Jn 2, 1-25

1 "And the third day there was a marriage in Cana of Galilee; and the mother of Jesus was there: " 2 And both Jesus was called, and his disciples, to the marriage. 3 And when they wanted wine, the mother of Jesus says unto him, They have no wine. 4 Jesus says unto her, Woman, what have I to do with you? mine hour is not yet come. 5 His mother says unto the servants, Whatsoever he says unto you, do it. 6 And there were set there six water pots of stone, after the manner of the purifying of the Jews, containing two or three firkins apiece. 7 Jesus says unto them, Fill the water pots with water. And they filled them up to the brim. 8 And he says unto them, Draw out now, and bear unto the governor of the feast. And they bare it. 9 "When the ruler of the feast had tasted the water that was made wine, and knew not whence it was: (but the servants which drew the water knew;) the governor of the feast called the bridegroom, " 10 "And says unto him, Every man at the beginning does set forth good wine; and when men have well drunk, then that which is worse: but you have kept the good wine until now. " 11 "This beginning of miracles did Jesus in Cana of Galilee, and manifested forth his glory; and his disciples believed on him. " 12 After this he went down to Capernaum, he, and his mother, and his brethren, and his disciples: and they continued there not many days. 13 And the Jews' passover was at hand, and Jesus went up to Jerusalem. 14 And found in the temple those that sold oxen and sheep and doves, and the changers of money sitting: 15 "And when he had made a scourge of small cords, he drove them all out of the temple, and the sheep, and the oxen; and poured out the changers' money, and overthrew the tables; " 16 "And said unto them that sold doves, Take these things behind; make not my Father's house an house of merchandise. " 17 And his disciples remembered that it was written, The zeal of your house has eaten me up. 18 Then answered the Jews and said unto him, What sign show you unto us, seeing that you do these things? 19 Jesus answered and said unto them, Destroy this temple, and in three days I will raise it up. 20 Then said the Jews, Forty and six years was this temple in building, and will you rear it up in three days? 21 But he spoke of the temple of his body. 22 "When therefore he was risen from the dead, his disciples remembered that he had said this unto them; and they believed the scripture, and the word (o. logos) which Jesus had said. " 23 Now when he was in Jerusalem at the passover, in the feast day, many believed in his name, when they saw the miracles which he did. 24 But Jesus did not commit himself unto them, because he knew all men, 25 And needed not that any should testify of man: for he knew what was in man.

And there were set there six water pots of stone, after the manner of the purifying of the Jews, containing two or three firkins apiece.

Mk 7:3 - For the Pharisees, and all the Jews, except they wash their hands often, eat not, holding the tradition of the elders.

And found in the temple those that sold oxen and sheep and doves, and the changers of money sitting:

Mt 21:12 - And Jesus went into the temple of God, and cast out all them that sold and bought in the temple, and overthrew the tables of the moneychangers, and the seats of them that sold doves,

Mk 11:15 - "And they come to Jerusalem: and Jesus went into the temple, and began to cast out them that sold and bought in the temple, and overthrew the tables of the moneychangers, and the seats of them that sold doves; "

Lk 19:45 - "And he went into the temple, and began to cast out them that sold therein, and them that bought; "

And his disciples remembered that it was written, The zeal of your house has eaten me up.

Then answered the Jews and said unto him, What sign show you unto us, seeing that you do these things?

Mt 12:38 - Then certain of the scribes and of the Pharisees answered, saying, Master, we would see a sign from you.

Mt 16:1 - The Pharisees also with the Sadducees came, and tempting desired him that he would show them a sign from heaven.

Mk 8:11 - And the Pharisees came forth, and began to question with him, seeking of him a sign from heaven, tempting him.

Lk 11:29 - "And when the people were gathered thick together, he began to say, This is an evil generation: they seek a sign; and there shall no sign be given it, but the sign of Jonas the prophet. "

Jn 6:30 - They said therefore unto him, What sign show you then, that we may see, and believe you? what do you work?

Verš 19

Jesus answered and said unto them, Destroy this temple, and in three days I will raise it up.

Mt 26:61 - And said, This fellow said, I am able to destroy the temple of God, and to build it in three days.

Mt 27:40 - And saying, You that destroys the temple, and build it in three days, save yourself. If you be the Son of God, come down from the cross.

Mk 14:58 - We heard him say, I will destroy this temple that is made with hands, and within three days I will build another made without hands.

Mk 15:29 - And they that passed by railed on him, wagging their heads, and saying, Ah, you that destroys the temple, and build it in three days,

"When therefore he was risen from the dead, his disciples remembered that he had said this unto them; and they believed the scripture, and the word (o. logos) which Jesus had said. "

And needed not that any should testify of man: for he knew what was in man.

1Sam 16:7 - "But the LORD said unto Samuel, Look not on his countenance, or on the height of his stature; because I have refused him: for the LORD sees not as man sees; for man looks on the outward appearance, but the LORD looks on the heart. "

1Krn 28:9 - "And you, Solomon my son, know you the God of your father, and serve him with a perfect heart and with a willing mind: for the LORD searches all hearts, and understands all the imaginations of the thoughts: if you seek him, he will be found of you; but if you forsake him, he will cast you off for ever. "

Ž 7:9 - "Oh let the wickedness of the wicked come to an end; but establish the just: for the righteous God tries the hearts and reins. "

Ž 103:14 - "For he knows our frame; he remembers that we are dust. "

Jn 6:64 - But there are some of you that believe not. For Jesus knew from the beginning who they were that believed not, and who should betray him.

Jn 2,1 - "Na tretí deň" po stretnutí s Filipom a Natanaelom. - Kána, dnešné Kefr Kenna, je neďaleko Nazareta.

Jn 2,4 - "Čo mňa a teba do toho, žena" - semitské vyjadrenie, dosť časté v Starom zákone a aj v Novom zákone (Mt 8, 29). Používa sa na odmietnutie správnej žiadosti, na splnenie ktorej ešte neprišiel čas. - "Žena" - Ježiš tu chce vyzdvihnúť novú hodnosť Panny Márie v ľudskom pokolení; takisto ju nazve aj v 19, 26, kde sa tento význam vyjasní s odvolaním sa na Gn 3, 15.20: Mária je nová Eva - matka živých. - Ježišova "hodina" je chvíľa, ktorú určuje Otec, hodina jeho oslávenia (porov. 13, 1; 17, 1). Zázrak na príhovor Panny Márie bude zatiaľ jeho symbolickým zvestovaním.

Jn 2,6 - Jedna židovská "miera" mala asi 40 litrov.

Jn 2,12 - Tzv. Ježišovi "bratia" sú celkom iste jeho bratanci, synovia "druhej" Márie a Kleopasa. Pozri poznámku k Mt 12, 46. - Kafarnaum je na západnom brehu Genezaretského jazera, práve v končinách, kde býva najväčšie množstvo rýb.

Jn 2,14-17 - Mt 21, 12-17; Mk 11, 15-17; Lk 19, 45-46.Nevedno, či synoptici hovoria o tej istej udalosti. Niečo podobné sa mohlo stať aj viac ráz. Pán Ježiš bol pokrstený podľa všetkého na začiatku roku 28 po Kr. (január - február); potom strávil 40 dní na púšti a niekoľko týždňov v Galilei. Tak prišla Veľká noc (marec - apríl). Ján tu mohol mať teologický dôvod: Ježiš zjavuje svoju mesiášsku hodnosť.

Jn 2,17 - Ž 69, 10.

Jn 2,21 - Vzkriesený Kristus bude centrom kultu v duchu a pravde.
