Lk 14, 1-35

1 (CPDV) And it happened that, when Jesus entered the house of a certain leader of the Pharisees on the Sabbath to eat bread, they were observing him.
1 (ROH) A stalo sa, keď raz v sobotu vošiel do domu ktoréhosi z kniežat farizeov jesť chlieb, že oni, farizeovia, ho pozorovali.

2 (CPDV) And behold, a certain man before him was afflicted with edema.
2 (ROH) A hľa, bol pred ním nejaký vodnateľný človek.

3 (CPDV) And responding, Jesus spoke to the experts in the law and to the Pharisees, saying, “Is it lawful to cure on the Sabbath?”
3 (ROH) A Ježiš odpovedal a riekol zákonníkom a farizeom: Či sa smie v sobotu uzdravovať a či nie?

4 (CPDV) But they kept silent. Yet truly, taking hold of him, he healed him and sent him away.
4 (ROH) Ale oni mlčali. A on pochytiac človeka uzdravil ho a prepustil.

5 (CPDV) And responding to them, he said, “Which of you will have a donkey or an ox fall into a pit, and will not promptly pull him out, on the day of the Sabbath?”
5 (ROH) A im povedal: Ktorého z vás osol alebo vôl padne do jamy a nevytiahne ho hneď v sobotný deň?

6 (CPDV) And they were unable to respond to him about these things.
6 (ROH) A nemohli mu odpovedať na to.

7 (CPDV) Then he also told a parable, to those who were invited, noticing how they chose the first seats at the table, saying to them:
7 (ROH) A pozvaným povedal podobenstvo pozorujúc, ako si vyberali predné miesta, a riekol im:

8 (CPDV) “When you are invited to a wedding, do not sit down in the first place, lest perhaps someone more honored than yourself may have been invited by him.
8 (ROH) Keďby si bol od niekoho pozvaný na svadbu, nesadaj si na predné miesto, aby snáď nebol od neho pozvaný aj niekto vzácnejší ako ty,

9 (CPDV) And then he who called both you and him, approaching, may say to you, ‘Give this place to him.’ And then you would begin, with shame, to take the last place.
9 (ROH) a neprišiel, kto teba i tamtoho pozval, a nepovedal ti: Daj tomuto miesto, a vtedy by si započal s hanbou zaujímať najposlednejšie miesto.

10 (CPDV) But when you are invited, go, sit down in the lowest place, so that, when he who invited you arrives, he may say to you, ‘Friend, go up higher.’ Then you will have glory in the sight of those who sit at table together with you.
10 (ROH) Ale keď ťa pozvú, iď a sadni si na posledné miesto, aby, keď prijde ten, kto ťa pozval, povedal ti: Priateľu, sadni si vyššie! Vtedy budeš mať chválu pred všetkými svojimi spolustolujúcimi.

11 (CPDV) For everyone who exalts himself shall be humbled, and whoever humbles himself shall be exalted.”
11 (ROH) Lebo každý, kto sa povyšuje, bude ponížený: a kto sa ponižuje, bude povýšený.

12 (CPDV) Then he also said to the one who had invited him: “When you prepare a lunch or dinner, do not choose to call your friends, or your brothers, or your relatives, or your wealthy neighbors, lest perhaps they might then invite you in return and repayment would made to you.
12 (ROH) A povedal aj tomu, ktorý ho pozval: Keď strojíš obed alebo večeru, nevolaj svojich priateľov ani svojich bratov ani svojich príbuzných ani bohatých súsedov, aby ťa snáď aj oni zato tiež nepozvali, a mal by si odplatu.

13 (CPDV) But when you prepare a feast, call the poor, the disabled, the lame, and the blind.
13 (ROH) Ale keď robíš hostinu, povolaj chudobných, chromých, krivých a slepých

14 (CPDV) And you will be blessed because they do not have a way to repay you. So then, your recompense will be in the resurrection of the just.”
14 (ROH) a budeš blahoslavený, pretože ti nemajú čím odplatiť, lebo ti bude odplatené pri vzkriesení spravedlivých.

15 (CPDV) When someone sitting at table with him had heard these things, he said to him, “Blessed is he who will eat bread in the kingdom of God.”
15 (ROH) Keď to počul ktorýsi zo spolustolujúcich, povedal mu: Blahoslavený, kto jie chlieb v kráľovstve Božom!

16 (CPDV) So he said to him: “A certain man prepared a great feast, and he invited many.
16 (ROH) Ale on mu povedal: Nejaký človek urobil veľkú večeru a pozval mnohých.

17 (CPDV) And he sent his servant, at the hour of the feast, to tell the invited to come; for now everything was ready.
17 (ROH) A v hodinu večere poslal svojho sluhu, aby povedal pozvaným: Poďte, lebo je už všetko hotové.

