1 (KJV) Then was Jesus led up of the Spirit into the wilderness to be tempted of the devil.
1 (KAT) Potom Duch vyviedol Ježiša na púšť, aby ho diabol pokúšal.
2 (KJV) And when he had fasted forty days and forty nights, he was afterward an hungred.
2 (KAT) A keď sa štyridsať dní a štyridsať nocí postil, napokon vyhladol.
3 (KJV) And when the tempter came to him, he said, If thou be the Son of God, command that these stones be made bread.
3 (KAT) Tu pristúpil pokušiteľ a povedal mu: „Ak si Boží Syn, povedz, nech sa z týchto kameňov stanú chleby.“
4 (KJV) But he answered and said, It is written, Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceedeth out of the mouth of God.
4 (KAT) On odvetil: „Napísané je: »Nielen z chleba žije človek, ale z každého slova, ktoré vychádza z Božích úst.«“
5 (KJV) Then the devil taketh him up into the holy city, and setteth him on a pinnacle of the temple,
5 (KAT) Potom ho diabol vzal do svätého mesta, postavil ho na vrchol chrámu
6 (KJV) And saith unto him, If thou be the Son of God, cast thyself down: for it is written, He shall give his angels charge concerning thee: and in their hands they shall bear thee up, lest at any time thou dash thy foot against a stone.
6 (KAT) a vravel mu: „Ak si Boží Syn, vrhni sa dolu, veď je napísané: »Svojim anjelom dá príkaz o tebe a vezmú ťa na ruky, aby si si neuderil nohu o kameň.«“
7 (KJV) Jesus said unto him, It is written again, Thou shalt not tempt the Lord thy God.
7 (KAT) Ježiš mu povedal: „Ale je aj napísané: »Nebudeš pokúšať Pána, svojho Boha.«“
8 (KJV) Again, the devil taketh him up into an exceeding high mountain, and sheweth him all the kingdoms of the world, and the glory of them;
8 (KAT) A zasa ho diabol vzal na veľmi vysoký vrch, ukázal mu všetky kráľovstvá sveta a ich slávu
9 (KJV) And saith unto him, All these things will I give thee, if thou wilt fall down and worship me.
9 (KAT) a vravel mu: „Toto všetko ti dám, ak padneš predo mnou a budeš sa mi klaňať.“
10 (KJV) Then saith Jesus unto him, Get thee hence, Satan: for it is written, Thou shalt worship the Lord thy God, and him only shalt thou serve.
10 (KAT) Vtedy mu Ježiš povedal: „Odíď, satan, lebo je napísané: »Pánovi, svojmu Bohu, sa budeš klaňať a jedine jemu budeš slúžiť.«“
11 (KJV) Then the devil leaveth him, and, behold, angels came and ministered unto him.
11 (KAT) Tu ho diabol opustil a prišli anjeli a posluhovali mu.
12 (KJV) Now when Jesus had heard that John was cast into prison, he departed into Galilee;
12 (KAT) Keď sa Ježiš dopočul, že Jána uväznili, odobral sa do Galiley.
13 (KJV) And leaving Nazareth, he came and dwelt in Capernaum, which is upon the sea coast, in the borders of Zabulon and Nephthalim:
13 (KAT) Opustil Nazaret a prišiel bývať do pobrežného mesta Kafarnaum,
14 (KJV) That it might be fulfilled which was spoken by Esaias the prophet, saying,
14 (KAT) v končinách Zabulon a Neftali, aby sa splnilo, čo povedal prorok Izaiáš:
15 (KJV) The land of Zabulon, and the land of Nephthalim, by the way of the sea, beyond Jordan, Galilee of the Gentiles;
15 (KAT) „Krajina Zabulon a krajina Neftali, na ceste k moru, za Jordánom, Galilea pohanov!
16 (KJV) The people which sat in darkness saw great light; and to them which sat in the region and shadow of death light is sprung up.
16 (KAT) Ľud bývajúci v temnotách uvidel veľké svetlo. Svetlo zažiarilo tým, čo sedeli v temnom kraji smrti.“
17 (KJV) From that time Jesus began to preach, and to say, Repent: for the kingdom of heaven is at hand.
17 (KAT) Od tej chvíle začal Ježiš hlásať: „Robte pokánie, lebo sa priblížilo nebeské kráľovstvo.“
18 (KJV) And Jesus, walking by the sea of Galilee, saw two brethren, Simon called Peter, and Andrew his brother, casting a net into the sea: for they were fishers.
18 (KAT) Keď raz kráčal popri Galilejskom mori, videl dvoch bratov, Šimona, ktorý sa volá Peter, a jeho brata Ondreja, ako spúšťajú sieť do mora; boli totiž rybármi.
19 (KJV) And he saith unto them, Follow me, and I will make you fishers of men.
19 (KAT) I povedal im: „Poďte za mnou a urobím z vás rybárov ľudí.“
20 (KJV) And they straightway left their nets, and followed him.
20 (KAT) Oni hneď zanechali siete a išli za ním.
21 (KJV) And going on from thence, he saw other two brethren, James the son of Zebedee, and John his brother, in a ship with Zebedee their father, mending their nets; and he called them.
21 (KAT) Ako šiel odtiaľ ďalej, videl iných dvoch bratov, Jakuba Zebedejovho a jeho brata Jána, ako na lodi so svojím otcom Zebedejom opravujú siete; aj ich povolal.
22 (KJV) And they immediately left the ship and their father, and followed him.
22 (KAT) Oni hneď zanechali loď i svojho otca a išli za ním.
23 (KJV) And Jesus went about all Galilee, teaching in their synagogues, and preaching the gospel of the kingdom, and healing all manner of sickness and all manner of disease among the people.
23 (KAT) A Ježiš chodil po celej Galilei, učil v ich synagógach, hlásal evanjelium o kráľovstve a uzdravoval každý neduh a každú chorobu medzi ľudom.
24 (KJV) And his fame went throughout all Syria: and they brought unto him all sick people that were taken with divers diseases and torments, and those which were possessed with devils, and those which were lunatick, and those that had the palsy; and he healed them.
24 (KAT) Povesť o ňom sa rozniesla po celej Sýrii. Prinášali k nemu všetkých chorých, postihnutých rozličnými neduhmi a trápením, posadnutých zlými duchmi, námesačníkov a ochrnutých, a on ich uzdravoval.
25 (KJV) And there followed him great multitudes of people from Galilee, and from Decapolis, and from Jerusalem, and from Judaea, and from beyond Jordan.
25 (KAT) A šli za ním veľké zástupy z Galiley a Dekapola, z Jeruzalema, Judey a Zajordánska.

