Lk 4, 1-44

1 (CPDV) And Jesus, filled with the Holy Spirit, returned from the Jordan. And he was urged by the Spirit into the wilderness
1 (KAT) Ježiš sa vrátil od Jordánu plný Ducha Svätého. Duch ho vodil štyridsať dní po púšti

2 (CPDV) for forty days, and he was tested by the devil. And he ate nothing in those days. And when they were completed, he was hungry.
2 (KAT) a diabol ho pokúšal. V tých dňoch nič nejedol. A keď sa skončili, vyhladol.

3 (CPDV) Then the devil said to him, “If you are the Son of God, speak to this stone, so that it may be made into bread.”
3 (KAT) Tu mu diabol povedal: „Ak si Boží Syn, povedz tomuto kameňu, aby sa stal chlebom.“

4 (CPDV) And Jesus answered him, “It is written: ‘Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word of God.’ ”
4 (KAT) Ježiš mu odvetil: „Napísané je: »Nielen z chleba žije človek.«“

5 (CPDV) And the devil led him onto a high mountain, and he showed him all the kingdoms of the world in a moment of time,
5 (KAT) Potom ho diabol vyzdvihol, v jedinom okamihu mu ukázal všetky kráľovstvá sveta

6 (CPDV) and he said to him: “To you, I will give all this power, and its glory. For they have been handed over to me, and I give them to whomever I wish.
6 (KAT) a vravel mu: „Dám ti všetku ich moc a slávu, lebo som ju dostal a dám ju komu chcem.

7 (CPDV) Therefore, if you will worship before me, all will be yours.”
7 (KAT) Ak sa mi teda budeš klaňať, všetka bude tvoja.“

8 (CPDV) And in response, Jesus said to him: “It is written: ‘You shall worship the Lord your God, and you shall serve him alone.’ ”
8 (KAT) Ježiš mu povedal: „Je napísané: »Pánovi, svojmu Bohu, sa budeš klaňať a jedine jemu budeš slúžiť.«“

9 (CPDV) And he brought him to Jerusalem, and he set him on the parapet of the temple, and he said to him: “If you are the Son of God, cast yourself down from here.
9 (KAT) Potom ho zaviedol do Jeruzalema, postavil ho na vrchol chrámu a povedal mu: „Ak si Boží Syn, vrhni sa stadeto dolu,

10 (CPDV) For it is written that he has given his Angels charge over you, so that they may guard you,
10 (KAT) veď je napísané: »Svojim anjelom dá príkaz o tebe, aby ťa chránili,«

11 (CPDV) and so that they may take you into their hands, lest perhaps you may hurt your foot against a stone.”

12 (CPDV) And in response, Jesus said to him, “It is said: ‘You shall not tempt the Lord your God.’ ”
12 (KAT) Ježiš mu odvetil: „Je povedané: »Nebudeš pokúšať Pána, svojho Boha.«“

13 (CPDV) And when all the temptation was completed, the devil withdrew from him, until a time.

14 (CPDV) And Jesus returned, in the power of the Spirit, into Galilee. And his fame spread throughout the entire region.

15 (CPDV) And he taught in their synagogues, and he was magnified by everyone.
15 (KAT) Učil v ich synagógach a všetci ho oslavovali.

16 (CPDV) And he went to Nazareth, where he had been raised. And he entered into the synagogue, according to his custom, on the Sabbath day. And he rose up to read.
16 (KAT) Prišiel aj do Nazareta, kde vyrástol. Podľa svojho zvyku vošiel v sobotu do synagógy a vstal, aby čítal.

17 (CPDV) And the book of the prophet Isaiah was handed to him. And as he unrolled the book, he found the place where it was written:
17 (KAT) Podali mu knihu proroka Izaiáša. Keď knihu rozvinul, našiel miesto, kde bolo napísané:

18 (CPDV) “The Spirit of the Lord is upon me; because of this, he has anointed me. He has sent me to evangelize the poor, to heal the contrite of heart,

19 (CPDV) to preach forgiveness to captives and sight to the blind, to release the broken into forgiveness, to preach the acceptable year of the Lord and the day of retribution.”
19 (KAT) a ohlásiť Pánov milostivý rok.“

20 (CPDV) And when he had rolled up the book, he returned it to the minister, and he sat down. And the eyes of everyone in the synagogue were fixed on him.
20 (KAT) Potom knihu zvinul, vrátil ju sluhovi a sadol si.

21 (CPDV) Then he began to say to them, “On this day, this scripture has been fulfilled in your hearing.”

22 (CPDV) And everyone gave testimony to him. And they wondered at the words of grace that proceeded from his mouth. And they said, “Is this not the son of Joseph?”

23 (CPDV) And he said to them: “Certainly, you will recite to me this saying, ‘Physician, heal yourself.’ The many great things that we have heard were done in Capernaum, do here also in your own country.”
23 (KAT) On im vravel: „Akiste mi pripomeniete príslovie: Lekár, lieč sám seba!

