1 (HEM) ויהי אחרי עברם באמפפוליס ובאפלוינא ויבאו אל תסלוניקי אשר שם בית כנסת היהודים׃
1 (KAT) Prešli cez Amfipolis a Apolóniu a prišli do Solúna, kde bola židovská synagóga.
1 (UKJV) Now when they had passed through Amphipolis and Apollonia, they came to Thessalonica, where was a synagogue of the Jews:

2 (HEM) ופולוס נכנס אליהם כמשפטו ושלש שבתות דבר עמהם בדברי הכתובים׃
2 (KAT) Pavol podľa svojho zvyku vošiel k nim a po tri soboty im hovoril o Písmach.
2 (UKJV) And Paul, as his manner was, went in unto them, and three sabbath days reasoned with them out of the scriptures,

3 (HEM) פתוח והוכח להם כי צריך היה אשר יענה המשיח ויקום מן המתים וכי זה הוא המשיח ישוע אשר אני מגיד לכם׃
3 (KAT) Odkrýval a potvrdzoval, že Mesiáš musel trpieť a vstať z mŕtvych a: „Týmto Mesiášom je Ježiš, ktorého vám ja zvestujem.“
3 (UKJV) "Opening and alleging, that Christ must essentially have suffered, and risen again from the dead; and that this Jesus, whom I preach unto you, is Christ. "

4 (HEM) ויאמינו מקצתם ויספחו על פולוס וסילא וגם יראי אלהים מן היונים לרב וגם נשים חשובות מספר לא מעט׃
4 (KAT) A niektorí z nich uverili a pripojili sa k Pavlovi a Sílasovi, aj veľké množstvo nábožných Grékov a nemálo vznešených žien.
4 (UKJV) "And some of them believed, and consorted with Paul and Silas; and of the devout Greeks a great multitude, and of the chief women not a few. "

5 (HEM) ויקנאו הסוררים שביהודים ויקחו להם אנשי בליעל מבטלני השוק ויקבצו המון ויהמו את העיר ויסבו על בית יסון ויבקשו להביאם חוצה אל העם׃
5 (KAT) Ale žiarliví Židia si najali niekoľko zlých mužov z ulice, vyvolali rozruch a rozbúrili mesto. Zastali pri Jasonovom dome a chceli ich vyviesť pred ľud.
5 (UKJV) But the Jews which believed not, moved with envy, took unto them certain lewd fellows of the baser sort, and gathered a company, and set all the city on an uproar, and assaulted the house of Jason, and sought to bring them out to the people.

6 (HEM) וכאשר לא מצאו אותם סחבו את יסון ואנשים מן האחים לפני ראשי העיר ויצעקו לאמר הנה המדיחים את כל ישבי תבל באו גם הלום׃
6 (KAT) Ale keď ich nenašli, odvliekli Jasona a niektorých bratov k predstaveným mesta a kričali: „Tí, čo rozbúrili celý svet, prišli aj sem
6 (UKJV) "And when they found them not, they drew Jason and certain brethren unto the rulers of the city, crying, These that have turned the world upside down are come here also; "

7 (HEM) ויסון אסף אתם אל ביתו והם כלם עשים נגד דתי הקיסר באמרם כי יש מלך אחר והוא ישוע׃
7 (KAT) a Jason ich prijal. A títo všetci robia proti cisárovým nariadeniam, lebo tvrdia, že je iný kráľ, Ježiš.“
7 (UKJV) Whom Jason has received: and these all do contrary to the decrees of Caesar, saying that there is another king, one Jesus.

8 (HEM) ויחרידו את העם ואת ראשי העיר אשר שמעו את זאת׃
8 (KAT) Tak pobúrili ľud i predstavených mesta, ktorí to počuli.
8 (UKJV) And they troubled the people and the rulers of the city, when they heard these things.

9 (HEM) ויקחו ערבון מידי יסון ומידי האחרים ואחרי כן פטרום׃
9 (KAT) Ale keď dostali od Jasona a ostatných záruku, prepustili ich.
9 (UKJV) And when they had taken security of Jason, and of the other, they let them go.

