1 (HEM) עלה מפיץ על פניך נצור מצרה צפה דרך חזק מתנים אמץ כח מאד׃
1 (UKJV) He that dashes in pieces has come up before your face: keep the stronghold, watch the way, make your loins strong, fortify your power mightily.
2 (HEM) כי שב יהוה את גאון יעקב כגאון ישראל כי בקקום בקקים וזמריהם שחתו׃
2 (UKJV) For the LORD has turned away the excellency of Jacob, as the excellency of Israel: for the destroyers have emptied them out, and ruined their vine branches.
3 (HEM) מגן גבריהו מאדם אנשי חיל מתלעים באש פלדות הרכב ביום הכינו והברשים הרעלו׃
3 (UKJV) The shield of his mighty men is made red, the valiant men are in scarlet: the chariots shall be with flaming torches in the day of his preparation, and the fir trees shall be terribly shaken.
4 (HEM) בחוצות יתהוללו הרכב ישתקשקון ברחבות מראיהן כלפידם כברקים ירוצצו׃
4 (UKJV) The chariots shall rage in the streets, they shall clash with one against another in the broad ways: they shall seem like torches, they shall run like the lightnings.
5 (HEM) יזכר אדיריו יכשלו בהלכותם ימהרו חומתה והכן הסכך׃
5 (UKJV) "He shall recount his nobles: they shall stumble in their walk; they shall make haste to the wall thereof, and the defence shall be prepared. "
6 (HEM) שערי הנהרות נפתחו וההיכל נמוג׃
6 (UKJV) The gates of the rivers shall be opened, and the palace shall be dissolved.
7 (HEM) והצב גלתה העלתה ואמהתיה מנהגות כקול יונים מתפפת על לבבהן׃
7 (UKJV) And Huzzab shall be led away captive, she shall be brought up, and her maids shall lead her as with the voice of doves, beating upon their breasts.
8 (HEM) ונינוה כברכת מים מימי היא והמה נסים עמדו עמדו ואין מפנה׃
8 (UKJV) "But Nineveh is of old like a pool of water: yet they shall flee away. Stand, stand, shall they cry; but none shall look back. "
9 (HEM) בזו כסף בזו זהב ואין קצה לתכונה כבד מכל כלי חמדה׃
9 (UKJV) Take all of you the spoil of silver, take the spoil of gold: for there is none end of the store and glory out of all the pleasant furniture.
10 (HEM) בוקה ומבוקה ומבלקה ולב נמס ופק ברכים וחלחלה בכל מתנים ופני כלם קבצו פארור׃
10 (UKJV) She is empty, and void, and waste: and the heart melts, and the knees strike together, and much pain is in all loins, and the faces of them all gather blackness.
11 (HEM) איה מעון אריות ומרעה הוא לכפרים אשר הלך אריה לביא שם גור אריה ואין מחריד׃
11 (UKJV) Where is the dwelling of the lions, and the feeding-place of the young lions, where the lion, even the old lion, walked, and the lion's offspring, and none made them afraid?
12 (HEM) אריה טרף בדי גרותיו ומחנק ללבאתיו וימלא טרף חריו ומענתיו טרפה׃
12 (UKJV) The lion did tear in pieces enough for his whelps, and strangled for his lionesses, and filled his holes with prey, and his dens with ravin.
13 (HEM) הנני אליך נאם יהוה צבאות והבערתי בעשן רכבה וכפיריך תאכל חרב והכרתי מארץ טרפך ולא ישמע עוד קול מלאככה׃
13 (UKJV) Behold, I am against you, says the LORD of hosts, and I will burn her chariots in the smoke, and the sword shall devour your young lions: and I will cut off your prey from the earth, and the voice of your messengers shall no more be heard.

