1 (UKJV) Hear all of you this word which I take up against you, even a lamentation, O house of Israel.
1 (HEM) שמעו את הדבר הזה אשר אנכי נשא עליכם קינה בית ישראל׃
1 (KAT) Čujte túto reč! Vznášam nad vami žalospev, dom Izraela:
2 (UKJV) "The virgin of Israel is fallen; she shall no more rise: she is forsaken upon her land; there is none to raise her up. "
2 (HEM) נפלה לא תוסיף קום בתולת ישראל נטשה על אדמתה אין מקימה׃
2 (KAT) Padla, nevstane viac panna Izrael, zrútila sa na svoju zem, nemá ju kto zdvihnúť.
3 (UKJV) "For thus says the Lord GOD; The city that went out by a thousand shall leave an hundred, and that which went forth by an hundred shall leave ten, to the house of Israel. "
3 (HEM) כי כה אמר אדני יהוה העיר היצאת אלף תשאיר מאה והיוצאת מאה תשאיר עשרה לבית ישראל׃
3 (KAT) Lebo toto hovorí Pán: „Mestu, ktoré vytiahlo s tisícom, ostane sto, a ktoré vytiahlo so stom, ostane desať pre dom Izraela.“
4 (UKJV) For thus says the LORD unto the house of Israel, Seek all of you me, and all of you shall live:
4 (HEM) כי כה אמר יהוה לבית ישראל דרשוני וחיו׃
4 (KAT) Lebo toto hovorí Pán domu Izraela: „Hľadajte ma a budete žiť!
5 (UKJV) But seek not Bethel, nor enter into Gilgal, and pass not to Beersheba: for Gilgal shall surely go into captivity, and Bethel shall come to nothing.
5 (HEM) ואל תדרשו בית אל והגלגל לא תבאו ובאר שבע לא תעברו כי הגלגל גלה יגלה ובית אל יהיה לאון׃
5 (KAT) Nehľadajte Betel, do Galgaly nechoďte a do Bersabe neputujte, lebo Galgala pôjde do zajatia a Betel bude ničím.“
6 (UKJV) "Seek the LORD, and all of you shall live; lest he break out like fire in the house of Joseph, and devour it, and there be none to quench it in Bethel. "
6 (HEM) דרשו את יהוה וחיו פן יצלח כאש בית יוסף ואכלה ואין מכבה לבית אל׃
6 (KAT) Hľadajte Pána a budete žiť, ináč dopadne na Jozefov dom ako oheň, ktorý stravuje, a niet (toho), kto by zahasil Betel.
7 (UKJV) All of you who turn judgment to wormwood, and leave off righteousness in the earth,
7 (HEM) ההפכים ללענה משפט וצדקה לארץ הניחו׃
7 (KAT) Obracajú právo na palinu a spravodlivosť hádžu na zem.
8 (UKJV) Seek him that makes the seven stars and Orion, and turns the shadow of death into the morning, and makes the day dark with night: that calls for the waters of the sea, and pours them out upon the face of the earth: The LORD is his name:
8 (HEM) עשה כימה וכסיל והפך לבקר צלמות ויום לילה החשיך הקורא למי הים וישפכם על פני הארץ יהוה שמו׃
8 (KAT) On stvoril Plejády a Orión, temnosť na ráno obracia a deň zatemňuje na noc; on privoláva vody mora a vylieva ich na povrch zeme, Jahve je jeho meno.
9 (UKJV) That strengthens the spoiled against the strong, so that the spoiled shall come against the fortress.
9 (HEM) המבליג שד על עז ושד על מבצר יבוא׃
9 (KAT) On zablysne skazu nad mocným a záhuba príde na pevnosť.
10 (UKJV) They hate him that rebukes in the gate, and they detest him that speaks uprightly.
10 (HEM) שנאו בשער מוכיח ודבר תמים יתעבו׃
10 (KAT) Nenávidia toho, kto karhá v bráne, odporný im je, kto hovorí pravdu.
