1 (HEM) ויהי בימים ההם ותצא דת מאת הקיסר אוגוסטוס לספר את כל ישבי תבל׃
1 (VUL) Factum est autem, in diebus il lis exiit edictum a Caesare Au gusto, ut describeretur universus orbis.
1 (KAT) V tých dňoch vyšiel rozkaz od cisára Augusta vykonať súpis ľudu po celom svete.
1 (UKJV) And it came to pass in those days, that there went out a decree from Caesar Augustus that all the world should be taxed.

2 (HEM) וזה המפקד היה הראשון בהיות קוריניוס שליט בסוריא׃
2 (VUL) Haec descriptio prima facta est praeside Syriae Quirino.
2 (KAT) Tento prvý súpis sa konal, keď Sýriu spravoval Kvirínius.
2 (UKJV) (And this taxing was first made when Cyrenius was governor of Syria.)

3 (HEM) וילכו כלם להתפקד איש לעירו׃
3 (VUL) Et ibant omnes, ut profiterentur, singuli in suam civitatem.
3 (KAT) A všetci šli dať sa zapísať, každý do svojho mesta.
3 (UKJV) And all went to be taxed, every one into his own city.

4 (HEM) ויעל גם יוסף מן הגליל מעיר נצרת אל יהודה לעיר דוד הנקראה בית לחם כי היה מבית דוד וממשפחתו׃
4 (VUL) Ascendit autem et Ioseph a Galilaea de civitate Nazareth in Iudaeam in civitatem David, quae vocatur Bethlehem, eo quod esset de domo et familia David,
4 (KAT) Vybral sa aj Jozef z galilejského mesta Nazaret do Judey, do Dávidovho mesta, ktoré sa volá Betlehem lebo pochádzal z Dávidovho domu a rodu,
4 (UKJV) "And Joseph also went up from Galilee, out of the city of Nazareth, into Judaea, unto the city of David, which is called Bethlehem; (because he was of the house and lineage of David:) "

5 (HEM) להתפקד עם מרים המארשה לו והיא הרה׃
5 (VUL) ut profiteretur cum Maria desponsata sibi, uxore praegnante.
5 (KAT) aby sa dal zapísať s Máriou, svojou manželkou, ktorá bola v po žehnanom stave.
5 (UKJV) To be taxed with Mary his espoused wife, being great with child.

6 (HEM) ויהי בהיותם שם וימלאו ימיה ללדת׃
6 (VUL) Factum est autem, cum essent ibi, impleti sunt dies, ut pareret,
6 (KAT) Kým tam boli, nadišiel jej čas pôrodu.
6 (UKJV) And so it was, that, while they were there, the days were accomplished that she should be delivered.

7 (HEM) ותלד את בנה הבכור ותחתלהו ותשכיבהו באבוס כי לא היה להם מקום במלון׃
7 (VUL) et peperit filium suum primogenitum; et pannis eum involvit et reclinavit eum in praesepio, quia non erat eis locus in deversorio.
7 (KAT) I porodila svojho prvorodeného syna, zavinula ho do plienok a uložila do jasieľ, lebo pre nich nebolo miesta v hostinci.
7 (UKJV) "And she brought forth her firstborn son, and wrapped him in swaddling clothes, and laid him in a crib; because there was no room for them in the inn. "

8 (HEM) ורעים היו בארץ ההיא לנים בשדה ושמרים את משמרות הלילה בעדרם׃
8 (VUL) Et pastores erant in regione eadem vigilantes et custodientes vigilias noctis supra gregem suum.
8 (KAT) V tom istom kraji boli pastieri, ktorí v noci bdeli a strážili svoje stádo.
8 (UKJV) And there were in the same country shepherds abiding in the field, keeping watch over their flock by night.

9 (HEM) והנה מלאך יהוה נצב עליהם וכבוד יהוה הופיע עליהם מסביב וייראו יראה גדולה׃
9 (VUL) Et angelus Domini stetit iuxta illos, et claritas Domini circumfulsit illos, et timuerunt timore magno.
9 (KAT) Tu zastal pri nich Pánov anjel a ožiarila ich Pánova sláva. Zmocnil sa ich veľký strach,
9 (UKJV) And, lo, the angel of the Lord came upon them, and the glory of the Lord shone round about them: and they were sore afraid.

