So then, why do you judge your brother? Or why do you despise your brother? For we shall all stand before the judgment seat of Christ.

2Kor 5:10 - For it is necessary for us to be manifested before the judgment seat of Christ, so that each one may receive the proper things of the body, according to his behavior, whether it was good or evil.

Rim 14,1-10 - "Slabí vo viere" boli kresťania, ktorí sa úprimne, ale mylne domnievali, že aj ako kresťania musia naďalej dodržiavať predpisy židovského pôvodu o svätení niektorých dní alebo o zdržiavaní sa niektorých pokrmov. Pavol tu nehovorí podrobne o týchto praktikách alebo o ich pôvode. V presvedčení, že ony aj tak časom zaniknú, odporúča ušľachtilý liberálny postoj voči takýmto kresťanom. Každý si, pravda, má utvoriť svedomie isté a správne a prejavovať lásku ku všetkým.
Rim 14,11 - Porov. Iz 49, 18; 45, 23. "Ako že žijem" je zvyčajným výrazom Božej prísahy. Boh prisahá sám na seba, na svoj nemeniteľný večný život.
Rim 14,14 - Nijaký pokrm sám osebe mravne neznečisťuje, ako to vyhlásil už Ježiš Kristus (Mt 15, 11; Mk 7, 18–19; Sk 11, 9). Teda ani pokrmy obetované predtým modlám (porov. 1 Kor 8, 1–6).
Rim 14,22-23 - Apoštol tu uvádza dôležitú zásadu pre všetkých kresťanov, "slabých" i "silných". Jedni i druhí sa musia správať podľa svojho svedomia osvieteného "vierou". Presvedčenie "silných vo viere" je objektívne správne a sú "blažení", že ich netrápia pochybnosti. Ale v konkrétnom živote sa musia riadiť láskou k "slabým", ktorá je nado všetko. – Kto však je "slabý vo viere" a koná ináč, ako mu svedomie káže, čo platí pre každého, teda aj pre "silného vo viere", dopúšťa sa hriechu.
