1 (HEM) משא דבר יהוה בארץ חדרך ודמשק מנחתו כי ליהוה עין אדם וכל שבטי ישראל׃
1 (UKJV) The burden of the word of the LORD in the land of Hadrach, and Damascus shall be the rest thereof: when the eyes of man, as of all the tribes of Israel, shall be toward the LORD.
2 (HEM) וגם חמת תגבל בה צר וצידון כי חכמה מאד׃
2 (UKJV) "And Hamath also shall border thereby; Tyrus, and Zidon, though it be very wise. "
3 (HEM) ותבן צר מצור לה ותצבר כסף כעפר וחרוץ כטיט חוצות׃
3 (UKJV) And Tyrus did build herself a strong hold, and heaped up silver as the dust, and fine gold as the mire of the streets.
4 (HEM) הנה אדני יורשנה והכה בים חילה והיא באש תאכל׃
4 (UKJV) "Behold, the LORD will cast her out, and he will strike her power in the sea; and she shall be devoured with fire. "
5 (HEM) תרא אשקלון ותירא ועזה ותחיל מאד ועקרון כי הביש מבטה ואבד מלך מעזה ואשקלון לא תשב׃
5 (UKJV) "Ashkelon shall see it, and fear; Gaza also shall see it, and be very sorrowful, and Ekron; for her expectation shall be ashamed; and the king shall perish from Gaza, and Ashkelon shall not be inhabited. "
6 (HEM) וישב ממזר באשדוד והכרתי גאון פלשתים׃
6 (UKJV) And a bastard shall dwell in Ashdod, and I will cut off the pride of the Philistines.
7 (HEM) והסרתי דמיו מפיו ושקציו מבין שניו ונשאר גם הוא לאלהינו והיה כאלף ביהודה ועקרון כיבוסי׃
7 (UKJV) And I will take away his blood out of his mouth, and his abominations from between his teeth: but he that remains, even he, shall be for our God, and he shall be as a governor in Judah, and Ekron as a Jebusite.
8 (HEM) וחניתי לביתי מצבה מעבר ומשב ולא יעבר עליהם עוד נגש כי עתה ראיתי בעיני׃
8 (UKJV) And I will camp about mine house because of the army, because of him that passes by, and because of him that returns: and no oppressor shall pass through them any more: for now have I seen with mine eyes.
9 (HEM) גילי מאד בת ציון הריעי בת ירושלם הנה מלכך יבוא לך צדיק ונושע הוא עני ורכב על חמור ועל עיר בן אתנות׃
9 (UKJV) "Rejoice greatly, O daughter of Zion; shout, O daughter of Jerusalem: behold, your King comes unto you: he is just, and having salvation; lowly, and riding upon an ass, and upon a colt the foal of an ass. "
10 (HEM) והכרתי רכב מאפרים וסוס מירושלם ונכרתה קשת מלחמה ודבר שלום לגוים ומשלו מים עד ים ומנהר עד אפסי ארץ׃
10 (UKJV) And I will cut off the chariot from Ephraim, and the horse from Jerusalem, and the battle bow shall be cut off: and he shall speak peace unto the heathen: and his dominion shall be from sea even to sea, and from the river even to the ends of the earth.
11 (HEM) גם את בדם בריתך שלחתי אסיריך מבור אין מים בו׃
11 (UKJV) As for you also, by the blood of your covenant I have sent forth your prisoners out of the pit wherein is no water.
12 (HEM) שובו לבצרון אסירי התקוה גם היום מגיד משנה אשיב לך׃
12 (UKJV) "Turn you to the strong hold, all of you prisoners of hope: even to day do I declare that I will render double unto you; "
13 (HEM) כי דרכתי לי יהודה קשת מלאתי אפרים ועוררתי בניך ציון על בניך יון ושמתיך כחרב גבור׃
13 (UKJV) When I have bent Judah for me, filled the bow with Ephraim, and raised up your sons, O Zion, against your sons, O Greece, and made you as the sword of a mighty man.
14 (HEM) ויהוה עליהם יראה ויצא כברק חצו ואדני יהוה בשופר יתקע והלך בסערות תימן׃
14 (UKJV) And the LORD shall be seen over them, and his arrow shall go forth as the lightning: and the LORD God shall blow the trumpet, and shall go with whirlwinds of the south.
15 (HEM) יהוה צבאות יגן עליהם ואכלו וכבשו אבני קלע ושתו המו כמו יין ומלאו כמזרק כזויות מזבח׃
15 (UKJV) "The LORD of hosts shall defend them; and they shall devour, and subdue with sling stones; and they shall drink, and make a noise as through wine; and they shall be filled like bowls, and as the corners of the altar. "
16 (HEM) והושיעם יהוה אלהיהם ביום ההוא כצאן עמו כי אבני נזר מתנוססות על אדמתו׃
16 (UKJV) And the LORD their God shall save them in that day as the flock of his people: for they shall be as the stones of a crown, lifted up as an explicit sign upon his land.