10 (HEM) ויאמר אליהם המלאך אל תיראו כי הנני מבשר אתכם שמחה גדולה אשר תהיה לכל העם׃
10 (VUL) Et dixit illis angelus: “ Nolite timere; ecce enim evangelizo vobis gaudium magnum, quod erit omni populo,
10 (KAT) ale anjel im povedal: „Nebojte sa! Zvestujem vám veľkú radosť, ktorá bude patriť všetkým ľuďom:
10 (UKJV) And the angel said unto them, Fear not: for, behold, I bring you good tidings of great joy, which shall be to all people.

11 (HEM) כי היום ילד לכם בעיר דוד מושיע אשר הוא המשיח האדון׃
11 (VUL) quia natus est vobis hodie Salvator, qui est Christus Dominus, in civitate David.
11 (KAT) Dnes sa vám v Dávidovom meste narodil Spasiteľ, Kristus Pán.
11 (UKJV) For unto you is born this day in the city of David a Saviour, which is Christ the Lord.

12 (HEM) וזה לכם האות תמצאון ילד מחתל ומנח באבוס׃
12 (VUL) Et hoc vobis signum: invenietis infantem pannis involutum et positum in praesepio ”.
12 (KAT) A toto vám bude znamením: Nájdete dieťatko zavinuté do plienok a uložené v jasliach.“
12 (UKJV) "And this shall be a sign unto you; All of you shall find the babe wrapped in swaddling clothes, lying in a crib. "

13 (HEM) ויהי פתאם אצל המלאך המון צבא השמים והם משבחים את האלהים ואמרים׃
13 (VUL) Et subito facta est cum angelo multitudo militiae caelestis laudantium Deum et dicentium:
13 (KAT) A hneď sa k anjelovi pripojilo množstvo nebeských zástupov, zvelebovali Boha a hovorili:
13 (UKJV) And suddenly there was with the angel a multitude of the heavenly host praising God, and saying,

14 (HEM) כבוד במרומים לאלהים ובארץ שלום בבני אדם רצונו׃
14 (VUL) “ Gloria in altissimis Deo, et super terram pax in hominibus bonae voluntatis ”.
14 (KAT) „Sláva Bohu na výsostiach a na zemi pokoj ľuďom dobrej vôle.“
14 (UKJV) Glory to God in the highest, and on earth peace, good will toward men.

15 (HEM) ויהי כאשר עלו מעליהם המלאכים השמימה ויאמרו הרעים איש אל רעהו נעברה נא עד בית לחם ונראה המעשה הזה אשר הודיענו יהוה׃
15 (VUL) Et factum est, ut discesserunt ab eis angeli in caelum, pastores loquebantur ad invicem: “ Transeamus usque Bethlehem et videamus hoc verbum, quod factum est, quod Dominus ostendit nobis ”.
15 (KAT) Keď anjeli odišli od nich do neba, pastieri si povedali: „Poďme teda do Betlehema a pozrime, čo sa to stalo, ako nám oznámil Pán.“
15 (UKJV) And it came to pass, as the angels were gone away from them into heaven, the shepherds said one to another, Let us now go even unto Bethlehem, and see this thing (o. rhema) which has come to pass, which the Lord has made known unto us.

16 (HEM) וימהרו לבוא וימצאו את מרים ואת יוסף ואת הילד שכב באבוס׃
16 (VUL) Et venerunt festinantes et invenerunt Mariam et Ioseph et infantem positum in praesepio.
16 (KAT) Poponáhľali sa a našli Máriu a Jozefa i dieťa uložené v jasliach.
16 (UKJV) And they came with haste, and found Mary, and Joseph, and the babe lying in a crib.

17 (HEM) ויראו וישמיעו את הדבר הנאמר אליהם על הגער הזה׃
17 (VUL) Videntes autem notum fecerunt verbum, quod dictum erat illis de puero hoc.
17 (KAT) Keď ich videli, vyrozprávali, čo im bolo povedané o tomto dieťati.
17 (UKJV) And when they had seen it, they made known abroad the saying (o. rhema) which was told them concerning this child.

