1 (HEM) ויסעו בני ישראל ויחנו בערבות מואב מעבר לירדן ירחו׃
1 (VUL) Profectique castrametati sunt filii Israel in campestri bus Moab, ubi trans Iordanem Iericho sita est.
1 (KAT) Potom šli Izraeliti ďalej a utáborili sa na Moabských stepiach pri Jordáne naproti Jerichu.
1 (UKJV) And the children of Israel set forward, and pitched in the plains of Moab on this side Jordan by Jericho.

2 (HEM) וירא בלק בן צפור את כל אשר עשה ישראל לאמרי׃
2 (VUL) Videns autem Balac filius Sephor omnia, quae fecerat Israel Amorraeo,
2 (KAT) Keď Seforov syn Balak videl, čo všetko Izrael urobil Amorejčanom,
2 (UKJV) And Balak the son of Zippor saw all that Israel had done to the Amorites.

3 (HEM) ויגר מואב מפני העם מאד כי רב הוא ויקץ מואב מפני בני ישראל׃
3 (VUL) valde metuit Moab populum, quia multus erat. Et cum pertimeret Moab filios Israel,
3 (KAT) Moab sa veľmi bál tohto národa, lebo bol veľký, a schytila ho hrôza pred Izraelitmi.
3 (UKJV) And Moab was sore afraid of the people, because they were many: and Moab was distressed because of the children of Israel.

4 (HEM) ויאמר מואב אל זקני מדין עתה ילחכו הקהל את כל סביבתינו כלחך השור את ירק השדה ובלק בן צפור מלך למואב בעת ההוא׃
4 (VUL) dixit ad maiores natu Madian: “ Nunc carpet haec congregatio omnem regionem per circuitum, quomodo solet bos herbas campi carpere ”. Balac filius Sephor erat eo tempore rex in Moab.
4 (KAT) Moabčania povedali madiánskym starším: „Tento húf nám požerie všetko vôkol nás, ako dobytok spása trávu na poli!“ A Seforov syn Balak, ktorý bol toho času moabským kráľom,
4 (UKJV) And Moab said unto the elders of Midian, Now shall this company lick up all that are round about us, as the ox licks up the grass of the field. And Balak the son of Zippor was king of the Moabites at that time.

5 (HEM) וישלח מלאכים אל בלעם בן בעור פתורה אשר על הנהר ארץ בני עמו לקרא לו לאמר הנה עם יצא ממצרים הנה כסה את עין הארץ והוא ישב ממלי׃
5 (VUL) Misit ergo nuntios ad Balaam filium Beor in Phethor, quae est super flumen in terra filiorum Ammau, ut vocarent eum et dicerent: “ Ecce egressus est populus ex Aegypto, qui operuit superficiem terrae sedens contra me.
5 (KAT) poslal poslov k Beorovmu synovi Balámovi do Petoru na Eufrate, do krajiny jeho národa, aby ho privolal, a odkázal mu: „Je tu ľud, čo vyšiel z Egypta. Roztiahol sa už po celej krajine a usalašil sa naproti mne.
5 (UKJV) He sent messengers therefore unto Balaam the son of Beor to Pethor, which is by the river of the land of the children of his people, to call him, saying, Behold, there is a people come out from Egypt: behold, they cover the face of the earth, and they abide opposite to me:

6 (HEM) ועתה לכה נא ארה לי את העם הזה כי עצום הוא ממני אולי אוכל נכה בו ואגרשנו מן הארץ כי ידעתי את אשר תברך מברך ואשר תאר יואר׃
6 (VUL) Veni igitur et maledic populo huic, quia fortior me est; si quo modo possim percutere et eicere eum de terra mea. Novi enim quod benedictus sit, cui benedixeris, et maledictus, in quem maledicta congesseris ”.
6 (KAT) Príď teda a prekľaj mi tento ľud, lebo je silnejší ako ja. Možno ho potom porazím a vyženiem z krajiny, lebo viem, že koho ty požehnáš, je požehnaný, a koho ty prekľaješ, je prekliaty.“
6 (UKJV) "Come now therefore, I pray you, curse me this people; for they are too mighty for me: possibly I shall prevail, that we may strike them, and that I may drive them out of the land: for I know that he whom you bless is blessed, and he whom you curse is cursed. "

