1 (KJV) We then that are strong ought to bear the infirmities of the weak, and not to please ourselves.
1 (B21) My silní musíme nést slabosti těch, kdo silní nejsou. Nemějme ohled jen sami na sebe,
2 (KJV) Let every one of us please his neighbour for his good to edification.
2 (B21) ale každý se snažme vyhovět bližnímu. Usilujme o prospěch a posílení druhých.
3 (KJV) For even Christ pleased not himself; but, as it is written, The reproaches of them that reproached thee fell on me.
3 (B21) Vždyť ani Kristus nebral ohled sám na sebe; naopak, je psáno: "Urážky těch, kdo uráží tebe, na mě dopadly."
4 (KJV) For whatsoever things were written aforetime were written for our learning, that we through patience and comfort of the scriptures might have hope.
4 (B21) Všechno, co bylo v minulosti zapsáno, bylo zapsáno pro naše poučení, abychom díky vytrvalosti a povzbuzení, které je v Písmu, měli naději.
5 (KJV) Now the God of patience and consolation grant you to be likeminded one toward another according to Christ Jesus:
5 (B21) Kéž vám Bůh trpělivosti a útěchy daruje vzájemnou svornost ve shodě s Kristem Ježíšem,
6 (KJV) That ye may with one mind and one mouth glorify God, even the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ.
6 (B21) tak abyste svorně a jednomyslně oslavovali Boha a Otce našeho Pána Ježíše Krista.
7 (KJV) Wherefore receive ye one another, as Christ also received us to the glory of God.
7 (B21) Přijímejte se tedy navzájem, jako Kristus přijal vás do Boží slávy.
8 (KJV) Now I say that Jesus Christ was a minister of the circumcision for the truth of God, to confirm the promises made unto the fathers:
8 (B21) Říkám vám, že Kristus se pro Boží věrnost stal služebníkem Židů, aby potvrdil zaslíbení daná otcům
9 (KJV) And that the Gentiles might glorify God for his mercy; as it is written, For this cause I will confess to thee among the Gentiles, and sing unto thy name.
9 (B21) a aby i pohané slavili Boha za jeho milosrdenství. Jak je psáno: "Budu tě vyznávat mezi národy, tvé jméno písní oslavím."
10 (KJV) And again he saith, Rejoice, ye Gentiles, with his people.
10 (B21) A jinde Písmo říká: "Jásejte, národy, tak jako jeho lid!"
11 (KJV) And again, Praise the Lord, all ye Gentiles; and laud him, all ye people.
11 (B21) A ještě jinde: "Chvalte Hospodina, všechny národy, ať ho všichni lidé velebí!"
12 (KJV) And again, Esaias saith, There shall be a root of Jesse, and he that shall rise to reign over the Gentiles; in him shall the Gentiles trust.
12 (B21) A jinde Izaiáš říká: "Vypučí výhonek Jišajův, vztyčí se, aby vládl národům. Národy se na něj s nadějí spolehnou."
13 (KJV) Now the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing, that ye may abound in hope, through the power of the Holy Ghost.
13 (B21) Kéž vás tedy Bůh naděje naplní veškerou radostí a pokojem ve víře, tak aby vaše naděje rostla mocí Ducha svatého stále víc a víc.
14 (KJV) And I myself also am persuaded of you, my brethren, that ye also are full of goodness, filled with all knowledge, able also to admonish one another.
14 (B21) Mám o vás jistotu, bratři moji, že jste plni dobroty, máte hojnost veškerého poznání a sami se dokážete napomínat navzájem.
15 (KJV) Nevertheless, brethren, I have written the more boldly unto you in some sort, as putting you in mind, because of the grace that is given to me of God,
15 (B21) Přesto jsem se vám osmělil v dopise připomenout některé věci jako ten, komu Bůh udělil milost
16 (KJV) That I should be the minister of Jesus Christ to the Gentiles, ministering the gospel of God, that the offering up of the Gentiles might be acceptable, being sanctified by the Holy Ghost.
16 (B21) být služebníkem Krista Ježíše mezi pohany. Smyslem mé kněžské služby při Božím evangeliu je, aby Bůh přijal pohany jako libou oběť, posvěcenou Duchem svatým.
17 (KJV) I have therefore whereof I may glory through Jesus Christ in those things which pertain to God.
17 (B21) Pokud jde o službu Bohu, mám se v Kristu Ježíši čím chlubit.
18 (KJV) For I will not dare to speak of any of those things which Christ hath not wrought by me, to make the Gentiles obedient, by word and deed,