11 (UKJV) "Forasmuch therefore as your treading is upon the poor, and all of you take from him burdens of wheat: all of you have built houses of hewn stone, but all of you shall not dwell in them; all of you have planted pleasant vineyards, but all of you shall not drink wine of them. "
11 (HEM) לכן יען בושסכם על דל ומשאת בר תקחו ממנו בתי גזית בניתם ולא תשבו בם כרמי חמד נטעתם ולא תשתו את יינם׃
11 (KAT) Pretože šliapete po maličkom a beriete od neho dávky obilia: postavili ste domy z kresaného kameňa, ale bývať v nich nebudete, vysadili ste rozkošné vinice, ale víno z nich piť nebudete.
12 (UKJV) For I know your manifold transgressions and your mighty sins: they afflict the just, they take a bribe, and they turn aside the poor in the gate from their right.
12 (HEM) כי ידעתי רבים פשעיכם ועצמים חטאתיכם צררי צדיק לקחי כפר ואביונים בשער הטו׃
12 (KAT) Veď viem, že mnoho je vašich hriechov a ťažké sú vaše zločiny, ubíjate spravodlivého, beriete výkupné a chudáka utláčate pri bráne.
13 (UKJV) "Therefore the prudent shall keep silence in that time; for it is an evil time. "
13 (HEM) לכן המשכיל בעת ההיא ידם כי עת רעה היא׃
13 (KAT) Preto múdry v tomto čase mlčí, lebo je to zlý čas.
14 (UKJV) Seek good, and not evil, that all of you may live: and so the LORD, the God of hosts, shall be with you, as all of you have spoken.
14 (HEM) דרשו טוב ואל רע למען תחיו ויהי כן יהוה אלהי צבאות אתכם כאשר אמרתם׃
14 (KAT) Hľadajte dobro, a nie zlo, aby ste žili, aby tak bol s vami Pán, Boh zástupov, ako ste vraveli.
15 (UKJV) Hate the evil, and love the good, and establish judgment in the gate: it may be that the LORD God of hosts will be gracious unto the remnant of Joseph.
15 (HEM) שנאו רע ואהבו טוב והציגו בשער משפט אולי יחנן יהוה אלהי צבאות שארית יוסף׃
15 (KAT) Nenáviďte zlo a milujte dobro a uplatňujte právo v bráne, azda sa zmiluje Pán, Boh zástupov, nad zvyškami Jozefa.
16 (UKJV) "Therefore the LORD, the God of hosts, the LORD, says thus; Wailing shall be in all streets; and they shall say in all the highways, Alas! alas! and they shall call the farmer to mourning, and such as are skilful of lamentation to wailing. "
16 (HEM) לכן כה אמר יהוה אלהי צבאות אדני בכל רחבות מספד ובכל חוצות יאמרו הו הו וקראו אכר אל אבל ומספד אל יודעי נהי׃
16 (KAT) Preto takto hovorí Jahve, Boh zástupov, Pán: „Na všetkých námestiach je nárek a na všetkých uliciach vravia: »Jaj! Jaj!« Roľníka vyzývajú na smútok a znalca žalospevu na nárek.
17 (UKJV) And in all vineyards shall be wailing: for I will pass through you, says the LORD.
17 (HEM) ובכל כרמים מספד כי אעבר בקרבך אמר יהוה׃
17 (KAT) Aj vo všetkých viniciach bude nárek, keď prejdem cez teba,“ hovorí Pán.
18 (UKJV) Woe unto you that desire the day of the LORD! to what end is it for you? the day of the LORD is darkness, and not light.
18 (HEM) הוי המתאוים את יום יהוה למה זה לכם יום יהוה הוא חשך ולא אור׃
18 (KAT) Beda vám, čo žiadate deň Pána! Načože je vám Pánov deň? - On je tma, a nie svetlo.
19 (UKJV) "As if a man did flee from a lion, and a bear met him; or went into the house, and leaned his hand on the wall, and a serpent bit him. "
19 (HEM) כאשר ינוס איש מפני הארי ופגעו הדב ובא הבית וסמך ידו על הקיר ונשכו הנחש׃
19 (KAT) Ako keď niekto uteká pred levom a narazí na medveďa; ide domov, oprie sa rukou o múr a vtom ho uhryzne had:
20 (UKJV) Shall not the day of the LORD be darkness, and not light? even very dark, and no brightness in it?