Verš 1
Then was Jesus led up of the Spirit into the wilderness to be tempted of the devil.
Mk 1:12 - And immediately the Spirit driveth him into the wilderness.

Verš 4
But he answered and said, It is written, Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceedeth out of the mouth of God.
Dt 8:3 - And he humbled thee, and suffered thee to hunger, and fed thee with manna, which thou knewest not, neither did thy fathers know; that he might make thee know that man doth not live by bread only, but by every word that proceedeth out of the mouth of the LORD doth man live.

And saith unto him, If thou be the Son of God, cast thyself down: for it is written, He shall give his angels charge concerning thee: and in their hands they shall bear thee up, lest at any time thou dash thy foot against a stone.
Ž 91:11 - For he shall give his angels charge over thee, to keep thee in all thy ways.

Jesus said unto him, It is written again, Thou shalt not tempt the Lord thy God.
Dt 6:16 - Ye shall not tempt the LORD your God, as ye tempted him in Massah.
Verš 10
Then saith Jesus unto him, Get thee hence, Satan: for it is written, Thou shalt worship the Lord thy God, and him only shalt thou serve.
Dt 6:13 - Thou shalt fear the LORD thy God, and serve him, and shalt swear by his name.
Dt 10:20 - Thou shalt fear the LORD thy God; him shalt thou serve, and to him shalt thou cleave, and swear by his name.

Now when Jesus had heard that John was cast into prison, he departed into Galilee;
Mk 1:14 - Now after that John was put in prison, Jesus came into Galilee, preaching the gospel of the kingdom of God,
Lk 4:14 - And Jesus returned in the power of the Spirit into Galilee: and there went out a fame of him through all the region round about.
Lk 4:16 - And he came to Nazareth, where he had been brought up: and, as his custom was, he went into the synagogue on the sabbath day, and stood up for to read.
Lk 4:31 - And came down to Capernaum, a city of Galilee, and taught them on the sabbath days.
Jn 4:43 - Now after two days he departed thence, and went into Galilee.
Verš 15
The land of Zabulon, and the land of Nephthalim, by the way of the sea, beyond Jordan, Galilee of the Gentiles;
Iz 9:1 - Nevertheless the dimness shall not be such as was in her vexation, when at the first he lightly afflicted the land of Zebulun and the land of Naphtali, and afterward did more grievously afflict her by the way of the sea, beyond Jordan, in Galilee of the nations.

From that time Jesus began to preach, and to say, Repent: for the kingdom of heaven is at hand.

Mt 4,1-11 - Mk 1, 12–13; Lk 4, 1–13.
Mt 4,1 - "Duch", t. j. ten, ktorý zostúpil na neho po krste. Je to Duch Svätý. – Pustatina, kde sa Ježiš postil, je – podľa tradície – Kvarantánia, severozápadne od Jericha. Divoké skaliská boli útočišťom divej zveri (Mk 1, 13). – Ježiš dovolil toto pokúšanie na naše poučenie.

Mt 4,12 - "Odobral sa do Galiley" – z Judey (porov. Jn 4, 3).
Mt 4,15 - Iz 8, 23; 9, 1. "Galilea pohanov" je severná Galilea pri Fenícii a Sýrii; volá sa pohanskou, lebo v nej bývali väčšinou pohania.
Mt 4,18-22 - Mk 1, 16–20; Lk 5, 1–11.
Mt 4,25 - "Dekapol" (desaťmestie) je zväz desiatich, väčšinou helénskych miest, t. j. pohanských miest južne a juhovýchodne od Genezaretského jazera.