18 (B21) Neodvážil bych se něco říkat, kdyby to skrze mě Kristus také nekonal k přivedení pohanů k poslušnosti slovem i skutkem,
19 (KJV) Through mighty signs and wonders, by the power of the Spirit of God; so that from Jerusalem, and round about unto Illyricum, I have fully preached the gospel of Christ.
19 (B21) v moci divů a zázraků, v moci Božího Ducha, takže jsem od Jeruzaléma až po Illyrii vše kolem dokola naplnil Kristovým evangeliem.
20 (KJV) Yea, so have I strived to preach the gospel, not where Christ was named, lest I should build upon another man's foundation:
20 (B21) Šlo mi o to, kázat evangelium tam, kde o Kristu ještě neslyšeli, abych nestavěl na cizím základě.
21 (KJV) But as it is written, To whom he was not spoken of, they shall see: and they that have not heard shall understand.
21 (B21) Jak je psáno: "Ti, kterým nebyl ohlášen, jej spatří, ti, kdo nikdy neslyšeli, pochopí."
22 (KJV) For which cause also I have been much hindered from coming to you.
22 (B21) To vše mi dlouho bránilo přijít k vám.
23 (KJV) But now having no more place in these parts, and having a great desire these many years to come unto you;
23 (B21) Teď už ale v těchto krajích nemám místo, a protože vás už mnoho let toužím navštívit,
24 (KJV) Whensoever I take my journey into Spain, I will come to you: for I trust to see you in my journey, and to be brought on my way thitherward by you, if first I be somewhat filled with your company.
24 (B21) rád bych to udělal cestou do Španěl. Pevně doufám, že se s vámi setkám a že mě vypravíte na další cestu; především se ale těším na chvíle s vámi.
25 (KJV) But now I go unto Jerusalem to minister unto the saints.
25 (B21) Teď ovšem cestuji do Jeruzaléma, abych posloužil svatým.
26 (KJV) For it hath pleased them of Macedonia and Achaia to make a certain contribution for the poor saints which are at Jerusalem.
26 (B21) Církve v Makedonii a Řecku se totiž rozhodly uspořádat sbírku pro chudé, kteří jsou mezi svatými v Jeruzalémě.
27 (KJV) It hath pleased them verily; and their debtors they are. For if the Gentiles have been made partakers of their spiritual things, their duty is also to minister unto them in carnal things.
27 (B21) Rozhodli se sami, zároveň však i proto, že jsou jejich dlužníky. Když jako pohané získali podíl na jejich duchovních věcech, musí jim zase pomoci hmotně.
28 (KJV) When therefore I have performed this, and have sealed to them this fruit, I will come by you into Spain.
28 (B21) Jakmile ten úkol splním a předám jim výtěžek sbírky, vypravím se přes vás do Španěl.
29 (KJV) And I am sure that, when I come unto you, I shall come in the fulness of the blessing of the gospel of Christ.
29 (B21) A vím, že až k vám přijdu, přijdu s Kristovým plným požehnáním.
30 (KJV) Now I beseech you, brethren, for the Lord Jesus Christ's sake, and for the love of the Spirit, that ye strive together with me in your prayers to God for me;
30 (B21) Bratři, pro Pána Ježíše Krista a pro lásku Ducha vás prosím, abyste mi pomohli v mém boji. Modlete se za mě k Bohu,
31 (KJV) That I may be delivered from them that do not believe in Judaea; and that my service which I have for Jerusalem may be accepted of the saints;
31 (B21) abych byl vysvobozen od nevěřících v Judsku a aby svatí tuto mou službu Jeruzalému přijali.
32 (KJV) That I may come unto you with joy by the will of God, and may with you be refreshed.
32 (B21) Dá-li Bůh, s radostí pak přijdu k vám a odpočinu si mezi vámi.
33 (KJV) Now the God of peace be with you all. Amen.

That I may be delivered from them that do not believe in Judaea; and that my service which I have for Jerusalem may be accepted of the saints;

Rim 15,3 - Ž 69, 10.
Rim 15,8 - Kristus priniesol evanjelium obriezke, t. j. Židom, i neobriezke, t. j. pohanom. Tamtí môžu velebiť Boha, že splnil svoje prisľúbenie, títo zasa, že ich milostivo povolal k účasti na týchto prisľúbeniach.
Rim 15,9 - Ž 18, 50; porov. 2 Sam 22, 50.

Rim 15,25 - O týchto zbierkach je reč v Gal 2, 10; 1 Kor 16, 1–4; 2 Kor 8, 9. Cesta do Ríma sa spomína v Sk 19, 21.
Rim 15,30-32 - Pavol bol pre svoje pôsobenie medzi pohanmi a pre osočovanie od svojich nepriateľov, o ňom šírené (Sk 21, 28), v neláske nielen medzi Židmi, ale aj medzi židokresťanmi v Jeruzaleme.