10 (HEM) והאחים מהרו לשלח את פולוס ואת סילא לילה לברואה והם בבאם שמה הלכו לבית כנסת היהודים׃
10 (KAT) Bratia hneď v noci vypravili Pavla a Sílasa do Berey. Keď ta prišli, vošli do židovskej synagógy.
10 (UKJV) And the brethren immediately sent away Paul and Silas by night unto Berea: who coming thither went into the synagogue of the Jews.

11 (HEM) ואלה היו נדיבים מאנשי תסלוניקי ויקבלו את הדבר בכל לב וידרשו בכתובים יום יום לדעת אם כן הוא הדבר׃
11 (KAT) A tí boli šľachetnejší ako tamtí v Solúne. Oni prijímali slovo s veľkou dychtivosťou a každý deň skúmali Písma, či je to naozaj tak.
11 (UKJV) These were more noble than those in Thessalonica, in that they received the word (o. logos) with all readiness of mind, and searched the scriptures daily, whether those things were so.

12 (HEM) ויאמינו הרבה מהם וגם מן הנשים החשובות היוניות ומן האנשים לא מעט׃
12 (KAT) A tak mnohí z nich uverili, aj nemálo gréckych žien z vyšších vrstiev i mužov.
12 (UKJV) "Therefore many of them believed; also of honourable women which were Greeks, and of men, not a few. "

13 (HEM) ויהי כאשר שמעו היהודים אשר מתסלוניקי כי מגיד פולוס את דבר אלהים גם בברואה ויבאו ויעררו את העם גם שמה׃
13 (KAT) Ale keď sa solúnski Židia dozvedeli, že Pavol aj v Berei hlása Božie slovo, išli aj ta znepokojovať a búriť zástupy.
13 (UKJV) But when the Jews of Thessalonica had knowledge that the word (o. logos) of God was preached of Paul at Berea, they came thither also, and stirred up the people.

14 (HEM) וימהרו האחים וישלחו את פולוס ללכת עד הים וסילא וטימותיוס נשארו שם׃
14 (KAT) Tu bratia hneď vypravili Pavla, aby šiel až k moru. Sílas a Timotej zostali tam.
14 (UKJV) And then immediately the brethren sent away Paul to go as it were to the sea: but Silas and Timotheus abode there still.

15 (HEM) והמלוים את פולוס הוליכהו עד אתינס ויקבלו מצותו אל סילא וטימותיוס כי בוא יבאו אליו במהרה וילכו׃
15 (KAT) Tí, čo odprevádzali Pavla, zaviedli ho až do Atén. Tam dostali príkaz pre Sílasa a Timoteja, aby čím skôr prišli za ním; a vrátili sa.
15 (UKJV) And they that conducted Paul brought him unto Athens: and receiving a commandment unto Silas and Timotheus in order to come to him with all speed, they departed.

16 (HEM) ויהי באתינס ופולוס מהכה להם ותתחמץ רוחו בקרבו בראתו את העיר מלאה אלילים׃
16 (KAT) Kým Pavol na nich v Aténach čakal, búril sa v duchu, keď videl, že mesto je oddané modlárstvu.
16 (UKJV) Now while Paul waited for them at Athens, his spirit (o. pneuma) was stirred in him, when he saw the city wholly given to idolatry.

17 (HEM) על כן בבית הכנסת דבר עם היהודים ועם יראי אלהים ובשוק יום יום עם הנקרים אליו׃
17 (KAT) Preto hovoril v synagóge so Židmi a s nábožnými ľuďmi a každý deň na námestí s tými, čo tam práve boli.
17 (UKJV) Therefore disputed he in the synagogue with the Jews, and with the devout persons, and in the market daily with them that met with him.