7 (HEM) וילכו זקני מואב וזקני מדין וקסמים בידם ויבאו אל בלעם וידברו אליו דברי בלק׃
7 (VUL) Perrexeruntque seniores Moab et maiores natu Madian habentes divinationis pretium in manibus. Cumque venissent ad Balaam et narrassent ei omnia verba Balac,
7 (KAT) I vybrali sa moabskí starší a madiánski starší s odmenou za veštbu v rukách, prišli k Balámovi a odovzdali Balakov odkaz.
7 (UKJV) "And the elders of Moab and the elders of Midian departed with the rewards of divination in their hand; and they came unto Balaam, and spoke unto him the words of Balak. "

8 (HEM) ויאמר אליהם לינו פה הלילה והשבתי אתכם דבר כאשר ידבר יהוה אלי וישבו שרי מואב עם בלעם׃
8 (VUL) ille respondit: “ Manete hic nocte, et respondebo quidquid mihi dixerit Dominus ”. Manentibus illis apud Balaam,
8 (KAT) On im povedal: „Ostaňte túto noc tu a potom vám dám odpoveď podľa toho, čo mi povie Pán.“ Moabskí náčelníci ostali teda u Baláma.
8 (UKJV) And he said unto them, Lodge here this night, and I will bring you word again, as the LORD shall speak unto me: and the princes of Moab abode with Balaam.

9 (HEM) ויבא אלהים אל בלעם ויאמר מי האנשים האלה עמך׃
9 (VUL) venit Deus et ait ad eum: “ Quid sibi volunt homines isti apud te? ”.
9 (KAT) Boh prišiel k Balámovi a povedal mu: „Čo sú to za muži u teba?!“
9 (UKJV) And God came unto Balaam, and said, What men are these with you?

10 (HEM) ויאמר בלעם אל האלהים בלק בן צפר מלך מואב שלח אלי׃
10 (VUL) Respondit: “ Balac filius Sephor rex Moabitarum misit ad me
10 (KAT) Balám odpovedal Bohu: „Seforov syn Balak, moabský kráľ, mi odkázal:
10 (UKJV) And Balaam said unto God, Balak the son of Zippor, king of Moab, has sent unto me, saying,

11 (HEM) הנה העם היצא ממצרים ויכס את עין הארץ עתה לכה קבה לי אתו אולי אוכל להלחם בו וגרשתיו׃
11 (VUL) dicens: "Ecce populus, qui egressus est de Aegypto, operuit superficiem terrae; veni et maledic ei pro me, si quo modo possim pugnans abigere eum".
11 (KAT) Je tu ľud, čo vyšiel z Egypta, a roztiahol sa už po celej krajine. Príď teda a zariekni mi ho! Hádam potom budem môcť začať s ním bojovať a vyženiem ho.“
11 (UKJV) "Behold, there is a people come out of Egypt, which covers the face of the earth: come now, curse me them; possibly I shall be able to overcome them, and drive them out. "

12 (HEM) ויאמר אלהים אל בלעם לא תלך עמהם לא תאר את העם כי ברוך הוא׃
12 (VUL) Dixitque Deus ad Balaam: “Noli ire cum eis neque maledicas populo, quia benedictus est ”.
12 (KAT) Boh však povedal Balámovi: „Nesmieš s nimi ísť! Nesmieš prekliať ten ľud, lebo je požehnaný!“
12 (UKJV) "And God said unto Balaam, You shall not go with them; you shall not curse the people: for they are blessed. "

13 (HEM) ויקם בלעם בבקר ויאמר אל שרי בלק לכו אל ארצכם כי מאן יהוה לתתי להלך עמכם׃
13 (VUL) Qui mane consurgens dixit ad principes: “ Ite in terram vestram, quia prohibuit me Dominus venire vobiscum ”.
13 (KAT) Keď Balám ráno vstal, povedal Balakovým náčelníkom: „Choďte len do svojej krajiny, lebo Pán mi nedovolil ísť s vami.“
13 (UKJV) And Balaam rose up in the morning, and said unto the princes of Balak, Get you into your land: for the LORD refuses to give me leave to go with you.

