(CPDV - Anglický - Catholic PD)

Lk 16, 1-31

1 (CPDV) And he also said to his disciples: “A certain man was wealthy, and he had a steward of his estate. And this man was accused to him of having dissipated his goods.

2 (CPDV) And he called him and said to him: ‘What is this that I hear about you? Give an account of your stewardship. For you can no longer be my steward.’
2 (ROH) A zavolajúc ho povedal mu: Čo to čujem o tebe? Vydaj počet zo svojej správy, lebo nebudeš môcť ďalej spravovať.

3 (CPDV) And the steward said within himself: ‘What shall I do? For my lord is taking the stewardship away from me. I am not strong enough to dig. I am too ashamed to beg.
3 (ROH) Vtedy povedal správca sám v sebe: Čo urobím, keďže môj pán odníma odo mňa správu? Kopať nevládzem, žobrať sa hanbím.

4 (CPDV) I know what I will do so that, when I have been removed from the stewardship, they may receive me into their houses.’
4 (ROH) Viem, čo urobím, aby ma, keď budem odstránený zo správy, prijali do svojich domov.

5 (CPDV) And so, calling together each one of his lord’s debtors, he said to the first, ‘How much do you owe my lord?’
5 (ROH) A zavolajúc si jedného každého z dlžníkov svojho pána povedal prvému: Koľko si dlžen môjmu pánovi?

6 (CPDV) So he said, ‘One hundred jars of oil.’ And he said to him, ‘Take your invoice, and quickly, sit down and write fifty.’
6 (ROH) A on odpovedal: Sto batov oleja. A on mu povedal: Vezmi svoj zápis, sadni rýchle a napíš päťdesiat!

7 (CPDV) Next, he said to another, ‘In truth, how much do you owe?’ And he said, ‘One hundred measures of wheat.’ He said to him, ‘Take your record books, and write eighty.’
7 (ROH) Potom povedal inému: A ty koľkože dlhuješ? A on povedal: Sto korcov pšenice. A povedal mu: Vezmi svoj zápis a napíš osemdesiat!

8 (CPDV) And the lord praised the iniquitous steward, in that he had acted prudently. For the sons of this age are more prudent with their generation than are the sons of light.
8 (ROH) A pán pochválil nespravedlivého správcu, že opatrne urobil. Lebo synovia tohoto sveta sú opatrnejší nad synov svetla čo do svojho pokolenia.

9 (CPDV) And so I say to you, make friends for yourself using iniquitous mammon, so that, when you will have passed away, they may receive you into the eternal tabernacles.
9 (ROH) I ja vám hovorím: Robte si priateľov z nespravedlivého mamona, aby vás, keď sa pominie a nebude už mať pre vás ceny, prijali do večných stánov.

10 (CPDV) Whoever is faithful in what is least, is also faithful in what is greater. And whoever is unjust in what is small, is also unjust in what is greater.

11 (CPDV) So then, if you have not been faithful with iniquitous mammon, who will trust you with what is true?
11 (ROH) Ak tedy neboli ste verní v nespravedlivom mamone, ktože vám potom sverí to, čo je pravé?

12 (CPDV) And if you have not been faithful with what belongs to another, who will give you what is yours?
12 (ROH) A jestli ste neboli verní v cudzom, kto vám dá to, čo je vaše?

13 (CPDV) No servant is able to serve two lords. For either he will hate the one and love the other, or he will cling to the one and despise the other. You cannot serve God and mammon.”
13 (ROH) Niktorí čeľadín nemôže slúžiť dvom pánom, lebo buď jedného bude nenávidieť a druhého milovať, buď jedného sa bude pridŕžať a druhým bude pohŕdať. Nemôžeme slúžiť Bohu aj mamonu.

14 (CPDV) But the Pharisees, who were greedy, were listening to all these things. And they ridiculed him.
14 (ROH) A počúvali to všetko aj farizeovia, ktorí mali radi peniaze, a posmievali sa mu.

