1 (KJV) I commend unto you Phebe our sister, which is a servant of the church which is at Cenchrea:
1 (B21) Doporučuji vám naši sestru Fébé, služebnici církve v Kenchrejích.

2 (KJV) That ye receive her in the Lord, as becometh saints, and that ye assist her in whatsoever business she hath need of you: for she hath been a succourer of many, and of myself also.

17 (KJV) Now I beseech you, brethren, mark them which cause divisions and offences contrary to the doctrine which ye have learned; and avoid them.
17 (B21) Prosím vás, bratři, dávejte si pozor na ty, kdo působí roztržky a kladou překážky učení, které jste poznali. Vyhýbejte se jim!

18 (KJV) For they that are such serve not our Lord Jesus Christ, but their own belly; and by good words and fair speeches deceive the hearts of the simple.
18 (B21) Takoví lidé neslouží Kristu, našemu Pánu, ale svému břichu. Jde jim jen o to, aby svými lahodnými řečmi a pochlebováním oklamali srdce bezelstných.

19 (KJV) For your obedience is come abroad unto all men. I am glad therefore on your behalf: but yet I would have you wise unto that which is good, and simple concerning evil.
19 (B21) O vaší oddanosti se ale ví všude! Mám z vás proto radost, ale přeji si, abyste byli moudří, pokud jde o dobro, a nevinní, pokud jde o zlo.

20 (KJV) And the God of peace shall bruise Satan under your feet shortly. The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with you. Amen.
20 (B21) Bůh pokoje už brzy rozdrtí satana pod vašima nohama. Milost našeho Pána Ježíše s vámi.

21 (KJV) Timotheus my workfellow, and Lucius, and Jason, and Sosipater, my kinsmen, salute you.
21 (B21) Pozdravuje vás můj spolupracovník Timoteus a moji krajané Lukios, Jáson a Sozipater.

22 (KJV) I Tertius, who wrote this epistle, salute you in the Lord.

23 (KJV) Gaius mine host, and of the whole church, saluteth you. Erastus the chamberlain of the city saluteth you, and Quartus a brother.
23 (B21) [24] Pozdravuje vás Gaius, hostitel můj i celé církve. Pozdravuje vás městský pokladník Erastus a bratr Kvartus.

24 (KJV) The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with you all. Amen.
25 (B21) Tomu, který má moc vás posílit podle mého evangelia a kázání Ježíše Krista, podle zjevení tajemství, které bylo po věčné časy skryto,

25 (KJV) Now to him that is of power to stablish you according to my gospel, and the preaching of Jesus Christ, according to the revelation of the mystery, which was kept secret since the world began,
26 (B21) ale nyní je zjeveno, a podle nařízení věčného Boha je skrze prorocká Písma oznámeno všem národům k poslušnosti víry -

26 (KJV) But now is made manifest, and by the scriptures of the prophets, according to the commandment of the everlasting God, made known to all nations for the obedience of faith:
27 (B21) jedinému moudrému Bohu buď sláva skrze Ježíše Krista navěky! Amen.

27 (KJV) To God only wise, be glory through Jesus Christ for ever. Amen.

Greet Priscilla and Aquila my helpers in Christ Jesus:
Sk 18:2 - And found a certain Jew named Aquila, born in Pontus, lately come from Italy, with his wife Priscilla; (because that Claudius had commanded all Jews to depart from Rome:) and came unto them.
Sk 18:26 - And he began to speak boldly in the synagogue: whom when Aquila and Priscilla had heard, they took him unto them, and expounded unto him the way of God more perfectly.

Salute one another with an holy kiss. The churches of Christ salute you.
1Kor 16:20 - All the brethren greet you. Greet ye one another with an holy kiss.
2Kor 13:12 - Greet one another with an holy kiss.
1Sol 5:26 - Greet all the brethren with an holy kiss.
1Pt 5:14 - Greet ye one another with a kiss of charity. Peace be with you all that are in Christ Jesus. Amen.

Verš 17
Now I beseech you, brethren, mark them which cause divisions and offences contrary to the doctrine which ye have learned; and avoid them.
Kol 2:8 - Beware lest any man spoil you through philosophy and vain deceit, after the tradition of men, after the rudiments of the world, and not after Christ.
Tít 3:10 - A man that is an heretick after the first and second admonition reject;
2Jn 1:10 - If there come any unto you, and bring not this doctrine, receive him not into your house, neither bid him God speed:

Gaius mine host, and of the whole church, saluteth you. Erastus the chamberlain of the city saluteth you, and Quartus a brother.
Sk 19:22 - So he sent into Macedonia two of them that ministered unto him, Timotheus and Erastus; but he himself stayed in Asia for a season.
2Tim 4:20 - Erastus abode at Corinth: but Trophimus have I left at Miletum sick.

