Biblia - Sväté písmo

(KJV - Anglický - King James)

Jn 18, 1-40

1 (KJV) When Jesus had spoken these words, he went forth with his disciples over the brook Cedron, where was a garden, into the which he entered, and his disciples.

2 (KJV) And Judas also, which betrayed him, knew the place: for Jesus ofttimes resorted thither with his disciples.

3 (KJV) Judas then, having received a band of men and officers from the chief priests and Pharisees, cometh thither with lanterns and torches and weapons.
3 (B21) Jidáš vzal s sebou oddíl vojáků a chrámovou stráž od vrchních kněží a farizeů a přišli tam s lucernami, pochodněmi a zbraněmi.

4 (KJV) Jesus therefore, knowing all things that should come upon him, went forth, and said unto them, Whom seek ye?
4 (B21) Ježíš, vědom si všeho, co jej čekalo, jim vyšel vstříc se slovy: "Koho hledáte?"

5 (KJV) They answered him, Jesus of Nazareth. Jesus saith unto them, I am he. And Judas also, which betrayed him, stood with them.

6 (KJV) As soon then as he had said unto them, I am he, they went backward, and fell to the ground.
6 (B21) Jakmile jim Ježíš řekl: "To jsem já," ucouvli a padli k zemi.

7 (KJV) Then asked he them again, Whom seek ye? And they said, Jesus of Nazareth.
7 (B21) "Koho hledáte?" zeptal se jich znovu. "Ježíše Nazaretského!" opakovali.

8 (KJV) Jesus answered, I have told you that I am he: if therefore ye seek me, let these go their way:
8 (B21) "Už jsem vám řekl, že to jsem já," odpověděl Ježíš. "Když hledáte mě, nechte ostatní odejít."

9 (KJV) That the saying might be fulfilled, which he spake, Of them which thou gavest me have I lost none.
9 (B21) (To řekl, aby splnil své slovo: "Z těch, které jsi mi dal, jsem neztratil nikoho.")

10 (KJV) Then Simon Peter having a sword drew it, and smote the high priest's servant, and cut off his right ear. The servant's name was Malchus.
10 (B21) Tehdy Šimon Petr vytasil meč, který měl s sebou, zasáhl veleknězova sluhu a usekl mu pravé ucho. Ten sluha se jmenoval Malchus.

11 (KJV) Then said Jesus unto Peter, Put up thy sword into the sheath: the cup which my Father hath given me, shall I not drink it?
11 (B21) "Vrať ten meč do pochvy," řekl Ježíš Petrovi. "Nemám snad pít kalich, který mi dal Otec?"

12 (KJV) Then the band and the captain and officers of the Jews took Jesus, and bound him,
12 (B21) Oddíl s velitelem a s židovskou stráží tehdy Ježíše zatkli a spoutali.

13 (KJV) And led him away to Annas first; for he was father in law to Caiaphas, which was the high priest that same year.

14 (KJV) Now Caiaphas was he, which gave counsel to the Jews, that it was expedient that one man should die for the people.

15 (KJV) And Simon Peter followed Jesus, and so did another disciple: that disciple was known unto the high priest, and went in with Jesus into the palace of the high priest.

16 (KJV) But Peter stood at the door without. Then went out that other disciple, which was known unto the high priest, and spake unto her that kept the door, and brought in Peter.

17 (KJV) Then saith the damsel that kept the door unto Peter, Art not thou also one of this man's disciples? He saith, I am not.

18 (KJV) And the servants and officers stood there, who had made a fire of coals; for it was cold: and they warmed themselves: and Peter stood with them, and warmed himself.
18 (B21) Protože bylo chladno, otroci a strážní rozdělali oheň. Stáli okolo a ohřívali se. Petr tam stál a ohříval se s nimi.

19 (KJV) The high priest then asked Jesus of his disciples, and of his doctrine.
19 (B21) Velekněz Ježíše vyslýchal ohledně jeho učedníků a jeho učení.

20 (KJV) Jesus answered him, I spake openly to the world; I ever taught in the synagogue, and in the temple, whither the Jews always resort; and in secret have I said nothing.

21 (KJV) Why askest thou me? ask them which heard me, what I have said unto them: behold, they know what I said.
21 (B21) Proč se ptáš mě? Zeptej se těch, kdo mě slyšeli mluvit. Ti vědí, co jsem říkal."

22 (KJV) And when he had thus spoken, one of the officers which stood by struck Jesus with the palm of his hand, saying, Answerest thou the high priest so?
22 (B21) Když to řekl, jeden z kolemstojících strážných udeřil Ježíše do tváře: "Takhle se odpovídá veleknězi?"

23 (KJV) Jesus answered him, If I have spoken evil, bear witness of the evil: but if well, why smitest thou me?
23 (B21) "Jestli jsem řekl něco špatného, dokaž to," odpověděl mu Ježíš. "Jestli ne, tak proč mě biješ?"