18 (HEM) וכל השמעים תמהו על הדברים אשר דברו אליהם הרעים׃
18 (VUL) Et omnes, qui audierunt, mirati sunt de his, quae dicta erant a pastoribus ad ipsos.
18 (KAT) A všetci, ktorí to počúvali, divili sa nad tým, čo im pastieri rozprávali.
18 (UKJV) And all they that heard it wondered at those things which were told them by the shepherds.

19 (HEM) ומרים שמרה את הדברים האלה ותחשבם בלבה׃
19 (VUL) Maria autem conservabat omnia verba haec conferens in corde suo.
19 (KAT) Ale Mária zachovávala všetky tieto slová vo svojom srdci a premýšľala o nich.
19 (UKJV) But Mary kept all these things, (o. rhema) and pondered them in her heart.

20 (HEM) וישובו הרעים מהללים ומשבחים את האלהים על כל אשר שמעו וראו כפי אשר נאמר אליהם׃
20 (VUL) Et reversi sunt pastores glorificantes et laudantes Deum in omnibus, quae audierant et viderant, sicut dictum est ad illos.
20 (KAT) Pastieri sa potom vrátili a oslavovali a chválili Boha za všetko, čo počuli a videli, ako im bolo povedané.
20 (UKJV) And the shepherds returned, glorifying and praising God for all the things that they had heard and seen, as it was told unto them.

21 (HEM) ויהי במלאת לנער שמנה ימים וימול ויקרא שמו ישוע כשם אשר קרא לו המלאך בטרם הרה בבטן׃
21 (VUL) Et postquam consummati sunt dies octo, ut circumcideretur, vocatum est nomen eius Iesus, quod vocatum est ab angelo, priusquam in utero conciperetur.
21 (KAT) Po ôsmich dňoch, keď ho bolo treba obrezať, dali mu meno Ježiš, ktorým ho anjel nazval skôr, ako sa počal v živote matky.
21 (UKJV) And when eight days were accomplished for the circumcising of the child, his name was called JESUS, which was so named of the angel before he was conceived in the womb.

22 (HEM) וימלאו ימי טהרה לפי תורת משה ויעלהו לירושלים להעמידו לפני יהוה׃
22 (VUL) Et postquam impleti sunt dies purgationis eorum secundum legem Moysis, tulerunt illum in Hierosolymam, ut sisterent Domino,
22 (KAT) Keď uplynuli podľa Mojžišovho zákona dni ich očisťovania, priniesli ho do Jeruzalema, aby ho predstavili Pánovi,
22 (UKJV) "And when the days of her purification according to the law of Moses were accomplished, they brought him to Jerusalem, to present him to the Lord; "

23 (HEM) כאשר כתוב בתורת יהוה כל זכר פטר רחם יקרא קדש ליהוה׃
23 (VUL) sicut scriptum est in lege Domini: “ Omne masculinum adaperiens vulvam sanctum Domino vocabitur ”,
23 (KAT) ako je napísané v Pánovom zákone: „Všetko mužského rodu, čo otvára lono matky, bude zasvätené Pánovi,“
23 (UKJV) "(As it is written in the law of the LORD, Every male that opens the womb shall be called holy to the Lord;) "

24 (HEM) ולתת קרבן כאמור בתורת יהוה שתי תרים או שני בני יונה׃
24 (VUL) et ut darent hostiam secundum quod dictum est in lege Domini: par turturum aut duos pullos columbarum.
24 (KAT) a aby obetovali, ako káže Pánov zákon, pár hrdličiek alebo dva holúbky.
24 (UKJV) And to offer a sacrifice according to that which is said in the law of the Lord, A pair of turtledoves, or two young pigeons.

25 (HEM) והנה איש היה בירושלים ושמו שמעון והוא איש צדיק וחסיד מחכה לנחמת ישראל ורוח הקדש היה עליו׃
25 (VUL) Et ecce homo erat in Ierusalem, cui nomen Simeon, et homo iste iustus et timoratus, exspectans consolationem Israel, et Spiritus Sanctus erat super eum;
25 (KAT) V Jeruzaleme žil vtedy muž menom Simeon, človek spravodlivý a nábožný, ktorý očakával potechu Izraela, a Duch Svätý bol na ňom.
25 (UKJV) "And, behold, there was a man in Jerusalem, whose name was Simeon; and the same man was just and devout, waiting for the consolation of Israel: and the Holy Spirit (o. pneuma) was upon him. "

26 (HEM) ולו נגלה ברוח הקדש כי לא יראה מות עד ראותו את משיח יהוה׃
26 (VUL) et responsum acceperat ab Spiritu Sancto non visurum se mortem nisi prius videret Christum Domini.
26 (KAT) Jemu Duch Svätý vyjavil, že neumrie, kým neuvidí Pánovho Mesiáša.
26 (UKJV) And it was revealed unto him by the Holy Spirit, (o. pneuma) that he should not see death, before he had seen the Lord's Christ.