18 (HEM) וגם מקצת הפילוסופים מתלמידי אפיקורוס ומחברת האסטוא התגרו בו ויש אשר אמרו מה יאמר המפטפט הלז ואחרים אמרים כפי הנראה הוא מגיד אלהי נכר יען כי בשר אתם את ישוע ואת התחיה׃
18 (KAT) A niektorí epikurejskí a stoickí filozofi s ním debatovali. Jedni vraveli: „Čo to chce tento tlčhuba povedať?“ Iní zasa: „Zdá sa, že zvestuje cudzie božstvá.“ Zvestoval totiž Ježiša a zmŕtvychvstanie.
18 (UKJV) Then certain philosophers of the Epicureans, and of the Stoicks, encountered him. And some said, What will this babbler say? other some, He seems to be a proclaimer of strange gods: because he preached unto them Jesus, and the resurrection.

19 (HEM) ויאחזוהו ויביאהו אל גבעת המשפט הנקראה בשם אריופגוס ויאמרו הנוכל לדעת מה היא זו התורה החדשה אשר אתה משמיע׃
19 (KAT) I vzali ho, zaviedli ho na areopág a vraveli: „Môžeme vedieť, čo je to za nové učenie, ktoré hlásaš?
19 (UKJV) And they took him, and brought him unto Areopagus, saying, May we know what this new doctrine, whereof you speak, is?

20 (HEM) כי דברים זרים אתה מביא באזנינו והננו חפצים לדעת מה ענינם׃
20 (KAT) Veď čosi divné nám donášaš do uší. Preto chceme vedieť, čo to má byť.“
20 (UKJV) For you bring certain strange things to our ears: we would know therefore what these things mean.

21 (HEM) כי האתיניים כלם וגם הנכרים הגרים שם לא חשו לדבר אחר כי אם לספר או לשמע חדשות׃
21 (KAT) Lebo ani jeden Aténčan, ani cudzinec, čo tam bývali, nemali na nič toľko času ako rozprávať alebo počúvať niečo nové.
21 (UKJV) (For all the Athenians and strangers which were there spent their time in nothing else, but either to tell, or to hear some new thing.)

22 (HEM) ויעמד פולוס בתוך ועד השפטים ויאמר אנשי אתינס הנני ראה בכל כי יראי אלים אתם מאד׃
22 (KAT) Pavol si stal doprostred areopágu a hovoril: „Aténčania, podľa všetkého vidím, že ste neobyčajne nábožní.
22 (UKJV) Then Paul stood in the midst of Mars' hill, and said, All of you men of Athens, I perceive that in all things all of you are too superstitious.

23 (HEM) כי אני עבר ומתבונן אל עבדות אלהיכם ואמצא מזבח אחד כתוב עליו לאל הנעלם ועתה את אשר עבדתם ואינכם ידעים אתו אני מגיד לכם׃
23 (KAT) Lebo keď som sa prechádzal a prezeral si vaše svätyne, našiel som aj oltár s nápisom: »Neznámemu bohu.« Čo teda uctievate, hoci to nepoznáte, to vám ja zvestujem.
23 (UKJV) For as I passed by, and beheld your devotions, I found an altar with this inscription, TO THE UNKNOWN GOD. Whom therefore all of you ignorantly worship, him declare I unto you.

24 (HEM) האל אשר עשה את העולם וכל אשר בו לא ישכן בהיכלות מעשה ידים כי הוא אדון השמים והארץ׃
24 (KAT) Boh, ktorý stvoril svet a všetko, čo je v ňom, pretože je Pánom neba i zeme, nebýva v chrámoch zhotovených rukou,
24 (UKJV) "God that made the world and all things therein, seeing that he is Lord of heaven and earth, dwells not in temples made with hands; "

25 (HEM) גם לא ישרתוהו ידי בני אדם כאלו יצטרך לדבר כי הוא הנתן לכל חיים ונשמה וכל דבר׃
25 (KAT) ani sa mu neslúži ľudskými rukami, akoby niečo potreboval, veď on dáva všetkým život, dych a všetko
25 (UKJV) "Neither is worshipped with men's hands, as though he needed any thing, seeing he gives to all life, and breath, and all things; "

