenstvo bude oslobodené od služby porušenia v slobodu slávy detí Božích.
22 (UKJV) For we know that the whole creation groans and labors in pain together until now.
22 (ROH) Lebo vieme, že celé stvorenstvo spolu vzdychá a spolu bolestí jako v pôrode až doteraz.
23 (UKJV) And not only they, but ourselves also, which have the first-fruits of the Spirit, (o. pneuma) even we ourselves groan within ourselves, waiting for the adoption, to know, the redemption of our body.
23 (ROH) No, nie len to, ale aj sami, majúc prvotinu Ducha, aj my sami vzdycháme v sebe, očakávajúc synovstvo, vykúpenie svojeho tela.
24 (UKJV) For we are saved by hope: but hope that is seen is not hope: for what a man sees, why does he yet hope for?
24 (ROH) Lebo sme spasení v nádeji. Ale nádej, ktorá sa vidí, nie je nádejou, lebo na to, čo niekto vidí, prečo by sa na to aj nadejal?
25 (UKJV) But if we hope for that we see not, then do we with patience wait for it.
25 (ROH) Ale ak sa nadejeme na to, čoho nevidíme, vtedy očakávame v trpezlivosti.
26 (UKJV) Likewise the Spirit (o. pneuma) also helps our infirmities: for we know not what we should pray for as we ought: but the Spirit (o. pneuma) itself makes intercession for us with groanings which cannot be uttered.
26 (ROH) A tak podobne i Duch spolu pomáha našim slabostiam. Lebo toho, čo by sme sa mali modliť, ako sa patrí, nevieme: ale sám Duch sa prihovára za nás nevysloviteľnými vzdychaniami.
27 (UKJV) And he that searches the hearts knows what is the mind of the Spirit, (o. pneuma) because he makes intercession for the saints according to the will of God.
27 (ROH) A ten, ktorý zpytuje srdcia, vie, čo je myseľ Ducha, že sa podľa Boha prihovára za svätých.
28 (UKJV) And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose.
28 (ROH) A vieme, že tým, ktorí milujú Boha, všetko spolu pôsobí na dobré, tým, ktorí sú povolaní podľa preduloženia.
29 (UKJV) For whom he did foreknow, he also did predestinate to be conformed to the image of his Son, that he might be the firstborn among many brethren.
29 (ROH) Lebo ktorých predzvedel, tých aj predurčil za súpodobných obrazu svojho Syna, aby on bol prvorodeným medzi mnohými bratmi.
30 (UKJV) Moreover whom he did predestinate, them he also called: and whom he called, them he also justified: and whom he justified, them he also glorified.
30 (ROH) A ktorých predurčil, tých aj povolal, a ktorých povolal, tých aj ospravedlnil, a ktorých ospravedlnil, tých aj oslávil.
31 (UKJV) What shall we then say to these things? If God be for us, who can be against us?
31 (ROH) Čo tedy povieme na to? Ak je Bôh za nás, kto proti nám?!
32 (UKJV) He that spared not his own Son, but delivered him up for us all, how shall he not with him also freely give us all things?
32 (ROH) Ktorý to neušetril vlastného Syna, ale ho ta dal za nás za všetkých, ako by nám s ním potom i všetkého nedaroval!?
33 (UKJV) Who shall lay any thing to the charge of God's elect? It is God that justifies.
33 (ROH) Kto bude žalovať na vyvolených Božích? Bôh je, ktorý ospravedlňuje.
34 (UKJV) Who is he that condemns? It is Christ that died, yea rather, that has risen again, who is even at the right hand of God, who also makes intercession for us.
34 (ROH) Kde kto odsúdi? Kristus Ježiš je, ktorý zomrel, a viacej, ktorý aj vstal z mŕtvych, ktorý aj je po pravici Božej, ktorý sa aj prihovára za nás.
35 (UKJV) Who shall separate us from the love (o. agape) of Christ? shall tribulation, or distress, or persecution, or famine, or nakedness, or peril, or sword?
35 (ROH) Kto nás odlúči od lásky Kristovej? Či súženie alebo úzkosť alebo prenasledovanie alebo hlad alebo nahota alebo nebezpečenstvo alebo meč?
36 (UKJV) "As it is written, For your sake we are killed all the day long; we are accounted as sheep for the slaughter. "
36 (ROH) Ako je napísané: Pre teba sme usmrcovaní celý deň; považovaní sme za ovce na zabitie.
37 (UKJV) Nay, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him that loved us.
37 (ROH) Ale v tom vo všetkom statne víťazíme skrze toho, ktorý nás zamiloval.
38 (UKJV) For I am persuaded, that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor powers, nor things present, nor things to come,
38 (ROH) Lebo som presvedčený, že ani smrť ani život ani anjeli ani vrchnosti ani moci ani prítomné ani budúce veci
39 (UKJV) Nor height, nor depth, nor any other creature, shall be able to separate us from the love (o. agape) of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.
39 (ROH) ani vysokosť ani hlbokosť ani niktoré iné stvorenie nebude môcť odlúčiť nás od lásky Božej, ktorá je v Kristu Ježišovi, našom Pánovi.

