Verš 1
Let every soul be subject to higher authorities. For there is no authority except from God and those who have been ordained by God.
Tít 3:1 - Admonish them to be subordinate to the rulers and authorities, to obey their dictates, to be prepared for every good work,
1Pt 2:13 - Therefore, be subject to every human creature because of God, whether it is to the king as preeminent,

Therefore, render to all whatever is owed. Taxes, to whom taxes is due; revenue, to whom revenue is due; fear, to whom fear is due; honor, to whom honor is due.
Mt 22:21 - They said to him, “Caesar’s.” Then he said to them, “Then render to Caesar what is of Caesar; and to God what is of God.”
Verš 8
You should owe nothing to anyone, except so as to love one another. For whoever loves his neighbor has fulfilled the law.
Gal 5:14 - For the entire law is fulfilled by one word: “You shall love your neighbor as yourself.”
1Tim 1:5 - Now the goal of instruction is charity from a pure heart, and a good conscience, and an unfeigned faith.
Verš 9
For example: You shall not commit adultery. You shall not kill. You shall not steal. You shall not speak false testimony. You shall not covet. And if there is any other commandment, it is summed up in this word: You shall love your neighbor as yourself.
Ex 20:13 - You shall not murder.
Dt 5:17 - You shall not murder.
Mt 19:18 - He said to him, “Which?” And Jesus said: “You shall not murder. You shall not commit adultery. You shall not steal. You shall not give false testimony.
Lv 19:18 - Do not seek revenge, neither should you be mindful of the injury of your fellow citizens. You shall love your friend as yourself. I am the Lord.
Mt 22:39 - But the second is similar to it: ‘You shall love your neighbor as yourself.’

Verš 11
And we know the present time, that now is the hour for us to rise up from sleep. For already our salvation is closer than when we first believed.
Ef 5:14 - Because of this, it is said: “You who are sleeping: awaken, and rise up from the dead, and so shall the Christ enlighten you.”
1Sol 5:6 - Therefore, let us not sleep, as the rest do. Instead, we should be vigilant and sober.
Verš 12
The night has passed, and the day draws near. Therefore, let us cast aside the works of darkness, and be clothed with the armor of light.
1Sol 5:5 - For all of you are sons of light and sons of daytime; we are not of nighttime, nor of darkness.
Kol 3:8 - But now you must set aside all these things: anger, indignation, malice, blasphemy, and indecent speech from your mouth.
Verš 13
Let us walk honestly, as in the daylight, not in carousing and drunkenness, not in promiscuity and sexual immorality, not in contention and envy.
Flp 4:8 - Concerning the rest, brothers, whatever is true, whatever is chaste, whatever is just, whatever is holy, whatever is worthy to be loved, whatever is of good repute, if there is any virtue, if there is any praiseworthy discipline: meditate on these.
1Sol 4:12 - and to walk honestly with those who are outside, and to desire nothing belonging to another.
Lk 21:34 - But be attentive to yourselves, lest perhaps your hearts may be weighed down by self-indulgence and inebriation and the cares of this life. And then that day may overwhelm you suddenly.
1Sol 5:6 - Therefore, let us not sleep, as the rest do. Instead, we should be vigilant and sober.
1Kor 6:10 - nor the effeminate, nor males who sleep with males, nor thieves, nor the avaricious, nor the inebriated, nor slanderers, nor the rapacious shall possess the kingdom of God.
Ef 5:5 - For know and understand this: no one who is a fornicator, or lustful, or rapacious (for these are a kind of service to idols) holds an inheritance in the kingdom of Christ and of God.
Jak 3:14 - But if you hold a bitter zeal, and if there is contention in your hearts, then do not boast and do not be liars against the truth.
Verš 14
Instead, be clothed with the Lord Jesus Christ, and make no provision for the flesh in its desires.
Gal 3:27 - For as many of you as have been baptized in Christ have become clothed with Christ.
1Pt 2:11 - Most beloved, I beg you, as new arrivals and sojourners, to abstain from carnal desires, which battle against the soul.
