Sk 26, 1-32

1 (KJV) Then Agrippa said unto Paul, Thou art permitted to speak for thyself. Then Paul stretched forth the hand, and answered for himself:
1 (B21) Potom Agrippa vyzval Pavla: "Smíš promluvit sám za sebe." Pavel pokynul rukou a začal svou obhajobu:

2 (KJV) I think myself happy, king Agrippa, because I shall answer for myself this day before thee touching all the things whereof I am accused of the Jews:
2 (B21) "Jsem šťasten, králi Agrippo, že se dnes mám hájit proti všem židovským obviněním právě před tebou,

3 (KJV) Especially because I know thee to be expert in all customs and questions which are among the Jews: wherefore I beseech thee to hear me patiently.
3 (B21) zejména proto, že jsi znalcem všech židovských zvyků a záležitostí. Proto tě prosím, vyslechni mě trpělivě.

4 (KJV) My manner of life from my youth, which was at the first among mine own nation at Jerusalem, know all the Jews;
4 (B21) Všichni Židé vědí, jaký život jsem od mládí vedl, zpočátku v mé vlasti a potom v Jeruzalémě.

5 (KJV) Which knew me from the beginning, if they would testify, that after the most straitest sect of our religion I lived a Pharisee.
5 (B21) Znají mě odedávna a kdyby chtěli, mohou dosvědčit, že jsem žil podle nejpřísnějšího proudu v našem náboženství jako farizeus.

6 (KJV) And now I stand and am judged for the hope of the promise made of God unto our fathers:
6 (B21) Teď tu stojím, abych byl souzen kvůli naději v to, co Bůh zaslíbil našim otcům.

7 (KJV) Unto which promise our twelve tribes, instantly serving God day and night, hope to come. For which hope's sake, king Agrippa, I am accused of the Jews.
7 (B21) Dvanáct našich pokolení ustavičně slouží Bohu dnem i nocí v naději, že dosáhnou onoho zaslíbení. Kvůli této naději mě Židé žalují, králi Agrippo!

8 (KJV) Why should it be thought a thing incredible with you, that God should raise the dead?
8 (B21) Co je podle vás neuvěřitelného na tom, že Bůh křísí mrtvé?

9 (KJV) I verily thought with myself, that I ought to do many things contrary to the name of Jesus of Nazareth.
9 (B21) Sám jsem se ovšem také domníval, že se musím všemožně stavět proti jménu Ježíše Nazaretského,

10 (KJV) Which thing I also did in Jerusalem: and many of the saints did I shut up in prison, having received authority from the chief priests; and when they were put to death, I gave my voice against them.
10 (B21) což jsem také v Jeruzalémě dělal. Z pověření vrchních kněží jsem uvěznil mnoho svatých a hlasoval jsem pro jejich smrt.

11 (KJV) And I punished them oft in every synagogue, and compelled them to blaspheme; and being exceedingly mad against them, I persecuted them even unto strange cities.
11 (B21) Po všech synagogách jsem je často nechával bičovat a nutil je k rouhání. Ve svém nepříčetném hněvu jsem je začal pronásledovat dokonce i v jiných městech.

12 (KJV) Whereupon as I went to Damascus with authority and commission from the chief priests,
12 (B21) Jednou jsem se s plnou mocí a pověřením od vrchních kněží vypravil do Damašku.

13 (KJV) At midday, O king, I saw in the way a light from heaven, above the brightness of the sun, shining round about me and them which journeyed with me.
13 (B21) Cestou jsem, králi, uviděl světlo z nebe. I když to bylo kolem poledne, zářilo jasněji než slunce a obklopilo mě i můj doprovod.

14 (KJV) And when we were all fallen to the earth, I heard a voice speaking unto me, and saying in the Hebrew tongue, Saul, Saul, why persecutest thou me? it is hard for thee to kick against the pricks.
14 (B21) Když jsme všichni padli k zemi, uslyšel jsem hlas, který mi hebrejsky řekl: ‚Saule, Saule, proč mě pronásleduješ? Marně kopeš proti bodcům!'

15 (KJV) And I said, Who art thou, Lord? And he said, I am Jesus whom thou persecutest.
15 (B21) Zeptal jsem se: ‚Kdo jsi, Pane?' a on řekl: ‚Já jsem Ježíš, kterého ty pronásleduješ.