Verš 32
He that spared not his own Son, but delivered him up for us all, how shall he not with him also freely give us all things?
Gn 22:12 - And he said, Lay not your hand upon the lad, neither do you any thing unto him: for now I know that you fear God, seeing you have not withheld your son, your only son from me.
Iz 53:5 - "But he was wounded for our transgressions, he was bruised for our iniquities: the chastisement of our peace was upon him; and with his stripes we are healed. "

Who shall lay any thing to the charge of God's elect? It is God that justifies.

For the law of the Spirit (o. pneuma) of life in Christ Jesus has made me free from the law of sin and death.
Jn 8:36 - If the Son therefore shall make you free, all of you shall be free indeed.
Rim 6:18 - Being then made free from sin, all of you became the servants of righteousness.
Rim 6:22 - But now being made free from sin, and become servants to God, all of you have your fruit unto holiness, and the end everlasting life.
Gal 5:1 - Stand fast therefore in the liberty wherewith Christ has made us free, and be not entangled again with the yoke of bondage.

Sk 13:39 - And by him all that believe are justified from all things, from which all of you could not be justified by the law of Moses.

1Kor 2:14 - But the natural man receives not the things of the Spirit (o. pneuma) of God: for they are foolishness unto him: neither can he know them, because they are spiritually discerned.

But all of you are not in the flesh, but in the Spirit, (o. pneuma) if so be that the Spirit (o. pneuma) of God dwell in you. Now if any man have not the Spirit (o. pneuma) of Christ, he is none of his.
1Kor 3:16 - Know all of you not that all of you are the temple of God, and that the Spirit (o. pneuma) of God dwells in you?

But if the Spirit (o. pneuma) of him that raised up Jesus from the dead dwell in you, he that raised up Christ from the dead shall also retore life in your mortal bodies by his Spirit (o. pneuma) that dwells in you.
Rim 6:4 - Therefore we are buried with him by baptism into death: that like Christ was raised up from the dead by the glory of the Father, even so we also should walk in newness of life.
1Kor 6:14 - And God has both raised up the Lord, and will also raise up us by his own power.

Who is he that condemns? It is Christ that died, yea rather, that has risen again, who is even at the right hand of God, who also makes intercession for us.

The Spirit (o. pneuma) itself bears witness with our spirit, (o. pneuma) that we are the children of God:

2Kor 4:10 - Always bearing about in the body the dying of the Lord Jesus, that the life also of Jesus might be made manifest in our body.
2Kor 4:17 - "For our light affliction, which is but for a moment, works for us a far more exceeding and eternal weight of glory; "
Flp 3:20 - "For our conversation is in heaven; from whence also we look for the Saviour, the Lord Jesus Christ: "
1Pt 4:13 - "But rejoice, inasmuch as all of you are partakers of Christ's sufferings; that, when his glory shall be revealed, all of you may be glad also with exceeding joy. "
1Jn 3:1 - Behold, what manner of love (o. agape) the Father has bestowed upon us, that we should be called the sons of God: therefore the world knows us not, because it knew him not.
Verš 23
And not only they, but ourselves also, which have the first-fruits of the Spirit, (o. pneuma) even we ourselves groan within ourselves, waiting for the adoption, to know, the redemption of our body.
Lk 21:28 - "And when these things begin to come to pass, then look up, and lift up your heads; for your redemption draws nigh. "