20 (HEM) הלא חשך יום יהוה ולא אור ואפל ולא נגה לו׃
20 (KAT) Či nie je Pánov deň tma, a nie svetlo, temnota, ktorá nemá žiary?
21 (UKJV) I hate, I despise your feast days, and I will not smell in your solemn assemblies.
21 (HEM) שנאתי מאסתי חגיכם ולא אריח בעצרתיכם׃
21 (KAT) „Nenávidím, zavrhujem vaše sviatky a nevoňajú mi vaše zhromaždenia.
22 (UKJV) Though all of you offer me burnt offerings and your food offerings, I will not accept them: neither will I regard the peace offerings of your fat beasts.
22 (HEM) כי אם תעלו לי עלות ומנחתיכם לא ארצה ושלם מריאיכם לא אביט׃
22 (KAT) Keď mi prinášate celopaly a svoje pokrmové obety, nemám v nich záľubu a na tučné pokojné obety sa nepozriem.
23 (UKJV) "Take you away from me the noise of your songs; for I will not hear the melody of your viols. "
23 (HEM) הסר מעלי המון שריך וזמרת נבליך לא אשמע׃
23 (KAT) Odstráň odo mňa hluk svojich piesní, nechcem počuť ani zvuk tvojich hárf.
24 (UKJV) But let judgment run down as waters, and righteousness as a mighty stream.
24 (HEM) ויגל כמים משפט וצדקה כנחל איתן׃
24 (KAT) Radšej nech prúdi právo ako voda a spravodlivosť ako stály potok.
25 (UKJV) Have all of you offered unto me sacrifices and offerings in the wilderness forty years, O house of Israel?
25 (HEM) הזבחים ומנחה הגשתם לי במדבר ארבעים שנה בית ישראל׃
25 (KAT) Či ste mi prinášali obety a žertvy štyridsať rokov na púšti, dom Izraela?
26 (UKJV) But all of you have borne the tabernacle of your Moloch and Chiun your images, the star of your god, which all of you made to yourselves.
26 (HEM) ונשאתם את סכות מלככם ואת כיון צלמיכם כוכב אלהיכם אשר עשיתם לכם׃
26 (KAT) Lež nosili ste stan svojho Molocha a Kaivana, svoje modly, hviezdu svojich bohov, ktoré ste si spravili.
27 (UKJV) Therefore will I cause you to go into captivity beyond Damascus, says the LORD, whose name is The God of hosts.
27 (HEM) והגליתי אתכם מהלאה לדמשק אמר יהוה אלהי צבאות שמו׃
27 (KAT) Nuž odvediem vás do zajatia za Damask,“ hovorí Pán; Boh zástupov je jeho meno.

Verš 5
But seek not Bethel, nor enter into Gilgal, and pass not to Beersheba: for Gilgal shall surely go into captivity, and Bethel shall come to nothing.
Am 4:4 - "Come to Bethel, and transgress; at Gilgal multiply transgression; and bring your sacrifices every morning, and your tithes after three years: "
Verš 8
Seek him that makes the seven stars and Orion, and turns the shadow of death into the morning, and makes the day dark with night: that calls for the waters of the sea, and pours them out upon the face of the earth: The LORD is his name:
Jób 9:9 - Which makes Arcturus, Orion, and Pleiades, and the chambers of the south.
Jób 38:31 - Can you bind the sweet influences of Pleiades, or loose the bands of Orion?
Am 9:6 - "It is he that builds his stories in the heaven, and has founded his troop in the earth; he that calls for the waters of the sea, and pours them out upon the face of the earth: The LORD is his name. "

"Forasmuch therefore as your treading is upon the poor, and all of you take from him burdens of wheat: all of you have built houses of hewn stone, but all of you shall not dwell in them; all of you have planted pleasant vineyards, but all of you shall not drink wine of them. "
Sof 1:13 - "Therefore their goods shall become a booty, and their houses a desolation: they shall also build houses, but not inhabit them; and they shall plant vineyards, but not drink the wine thereof. "
Verš 15
Hate the evil, and love the good, and establish judgment in the gate: it may be that the LORD God of hosts will be gracious unto the remnant of Joseph.
