Kniha proroka Jonáša

1 (HEM) ויהי דבר יהוה אל יונה שנית לאמר׃
1 (VUL) Et factum est verbum Domini ad Ionam secundo dicens:
1 (KAT) Pán druhý raz prehovoril k Jonášovi takto:
1 (UKJV) And the word of the LORD came unto Jonah the second time, saying,

2 (HEM) קום לך אל נינוה העיר הגדולה וקרא אליה את הקריאה אשר אנכי דבר אליך׃
2 (VUL) “ Surge, vade in Nineven civitatem magnam et praedica in ea praedicationem, quam ego loquor ad te ”.
2 (KAT) „Vstaň, choď do veľkého mesta Ninive a zvestuj mu zvesť, ktorú ti ja poviem!“
2 (UKJV) Arise, go unto Nineveh, that great city, and preach unto it the preaching that I bid you.

3 (HEM) ויקם יונה וילך אל נינוה כדבר יהוה ונינוה היתה עיר גדולה לאלהים מהלך שלשת ימים׃
3 (VUL) Et surrexit Ionas et abiit in Nineven iuxta verbum Domini. Et Nineve erat civitas magna coram Deo, itinere trium dierum.
3 (KAT) Jonáš vstal a šiel podľa Pánovho rozkazu do Ninive. Ninive bolo veľké mesto pred Bohom, bolo treba tri dni, aby sa prešlo cezeň.
3 (UKJV) So Jonah arose, and went unto Nineveh, according to the word of the LORD. Now Nineveh was an exceeding great city of three days' journey.

4 (HEM) ויחל יונה לבוא בעיר מהלך יום אחד ויקרא ויאמר עוד ארבעים יום ונינוה נהפכת׃
4 (VUL) Et coepit Ionas introire in civitatem itinere diei unius; et clamavit et dixit: “ Adhuc quadraginta dies, et Nineve subvertetur ”.
4 (KAT) Jonáš začal vstupovať do mesta - prvý deň cesty - a volal: „Ešte štyridsať dní a Ninive bude rozvrátené!“
4 (UKJV) And Jonah began to enter into the city a day's journey, and he cried, and said, Yet forty days, and Nineveh shall be overthrown.

5 (HEM) ויאמינו אנשי נינוה באלהים ויקראו צום וילבשו שקים מגדולם ועד קטנם׃
5 (VUL) Et crediderunt viri Ninevitae in Deo; et praedicaverunt ieiunium et vestiti sunt saccis a maiore usque ad minorem.
5 (KAT) Mužovia z Ninive uverili Bohu, vyhlásili pôst a obliekli sa do vrecovín od najväčších po najmenších.
5 (UKJV) So the people of Nineveh believed God, and proclaimed a fast, and put on sackcloth, from the greatest of them even to the least of them.

6 (HEM) ויגע הדבר אל מלך נינוה ויקם מכסאו ויעבר אדרתו מעליו ויכס שק וישב על האפר׃
6 (VUL) Et pervenit verbum ad regem Nineve; et surrexit de solio suo et abiecit pallium suum a se et indutus est sacco et sedit in cinere.
6 (KAT) Vec došla až k ninivskému kráľovi; i vstal zo svojho trónu, zhodil zo seba plášť, obliekol si vrecovinu a posadil sa do popola.
6 (UKJV) For word came unto the king of Nineveh, and he arose from his throne, and he laid his robe from him, and covered him with sackcloth, and sat in ashes.

7 (HEM) ויזעק ויאמר בנינוה מטעם המלך וגדליו לאמר האדם והבהמה הבקר והצאן אל יטעמו מאומה אל ירעו ומים אל ישתו׃
7 (VUL) Et clamavit et dixit in Nineve decreto regis et principum eius dicens: “ Homines et iumenta et boves et pecora non gustent quidquam nec pascantur et aquam non bibant;
7 (KAT) A takto volal v Ninive: „Nariadenie kráľa a jeho veľmožov je toto: Ľudia a zvieratá, statok a ovce nech nič neokúsia; nech sa nepasú a vodu nech nepijú!
7 (UKJV) And he caused it to be proclaimed and published through Nineveh by the decree of the king and his nobles, saying, Let neither man nor beast, herd nor flock, taste any thing: let them not feed, nor drink water:

8 (HEM) ויתכסו שקים האדם והבהמה ויקראו אל אלהים בחזקה וישבו איש מדרכו הרעה ומן החמס אשר בכפיהם׃
8 (VUL) et operiantur saccis homines et iumenta et clament ad Deum in fortitudine, et convertatur vir a via sua mala et a violentia, quae est in manibus eorum.
8 (KAT) Ľudia i zvieratá nech sa poobliekajú do vrecovín, nech hlasno volajú k Bohu a nech sa každý odvráti od svojej zlej cesty a od násilia, ktoré má v rukách.
8 (UKJV) But let man and beast be covered with sackcloth, and cry mightily unto God: yea, let them turn every one from his evil way, and from the violence that is in their hands.

9 (HEM) מי יודע ישוב ונחם האלהים ושב מחרון אפו ולא נאבד׃
9 (VUL) Quis scit si convertatur et ignoscat Deus et revertatur a furore irae suae, et non peribimus? ”.
9 (KAT) Ktovie, azda sa Boh odvráti a zmiluje sa; odvráti sa od svojho hnevu a nezahynieme.“
9 (UKJV) Who can tell if God will turn and repent, and turn away from his fierce anger, that we perish not?

10 (HEM) וירא האלהים את מעשיהם כי שבו מדרכם הרעה וינחם האלהים על הרעה אשר דבר לעשות להם ולא עשה׃
10 (VUL) Et vidit Deus opera eorum, quia conversi sunt de via sua mala; et misertus est Deus super malum, quod lo cutus fuerat ut faceret eis, et non fecit.
10 (KAT) Boh videl ich skutky, že sa odvrátili od svojich zlých ciest, a Boh sa zmiloval a nepostihol ich nešťastím, ktorým ich zamýšľal postihnúť.
10 (UKJV) "And God saw their works, that they turned from their evil way; and God repented of the evil, that he had said that he would do unto them; and he did it not. "
