1 (KJV) The book of the generation of Jesus Christ, the son of David, the son of Abraham.
1 (B21) Kniha rodu Ježíše Krista, syna Davidova, syna Abrahamova:

2 (KJV) Abraham begat Isaac; and Isaac begat Jacob; and Jacob begat Judas and his brethren;
2 (B21) Abraham zplodil Izáka, Izák zplodil Jákoba, Jákob zplodil Judu a jeho bratry,

3 (KJV) And Judas begat Phares and Zara of Thamar; and Phares begat Esrom; and Esrom begat Aram;
3 (B21) Juda zplodil Perese a Zeracha z Támar, Peres zplodil Checrona, Checron zplodil Rama,

4 (KJV) And Aram begat Aminadab; and Aminadab begat Naasson; and Naasson begat Salmon;

5 (KJV) And Salmon begat Booz of Rachab; and Booz begat Obed of Ruth; and Obed begat Jesse;

6 (KJV) And Jesse begat David the king; and David the king begat Solomon of her that had been the wife of Urias;

8 (KJV) And Asa begat Josaphat; and Josaphat begat Joram; and Joram begat Ozias;

9 (KJV) And Ozias begat Joatham; and Joatham begat Achaz; and Achaz begat Ezekias;

10 (KJV) And Ezekias begat Manasses; and Manasses begat Amon; and Amon begat Josias;
10 (B21) Ezechiáš zplodil Menašeho, Menaše zplodil Amona, Amon zplodil Jošiáše,

11 (KJV) And Josias begat Jechonias and his brethren, about the time they were carried away to Babylon:
11 (B21) Jošiáš zplodil Jekoniáše a jeho bratry a pak přišlo babylonské zajetí.

12 (KJV) And after they were brought to Babylon, Jechonias begat Salathiel; and Salathiel begat Zorobabel;
12 (B21) Po odvlečení do Babylonu Jekoniáš zplodil Šealtiela, Šealtiel zplodil Zerubábela,

13 (KJV) And Zorobabel begat Abiud; and Abiud begat Eliakim; and Eliakim begat Azor;
13 (B21) Zerubábel zplodil Abihuda, Abihud zplodil Eliakima, Eliakim zplodil Azora,

14 (KJV) And Azor begat Sadoc; and Sadoc begat Achim; and Achim begat Eliud;
14 (B21) Azor zplodil Sádoka, Sádok zplodil Achima, Achim zplodil Eliuda,

15 (KJV) And Eliud begat Eleazar; and Eleazar begat Matthan; and Matthan begat Jacob;
15 (B21) Eliud zplodil Eleazara, Eleazar zplodil Matana, Matan zplodil Jákoba

16 (KJV) And Jacob begat Joseph the husband of Mary, of whom was born Jesus, who is called Christ.

17 (KJV) So all the generations from Abraham to David are fourteen generations; and from David until the carrying away into Babylon are fourteen generations; and from the carrying away into Babylon unto Christ are fourteen generations.
17 (B21) Celkem tedy bylo čtrnáct pokolení od Abrahama po Davida, čtrnáct pokolení od Davida po babylonské zajetí a čtrnáct pokolení od babylonského zajetí po Krista.

18 (KJV) Now the birth of Jesus Christ was on this wise: When as his mother Mary was espoused to Joseph, before they came together, she was found with child of the Holy Ghost.
18 (B21) Narození Ježíše Krista se událo takto: Jeho matka Marie byla zasnoubena Josefovi, ale předtím, než se vzali, se ukázalo, že je těhotná z Ducha svatého.

19 (KJV) Then Joseph her husband, being a just man, and not willing to make her a publick example, was minded to put her away privily.
19 (B21) Její muž Josef byl spravedlivý, a protože ji nechtěl veřejně zostudit, rozhodl se, že se s ní rozejde v tichosti.

20 (KJV) But while he thought on these things, behold, the angel of the Lord appeared unto him in a dream, saying, Joseph, thou son of David, fear not to take unto thee Mary thy wife: for that which is conceived in her is of the Holy Ghost.
20 (B21) Když však o tom přemýšlel, hle, ve snu se mu ukázal Hospodinův anděl a řekl: "Josefe, synu Davidův, neboj se vzít si Marii za manželku, neboť to, co v ní bylo počato, je z Ducha svatého.

21 (KJV) And she shall bring forth a son, and thou shalt call his name JESUS: for he shall save his people from their sins.
21 (B21) Porodí syna a dáš mu jméno Ježíš, neboť on zachrání svůj lid od jejich hříchů."

22 (KJV) Now all this was done, that it might be fulfilled which was spoken of the Lord by the prophet, saying,
22 (B21) To vše se stalo, aby se naplnilo, co Hospodin řekl ústy proroka:

23 (KJV) Behold, a virgin shall be with child, and shall bring forth a son, and they shall call his name Emmanuel, which being interpreted is, God with us.
23 (B21) "Hle, panna počne a porodí syna a dají mu jméno Immanuel," což se překládá: Bůh je s námi.