Now to him that is of power to stablish you according to my gospel, and the preaching of Jesus Christ, according to the revelation of the mystery, which was kept secret since the world began,
Ef 3:20 - Now unto him that is able to do exceeding abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that worketh in us,
Ef 1:9 - Having made known unto us the mystery of his will, according to his good pleasure which he hath purposed in himself:
Ef 3:9 - And to make all men see what is the fellowship of the mystery, which from the beginning of the world hath been hid in God, who created all things by Jesus Christ:
Kol 1:26 - Even the mystery which hath been hid from ages and from generations, but now is made manifest to his saints:
2Tim 1:10 - But is now made manifest by the appearing of our Saviour Jesus Christ, who hath abolished death, and hath brought life and immortality to light through the gospel:

Rim 16,1 - Féba bola v službách lásky (porov. 1 Tim 3, 11) v kenchrejskej cirkvi. Nepochybne ona niesla rímskym kresťanom tento list. Kenchry – korintský východný prístav.

Rim 16,3 - Priska a Akvila, manželia. Pozri Sk 18, 1–4. 18. 26. Boli to kresťania z Ríma, ktorí spolupracovali s Pavlom v Korinte a v Efeze. V rokoch 49–50 cisár Klaudius vyhnal Židov z Ríma, a tak sa aj mnohí židokresťania dostali do Grécka a Malej Ázie.

Rim 16,5 - Epainetos, prvotina Ázie v Kristovi, t. j. ktorý pravdepodobne ako prvý v Ázii uveril v Krista.

Rim 16,7 - Andronikus a Juniáš sa tu nazývajú apoštolmi v širšom zmysle. Azda boli ozajstní pokrvní apoštola Pavla, teda nielen súkmeňovci.Podľa povesti sa Andronikus stal biskupom v Sirmiu v Panónii (je to dnešný Srijem). Biskupstvo v Srijeme bolo založené v 4. storočí, ale po dobytí a spustošení Avarmi roku 582 zaniklo. A pretože v 9. storočí obnovil pápež túto metropolu pre sv. Metoda (so sídlom na Velehrade), prvý moravský arcibiskup sa v cirkevnoslovanskej literatúre označuje ako Andronikov nástupca. Dnes je biskupstvo v Djakove.

Rim 16,13 - Nie je vylúčené, že Rúfus bol synom Šimona z Cyrény, o ktorom je reč v Mk 15, 21. Rúfusova matka sa matersky starala aj o Pavla.

Rim 16,16 - "Svätý bozk" – porov. 1 Kor 16, 20; 2 Kor 13, 12; 1 Sol 5, 26. Pobozkanie zvyčajné u ľudí Východu sa stalo u kresťanov výrazom bratskej lásky a prešlo i do bohoslužieb (osculum pacis – bozk pokoja). "Všetky cirkvi", t. j. cirkevné obce, spoločenstvá. Táto formulácia, nezvyklá u Pavla, poukazuje na úctu, akou bola obklopená rímska cirkev.

Rim 16,17 - Ide tu o židovčiacich kazateľov, ktorí znepokojovali pohanokresťanov najmä tým, že aj pre nich zdôrazňovali nevyhnutnosť Mojžišovho zákona.

Rim 16,21 - Pozdravy niektorých Pavlových spolupracovníkov.

Rim 16,22 - Milá je vložka Tercia, ktorý písal tento list a nepremeškal príležitosť, aby sám za svoju osobu pozdravil rímskych bratov. Pavol zvyčajne listy diktoval pisárom. Niekedy pridal sám pár slov vlastnou rukou (2 Sol 3, 17 a inde).

Rim 16,23 - Gájus – pozri 1 Kor 1, 14. Pavol býval v Korinte uňho.

Rim 16,24 - Tento verš v starej Vulgáte znie: "Milosť nášho Pána Ježiša nech je s vami. Amen." Neovulgáta ho vynecháva, lebo sa nenachádza v mnohých rukopisoch. Je opakovaním v. 20. V Neovulgáte je v. 23 rozdelený aj na v. 24 od slov: "Pozdravuje vás Erastus …"

Rim 16,25-27 - Slávnostný záver zodpovedá úvodnému pozdravu (1,1–7).