18 (CPDV) And at once they all began to make excuses. The first said to him: ‘I bought a farm, and I need to go out and see it. I ask you to excuse me.’
18 (ROH) Ale oni sa začali všetci jednomyseľne vyhovárať. Prvý mu povedal: Kúpil som pole a musím vyjsť a vidieť ho. Prosím ťa, omluv ma!

19 (CPDV) And another said: ‘I bought five yoke of oxen, and I am going to examine them. I ask you to excuse me.’
19 (ROH) A iný povedal: Kúpil som päť párov volov a idem ich zkúsiť. Prosím ťa, omluv ma.

20 (CPDV) And another said, ‘I have taken a wife, and therefore I am not able to go.’
20 (ROH) A zase iný povedal: Oženil som sa, a preto nemôžem prijsť.

21 (CPDV) And returning, the servant reported these things to his lord. Then the father of the family, becoming angry, said to his servant: ‘Go out quickly into the streets and neighborhoods of the city. And lead here the poor, and the disabled, and the blind, and the lame.’
21 (ROH) A sluha navrátiac sa zvestoval to svojmu pánovi. Vtedy sa rozhneval domáci pán a povedal svojmu sluhovi: Vyjdi rýchle do ulíc a uličiek mesta a uveď sem chudobných, chromých, krivých a slepých!

22 (CPDV) And the servant said: ‘It has been done, just as you ordered, lord, and there is still room.’
22 (ROH) A sluha povedal: Pane, stalo sa, jako si nariadil, a ešte je miesto.

23 (CPDV) And the lord said to the servant: ‘Go out to the highways and hedges, and compel them to enter, so that my house may be filled.
23 (ROH) A pán povedal sluhovi: Vyjdi na cesty a medzi ploty a prinúť vojsť, aby sa naplnil môj dom!

24 (CPDV) For I tell you, that none of those men who were invited will taste of my feast.’ ”
24 (ROH) Lebo hovorím vám, že niktorý z tamtých pozvaných mužov neokúsi mojej večere.

25 (CPDV) Now great crowds traveled with him. And turning around, he said to them:
25 (ROH) A išly s ním mnohé zástupy, a on obrátiac sa povedal im:

26 (CPDV) “If anyone comes to me, and does not hate his father, and mother, and wife, and children, and brothers, and sisters, and yes, even his own life, he is not able to be my disciple.
26 (ROH) Ak ide niekto ku mne a nemá v nenávisti svojho otca i matere, ženy i detí, bratov i sestier, ba ešte len aj svojej vlastnej duše, nemôže byť mojím učeníkom.

27 (CPDV) And whoever does not bear his cross and come after me, is not able to be my disciple.
27 (ROH) A kto nenesie svojho kríža a nejde za mnou, nemôže byť mojím učeníkom.

28 (CPDV) For who among you, wanting to build a tower, would not first sit down and determine the costs that are required, to see if he has the means to complete it?
28 (ROH) Lebo veď ak niekto z vás chce vystaviť vežu, či nesadne prv a nespočíta nákladu, či má toľko, aby mohol dostaviť?

29 (CPDV) Otherwise, after he will have laid the foundation and not been able to finish it, everyone who sees it may begin to mock him,
29 (ROH) Aby snáď, keď by položil základ a nemohol dovŕšiť, nezačali všetci, ktorí by to videli, vysmievať sa mu

30 (CPDV) saying: ‘This man began to build what he was not able to finish.’
30 (ROH) a hovoriť: Tento človek začal staväť a nemohol dovŕšiť.

31 (CPDV) Or, what king, advancing to engage in war against another king, would not first sit down and consider whether he may be able, with ten thousand, to meet one who comes against him with twenty thousand?
31 (ROH) Alebo ktorý kráľ idúc proti inému kráľovi do boja nesadne prv a neporadí sa, či môže s desať tisícami stretnúť sa s tým, ktorý s dvadsať tisícami ide na neho?

32 (CPDV) If not, then while the other is still far away, sending a delegation, he would ask him for terms of peace.
32 (ROH) Lebo ak nie, vtedy, keď ešte bude ďaleko, pošle posolstvo a bude prosiť o pokoj.

33 (CPDV) Therefore, everyone of you who does not renounce all that he possesses is not able to be my disciple.
33 (ROH) Tak teda každý z vás, kto sa nezrieka všetkého, čo má, nemôže byť mojím učeníkom.

34 (CPDV) Salt is good. But if the salt has lost its flavor, with what will it be seasoned?
34 (ROH) Soľ je dobrá, ale ak by soľ ztratila svoju slaň, čím ju napravia?

35 (CPDV) It is useful neither in soil, nor in manure, so instead, it shall be thrown away. Whoever has ears to hear, let him hear.”
35 (ROH) Ani do zeme ani do hnoja sa nehodí; von ju vyhadzujú. Kto má uši nato, aby počul, nech počuje!