24 (CPDV) Then he said: “Amen I say to you, that no prophet is accepted in his own country.
24 (KAT) A dodal: „Veru, hovorím vám: Ani jeden prorok nie je vzácny vo svojej vlasti.

25 (CPDV) In truth, I say to you, there were many widows in the days of Elijah in Israel, when the heavens were closed for three years and six months, when a great famine had occurred throughout the entire land.

26 (CPDV) And to none of these was Elijah sent, except to Zarephath of Sidon, to a woman who was a widow.
26 (KAT) A ani k jednej z nich nebol poslaný Eliáš, iba k onej vdove do Sarepty v Sidone.

27 (CPDV) And there were many lepers in Israel under the prophet Elisha. And none of these was cleansed, except Naaman the Syrian.”
27 (KAT) A mnoho malomocných bolo v Izraeli za proroka Elizea, a ani jeden z nich nebol očistený, iba Sýrčan Náman.“

28 (CPDV) And all those in the synagogue, upon hearing these things, were filled with anger.
28 (KAT) Keď to počuli, všetkých v synagóge zachvátil hnev.

29 (CPDV) And they rose up and drove him beyond the city. And they brought him all the way to the edge of the mount, upon which their city had been built, so that they might thrown him down violently.

30 (CPDV) But passing through their midst, he went away.
30 (KAT) Ale on prešiel pomedzi nich a odišiel.

31 (CPDV) And he descended to Capernaum, a city of Galilee. And there he taught them on the Sabbaths.
31 (KAT) Zišiel do galilejského mesta Kafarnaum. Po sobotách ich učil

32 (CPDV) And they were astonished at his doctrine, for his word was spoken with authority.
32 (KAT) a oni žasli nad jeho učením, lebo jeho slovo malo moc.

33 (CPDV) And in the synagogue, there was a man who had an unclean demon, and he cried out with a loud voice,
33 (KAT) V synagóge bol muž posadnutý duchom nečistého démona. Ten vykríkol veľkým hlasom:

34 (CPDV) saying: “Let us alone. What are we to you, Jesus of Nazareth? Have you come to destroy us? I know you who you are: the Holy One of God.”
34 (KAT) „Nechaj nás! Čo ťa do nás, Ježiš Nazaretský?! Prišiel si nás zničiť? Viem, kto si: Boží Svätý.“

35 (CPDV) And Jesus rebuked him, saying, “Be silent and depart from him.” And when the demon had thrown him into their midst, he departed from him, and he no longer harmed him.
35 (KAT) Ježiš mu pohrozil: „Mlč a vyjdi z neho!“ Zlý duch ho hodil medzi nich, vyšiel z neho a neublížil mu.

36 (CPDV) And fear fell over them all. And they discussed this among themselves, saying: “What is this word? For with authority and power he commands the unclean spirits, and they depart.”
36 (KAT) Všetkých pojal strach a navzájom si vraveli: „Čo je to za slovo, že mohutnou silou rozkazuje nečistým duchom a oni vychádzajú?“

37 (CPDV) And his fame spread to every place in the region.

38 (CPDV) Then Jesus, rising up from the synagogue, entered into the house of Simon. Now Simon’s mother-in-law was in the grip of a severe fever. And they petitioned him on her behalf.
38 (KAT) Keď vyšiel zo synagógy, vošiel do Šimonovho domu. Šimonovu testinú trápila vysoká horúčka a oni ho prosili za ňu.

39 (CPDV) And standing over her, he commanded the fever, and it left her. And promptly rising up, she ministered to them.
39 (KAT) Postavil sa nad ňu, rozkázal horúčke a tá ju opustila. Hneď vstala a obsluhovala ich.

40 (CPDV) Then, when the sun had set, all those who had anyone afflicted with various diseases brought them to him. Then, laying his hands on each one of them, he cured them.

41 (CPDV) Now demons departed from many of them, crying out and saying, “You are the son of God.” And rebuking them, he would not permit them to speak. For they knew him to be the Christ.
41 (KAT) Z mnohých vychádzali aj zlí duchovia a kričali: „Ty si Boží Syn.“ On im pohrozil a nedovolil im hovoriť, lebo vedeli, že on je Mesiáš.

42 (CPDV) Then, when it was daytime, going out, he went to a deserted place. And the crowds sought him, and they went all the way to him. And they detained him, so that he would not depart from them.

43 (CPDV) And he said to them, “I must also preach the kingdom of God to other cities, because it was for this reason that I was sent.”
43 (KAT) On im však povedal: „Aj iným mestám musím zvestovať Božie kráľovstvo, lebo na to som poslaný.“

44 (CPDV) And he was preaching in the synagogues of Galilee.
44 (KAT) A kázal po judejských synagógach.