24 (KJV) Then Joseph being raised from sleep did as the angel of the Lord had bidden him, and took unto him his wife:
24 (B21) Když se Josef probudil, zachoval se, jak mu přikázal Hospodinův anděl, a vzal si Marii za manželku.

25 (KJV) And knew her not till she had brought forth her firstborn son: and he called his name JESUS.
25 (B21) Nespal s ní ale až do doby, kdy porodila syna, jemuž dal jméno Ježíš.

Lk 1:31 - And, behold, thou shalt conceive in thy womb, and bring forth a son, and shalt call his name JESUS.

Abraham begat Isaac; and Isaac begat Jacob; and Jacob begat Judas and his brethren;

Gn 21:2 - For Sarah conceived, and bare Abraham a son in his old age, at the set time of which God had spoken to him.

Gn 25:26 - And after that came his brother out, and his hand took hold on Esau's heel; and his name was called Jacob: and Isaac was threescore years old when she bare them.

Gn 29:35 - And she conceived again, and bare a son: and she said, Now will I praise the LORD: therefore she called his name Judah; and left bearing.

And Judas begat Phares and Zara of Thamar; and Phares begat Esrom; and Esrom begat Aram;

Gn 38:27 - And it came to pass in the time of her travail, that, behold, twins were in her womb.

Gn 38:29 - And it came to pass, as he drew back his hand, that, behold, his brother came out: and she said, How hast thou broken forth? this breach be upon thee: therefore his name was called Pharez.

Rút 4:18 - Now these are the generations of Pharez: Pharez begat Hezron,

1Krn 2:5 - The sons of Pharez; Hezron, and Hamul.

Rút 4:19 - And Hezron begat Ram, and Ram begat Amminadab,

1Krn 2:9 - The sons also of Hezron, that were born unto him; Jerahmeel, and Ram, and Chelubai.

And Jesse begat David the king; and David the king begat Solomon of her that had been the wife of Urias;

1Sam 16:1 - And the LORD said unto Samuel, How long wilt thou mourn for Saul, seeing I have rejected him from reigning over Israel? fill thine horn with oil, and go, I will send thee to Jesse the Bethlehemite: for I have provided me a king among his sons.

1Sam 17:12 - Now David was the son of that Ephrathite of Bethlehemjudah, whose name was Jesse; and he had eight sons: and the man went among men for an old man in the days of Saul.

1Krn 2:15 - Ozem the sixth, David the seventh:

1Krn 12:18 - Then the spirit came upon Amasai, who was chief of the captains, and he said, Thine are we, David, and on thy side, thou son of Jesse: peace, peace be unto thee, and peace be to thine helpers; for thy God helpeth thee. Then David received them, and made them captains of the band.

And Solomon begat Roboam; and Roboam begat Abia; and Abia begat Asa;

1Kr 11:43 - And Solomon slept with his fathers, and was buried in the city of David his father: and Rehoboam his son reigned in his stead.

1Krn 3:10 - And Solomon's son was Rehoboam, Abia his son, Asa his son, Jehoshaphat his son,

Verš 11

And Josias begat Jechonias and his brethren, about the time they were carried away to Babylon:

1Krn 3:16 - And the sons of Jehoiakim: Jeconiah his son, Zedekiah his son.

Verš 12

And after they were brought to Babylon, Jechonias begat Salathiel; and Salathiel begat Zorobabel;

1Krn 3:17 - And the sons of Jeconiah; Assir, Salathiel his son,

Ezd 3:2 - Then stood up Jeshua the son of Jozadak, and his brethren the priests, and Zerubbabel the son of Shealtiel, and his brethren, and builded the altar of the God of Israel, to offer burnt offerings thereon, as it is written in the law of Moses the man of God.

Now the birth of Jesus Christ was on this wise: When as his mother Mary was espoused to Joseph, before they came together, she was found with child of the Holy Ghost.

Lk 1:27 - To a virgin espoused to a man whose name was Joseph, of the house of David; and the virgin's name was Mary.

Lk 1:34 - Then said Mary unto the angel, How shall this be, seeing I know not a man?

Verš 21

And she shall bring forth a son, and thou shalt call his name JESUS: for he shall save his people from their sins.

Lk 1:31 - And, behold, thou shalt conceive in thy womb, and bring forth a son, and shalt call his name JESUS.

Sk 4:12 - Neither is there salvation in any other: for there is none other name under heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved.

Verš 23

Behold, a virgin shall be with child, and shall bring forth a son, and they shall call his name Emmanuel, which being interpreted is, God with us.

Iz 7:14 - Therefore the Lord himself shall give you a sign; Behold, a virgin shall conceive, and bear a son, and shall call his name Immanuel.

Verš 25

And knew her not till she had brought forth her firstborn son: and he called his name JESUS.

Lk 2:21 - And when eight days were accomplished for the circumcising of the child, his name was called JESUS, which was so named of the angel before he was conceived in the womb.
