1 (HEM) וישב ישראל בשטים ויחל העם לזנות אל בנות מואב׃
1 (VUL) Morabatur autem Israel in Settim, et incepit populus fornicari cum filiabus Moab,
1 (KAT) Keď sa Izrael zdržiaval v Setime, oddal sa smilstvu s Moabkami.
1 (UKJV) And Israel abode in Shittim, and the people began to commit whoredom with the daughters of Moab.

2 (HEM) ותקראן לעם לזבחי אלהיהן ויאכל העם וישתחוו לאלהיהן׃
2 (VUL) quae vocaverunt populum ad sacrificia deorum suorum. Et illi comederunt et adoraverunt deos earum;
2 (KAT) Ony volali ľud na svoje obety, ktoré prinášali svojim bohom,
2 (UKJV) And they called the people unto the sacrifices of their gods: and the people did eat, and bowed down to their gods.

3 (HEM) ויצמד ישראל לבעל פעור ויחר אף יהוה בישראל׃
3 (VUL) et adhaesit Israel Baalphegor. Et iratus Dominus
3 (KAT) a ľud sa zúčastňoval na ich hodoch, klaňal sa ich bohom, a takto Izrael slúžil Bélfegorovi. Tu vybúšil Pánov hnev proti Izraelovi.
3 (UKJV) And Israel joined himself unto Baalpeor: and the anger of the LORD was kindled against Israel.

4 (HEM) ויאמר יהוה אל משה קח את כל ראשי העם והוקע אותם ליהוה נגד השמש וישב חרון אף יהוה מישראל׃
4 (VUL) ait ad Moysen: “ Tolle cunctos principes populi et suspende eos coram Domino contra solem in patibulis, ut avertatur furor meus ab Israel ”.
4 (KAT) Pán povedal Mojžišovi: „Zober všetkých zvodcov ľudu a povešaj ich kvôli Pánovi oproti slnku, aby sa hrozný Pánov hnev odvrátil od Izraela.“
4 (UKJV) And the LORD said unto Moses, Take all the heads of the people, and hang them up before the LORD against the sun, that the fierce anger of the LORD may be turned away from Israel.

5 (HEM) ויאמר משה אל שפטי ישראל הרגו איש אנשיו הנצמדים לבעל פעור׃
5 (VUL) Dixitque Moyses ad iudices Israel: “ Occidat unusquisque proximos suos, qui adhaeserunt Baalphegor ”.
5 (KAT) A Mojžiš rozkázal všetkým izraelským náčelníkom: „Každý nech zabije svojich ľudí, ktorí sa oddali Bélfegorovi!“
5 (UKJV) And Moses said unto the judges of Israel, Slay all of you every one his men that were joined unto Baalpeor.

6 (HEM) והנה איש מבני ישראל בא ויקרב אל אחיו את המדינית לעיני משה ולעיני כל עדת בני ישראל והמה בכים פתח אהל מועד׃
6 (VUL) Et ecce unus de filiis Israel intravit coram fratribus suis ad Madianitin, vidente Moyse et omni turba filiorum Israel, qui flebant ante fores tabernaculi conventus.
6 (KAT) A tu práve prišiel jeden z Izraelitov k svojim súkmeňovcom a viedol si Madiánčanku pred Mojžišovými očami a pred očami celej pospolitosti Izraelových synov, ktorí nariekali pred vchodom do stánku zjavenia.
6 (UKJV) And, behold, one of the children of Israel came and brought unto his brethren a Midianitish woman in the sight of Moses, and in the sight of all the congregation of the children of Israel, who were weeping before the door of the tabernacle of the congregation.