24 (KJV) Now Annas had sent him bound unto Caiaphas the high priest.
24 (B21) Annáš ho tedy poslal v poutech k veleknězi Kaifášovi.

25 (KJV) And Simon Peter stood and warmed himself. They said therefore unto him, Art not thou also one of his disciples? He denied it, and said, I am not.

26 (KJV) One of the servants of the high priest, being his kinsman whose ear Peter cut off, saith, Did not I see thee in the garden with him?

27 (KJV) Peter then denied again: and immediately the cock crew.
27 (B21) Petr ho však znovu zapřel. Vtom zakokrhal kohout.

28 (KJV) Then led they Jesus from Caiaphas unto the hall of judgment: and it was early; and they themselves went not into the judgment hall, lest they should be defiled; but that they might eat the passover.
28 (B21) Ježíše zatím vedli od Kaifáše do prokurátorova paláce. Právě svítalo. Sami ovšem do paláce nevešli, aby se neposkvrnili před Hodem beránka,

29 (KJV) Pilate then went out unto them, and said, What accusation bring ye against this man?
29 (B21) a tak Pilát vyšel k nim. "Z čeho tohoto muže viníte?" ptal se.

30 (KJV) They answered and said unto him, If he were not a malefactor, we would not have delivered him up unto thee.
30 (B21) "Kdyby to nebyl zločinec, nevodili bychom ho k tobě," odpověděli.

31 (KJV) Then said Pilate unto them, Take ye him, and judge him according to your law. The Jews therefore said unto him, It is not lawful for us to put any man to death:
31 (B21) "Nechte si ho," řekl jim Pilát. "Suďte ho podle vlastního zákona." "My nesmíme nikoho popravit," odpověděli židovští představení.

32 (KJV) That the saying of Jesus might be fulfilled, which he spake, signifying what death he should die.

33 (KJV) Then Pilate entered into the judgment hall again, and called Jesus, and said unto him, Art thou the King of the Jews?

34 (KJV) Jesus answered him, Sayest thou this thing of thyself, or did others tell it thee of me?

35 (KJV) Pilate answered, Am I a Jew? Thine own nation and the chief priests have delivered thee unto me: what hast thou done?
35 (B21) "Jsem snad Žid?" řekl Pilát. "Tvůj národ a vrchní kněží mi tě vydali. Co jsi udělal?"

36 (KJV) Jesus answered, My kingdom is not of this world: if my kingdom were of this world, then would my servants fight, that I should not be delivered to the Jews: but now is my kingdom not from hence.
36 (B21) "Mé království není z tohoto světa," odpověděl Ježíš. "Kdyby mé království bylo z tohoto světa, moji služebníci by bojovali, abych nebyl vydán židovským vůdcům. Mé království ale není odsud."

37 (KJV) Pilate therefore said unto him, Art thou a king then? Jesus answered, Thou sayest that I am a king. To this end was I born, and for this cause came I into the world, that I should bear witness unto the truth. Every one that is of the truth heareth my voice.

38 (KJV) Pilate saith unto him, What is truth? And when he had said this, he went out again unto the Jews, and saith unto them, I find in him no fault at all.
38 (B21) "Co je pravda?" odtušil Pilát. Po těch slovech vyšel znovu ven k Židům. "Podle mě je nevinný," řekl jim.

39 (KJV) But ye have a custom, that I should release unto you one at the passover: will ye therefore that I release unto you the King of the Jews?

40 (KJV) Then cried they all again, saying, Not this man, but Barabbas. Now Barabbas was a robber.
40 (B21) Tehdy začali křičet: "Toho ne! Pusť Barabáše!" (A ten Barabáš byl zločinec.)

Jn 18,5 - "Ja som", pozri poznámku k 8, 24. Ku Kristovi, teda k Bohu, sa má pristúpiť s bázňou a úctou (Ex 19, 22 a 2 Sam 6, 7).

Jn 18,12-27 - Mt 26, 57-75; Mk 14, 53-72; Lk 22, 54-71.

Jn 18,28 - 1 - Mt 27, 2. 11-30; Mk 15, 1-19; Lk 23, 1-25.

Jn 18,28 - O výsluchu pred Kajfášom Ján nehovorí, o to podrobnejšie opisuje súdne rokovanie pred Pilátom. - Počas veľkonočných sviatkov býval Pilát v úradnej budove. Vojsť do domu pohana znamenalo poškvrniť sa. Rímska vláda si vyhradila potvrdenie a výkonné právo rozsudkov smrti. Preto museli ísť Židia pred prokurátora Piláta do vládnej budovy na hrade Antonia. - Podľa úradného kalendára až v piatok večer sa v tom roku slávila veľkonočná večera a jedol baránok. Teda Kristus umrel vtedy, keď 14. nisan, dátum veľkonočnej večere, pripadol na piatok. Podľa mienky niektorých autorov to bolo 7. apríla r. 30.

Jn 18,32 - Ježiš predpovedal (Jn 3, 14; 12, 32), že zomrie smrťou na kríži.
