Kniha proroka Malachiáša

1 (KJV) The burden of the word of the LORD to Israel by Malachi.
1 (B21) Ortel slova Hospodinova nad Izraelem skrze Malachiáše.

2 (KJV) I have loved you, saith the LORD. Yet ye say, Wherein hast thou loved us? Was not Esau Jacob's brother? saith the LORD: yet I loved Jacob,
2 (B21) Miluji vás, praví Hospodin. "Jak nás miluješ?" ptáte se. Neměl snad Jákob bratra Ezaua? praví Hospodin. Jákoba jsem si zamiloval,

3 (KJV) And I hated Esau, and laid his mountains and his heritage waste for the dragons of the wilderness.
3 (B21) ale Ezaua jsem zavrhl. Hory jsem mu obrátil v pustinu a jeho dědictví jsem nechal pouštním šakalům.

4 (KJV) Whereas Edom saith, We are impoverished, but we will return and build the desolate places; thus saith the LORD of hosts, They shall build, but I will throw down; and they shall call them, The border of wickedness, and, The people against whom the LORD hath indignation for ever.
4 (B21) Edom si může říci: "Byli jsme poraženi, ale znovu vystavíme trosky." Hospodin zástupů však praví: Jen ať si stavějí, já budu bořit! Bude se jim říkat "Země zkaženosti" a "Lid, na nějž se Hospodin hněvá navěky".

5 (KJV) And your eyes shall see, and ye shall say, The LORD will be magnified from the border of Israel.
5 (B21) Uvidíte to na vlastní oči a tehdy řeknete: "Hospodin je veliký i mimo izraelské území!"

6 (KJV) A son honoureth his father, and a servant his master: if then I be a father, where is mine honour? and if I be a master, where is my fear? saith the LORD of hosts unto you, O priests, that despise my name. And ye say, Wherein have we despised thy name?
6 (B21) Syn má v úctě svého otce a služebník svého pána. Jsem-li tedy otec, kde je úcta ke mně? Jsem-li Pán, kde je bázeň přede mnou? praví Hospodin zástupů vám, kněží, kteří pohrdáte mým jménem. "Jak pohrdáme tvým jménem?" ptáte se.

7 (KJV) Ye offer polluted bread upon mine altar; and ye say, Wherein have we polluted thee? In that ye say, The table of the LORD is contemptible.
7 (B21) Tak, že na můj oltář přinášíte poskvrněný chléb. "Jak tě poskvrňujeme?" ptáte se. Tak, že říkáte: "Na Hospodinově stole nezáleží."

8 (KJV) And if ye offer the blind for sacrifice, is it not evil? and if ye offer the lame and sick, is it not evil? offer it now unto thy governor; will he be pleased with thee, or accept thy person? saith the LORD of hosts.
8 (B21) Když k oběti přinášíte slepé zvíře, copak to není špatně? Když přinášíte chromé a churavé, copak to není špatně? Jen to zkus nabídnout svému vladaři, jestli se mu tím zalíbíš a zahrne tě přízní, praví Hospodin zástupů.

9 (KJV) And now, I pray you, beseech God that he will be gracious unto us: this hath been by your means: will he regard your persons? saith the LORD of hosts.
9 (B21) Jen si nakloňujte Boha, aby se nad vámi slitoval - jenže s tímhle v rukách? Projeví svou přízeň komukoli z vás? praví Hospodin zástupů.

10 (KJV) Who is there even among you that would shut the doors for nought? neither do ye kindle fire on mine altar for nought. I have no pleasure in you, saith the LORD of hosts, neither will I accept an offering at your hand.
10 (B21) Kdyby tak někdo z vás zavřel vrata, aby se můj oltář darmo nezapaloval! Nelíbíte se mi, praví Hospodin zástupů; o oběti z vašich rukou nestojím!

11 (KJV) For from the rising of the sun even unto the going down of the same my name shall be great among the Gentiles; and in every place incense shall be offered unto my name, and a pure offering: for my name shall be great among the heathen, saith the LORD of hosts.
11 (B21) Vždyť mé jméno je veliké mezi národy od východu slunce až na západ - tam všude budou mému jménu přinášet kadidlo a čisté oběti. Ano, mé jméno je veliké mezi národy, praví Hospodin zástupů.

12 (KJV) But ye have profaned it, in that ye say, The table of the LORD is polluted; and the fruit thereof, even his meat, is contemptible.
12 (B21) Vy ho však znesvěcujete, když říkáte: "Stůl Páně je možné poskvrnit; na pokrmu na něm obětovaném nezáleží."

13 (KJV) Ye said also, Behold, what a weariness is it! and ye have snuffed at it, saith the LORD of hosts; and ye brought that which was torn, and the lame, and the sick; thus ye brought an offering: should I accept this of your hand? saith the LORD.
13 (B21) Říkáte také: "Proč se dřít!" a frkáte své posměšky, praví Hospodin zástupů. Přinášíte ukradené, chromé a churavé kusy a nabízíte mi je za oběť - copak to mohu z vašich rukou přijmout? praví Hospodin.

14 (KJV) But cursed be the deceiver, which hath in his flock a male, and voweth, and sacrificeth unto the LORD a corrupt thing: for I am a great King, saith the LORD of hosts, and my name is dreadful among the heathen.
14 (B21) Prokletý je pokrytec, který má ve stádu samce, slíbí ho Pánu, ale pak obětuje nějaký pochroumaný kus. Vždyť já jsem veliký Král, praví Hospodin zástupů, a mé jméno je obávané mezi národy!