26 (HEM) ויושב כל עממי בני אדם על כל פני האדמה מדם אחד ויצב מועדים קבועים וגבולת מושבם׃
26 (KAT) a z jedného urobil celé ľudské pokolenie, aby obývalo celý povrch zeme; určil im vymedzený čas a hranice ich bývania,
26 (UKJV) "And has made of one blood all nations of men in order to dwell on all the face of the earth, and has determined the times before appointed, and the bounds of their habitation; "

27 (HEM) למען יבקשו את האלהים אולי ימששהו וימצאהו אף כי איננו רחוק מכל אחד ממנו׃
27 (KAT) aby hľadali Boha, ak by ho dajako nahmatali a našli, hoci od nikoho z nás nie je ďaleko.
27 (UKJV) That they should seek the Lord, if lest by any means they might feel after him, and find him, though he be not far from every one of us:

28 (HEM) כי בו אנחנו חיים ומתנועעים וקימים כאשר גם מקצת משורריכם אמרו אף ילידיו אנחנו׃
28 (KAT) Lebo v ňom žijeme, hýbeme sa a sme, ako to aj niektorí z vašich básnikov povedali: »Veď aj jeho pokolenie sme.«
28 (UKJV) "For in him we live, and move, and have our being; as certain also of your own poets have said, For we are also his offspring. "

29 (HEM) והנה בהיותנו ילידי האלהים לא נכון לנו לחשב כי האלהות תדמה לזהב או לכסף או לאבן מעשה חרש ומחשבת בני אדם׃
29 (KAT) Keď sme teda Božím pokolením, nemáme si myslieť, že božstvo sa podobá zlatu, striebru alebo kameňu, výtvoru ľudského umenia a dômyslu.
29 (UKJV) Forasmuch then as we are the offspring of God, we ought not to think that the Godhead is like unto gold, or silver, or stone, graven by are and man's device.

30 (HEM) לכן עתה אחרי עבר אלהים על ימות הסכלות מצוה הוא את כל בני האדם בכל אפסי ארץ כי שוב ישובו׃
30 (KAT) Ale Boh prehliadol časy nevedomosti a teraz zvestuje ľuďom, aby všetci a všade robili pokánie,
30 (UKJV) "And the times of this ignorance God winked at; but now commands all men every where to repent: "

31 (HEM) יען אשר שת יום לשפט תבל בצדק על ידי איש אשר הפקידו ויתן עדות נאמנה לכלם בהקימו אתו מן המתים׃
31 (KAT) lebo určil deň, keď bude spravodlivo súdiť zemekruh skrze muža, ktorého na to ustanovil a všetkým osvedčil tým, že ho vzkriesil z mŕtvych.“
31 (UKJV) "Because he has appointed a day, in the which he will judge the world in righteousness by that man whom he has ordained; whereof he has given assurance unto all men, in that he has raised him from the dead. "

32 (HEM) וכאשר שמעו תחית מתים אלה הלעיגו לו ואלה אמרו על זאת נשמעך בעת אחרת׃
32 (KAT) Ako počuli o vzkriesení z mŕtvych, niektorí sa posmievali, iní hovorili: „Vypočujeme ťa o tom inokedy.“
32 (UKJV) And when they heard of the resurrection of the dead, some mocked: and others said, We will hear you again of this matter.

33 (HEM) ובכן יצא פולוס מתוכם׃
33 (KAT) Tak Pavol spomedzi nich odišiel.
33 (UKJV) So Paul departed from among them.

34 (HEM) ומקצתם דבקו בו ויאמינו ובהם דיונוסיוס מן השפטים של אריופגוס ואשה אחת שמה דמריס ועוד אחרים עמהם׃
34 (KAT) No niektorí muži sa pripojili k nemu a uverili. Medzi nimi aj Dionýz Areopagita, žena menom Damaris a iní s nimi.
34 (UKJV) Nevertheless certain men clave unto him, and believed: among the which was Dionysius the Areopagite, and a woman named Damaris, and others with them.