27 (HEM) ויבא ברוח אל המקדש ויהי כאשר הביאו הוריו את הנער ישוע לעשות עליו כמשפט התורה׃
27 (VUL) Et venit in Spiritu in templum. Et cum inducerent puerum Iesum parentes eius, ut facerent secundum consuetudinem legis pro eo,
27 (KAT) Z vnuknutia Ducha prišiel do chrámu. A keď rodičia prinášali dieťa Ježiša, aby splnili, čo o ňom predpisoval zákon,
27 (UKJV) And he came by the Spirit (o. pneuma) into the temple: and when the parents brought in the child Jesus, to do for him after the custom of the law,

28 (HEM) ויקחהו על זרעותיו ויברך את האלהים ויאמר׃
28 (VUL) et ipse accepit eum in ulnas suas et benedixit Deum et dixit:
28 (KAT) vzal ho aj on do svojho náručia a velebil Boha slovami:
28 (UKJV) Then took he him up in his arms, and blessed God, and said,

29 (HEM) עתה תפטר את עבדך כדברך אדני בשלום׃
29 (VUL) “ Nunc dimittis servum tuum, Domine, secundum verbum tuum in pace,
29 (KAT) „Teraz prepustíš, Pane, svojho služobníka v pokoji podľa svojho slova,
29 (UKJV) Lord, now let you your servant depart in peace, according to your word: (o. rhema)

30 (HEM) כי ראו עיני את ישועתך׃
30 (VUL) quia viderunt oculi mei salutare tuum,
30 (KAT) lebo moje oči uvideli tvoju spásu,
30 (UKJV) For mine eyes have seen your salvation,

31 (HEM) אשר הכינות לפני כל העמים׃
31 (VUL) quod parasti ante faciem omnium populorum,
31 (KAT) ktorú si pripravil pred tvárou všetkých národov:
31 (UKJV) "Which you have prepared before the face of all people; "

32 (HEM) אור לגלות עיני הגוים ותפארת ישראל עמך׃
32 (VUL) lumen ad revelationem gentium et gloriam plebis tuae Israel ”.
32 (KAT) svetlo na osvietenie pohanov a slávu Izraela, tvojho ľudu.“
32 (UKJV) A light to lighten the Gentiles, and the glory of your people Israel.

33 (HEM) ויוסף ואמו תמהים על הדברים הנאמרים עליו׃
33 (VUL) Et erat pater eius et mater mirantes super his, quae dicebantur de illo.
33 (KAT) Jeho otec a matka divili sa tomu, čo sa o ňom hovorilo.
33 (UKJV) And Joseph and his mother marvelled at those things which were spoken of him.

34 (HEM) ויברך אותם שמעון ויאמר אל מרים אמו הנה זה מוסד לנפילה ולתקומה לרבים בישראל ולאות מריבה׃
34 (VUL) Et benedixit illis Simeon et dixit ad Mariam matrem eius: “ Ecce positus est hic in ruinam et resurrectionem multorum in Israel et in signum, cui contradicetur
34 (KAT) Simeon ich požehnal a Márii, jeho matke, povedal: „On je ustanovený na pád a na povstanie pre mnohých v Izraeli a na znamenie, ktorému budú odporovať,
34 (UKJV) "And Simeon blessed them, and said unto Mary his mother, Behold, this child is set for the fall and rising again of many in Israel; and for a sign which shall be spoken against; "

35 (HEM) וגם בנפשך תחתר חרב למען תגלינה מחשבות לבב רבים׃
35 (VUL) — et tuam ipsius animam pertransiet gladius — ut revelentur ex multis cordibus cogitationes ”.
35 (KAT) - a tvoju vlastnú dušu prenikne meč -, aby vyšlo najavo zmýšľanie mnohých sŕdc.“
35 (UKJV) (Yea, a sword shall pierce through your own soul also,) that the thoughts of many hearts may be revealed.

