(KJV - Anglický - King James)

Mt 14, 1-36

1 (KJV) At that time Herod the tetrarch heard of the fame of Jesus,
1 (ROH) V tom čase počul Heródes, jedno z tamojších štyroch kniežat, chýr o Ježišovi

2 (KJV) And said unto his servants, This is John the Baptist; he is risen from the dead; and therefore mighty works do shew forth themselves in him.
2 (ROH) a povedal svojim služobníkom: To je Ján Krstiteľ, on vstal z mŕtvych, a preto pôsobia v ňom tie divotvorné moci.

3 (KJV) For Herod had laid hold on John, and bound him, and put him in prison for Herodias' sake, his brother Philip's wife.
3 (ROH) Lebo Heródes chopil Jána a poviazal ho a vsadil do žalára pre Heródiadu, ženu Filipa, svojho brata.

4 (KJV) For John said unto him, It is not lawful for thee to have her.
4 (ROH) Lebo Ján mu hovoril: Nepatrí sa ti ju mať.

5 (KJV) And when he would have put him to death, he feared the multitude, because they counted him as a prophet.

6 (KJV) But when Herod's birthday was kept, the daughter of Herodias danced before them, and pleased Herod.
6 (ROH) Ale potom, keď slávili narodeniny Heródesove, tancovala dcéra Heródiady v prostredku a zaľúbila sa Heródesovi.

7 (KJV) Whereupon he promised with an oath to give her whatsoever she would ask.
7 (ROH) A preto jej sľúbil s prísahou, že jej dá, čokoľvek by si žiadala.

8 (KJV) And she, being before instructed of her mother, said, Give me here John Baptist's head in a charger.
8 (ROH) A ona, súc navedená od svojej matere, povedala: Daj mi tu na mise hlavu Jána Krstiteľa.

9 (KJV) And the king was sorry: nevertheless for the oath's sake, and them which sat with him at meat, he commanded it to be given her.

10 (KJV) And he sent, and beheaded John in the prison.
10 (ROH) A pošlúc kata sťal Jána v žalári.

11 (KJV) And his head was brought in a charger, and given to the damsel: and she brought it to her mother.

12 (KJV) And his disciples came, and took up the body, and buried it, and went and told Jesus.
12 (ROH) Potom tam prišli jeho učeníci, vzali jeho telo a pochovali ho; a prišli a zvestovali to Ježišovi.

13 (KJV) When Jesus heard of it, he departed thence by ship into a desert place apart: and when the people had heard thereof, they followed him on foot out of the cities.
13 (ROH) A keď to počul Ježiš, odišiel odtiaľ na lodi na pusté miesto, osobitne. A počujúc o tom zástupy išly pešo za ním z tých miest.

14 (KJV) And Jesus went forth, and saw a great multitude, and was moved with compassion toward them, and he healed their sick.
14 (ROH) A keď vyšiel odtiaľ Ježiš, videl veliký zástup a zľutoval sa nad nimi a uzdravoval ich chorých.

15 (KJV) And when it was evening, his disciples came to him, saying, This is a desert place, and the time is now past; send the multitude away, that they may go into the villages, and buy themselves victuals.
15 (ROH) A keď bol večer, pristúpili k nemu jeho učeníci a povedali: Miesto je tu pusté, a čas už prešiel; prepusti zástupy, aby odíduc do mestečiek nakúpili si potravy.

16 (KJV) But Jesus said unto them, They need not depart; give ye them to eat.
16 (ROH) Ale Ježiš im povedal: Nie je im treba odísť, dajte im vy jesť.

17 (KJV) And they say unto him, We have here but five loaves, and two fishes.
17 (ROH) A oni mu povedali: Nemáme tu iba päť chlebov a dve ryby.

18 (KJV) He said, Bring them hither to me.
18 (ROH) A on im povedal: Doneste mi ich sem!

19 (KJV) And he commanded the multitude to sit down on the grass, and took the five loaves, and the two fishes, and looking up to heaven, he blessed, and brake, and gave the loaves to his disciples, and the disciples to the multitude.
19 (ROH) A rozkázal zástupom, aby si posadali na tráve, a vzal tých päť chlebov a tie dve ryby a vzhliadnuc do neba požehnal a lámuc dával chleby učeníkom a učeníci dávali zástupom.

20 (KJV) And they did all eat, and were filled: and they took up of the fragments that remained twelve baskets full.
20 (ROH) A jedli všetci a nasýtili sa, a sobrali, čo zostalo zvýšených kúskov, dvanásť plných košov.

21 (KJV) And they that had eaten were about five thousand men, beside women and children.
21 (ROH) A tých, ktorí jedli, bolo asi päť tisíc mužov, krome žien a detí.

22 (KJV) And straightway Jesus constrained his disciples to get into a ship, and to go before him unto the other side, while he sent the multitudes away.
22 (ROH) A Ježiš hneď prinútil svojich učeníkov, aby vstúpili do lode a predišli ho na druhú stranu, dokiaľ by vraj nerozpustil zástupov.

23 (KJV) And when he had sent the multitudes away, he went up into a mountain apart to pray: and when the evening was come, he was there alone.

24 (KJV) But the ship was now in the midst of the sea, tossed with waves: for the wind was contrary.

25 (KJV) And in the fourth watch of the night Jesus went unto them, walking on the sea.

26 (KJV) And when the disciples saw him walking on the sea, they were troubled, saying, It is a spirit; and they cried out for fear.

27 (KJV) But straightway Jesus spake unto them, saying, Be of good cheer; it is I; be not afraid.
27 (ROH) Ale Ježiš hneď prehovoril k nim a povedal: Dúfajte, ja som, nebojte sa!

28 (KJV) And Peter answered him and said, Lord, if it be thou, bid me come unto thee on the water.
28 (ROH) A Peter mu odpovedal a riekol: Pane, ak si to ty, rozkáž mi, aby som prišiel za tebou po vodách.

29 (KJV) And he said, Come. And when Peter was come down out of the ship, he walked on the water, to go to Jesus.
29 (ROH) A on povedal: Poď! A Peter sostúpiac s lode chodil po vodách a prišiel k Ježišovi.

30 (KJV) But when he saw the wind boisterous, he was afraid; and beginning to sink, he cried, saying, Lord, save me.

31 (KJV) And immediately Jesus stretched forth his hand, and caught him, and said unto him, O thou of little faith, wherefore didst thou doubt?
31 (ROH) A Ježiš hneď vystrel ruku, zachytil ho a povedal mu: Človeče malej viery, prečo si pochyboval?

32 (KJV) And when they were come into the ship, the wind ceased.
32 (ROH) A keď vyšli hore do lode, utíchol vietor.

33 (KJV) Then they that were in the ship came and worshipped him, saying, Of a truth thou art the Son of God.
33 (ROH) A tí, ktorí boli na lodi, pristúpili, klaňali sa mu a hovorili: Si naozaj Syn Boží!

34 (KJV) And when they were gone over, they came into the land of Gennesaret.
34 (ROH) A preplaviac sa prišli do zeme Genezareta.

35 (KJV) And when the men of that place had knowledge of him, they sent out into all that country round about, and brought unto him all that were diseased;
35 (ROH) A keď ho poznali mužovia toho miesta, rozposlali poslov po celom tom okolí, a podonášali mu všetkých, ktorí sa zle mali,

36 (KJV) And besought him that they might only touch the hem of his garment: and as many as touched were made perfectly whole.