16 (KJV) But rise, and stand upon thy feet: for I have appeared unto thee for this purpose, to make thee a minister and a witness both of these things which thou hast seen, and of those things in the which I will appear unto thee;
16 (B21) Zvedni se však a stůj. Ukázal jsem se ti, abych tě učinil služebníkem a svědkem toho, co jsi viděl, i toho, v čem se ti ještě ukážu.

17 (KJV) Delivering thee from the people, and from the Gentiles, unto whom now I send thee,
17 (B21) Budu tě vysvobozovat od tohoto lidu i od pohanů, ke kterým tě posílám,

18 (KJV) To open their eyes, and to turn them from darkness to light, and from the power of Satan unto God, that they may receive forgiveness of sins, and inheritance among them which are sanctified by faith that is in me.
18 (B21) abys otvíral jejich oči, aby se obrátili od tmy ke světlu a od satanovy moci k Bohu, aby vírou ve mne přijali odpuštění hříchů a podíl mezi posvěcenými.'

19 (KJV) Whereupon, O king Agrippa, I was not disobedient unto the heavenly vision:
19 (B21) A tak jsem, králi Agrippo, nebyl neposlušný tomu nebeskému vidění.

20 (KJV) But shewed first unto them of Damascus, and at Jerusalem, and throughout all the coasts of Judaea, and then to the Gentiles, that they should repent and turn to God, and do works meet for repentance.
20 (B21) Začal jsem zvěstovat nejdříve v Damašku, potom v Jeruzalémě, po celé judské zemi a také pohanům, že mají činit pokání, obrátit se k Bohu a svými skutky prokazovat své pokání.

21 (KJV) For these causes the Jews caught me in the temple, and went about to kill me.
21 (B21) To je důvod, proč se mě Židé v chrámu chopili a pokoušeli se mě zabít.

22 (KJV) Having therefore obtained help of God, I continue unto this day, witnessing both to small and great, saying none other things than those which the prophets and Moses did say should come:
22 (B21) Díky Boží pomoci, kterou až dodnes zakouším, tu však stojím a vydávám svědectví malému i velkému. Neříkám nic než to, co předpověděli proroci i Mojžíš:

23 (KJV) That Christ should suffer, and that he should be the first that should rise from the dead, and should shew light unto the people, and to the Gentiles.
23 (B21) že Mesiáš má trpět, jako první vstát z mrtvých a zvěstovat světlo tomuto lidu i pohanům."

24 (KJV) And as he thus spake for himself, Festus said with a loud voice, Paul, thou art beside thyself; much learning doth make thee mad.
24 (B21) Festus však Pavlovu obhajobu přerušil: "Pavle, ty šílíš!" vykřikl. "Tvá veliká učenost tě přivádí k šílenství!"

25 (KJV) But he said, I am not mad, most noble Festus; but speak forth the words of truth and soberness.
25 (B21) "Nešílím, vznešený Feste," odpověděl Pavel. "Má slova jsou pravdivá a rozumná.

26 (KJV) For the king knoweth of these things, before whom also I speak freely: for I am persuaded that none of these things are hidden from him; for this thing was not done in a corner.
26 (B21) Král, před nímž tak otevřeně mluvím, těm věcem dobře rozumí. Jsem si jist, že mu nic z toho neuniklo, neboť se to nedělo někde v ústraní.

27 (KJV) King Agrippa, believest thou the prophets? I know that thou believest.
27 (B21) Věříš prorokům, králi Agrippo? Vím, že věříš."

28 (KJV) Then Agrippa said unto Paul, Almost thou persuadest me to be a Christian.
28 (B21) "Téměř jsi mě přesvědčil, abych se stal křesťanem," odpověděl mu Agrippa.

29 (KJV) And Paul said, I would to God, that not only thou, but also all that hear me this day, were both almost, and altogether such as I am, except these bonds.
29 (B21) "Kéž by Bůh dal!" řekl na to Pavel. "Kéž by ses nejen ty, ale každý, kdo mě dnes slyší, stal ne téměř, ale úplně tím, co já - ovšem bez těchto pout."

30 (KJV) And when he had thus spoken, the king rose up, and the governor, and Bernice, and they that sat with them:
30 (B21) Nato král vstal a s ním i prokurátor a Bereniké a ostatní přísedící.