14 (HEM) ויקומו שרי מואב ויבאו אל בלק ויאמרו מאן בלעם הלך עמנו׃
14 (VUL) Reversi principes dixerunt ad Balac: “ Noluit Balaam venire nobiscum ”.
14 (KAT) Moabskí predáci sa pobrali, a keď došli k Balakovi, povedali mu: „Balám sa zdráhal ísť s nami.“
14 (UKJV) And the princes of Moab rose up, and they went unto Balak, and said, Balaam refuses to come with us.

15 (HEM) ויסף עוד בלק שלח שרים רבים ונכבדים מאלה׃
15 (VUL) Rursum ille multo plures et nobiliores, quam ante miserat, misit.
15 (KAT) Nato Balak opäť poslal popredných mužov, viacerých a vznešenejších, ako boli prví.
15 (UKJV) And Balak sent yet again princes, more, and more honourable than they.

16 (HEM) ויבאו אל בלעם ויאמרו לו כה אמר בלק בן צפור אל נא תמנע מהלך אלי׃
16 (VUL) Qui cum venissent ad Balaam, dixerunt: “ Sic dicit Balac filius Sephor: "Ne cuncteris venire ad me;
16 (KAT) Keď prišli k Balámovi, povedali mu: „Toto odkazuje Seforov syn Balak: Neotáľaj prísť ku mne!
16 (UKJV) And they came to Balaam, and said to him, Thus says Balak the son of Zippor, Let nothing, I pray you, hinder you from coming unto me:

17 (HEM) כי כבד אכבדך מאד וכל אשר תאמר אלי אעשה ולכה נא קבה לי את העם הזה׃
17 (VUL) paratus sum honorare te et, quidquid volueris, dabo tibi. Veni et maledic pro me populo isti" ”.
17 (KAT) Bohato ťa odmením a urobím všetko, čo mi povieš. Len príď a zariekni mi tento ľud!“
17 (UKJV) For I will promote you unto very great honour, and I will do whatsoever you say unto me: come therefore, I pray you, curse me this people.

18 (HEM) ויען בלעם ויאמר אל עבדי בלק אם יתן לי בלק מלא ביתו כסף וזהב לא אוכל לעבר את פי יהוה אלהי לעשות קטנה או גדולה׃
18 (VUL) Respondit Balaam: “ Si dederit mihi Balac plenam domum suam argenti et auri, non potero transgredi verbum Domini Dei mei, ut vel plus vel minus loquar.
18 (KAT) Ale Balám odvetil Balakovým služobníkom: „Keby mi dal Balak toľko striebra a zlata, koľko sa zmestí do jeho domu, nebudem môcť robiť proti rozkazu Pána, svojho Boha, ani viac, ani menej.
18 (UKJV) And Balaam answered and said unto the servants of Balak, If Balak would give me his house full of silver and gold, I cannot go beyond the word of the LORD my God, to do less or more.

19 (HEM) ועתה שבו נא בזה גם אתם הלילה ואדעה מה יסף יהוה דבר עמי׃
19 (VUL) Obsecro, ut hic maneatis etiam hac nocte, et scire queam quid mihi rursum respondeat Dominus ”.
19 (KAT) Ale zostaňte tu aj vy túto noc, aby ste sa dozvedeli, čo mi ďalej povie Pán.“
19 (UKJV) Now therefore, I pray you, tarry all of you also here this night, that I may know what the LORD will say unto me more.

20 (HEM) ויבא אלהים אל בלעם לילה ויאמר לו אם לקרא לך באו האנשים קום לך אתם ואך את הדבר אשר אדבר אליך אתו תעשה׃
20 (VUL) Venit ergo Deus ad Balaam nocte et ait ei: “ Si vocare te venerunt homines isti, surge et vade cum eis, ita dumtaxat, ut, quod tibi praecepero, facias ”.
20 (KAT) Pán za noci prišiel k Balámovi a povedal mu: „Ak ťa títo mužovia prišli zavolať, tak sa vyber a choď s nimi! Ale smieš robiť len to, čo ti prikážem ja!“
20 (UKJV) "And God came unto Balaam at night, and said unto him, If the men come to call you, rise up, and go with them; but yet the word which I shall say unto you, that shall you do. "

21 (HEM) ויקם בלעם בבקר ויחבש את אתנו וילך עם שרי מואב׃
21 (VUL) Surrexit Balaam mane et, strata asina sua, profectus est cum eis.
21 (KAT) Ráno potom Balám vstal, osedlal svoju oslicu a odišiel s moabskými predákmi.
21 (UKJV) And Balaam rose up in the morning, and saddled his ass, and went with the princes of Moab.

