Kniha proroka Amosa

1 (HEM) כה אמר יהוה על שלשה פשעי מואב ועל ארבעה לא אשיבנו על שרפו עצמות מלך אדום לשיד׃
1 (UKJV) "Thus says the LORD; For three transgressions of Moab, and for four, I will not turn away the punishment thereof; because he burned the bones of the king of Edom into lime: "

2 (HEM) ושלחתי אש במואב ואכלה ארמנות הקריות ומת בשאון מואב בתרועה בקול שופר׃
2 (UKJV) But I will send a fire upon Moab, and it shall devour the palaces of Kirioth: and Moab shall die with tumult, with shouting, and with the sound of the trumpet:

3 (HEM) והכרתי שופט מקרבה וכל שריה אהרוג עמו אמר יהוה׃
3 (UKJV) And I will cut off the judge from the midst thereof, and will slay all the princes thereof with him, says the LORD.

4 (HEM) כה אמר יהוה על שלשה פשעי יהודה ועל ארבעה לא אשיבנו על מאסם את תורת יהוה וחקיו לא שמרו ויתעום כזביהם אשר הלכו אבותם אחריהם׃
4 (UKJV) "Thus says the LORD; For three transgressions of Judah, and for four, I will not turn away the punishment thereof; because they have despised the law of the LORD, and have not kept his commandments, and their lies caused them to go astray, after the which their fathers have walked: "

5 (HEM) ושלחתי אש ביהודה ואכלה ארמנות ירושלם׃
5 (UKJV) But I will send a fire upon Judah, and it shall devour the palaces of Jerusalem.

6 (HEM) כה אמר יהוה על שלשה פשעי ישראל ועל ארבעה לא אשיבנו על מכרם בכסף צדיק ואביון בעבור נעלים׃
6 (UKJV) "Thus says the LORD; For three transgressions of Israel, and for four, I will not turn away the punishment thereof; because they sold the righteous for silver, and the poor for a pair of shoes; "

7 (HEM) השאפים על עפר ארץ בראש דלים ודרך ענוים יטו ואיש ואביו ילכו אל הנערה למען חלל את שם קדשי׃
7 (UKJV) That pant after the dust of the earth on the head of the poor, and turn aside the way of the meek: and a man and his father will go in unto the same maid, to profane my holy name:

8 (HEM) ועל בגדים חבלים יטו אצל כל מזבח ויין ענושים ישתו בית אלהיהם׃
8 (UKJV) And they lay themselves down upon clothes laid to pledge by every altar, and they drink the wine of the condemned in the house of their god.

9 (HEM) ואנכי השמדתי את האמרי מפניהם אשר כגבה ארזים גבהו וחסן הוא כאלונים ואשמיד פריו ממעל ושרשיו מתחת׃
9 (UKJV) "Yet destroyed I the Amorite before them, whose height was like the height of the cedars, and he was strong as the oaks; yet I destroyed his fruit from above, and his roots from beneath. "

10 (HEM) ואנכי העליתי אתכם מארץ מצרים ואולך אתכם במדבר ארבעים שנה לרשת את ארץ האמרי׃
10 (UKJV) Also I brought you up from the land of Egypt, and led you forty years through the wilderness, to possess the land of the Amorite.

11 (HEM) ואקים מבניכם לנביאים ומבחוריכם לנזרים האף אין זאת בני ישראל נאם יהוה׃
11 (UKJV) And I raised up of your sons for prophets, and of your young men for Nazarites. Is it not even thus, O all of you children of Israel? says the LORD.

12 (HEM) ותשקו את הנזרים יין ועל הנביאים צויתם לאמר לא תנבאו׃
12 (UKJV) "But all of you gave the Nazarites wine to drink; and commanded the prophets, saying, Prophesy not. "

13 (HEM) הנה אנכי מעיק תחתיכם כאשר תעיק העגלה המלאה לה עמיר׃
13 (UKJV) Behold, I am pressed under you, as a cart is pressed that is full of sheaves.

14 (HEM) ואבד מנוס מקל וחזק לא יאמץ כחו וגבור לא ימלט נפשו׃
14 (UKJV) Therefore the flight shall perish from the swift, and the strong shall not strengthen his force, neither shall the mighty deliver himself:

15 (HEM) ותפש הקשת לא יעמד וקל ברגליו לא ימלט ורכב הסוס לא ימלט נפשו׃
15 (UKJV) "Neither shall he stand that handles the bow; and he that is swift of foot shall not deliver himself: neither shall he that rides the horse deliver himself. "

16 (HEM) ואמיץ לבו בגבורים ערום ינוס ביום ההוא נאם יהוה׃
16 (UKJV) And he that is courageous among the mighty shall flee away naked in that day, says the LORD.