31 (KJV) And when they were gone aside, they talked between themselves, saying, This man doeth nothing worthy of death or of bonds.
31 (B21) Cestou odtud si povídali: "Ten člověk nedělá nic, zač by si zasloužil smrt nebo vězení!"

32 (KJV) Then said Agrippa unto Festus, This man might have been set at liberty, if he had not appealed unto Caesar.
32 (B21) Agrippa na to Festovi řekl: "Kdyby se neodvolal k císaři, mohl být propuštěn."

And now I stand and am judged for the hope of the promise made of God unto our fathers:

Gn 3:15 - And I will put enmity between thee and the woman, and between thy seed and her seed; it shall bruise thy head, and thou shalt bruise his heel.

Gn 22:18 - And in thy seed shall all the nations of the earth be blessed; because thou hast obeyed my voice.

Gn 26:4 - And I will make thy seed to multiply as the stars of heaven, and will give unto thy seed all these countries; and in thy seed shall all the nations of the earth be blessed;

Gn 49:10 - The sceptre shall not depart from Judah, nor a lawgiver from between his feet, until Shiloh come; and unto him shall the gathering of the people be.

Dt 18:15 - The LORD thy God will raise up unto thee a Prophet from the midst of thee, of thy brethren, like unto me; unto him ye shall hearken;

2Sam 7:12 - And when thy days be fulfilled, and thou shalt sleep with thy fathers, I will set up thy seed after thee, which shall proceed out of thy bowels, and I will establish his kingdom.

I verily thought with myself, that I ought to do many things contrary to the name of Jesus of Nazareth.

Sk 8:3 - As for Saul, he made havock of the church, entering into every house, and haling men and women committed them to prison.

Sk 9:1 - And Saul, yet breathing out threatenings and slaughter against the disciples of the Lord, went unto the high priest,

Sk 22:4 - And I persecuted this way unto the death, binding and delivering into prisons both men and women.

1Kor 15:9 - For I am the least of the apostles, that am not meet to be called an apostle, because I persecuted the church of God.

Gal 1:13 - For ye have heard of my conversation in time past in the Jews' religion, how that beyond measure I persecuted the church of God, and wasted it:

1Tim 1:13 - Who was before a blasphemer, and a persecutor, and injurious: but I obtained mercy, because I did it ignorantly in unbelief.

To open their eyes, and to turn them from darkness to light, and from the power of Satan unto God, that they may receive forgiveness of sins, and inheritance among them which are sanctified by faith that is in me.

Iz 60:1 - Arise, shine; for thy light is come, and the glory of the LORD is risen upon thee.

Verš 20

Sk 9:19 - And when he had received meat, he was strengthened. Then was Saul certain days with the disciples which were at Damascus.

Sk 9:28 - And he was with them coming in and going out at Jerusalem.

Sk 22:17 - And it came to pass, that, when I was come again to Jerusalem, even while I prayed in the temple, I was in a trance;

Sk 22:21 - And he said unto me, Depart: for I will send thee far hence unto the Gentiles.

Verš 21

For these causes the Jews caught me in the temple, and went about to kill me.

Sk 21:30 - And all the city was moved, and the people ran together: and they took Paul, and drew him out of the temple: and forthwith the doors were shut.

Verš 26

For the king knoweth of these things, before whom also I speak freely: for I am persuaded that none of these things are hidden from him; for this thing was not done in a corner.

Jn 18:20 - Jesus answered him, I spake openly to the world; I ever taught in the synagogue, and in the temple, whither the Jews always resort; and in secret have I said nothing.

Verš 29

And Paul said, I would to God, that not only thou, but also all that hear me this day, were both almost, and altogether such as I am, except these bonds.

1Kor 7:7 - For I would that all men were even as I myself. But every man hath his proper gift of God, one after this manner, and another after that.

Verš 31

And when they were gone aside, they talked between themselves, saying, This man doeth nothing worthy of death or of bonds.

Sk 23:9 - And there arose a great cry: and the scribes that were of the Pharisees' part arose, and strove, saying, We find no evil in this man: but if a spirit or an angel hath spoken to him, let us not fight against God.

Sk 25:25 - But when I found that he had committed nothing worthy of death, and that he himself hath appealed to Augustus, I have determined to send him.