22 (HEM) ויחר אף אלהים כי הולך הוא ויתיצב מלאך יהוה בדרך לשטן לו והוא רכב על אתנו ושני נעריו עמו׃
22 (VUL) Et iratus est Deus, cum profectus esset; stetitque angelus Domini in via contra Balaam, ut adversaretur ei, qui insidebat asinae et duos pueros habebat secum.
22 (KAT) Potom sa Boh rozhneval, že (Balám) už aj sám chcel ísť, a Pánov anjel mu zastúpil cestu, aby ho zadržal. Niesol sa totiž na oslici a sprevádzali ho jeho dvaja sluhovia.
22 (UKJV) And God's anger was kindled because he went: and the angel of the LORD stood in the way for an adversary against him. Now he was riding upon his ass, and his two servants were with him.

23 (HEM) ותרא האתון את מלאך יהוה נצב בדרך וחרבו שלופה בידו ותט האתון מן הדרך ותלך בשדה ויך בלעם את האתון להטתה הדרך׃
23 (VUL) Cernens asina angelum Domini stantem in via, evaginato gladio in manu sua, avertit se de itinere et ibat per agrum. Quam cum verberaret Balaam et vellet ad semitam reducere,
23 (KAT) Keď oslica videla na ceste stáť Pánovho anjela s vytaseným mečom v ruke, vybočila z cesty a išla poľom. Balám oslicu bil, aby ju zavrátil na cestu.
23 (UKJV) And the ass saw the angel of the LORD standing in the way, and his sword drawn in his hand: and the ass turned aside out of the way, and went into the field: and Balaam stroke the ass, to turn her into the way.

24 (HEM) ויעמד מלאך יהוה במשעול הכרמים גדר מזה וגדר מזה׃
24 (VUL) stetit angelus Domini in angustiis duarum maceriarum, quibus vineae cingebantur.
24 (KAT) Tu sa anjel postavil do úžľabiny medzi vinicami, kde stál z oboch strán múr.
24 (UKJV) But the angel of the LORD stood in a path of the vineyards, a wall being on this side, and a wall on that side.

25 (HEM) ותרא האתון את מלאך יהוה ותלחץ אל הקיר ותלחץ את רגל בלעם אל הקיר ויסף להכתה׃
25 (VUL) Quem videns asina iunxit se parieti et attrivit sedentis pedem. At ille iterum verberabat eam;
25 (KAT) Keď oslica zočila Pánovho anjela, pritisla sa o múr a Balámovi pritlačila o múr nohu. I bil ju znova.
25 (UKJV) And when the ass saw the angel of the LORD, she thrust herself unto the wall, and crushed Balaam's foot against the wall: and he stroke her again.

26 (HEM) ויוסף מלאך יהוה עבור ויעמד במקום צר אשר אין דרך לנטות ימין ושמאול׃
26 (VUL) et angelus Domini iterum transiens ad locum angustum, ubi nec ad dexteram nec ad sinistram poterat deviare, obvius stetit.
26 (KAT) Pánov anjel ho zasa predišiel a zastal si na úzkom mieste, kde sa nedalo vyhnúť ani napravo, ani naľavo.
26 (UKJV) And the angel of the LORD went further, and stood in a narrow place, where was no way to turn either to the right hand or to the left.

27 (HEM) ותרא האתון את מלאך יהוה ותרבץ תחת בלעם ויחר אף בלעם ויך את האתון במקל׃
27 (VUL) Cumque vidisset asina stantem angelum Domini, concidit sub pedibus sedentis; qui iratus vehementius caedebat fuste latera eius.
27 (KAT) A keď Balámova oslica zbadala Pánovho anjela, padla pod Balámom. Balám sa rozhneval a ťal oslicu palicou.
27 (UKJV) And when the ass saw the angel of the LORD, she fell down under Balaam: and Balaam's anger was kindled, and he stroke the ass with a staff.