17 (HEM) כי מה טובו ומה יפיו דגן בחורים ותירוש ינובב בתלות׃
17 (UKJV) For how great is his goodness, and how great is his beauty! corn shall make the young men cheerful, and new wine the maids.

גם את בדם בריתך שלחתי אסיריך מבור אין מים בו׃
Mt 26:28 - כי זה הוא דמי דם הברית החדשה הנשפך בעד רבים לסליחת חטאים׃
1Kor 11:25 - וכן גם את הכוס אחר הסעודה ויאמר הכוס הזאת היא הברית החדשה בדמי עשו זאת לזכרוני בכל עת שתשתו׃
Heb 9:19 - כי ככלות משה להגיד לכל העם את כל המצות כתורה לקח דם העגלים והשעירים עם מים ותולעת שני ואזוב ויזרק על הספר ועל כל העם׃

ויהוה עליהם יראה ויצא כברק חצו ואדני יהוה בשופר יתקע והלך בסערות תימן׃
Nah 2:4 - בחוצות יתהוללו הרכב ישתקשקון ברחבות מראיהן כלפידם כברקים ירוצצו׃
Zach 9,1 - Pánovo slovo sa tu zosobňuje miesto Pána samého. Zmysel verša je: Pán sa zmocní týchto krajín a miest. Krajina Hadrak ležala severne od Damasku. V Biblii sa jej meno viac nevyskytuje; mimobiblické osnovy ju volajú Hatarika alebo Hazrak. - Výraz: "Pánovi patrí oko človeka" LXX prekladá: "Pretože Pán hľadí na človeka". Zmysel teda je, že sa Pán zmocní nepriateľských krajín, lebo mu záleží na osude ľudí, najmä Izraela.
Zach 9,2 - Pre Emat pozri pozn. k 1 Kr 8,65. - O múdrosti Týru porov. Ez 28,4.
Zach 9,5-7 - Tu spomínané filištínske mestá porov. Am 1,6-8 a Sof 2,4. Filištínci musia svoje mestá prepustiť cudzím, ale pokorenie bude im na osoh, prestanú jesť zakázané a modlám obetované jedlá a pričlenia sa k Božiemu národu ako kedysi Jebuzejčania, praobyvatelia Jeruzalema; porov. 2 Sam 5,6 n.
Zach 9,8 - Boh teraz už nespustí z očí svoj národ a bude ho brániť. O pohoničoch pozri Ex 5,14; Iz 9,4; 14,4.
Zach 9,9 - Ako predošlí proroci, tak aj Zachariáš opisuje pokojamilovnosť mesiášskej ríše. Kráľ Mesiáš neprichádza na bojovom koni, ale na pokojamilovnom zvierati. Splnenie tohto proroctva pozri Mt 21,1; Mk 11,1; Lk 19,29; Jn 12,14. - Slovo "vyhubí" prekladáme podľa LXX. Hebr a Vulg číta: "vyhubím". - "Rieka" je Eufrat.
Zach 9,11 - O krvnej zmluve pozri Ex 24,4-8. Cisterna-jama, vyschnutá studňa; porov. Gn 37,24; Jer 38,6 - symbol Babylonu.
Zach 9,13 - Júda, vedúci kmeň Južnej, a Efraim, vedúci kmeň Severnej ríše, budú zbraňou v Pánových rukách. - Javan sú Jóni a Gréci vôbec.
Zach 9,15 - Výraz, že Izraeliti budú piť krv nepriateľa (porov. Nm 23,24), treba rozumieť v prenesenom zmysle. - Rohy oltára potierali krvou obetných zvierat.
Zach 9,16 - Nevieme, čo rozumie prorok "posvätnými kameňmi". Obyčajne to vykladajú o chráme, ktorý sa po víťazstve zaskvie novou slávou. Iní prekladajú: "nad jeho zemou sa zjavia drahokamy na diadéme". Podľa tohto prekladu by drahokamy boli Izraeliti, ktorí sú Bohu vzácni ako drahokamy na kráľovskej korune.
Zach 9,17 - Hojnosť úrody po víťazstve umožní vychovať udatnú mládež, ktorá je nádejou národa. Neslobodno však zabúdať, že sa pozemskými dobrami zvýrazňujú duchovné dary mesiášskych čias. - Osnovu Vulg: "obilie vyvolených a víno plodiace panny" uvádzali o Eucharistii, ale je to možné len v zmysle prispôsobenom (sensus accommodatus).