15 (CPDV) And he said to them: “You are the ones who justify yourselves in the sight of men. But God knows your hearts. For what is lifted up by men is an abomination in the sight of God.
15 (ROH) A on im povedal: Vy ste tí, ktorí sa sami robia spravedlivými pred ľuďmi, ale Bôh zná vaše srdcia, lebo to, čo je vysoké u ľudí, je ohavnosťou pred Bohom.

16 (CPDV) The law and the prophets were until John. Since then, the kingdom of God is being evangelized, and everyone acts with violence toward it.

17 (CPDV) But it is easier for heaven and earth to pass away, than for one dot of the law to fall away.

18 (CPDV) Everyone who divorces his wife and marries another commits adultery. And whoever marries her who has been divorced by her husband commits adultery.
18 (ROH) Každý, kto prepúšťa svoju ženu a berie si inú, cudzoloží; a každý, kto si berie prepustenú od muža, cudzoloží.

19 (CPDV) A certain man was wealthy, and he was clothed in purple and in fine linen. And he feasted splendidly every day.

20 (CPDV) And there was a certain beggar, named Lazarus, who lay at his gate, covered with sores,

21 (CPDV) wanting to be filled with the crumbs which were falling from the wealthy man’s table. But no one gave it to him. And even the dogs came and licked his sores.

22 (CPDV) Then it happened that the beggar died, and he was carried by the Angels into the bosom of Abraham. Now the wealthy man also died, and he was entombed in Hell.

23 (CPDV) Then lifting up his eyes, while he was in torments, he saw Abraham far away, and Lazarus in his bosom.
23 (ROH) Potom v pekle, v mukách, pozdvihnul svoje oči a videl Abraháma zďaleka a Lazara v jeho lone.

24 (CPDV) And crying out, he said: ‘Father Abraham, take pity on me and send Lazarus, so that he may dip the tip of his finger in water to refresh my tongue. For I am tortured in this fire.’
24 (ROH) Vtedy zavolal boháč a povedal: Otče Abraháme, zmiluj sa nado mnou a pošli Lazara, aby omočil koniec svojho prsta vo vode a ovlažil môj jazyk, lebo sa mučím v tomto plameni.

25 (CPDV) And Abraham said to him: ‘Son, recall that you received good things in your life, and in comparison, Lazarus received bad things. But now he is consoled, and truly you are tormented.

26 (CPDV) And besides all this, between us and you a great chaos has been established, so that those who might want to cross from here to you are not able, nor can someone cross from there to here.’
26 (ROH) A nad to nado všetko medzi nami a vami je upevnená veliká priepasť, aby tí, ktorí chcú prejsť odtiaľto k vám, nemohli, ani aby sa tí tamztade k nám nedostali.

27 (CPDV) And he said: ‘Then, father, I beg you to send him to my father’s house, for I have five brothers,
27 (ROH) A povedal im: Prosím ťa tedy, otče, žeby si ho poslal do domu môjho otca,

28 (CPDV) so that he may testify to them, lest they also come into this place of torments.’
28 (ROH) lebo mám päť bratov, nech im dôrazne svedčí, aby neprišli aj oni do tohoto miesta múk.

29 (CPDV) And Abraham said to him: ‘They have Moses and the prophets. Let them listen to them.’
29 (ROH) A Abrahám mu povedal: Majú Mojžiša a prorokov, nech tých počúvajú!

30 (CPDV) So he said: ‘No, father Abraham. But if someone were to go to them from the dead, they would repent.’
30 (ROH) A on povedal: Nie, otče Abraháme, ale keby niekto z mŕtvych išiel k nim, budú činiť pokánie.

31 (CPDV) But he said to him: ‘If they will not listen to Moses and the prophets, neither will they believe even if someone has resurrected from the dead.’ ”
31 (ROH) Na to mu povedal Abrahám: Ak nepočúvajú Mojžiša a prorokov, neuverili by, ani keby niekto vstal z mŕtvych.

Podobenstvo nám chce povedať: "Ako vedia ľudia použiť všetku svoju múdrosť a vynaložiť všetku námahu na zaistenie svojej pozemskej budúcnosti, tak majú aj kresťania, ,synovia svetla', využiť prítomnosť v záujme budúcnosti svojej duše."