28 (HEM) ויפתח יהוה את פי האתון ותאמר לבלעם מה עשיתי לך כי הכיתני זה שלש רגלים׃
28 (VUL) Aperuitque Dominus os asinae, et locuta est: “ Quid feci tibi? Cur percutis me ecce iam tertio? ”.
28 (KAT) Tu Pán otvoril oslici ústa a povedala Balámovi: „Čo som ti urobila, že si ma už tri razy bil?“
28 (UKJV) And the LORD opened the mouth of the ass, and she said unto Balaam, What have I done unto you, that you have smitten me these three times?

29 (HEM) ויאמר בלעם לאתון כי התעללת בי לו יש חרב בידי כי עתה הרגתיך׃
29 (VUL) Respondit Balaam: “ Quia illusisti mihi. Utinam haberem gladium, ut te interficerem! ”.
29 (KAT) Balám odvetil oslici: „Lebo si si robila posmech zo mňa. Keby som mal poruke meč, tak by som ťa zabil.“
29 (UKJV) And Balaam said unto the ass, Because you have mocked me: I would there were a sword in mine hand, for now would I kill you.

30 (HEM) ותאמר האתון אל בלעם הלוא אנכי אתנך אשר רכבת עלי מעודך עד היום הזה ההסכן הסכנתי לעשות לך כה ויאמר לא׃
30 (VUL) Dixit asina: “ Nonne animal tuum sum, cui semper sedere consuevisti usque in praesentem diem? Dic quid simile umquam fecerim tibi ”. At ille ait: “ Numquam ”.
30 (KAT) Oslica odpovedala Balámovi: „A nie som ja tvoja oslica, na ktorej oddávna až dodnes jazdievaš? A urobila som ti niekedy niečo takéto?!“ On odpovedal: „Nie!“
30 (UKJV) And the ass said unto Balaam, Am not I your ass, upon which you have ridden ever since I was your unto this day? was I ever known to do so unto you? And he said, Nay.

31 (HEM) ויגל יהוה את עיני בלעם וירא את מלאך יהוה נצב בדרך וחרבו שלפה בידו ויקד וישתחו לאפיו׃
31 (VUL) Protinus aperuit Dominus oculos Balaam, et vidit angelum Domini stantem in via, evaginato gladio in manu eius; adoravitque eum pronus in terram.
31 (KAT) Tu Pán otvoril Balámovi oči a zbadal, že na ceste stojí Pánov anjel s vytaseným mečom v ruke. Poklonil sa a vrhol sa na tvár.
31 (UKJV) Then the LORD opened the eyes of Balaam, and he saw the angel of the LORD standing in the way, and his sword drawn in his hand: and he bowed down his head, and fell flat on his face.

32 (HEM) ויאמר אליו מלאך יהוה על מה הכית את אתנך זה שלוש רגלים הנה אנכי יצאתי לשטן כי ירט הדרך לנגדי׃
32 (VUL) Cui angelus Domini: “ Cur, inquit, tertio verberas asinam tuam? Ego veni, ut adversarer tibi, quia perversa est via tua mihique contraria.
32 (KAT) Pánov anjel mu povedal: „Prečo si už tri razy bil svoju oslicu? Pozri, ja sám som prišiel, aby som ťa zadržal, lebo táto cesta je proti mojej vôli.
32 (UKJV) And the angel of the LORD said unto him, Wherefore have you smitten your ass these three times? behold, I went out to withstand you, because your way is perverse before me:

33 (HEM) ותראני האתון ותט לפני זה שלש רגלים אולי נטתה מפני כי עתה גם אתכה הרגתי ואותה החייתי׃
33 (VUL) Et videns me asina declinavit ter a me; nisi declinasset, te occidissem et illam vivam reliquissem ”.
33 (KAT) Oslica ma zbadala a tri razy sa mi vyhla. Keby sa mi nebola vyhla, bol by som ťa už zahubil. Ju by som však bol nechal nažive.“
33 (UKJV) And the ass saw me, and turned from me these three times: unless she had turned from me, surely now also I had slain you, and saved her alive.