Likewise the Spirit (o. pneuma) also helps our infirmities: for we know not what we should pray for as we ought: but the Spirit (o. pneuma) itself makes intercession for us with groanings which cannot be uttered.
Mt 20:22 - But Jesus answered and said, All of you know not what all of you ask. Are all of you able to drink of the cup that I shall drink of, and to be baptized with the baptism that I am baptized with? They say unto him, We are able.
Jak 4:3 - All of you ask, and receive not, because all of you ask amiss, that all of you may consume it upon your lusts.

For whom he did foreknow, he also did predestinate to be conformed to the image of his Son, that he might be the firstborn among many brethren.
Kol 1:18 - " And he is the head of the body, the church: who is the beginning, the firstborn from the dead; that in all things he might have the preeminence. "
Verš 31
What shall we then say to these things? If God be for us, who can be against us?
Nm 14:8 - "If the LORD delight in us, then he will bring us into this land, and give it us; a land which flows with milk and honey. "
Rim 8,9 - Kto je na základe krstu spojený s Kristom, v tom zvláštnym spôsobom prebýva Duch Svätý. Kto však ťažkým previnením toto spojenie preruší, stratí tým dôvernú blízkosť Božieho Ducha, ktorý je Duch Otca a Syna (Boží Duch, Kristov Duch označuje jednu a tú istú osobu Najsvätejšej Trojice). "Vy nežijete telesne, ale duchovne," t. j. nie v stave, v ktorom panuje zlá žiadostivosť, ale v stave, v ktorom panuje Duch svojou milosťou.
Rim 8,10 - Telo odumrelo hriechu mystickou smrťou pri krste (6,6). Iný výklad: Telo má v sebe zárodok smrti vzhľadom na hriech. "Duch je život", t. j. duša žije životom milosti a má v sebe silu večného života.
Rim 8,14 - Keď ovládame svoje telesné žiadosti pod vedením Ducha Svätého, sme Božie deti a Kristovi bratia.
Rim 8,15-16 - Otroka donucuje k dobru len strach pred trestom. Aj Starý zákon bol trocha v duchu tohto strachu, aspoň v tom zmysle, že nútil Izraelitov k dobrému životu trestmi. V Novom zákone sme sa stali milosťou Ducha Svätého Božími deťmi a Všemohúceho môžeme vo svätej dôvere volať: Otec (hebr. Abba). Preto máme plniť Božiu vôľu z lásky k Otcovi, nielen zo strachu pred trestom. Duch Svätý v nás vzbudzuje nežný vzťah k Otcovi, a tak potvrdzuje, že Boh nás skutočne prijal za svoje deti.
Rim 8,19-23 - Prvotným hriechom bola narušená aj celá príroda a až doteraz trpí a vzdychá pod ťarchou hriechu. Hriešny človek ju zneužíva na zlé ciele a tak ju hanobí. V budúcej sláve aj jej sa prinavráti hodnosť, ktorú jej určil Stvoriteľ.
Rim 8,23 - Adoptívne synovstvo je už získané, no očakávame plnosť jeho účinkov: "vykúpenie tela" čiže slávne vzkriesenie (1 Kor 15, 45–49).
Rim 8,24 - Ako Božie synovstvo (v. 15. 23) aj naša spása je realita získaná už v tomto živote, ale očakávame jej dokonalé uskutočnenie.
Rim 8,28-29 - Syntéza Božieho plánu spásy. Podobnosť obrazu nie je vonkajšia: v krste je začiatok našej premeny v Kristovi, ktorá sa rozvíja až do konca čias (porov. 2 Kor 3, 18; 1 Kor 15, 49).
Rim 8,31-39 - Krásny hymnus na Božiu lásku napĺňa nás hlbokou dôverou.
Rim 8,32 - Ohlas na obetu Izáka (Gn 22, 16).
Rim 8,36 - Ž 44, 23.
Rim 8,38 - "Anjeli, kniežatstvá, mocnosti" sa tu pravdepodobne rozumejú zlí duchovia (podobne 1 Kor 15, 24; Ef 6, 12).