7 (HEM) וירא פינחס בן אלעזר בן אהרן הכהן ויקם מתוך העדה ויקח רמח בידו׃
7 (VUL) Quod cum vidisset Phinees filius Eleazari filii Aaron sacerdotis, surrexit de medio congregationis et, arrepta lancea,
7 (KAT) Keď to zbadal Finés, syn Eleazara, syna veľkňaza Árona, vstal zo stredu pospolitosti, vzal do ruky kopiju,
7 (UKJV) "And when Phinehas, the son of Eleazar, the son of Aaron the priest, saw it, he rose up from among the congregation, and took a javelin in his hand; "

8 (HEM) ויבא אחר איש ישראל אל הקבה וידקר את שניהם את איש ישראל ואת האשה אל קבתה ותעצר המגפה מעל בני ישראל׃
8 (VUL) ingressus est post virum Israelitem in cubiculum et perfodit ambos simul, virum scilicet et mulierem, in locis genitalibus; cessavitque plaga a filiis Israel.
8 (KAT) šiel za Izraelitom až do skrytého oddelenia stanu a oboch - Izraelitu i ženu - razom prebodol cez pohlavné ústroje. Tu sa razom odvrátila nákaza od Izraelitov.
8 (UKJV) And he went after the man of Israel into the tent, and thrust both of them through, the man of Israel, and the woman through her belly. So the plague was stayed from the children of Israel.

9 (HEM) ויהיו המתים במגפה ארבעה ועשרים אלף׃
9 (VUL) Et occisi sunt viginti quattuor milia hominum.
9 (KAT) Ale tých, čo pomreli na nákazu, bolo už dvadsaťštyritisíc.
9 (UKJV) And those that died in the plague were twenty and four thousand.

10 (HEM) וידבר יהוה אל משה לאמר׃
10 (VUL) Dixitque Dominus ad Moysen:
10 (KAT) Potom Pán hovoril Mojžišovi:
10 (UKJV) And the LORD spoke unto Moses, saying,

11 (HEM) פינחס בן אלעזר בן אהרן הכהן השיב את חמתי מעל בני ישראל בקנאו את קנאתי בתוכם ולא כליתי את בני ישראל בקנאתי׃
11 (VUL) “ Phinees filius Eleazari filii Aaron sacerdotis avertit iram meam a filiis Israel, quia zelo meo commotus est in medio eorum, ut non ipse delerem filios Israel in zelo meo.
11 (KAT) „Finés, syn Áronovho syna Eleazara, odvrátil môj hnev od Izraela, lebo horlil uprostred nich tak, ako ja horlím, a preto som nevyhubil vo svojej horlivosti všetkých Izraelitov.
11 (UKJV) Phinehas, the son of Eleazar, the son of Aaron the priest, has turned my wrath away from the children of Israel, while he was zealous for my sake among them, that I consumed not the children of Israel in my jealousy.

12 (HEM) לכן אמר הנני נתן לו את בריתי שלום׃
12 (VUL) Idcirco loquere ad eum: Ecce do ei pacem foederis mei,
12 (KAT) Preto mu povedz: Hľa, uzavriem s ním zmluvu pokoja
12 (UKJV) Wherefore say, Behold, I give unto him my covenant of peace:

13 (HEM) והיתה לו ולזרעו אחריו ברית כהנת עולם תחת אשר קנא לאלהיו ויכפר על בני ישראל׃
13 (VUL) et erit tam ipsi quam semini eius pactum sacerdotii sempiternum, quia zelatus est pro Deo suo et expiavit scelus filiorum Israel ”.
13 (KAT) a podľa tejto zmluvy bude kňazstvo patriť jemu a jeho potomstvu po ňom naveky; za to, že horlil za svojho Boha a získal zmierenie Izraelitom.“
13 (UKJV) "And he shall have it, and his seed after him, even the covenant of an everlasting priesthood; because he was zealous for his God, and made an atonement for the children of Israel. "

14 (HEM) ושם איש ישראל המכה אשר הכה את המדינית זמרי בן סלוא נשיא בית אב לשמעני׃

16 (HEM) וידבר יהוה אל משה לאמר׃
16 (VUL) Locutusque est Dominus ad Moysen dicens:

17 (HEM) צרור את המדינים והכיתם אותם׃

17 (UKJV) Vex the Midianites, and strike them:

18 (HEM) כי צררים הם לכם בנכליהם אשר נכלו לכם על דבר פעור ועל דבר כזבי בת נשיא מדין אחתם המכה ביום המגפה על דבר פעור׃
18 (VUL) quia ipsi hostiliter egerunt contra vos et decepere insidiis per idolum Phegor et in negotio Cozbi filiae ducis Madian sororis eorum, quae percussa est in die plagae pro sacrilegio Phegor ”.