36 (HEM) ותהי שם חנה אשה נביאה בת פנואל משבט אשר והיא באה בימים וחיתה עם בעלה שבע שנים אחרי בתוליה׃
36 (VUL) Et erat Anna prophetissa, filia Phanuel, de tribu Aser. Haec processerat in diebus multis et vixerat cum viro annis septem a virginitate sua;
36 (KAT) Žila vtedy aj prorokyňa Anna, Fanuelova dcéra, z Aserovho kmeňa. Bola už vo vysokom veku. Od svojho panenstva žila so svojím mužom sedem rokov,
36 (UKJV) "And there was one Anna, a prophetess, the daughter of Phanuel, of the tribe of Aser: she was of a great age, and had lived with an husband seven years from her virginity; "

37 (HEM) והיא אלמנה כארבע ושמנים שנה ולא משה מן המקדש ובצום ובתחנונים עבדה את האלהים לילה ויום׃
37 (VUL) et haec vidua usque ad annos octoginta quattuor, quae non discedebat de templo, ieiuniis et obsecrationibus serviens nocte ac die.
37 (KAT) potom ako vdova do osemdesiateho štvrtého roku. Z chrámu neodchádzala, vo dne v noci slúžila Bohu pôstom a modlitbami.
37 (UKJV) And she was a widow of about fourscore and four years, which departed not from the temple, but served God with fastings and prayers night and day.

38 (HEM) ותקם בשעה ההיא ותגש להדות ליהוה ותדבר עליו באזני כל המחכים לגאלה בירושלים׃
38 (VUL) Et haec ipsa hora superveniens confitebatur Deo et loquebatur de illo omnibus, qui exspectabant redemptionem Ierusalem.
38 (KAT) Práve v tú chvíľu prišla aj ona, velebila Boha a hovorila o ňom všetkým, čo očakávali vykúpenie Jeruzalema.
38 (UKJV) And she coming in that instant gave thanks likewise unto the Lord, and spoke of him to all them that looked for redemption in Jerusalem.

39 (HEM) ויכלו את הכל כפי תורת יהוה וישובו הגלילה אל נצרת עירם׃
39 (VUL) Et ut perfecerunt omnia secundum legem Domini, reversi sunt in Galilaeam in civitatem suam Nazareth.
39 (KAT) A keď vykonali všetko podľa Pánovho zákona, vrátili sa do Galiley, do svojho mesta Nazareta.
39 (UKJV) And when they had performed all things according to the law of the Lord, they returned into Galilee, to their own city Nazareth.

40 (HEM) ויגדל הנער ויחזק ברוח וימלא חכמה וחסד אלהים עמו׃
40 (VUL) Puer autem crescebat et confortabatur plenus sapientia; et gratia Dei erat super illum.
40 (KAT) Chlapec rástol a mocnel, plný múdrosti, a Božia milosť bola na ňom.
40 (UKJV) And the child grew, and waxed strong in spirit, (o. pneuma) filled with wisdom: and the grace of God was upon him.

41 (HEM) ועלו הוריו ירושלים שנה בשנה לחג הפסח׃
41 (VUL) Et ibant parentes eius per omnes annos in Ierusalem in die festo Paschae.
41 (KAT) Jeho rodičia chodievali každý rok do Jeruzalema na veľkonočné sviatky.
41 (UKJV) Now his parents went to Jerusalem every year at the feast of the passover.

42 (HEM) ויהי בהיותו בן שתים עשרה שנה ויעלו ירושלים כמשפט החג׃
42 (VUL) Et cum factus esset annorum duodecim, ascendentibus illis secundum consuetudinem diei festi,
42 (KAT) Keď mal dvanásť rokov, tiež išli, ako bývalo na sviatky zvykom.
42 (UKJV) And when he was twelve years old, they went up to Jerusalem after the custom of the feast.