כי שב יהוה את גאון יעקב כגאון ישראל כי בקקום בקקים וזמריהם שחתו׃
Ž 80:12 - למה פרצת גדריה וארוה כל עברי דרך׃
Iz 10:12 - והיה כי יבצע אדני את כל מעשהו בהר ציון ובירושלם אפקד על פרי גדל לבב מלך אשור ועל תפארת רום עיניו׃

בוקה ומבוקה ומבלקה ולב נמס ופק ברכים וחלחלה בכל מתנים ופני כלם קבצו פארור׃
Dt 1:28 - אנה אנחנו עלים אחינו המסו את לבבנו לאמר עם גדול ורם ממנו ערים גדלת ובצורת בשמים וגם בני ענקים ראינו שם׃
Dt 20:8 - ויספו השטרים לדבר אל העם ואמרו מי האיש הירא ורך הלבב ילך וישב לביתו ולא ימס את לבב אחיו כלבבו׃
Joz 2:11 - ונשמע וימס לבבנו ולא קמה עוד רוח באיש מפניכם כי יהוה אלהיכם הוא אלהים בשמים ממעל ועל הארץ מתחת׃
Joz 5:1 - ויהי כשמע כל מלכי האמרי אשר בעבר הירדן ימה וכל מלכי הכנעני אשר על הים את אשר הוביש יהוה את מי הירדן מפני בני ישראל עד עברנו וימס לבבם ולא היה בם עוד רוח מפני בני ישראל׃
Joz 7:5 - ויכו מהם אנשי העי כשלשים וששה איש וירדפום לפני השער עד השברים ויכום במורד וימס לבב העם ויהי למים׃
Iz 13:7 - על כן כל ידים תרפינה וכל לבב אנוש ימס׃
Ez 21:7 - והיה כי יאמרו אליך על מה אתה נאנח ואמרת אל שמועה כי באה ונמס כל לב ורפו כל ידים וכהתה כל רוח וכל ברכים תלכנה מים הנה באה ונהיתה נאם אדני יהוה׃
Iz 13:8 - ונבהלו צירים וחבלים יאחזון כיולדה יחילון איש אל רעהו יתמהו פני להבים פניהם׃
Iz 21:3 - על כן מלאו מתני חלחלה צירים אחזוני כצירי יולדה נעויתי משמע נבהלתי מראות׃
Nah 2,1 - Hlava 2 opisuje pád Ninive. Pre Júdsko je zvesť o páde nepriateľského hlavného mesta radostnou zvesťou. Porov. Iz 40,9; 52,7. – Na východe sa dô ležité správy vyvolávali alebo inými znakmi dávali z vŕška na vŕšok. Azda na tento zvyk myslí tu prorok. – Miesto "ničomník" prepisuje Vulg hebrejské slovo Belial; pozri pozn. k 1 Sam 1,16. Tu označuje toto slovo nepriateľa.
Nah 2,2 - Darmo sa bude Ninive chystať na obranu proti blížiacemu sa nepriateľovi. Boh zničí Asýrov, a tak vráti hrdosť svojmu ľudu, ktorú Asýri zničili, keď spustošili Izrael.
Nah 2,4 - Slovo "jazdci" prekladáme podľa LXX. Podľa mnohých sa už v tomto, podľa iných len v 6. verši opisuje obranné asýrske vojsko, a nie útočiace vojsko.
Nah 2,6 - Ninive si spomenie na svoje vojsko a vyšle ho na obranu mestských hradieb.
Nah 2,7 - Rozumieť asi tak, že nepriateľ odstránil priehrady, ktoré mesto chránili pred povodňou, takže mesto zaplavili vody a podmyli aj kráľovský palác.
Nah 2,8 - Začiatok verša je veľmi neistý. Prekladáme ho podľa Junkera. O hrkútaní holubov pozri pozn. k Iz 59,11.
Nah 2,9-11 - Ninive má už oddávna toľko obyvateľov ako rybník vody. – Veľmi živo sa v týchto veršoch opisuje útek porazených, plienenie víťazov a zdesenie obyvateľstva. K výrazu: "z tvárí sa sťahuje červeň" pozri pozn. k Joel 2,6.
Nah 2,12 - Ninivčania nahromadili koristi ako lev vo svojom brlohu.