Ž 34:14 - "Depart from evil, and do good; seek peace, and pursue it. "
Ž 97:10 - "All of you that love the LORD, hate evil: he perserves the souls of his saints; he delivers them out of the hand of the wicked. "
Rim 12:9 - "Let love (o. agape) be without dissimulation. Detest that which is evil; cleave to that which is good. "
Verš 18
Woe unto you that desire the day of the LORD! to what end is it for you? the day of the LORD is darkness, and not light.
Iz 5:19 - That say, Let him make speed, and hasten his work, that we may see it: and let the counsel of the Holy One of Israel draw nigh and come, that we may know it!
Jer 30:7 - Alas! for that day is great, so that none is like it: it is even the time of Jacob's trouble, but he shall be saved out of it.
Joe 2:2 - "A day of darkness and of gloominess, a day of clouds and of thick darkness, as the morning spread upon the mountains: a great people and a strong; there has not been ever the like, neither shall be any more after it, even to the years of many generations. "
Sof 1:15 - That day is a day of wrath, a day of trouble and distress, a day of devastation and desolation, a day of darkness and gloominess, a day of clouds and thick darkness,
Verš 21
I hate, I despise your feast days, and I will not smell in your solemn assemblies.
Iz 1:11 - "To what purpose is the multitude of your sacrifices unto me? says the LORD: I am full of the burnt offerings of rams, and the fat of fed beasts; and I delight not in the blood of bullocks, or of lambs, or of he goats. "
Jer 6:20 - To what purpose comes there to me incense from Sheba, and the sweet cane from a far country? your burnt offerings are not acceptable, nor your sacrifices sweet unto me.
Verš 25
Have all of you offered unto me sacrifices and offerings in the wilderness forty years, O house of Israel?
Sk 7:42 - "Then God turned, and gave them up to worship the host of heaven; as it is written in the book of the prophets, O all of you house of Israel, have all of you offered to me slain beasts and sacrifices by the space of forty years in the wilderness? "
Am 5,3 - Z vojska, ktoré vyšlú do boja, ostane len desiata čiastka.
Am 5,5 - O Beteli a Galgale pozri pozn. k Oz 4,15. – Bersabe bolo na juhu Júdska, no Izraeliti aj ta chodili na nezákonitú bohoslužbu.
Am 5,6 - Pán dopadne na Jozefov dom ako oheň. – Jozefov dom je Severná ríša. Od Jozefa pochádzali kmene Efraim a Manasses.
Am 5,7 - Právo obracajú Izraeliti na trpké bezprávie.
Am 5,10 - Nenávidia spravodlivých sudcov a pravdovravných svedkov.
Am 5,12 - Sudcom sa vyčíta úplatkárstvo.
Am 5,14 - Pretože v krajine panoval blahobyt, vraveli si Izraeliti, že je Boh s nimi, že im pomáha.
Am 5,17 - Porov. Ex 12,12.
Am 5,18-20 - Izraeliti sa nazdávali, že sa nemajú čo báť Božieho trestu (pozri k veršu 14) a že v deň Pána (pozri k Joel 1,15) bude Boh trestať len ich nepriateľov. Mýlia sa, pretože ten deň bude aj pre nich dňom trestu.
Am 5,21-23 - Boh zavrhuje bohoslužby Izraela, pretože sú nezákonité a bezduché.
Am 5,25 - Verše sú nejasné a neisté. Možno ich rozumieť tak, že Izraeliti na púšti neprinášali Pánovi obety, ale klaňali sa modlám; ale aj tak, že aj Pánovi prinášali obety a súčasne aj konali modloslužbu, ako to robia teraz. Moloch a Kaivan boli modly. Kaivan, asýrsky Kajaman, volala sa obežnica Saturn, ktorí tiež zbožňovali.
Am 5,27 - Do asýrskeho zajatia išli Izraeliti cez Damask.