43 (HEM) וימלאו את הימים וישובו ויותר ישוע הנער בירושלים ויוסף ואמו לא ידעו׃
43 (VUL) consummatisque diebus, cum redirent, remansit puer Iesus in Ierusalem, et non cognoverunt parentes eius.
43 (KAT) A keď sa dni slávností skončili a oni sa vracali domov, zostal chlapec Ježiš v Jeruzaleme, čo jeho rodičia nezbadali.
43 (UKJV) "And when they had fulfilled the days, as they returned, the child Jesus tarried behind in Jerusalem; and Joseph and his mother knew not of it. "

44 (HEM) ויחשבו כי עם חבל הארחים הוא וילכו כדרך יום ויבקשהו בין הקרובים והמידעים׃
44 (VUL) Existimantes autem illum esse in comitatu, venerunt iter diei et requirebant eum inter cognatos et notos;
44 (KAT) Nazdávali sa, že je v sprievode. Prešli deň cesty a hľadali ho medzi príbuznými a známymi.
44 (UKJV) "But they, supposing him to have been in the company, went a day's journey; and they sought him among their kinsfolk and acquaintance. "

45 (HEM) ולא מצאהו וישבו ירושלים לבקשו׃
45 (VUL) et non invenientes regressi sunt in Ierusalem requirentes eum.
45 (KAT) No nenašli. Vrátili sa teda do Jeruzalema a tam ho hľadali.
45 (UKJV) And when they found him not, they turned back again to Jerusalem, seeking him.

46 (HEM) ויהי אחרי שלשת ימים וימצאהו במקדש ישב בתוך המורים שמע אליהם ושאל אתם׃
46 (VUL) Et factum est, post triduum invenerunt illum in templo sedentem in medio doctorum, audientem illos et interrogantem eos;
46 (KAT) Po troch dňoch ho našli v chráme. Sedel medzi učiteľmi, počúval ich a kládol im otázky.
46 (UKJV) And it came to pass, that after three days they found him in the temple, sitting in the midst of the doctors, both hearing them, and asking them questions.

47 (HEM) וכל השמעים אליו השתוממו על שכלו ועל תשובתיו׃
47 (VUL) stupebant autem omnes, qui eum audiebant, super prudentia et responsis eius.
47 (KAT) Všetci, čo ho počuli, žasli nad jeho rozumnosťou a odpoveďami.
47 (UKJV) And all that heard him were astonished at his understanding and answers.

48 (HEM) ויהי כראותם אתו ויחרדו ותאמר אליו אמו בני מדוע ככה עשית לנו הנה אביך ואנכי בעצבת לב בקשנוך׃
48 (VUL) Et videntes eum admirati sunt, et dixit Mater eius ad illum: “ Fili, quid fecisti nobis sic? Ecce pater tuus et ego dolentes quaerebamus te ”.
48 (KAT) Keď ho zazreli, stŕpli od údivu a Matka mu povedala: „Syn môj, čo si nám to urobil? Pozri, tvoj otec i ja sme ťa s bolesťou hľadali!“
48 (UKJV) And when they saw him, they were amazed: and his mother said unto him, Son, why have you thus dealt with us? behold, your father and I have sought you sorrowing.

49 (HEM) ויאמר אליהם למה זה בקשתם אתי הלא ידעתם כי עלי להיות באשר לאבי׃
49 (VUL) Et ait ad illos: “ Quid est quod me quaerebatis? Nesciebatis quia in his, quae Patris mei sunt, oportet me esse? ”.
49 (KAT) On im odpovedal: „Prečo ste ma hľadali? Nevedeli ste, že mám byť tam, kde ide o môjho Otca?“
49 (UKJV) And he said unto them, How is it that all of you sought me? know all of you not that I must be about my Father's business?

50 (HEM) והם לא הבינו את הדבר אשר דבר אליהם׃
50 (VUL) Et ipsi non intellexerunt verbum, quod locutus est ad illos.
50 (KAT) Ale oni nepochopili slovo, ktoré im hovoril.
50 (UKJV) And they understood not the saying (o. rhema) which he spoke unto them.

51 (HEM) וירד אתם ויבא אל נצרת ויכנע להם ואמו שמרה בלבה את כל הדברים האלה׃
51 (VUL) Et descendit cum eis et venit Nazareth et erat subditus illis. Et mater eius conservabat omnia verba in corde suo.
51 (KAT) Potom sa s nimi vrátil do Nazareta a bol im poslušný. A jeho matka zachovávala všetky slová vo svojom srdci.
51 (UKJV) And he went down with them, and came to Nazareth, and was subject unto them: but his mother kept all these sayings (o. rhema) in her heart.
