Kniha proroka Zachariáša

1 (KAT) Vo štvrtom roku kráľa Dária prehovoril Pán k Zachariášovi, štvrtý deň deviateho mesiaca, kisleva.
1 (UKJV) "And it came to pass in the fourth year of king Darius, that the word of the LORD came unto Zechariah in the fourth day of the ninth month, even in Chisleu; "

2 (KAT) Vtedy poslal Betel Sarasara, Regemelecha a jeho mužov udobriť Pánovu tvár
2 (UKJV) When they had sent unto the house of God Sherezer and Regemmelech, and their men, to pray before the LORD,

3 (KAT) a spýtať sa kňazov, ktorí sú v dome Pána zástupov, a prorokov: „Mám plakať a postiť sa v piatom mesiaci, ako som to robil už toľko rokov?“
3 (UKJV) And to speak unto the priests which were in the house of the LORD of hosts, and to the prophets, saying, Should I weep in the fifth month, separating myself, as I have done these so many years?

4 (KAT) Vtedy prehovoril ku mne Pán zástupov:
4 (UKJV) Then came the word of the LORD of hosts unto me, saying,

5 (KAT) „Povedz všetkému ľudu krajiny i kňazom: Keď sa postíte a nariekate v piatom a siedmom mesiaci - a je to už sedemdesiat rokov! -, či sa to mne postíte?
5 (UKJV) Speak unto all the people of the land, and to the priests, saying, When all of you fasted and mourned in the fifth and seventh month, even those seventy years, did all of you at all fast unto me, even to me?

6 (KAT) A keď jete a pijete, či ste to nie vy, ktorí jete, a vy, ktorí pijete?
6 (UKJV) And when all of you did eat, and when all of you did drink, did not all of you eat for yourselves, and drink for yourselves?

7 (KAT) Či sú to nie príkazy, ktoré Pán vyhlásil prostredníctvom predošlých prorokov, keď bol Jeruzalem obývaný a bezpečný a jeho mestá dookola i Juh, i Rovina boli obývané?“
7 (UKJV) Should all of you not hear the words which the LORD has cried by the former prophets, when Jerusalem was inhabited and in prosperity, and the cities thereof round about her, when men inhabited the south and the plain?

8 (KAT) Potom Pán prehovoril k Zachariášovi takto:
8 (UKJV) And the word of the LORD came unto Zechariah, saying,

9 (KAT) „Toto hovorí Pán zástupov: Spravodlivo prisudzujte právo a preukazujte si vzájomne milosrdenstvo a láskavosť!
9 (UKJV) Thus speaks the LORD of hosts, saying, Execute true judgment, and show mercy and compassions every man to his brother:

10 (KAT) Vdovy, siroty, cudzincov a chudobných neutláčajte a vo svojich srdciach nezamýšľajte druh druhovi zlo!
10 (UKJV) "And oppress not the widow, nor the fatherless, the stranger, nor the poor; and let none of you imagine evil against his brother in your heart. "

11 (KAT) Ale odopreli pozornosť, ukázali odbojné plece a zaťažili si uši, aby nepočuli.
11 (UKJV) But they refused to hearken, and pulled away the shoulder, and stopped their ears, that they should not hear.

12 (KAT) Zo srdca si urobili diamant, aby nepočuli zákon a slová, ktoré svojím duchom poslal Pán zástupov prostredníctvom predošlých prorokov… Preto prišiel veľký hnev od Pána zástupov.
12 (UKJV) Yea, they made their hearts as an adamant stone, lest they should hear the law, and the words which the LORD of hosts has sent in his spirit by the former prophets: therefore came a great wrath from the LORD of hosts.

13 (KAT) Ako volal a nepočuli, tak budú volať a nebudem počuť, hovorí Pán zástupov.
13 (UKJV) "Therefore it has come to pass, that as he cried, and they would not hear; so they cried, and I would not hear, says the LORD of hosts: "

14 (KAT) A rozprášim ich medzi rozličné národy, ktoré nepoznali, a krajina po nich spustne, že nik nebude chodiť sem-tam. Takto urobili rozkošnú zem pustatinou.“
14 (UKJV) But I scattered them with a whirlwind among all the nations whom they knew not. Thus the land was desolate after them, that no man passed through nor returned: for they laid the pleasant land desolate.