34 (HEM) ויאמר בלעם אל מלאך יהוה חטאתי כי לא ידעתי כי אתה נצב לקראתי בדרך ועתה אם רע בעיניך אשובה לי׃
34 (VUL) Dixit Balaam: “ Peccavi nesciens quod tu stares contra me in via; et nunc, si displicet tibi, revertar ”.
34 (KAT) Tu Balám povedal Pánovmu anjelovi: „Previnil som sa. Nevedel som, že sa mi ty staviaš do cesty. Teraz však, ak sa ti to neprotiví, vrátim sa späť.“
34 (UKJV) "And Balaam said unto the angel of the LORD, I have sinned; for I knew not that you stood in the way against me: now therefore, if it displease you, I will get me back again. "

35 (HEM) ויאמר מלאך יהוה אל בלעם לך עם האנשים ואפס את הדבר אשר אדבר אליך אתו תדבר וילך בלעם עם שרי בלק׃
35 (VUL) Ait angelus Domini: “ Vade cum istis et cave, ne aliud, quam praecepero tibi, loquaris ”. Ivit igitur cum principibus Balac.
35 (KAT) Pánov anjel však odvetil Balámovi: „Len choď s mužmi! Ale hovoriť budeš iba to, čo ti prikážem ja!“ A Balám šiel s Balakovými náčelníkmi.
35 (UKJV) And the angel of the LORD said unto Balaam, Go with the men: but only the word that I shall speak unto you, that you shall speak. So Balaam went with the princes of Balak.

36 (HEM) וישמע בלק כי בא בלעם ויצא לקראתו אל עיר מואב אשר על גבול ארנן אשר בקצה הגבול׃
36 (VUL) Quod cum audisset Balac, venisse scilicet Balaam, egressus est in occursum eius in Irmoab, quod situm est in extremis finibus Arnon;
36 (KAT) Keď Balak počul, že sa blíži Balám, šiel mu v ústrety do moabského Iru, ktorý je na samých hraniciach arnonského územia.
36 (UKJV) And when Balak heard that Balaam was come, he went out to meet him unto a city of Moab, which is in the border of Arnon, which is in the utmost coast.

37 (HEM) ויאמר בלק אל בלעם הלא שלח שלחתי אליך לקרא לך למה לא הלכת אלי האמנם לא אוכל כבדך׃
37 (VUL) dixitque ad Balaam: “ Nonne misi nuntios, ut vocarem te? Cur non statim venisti ad me? An quia honorare te nequeo? ”.
37 (KAT) A Balak povedal Balámovi: „Či som neposlal opäť po teba, aby som ťa privolal? Prečo si neprišiel hneď ku mne? Nie som vari schopný odmeniť ťa?“
37 (UKJV) And Balak said unto Balaam, Did I not earnestly send unto you to call you? wherefore came you not unto me? am I not able indeed to promote you to honour?

38 (HEM) ויאמר בלעם אל בלק הנה באתי אליך עתה היכול אוכל דבר מאומה הדבר אשר ישים אלהים בפי אתו אדבר׃
38 (VUL) Cui ille respondit: “ Ecce adsum; numquid loqui potero aliud, nisi quod Deus posuerit in ore meo? ”.
38 (KAT) Balám odpovedal Balakovi: „Nuž prišiel som k tebe, ale sotva budem môcť niečo hovoriť. Poviem iba to slovo, ktoré mi vloží do úst Boh.“
38 (UKJV) And Balaam said unto Balak, Lo, I am come unto you: have I now any power at all to say any thing? the word that God puts in my mouth, that shall I speak.

39 (HEM) וילך בלעם עם בלק ויבאו קרית חצות׃
39 (VUL) Perrexerunt ergo simul et venerunt in Cariathusoth.
39 (KAT) Potom išli Balak s Balámom ďalej a došli do Kirjat-Chusot.
39 (UKJV) And Balaam went with Balak, and they came unto Kirjathhuzoth.

40 (HEM) ויזבח בלק בקר וצאן וישלח לבלעם ולשרים אשר אתו׃
40 (VUL) Cumque occidisset Balac boves et oves, misit ad Balaam et principes, qui cum eo erant.
40 (KAT) A keď Balak obetoval býky a ovce, poslal z nich Balámovi a náčelníkom, čo boli s ním.
40 (UKJV) And Balak offered oxen and sheep, and sent to Balaam, and to the princes that were with him.

41 (HEM) ויהי בבקר ויקח בלק את בלעם ויעלהו במות בעל וירא משם קצה העם׃
41 (VUL) Mane autem facto, duxit eum ad excelsa Baal et intuitus est extremam partem populi.
