Am 1, 1-15

1 (KJV) The words of Amos, who was among the herdman of Tekoa, which he saw concerning Israel in the days of Uzziah king of Judah, and in the days of Jeroboam the son of Joash king of Israel, two years before the earthquake.
1 (B21) Slova Amose, jednoho z tekojských pastevců. Dva roky před zemětřesením, za vlády judského krále Uziáše a izraelského krále Jeroboáma, syna Jehoašova, měl vidění o Izraeli.

2 (KJV) And he said, The LORD will roar from Zion, and utter his voice from Jerusalem; and the habitations of the shepherds shall mourn, and the top of Carmel shall wither.
2 (B21) Říkal: Hospodin bude ze Sionu řvát, burácet bude z Jeruzaléma! Vyprahnou louky pastýřů, uschne i vrchol Karmelu.

3 (KJV) Thus saith the LORD; For three transgressions of Damascus, and for four, I will not turn away the punishment thereof; because they have threshed Gilead with threshing instruments of iron:
3 (B21) Toto praví Hospodin: Damašek hřešil trojnásob, čtyřnásob - už toho mám dost! Za to, že Gileáda mlátili cepy okovanými,

4 (KJV) But I will send a fire into the house of Hazael, which shall devour the palaces of Ben-hadad.
4 (B21) sešlu na Chazaelův dům oheň, aby pohltil Ben-hadadovy paláce.

5 (KJV) I will break also the bar of Damascus, and cut off the inhabitant from the plain of Aven, and him that holdeth the sceptre from the house of Eden: and the people of Syria shall go into captivity unto Kir, saith the LORD.
5 (B21) Rozlámu závoru Damašku; odstraním trůnícího v Údolí hříchu, třímajícího žezlo v Bet-edenu. Aramejský lid bude vyhnán do Kíru, praví Hospodin.

6 (KJV) Thus saith the LORD; For three transgressions of Gaza, and for four, I will not turn away the punishment thereof; because they carried away captive the whole captivity, to deliver them up to Edom:
6 (B21) Toto praví Hospodin: Gaza hřešila trojnásob, čtyřnásob - už toho mám dost! Za to, že vyháněli všechen lid a prodávali je Edomským,

7 (KJV) But I will send a fire on the wall of Gaza, which shall devour the palaces thereof:
7 (B21) sešlu na hradby Gazy oheň, aby pohltil její paláce.

8 (KJV) And I will cut off the inhabitant from Ashdod, and him that holdeth the sceptre from Ashkelon, and I will turn mine hand against Ekron: and the remnant of the Philistines shall perish, saith the Lord GOD.
8 (B21) Odstraním toho, kdo trůní v Ašdodu, kdo třímá žezlo v Aškelonu. Obrátím svou ruku proti Ekronu a zbytky Filištínů zahynou, praví Panovník Hospodin.

9 (KJV) Thus saith the LORD; For three transgressions of Tyrus, and for four, I will not turn away the punishment thereof; because they delivered up the whole captivity to Edom, and remembered not the brotherly covenant:
9 (B21) Toto praví Hospodin: Týr hřešil trojnásob, čtyřnásob - už toho mám dost! Za to, že prodávali vyhnance Edomským a na bratrskou smlouvu ani nevzpomněli,

10 (KJV) But I will send a fire on the wall of Tyrus, which shall devour the palaces thereof.
10 (B21) sešlu na hradby Týru oheň, aby pohltil jeho paláce.

11 (KJV) Thus saith the LORD; For three transgressions of Edom, and for four, I will not turn away the punishment thereof; because he did pursue his brother with the sword, and did cast off all pity, and his anger did tear perpetually, and he kept his wrath for ever:
11 (B21) Toto praví Hospodin: Edom hřešil trojnásob, čtyřnásob - už toho mám dost! Za to, že bratra stíhal mečem a všechen soucit potlačil, neustále jen soptil hněvem, dál a dál ve svém zuření -

12 (KJV) But I will send a fire upon Teman, which shall devour the palaces of Bozrah.
12 (B21) za to sešlu na Teman oheň, aby pohltil paláce v Bosře.

13 (KJV) Thus saith the LORD; For three transgressions of the children of Ammon, and for four, I will not turn away the punishment thereof; because they have ripped up the women with child of Gilead, that they might enlarge their border:
13 (B21) Toto praví Hospodin: Amonci hřešili trojnásob, čtyřnásob - už toho mám dost! Za to, že v Gileádu rozpárali těhotné, aby rozšiřovali své hranice,

14 (KJV) But I will kindle a fire in the wall of Rabbah, and it shall devour the palaces thereof, with shouting in the day of battle, with a tempest in the day of the whirlwind:
14 (B21) zapálím na hradbách Raby oheň, aby pohltil její paláce uprostřed vřavy v den boje, uprostřed bouře v den vichřice.

15 (KJV) And their king shall go into captivity, he and his princes together, saith the LORD.
15 (B21) Jejich král půjde do vyhnanství a jeho velmoži spolu s ním, praví Hospodin.

Za 14:5 - And ye shall flee to the valley of the mountains; for the valley of the mountains shall reach unto Azal: yea, ye shall flee, like as ye fled from before the earthquake in the days of Uzziah king of Judah: and the LORD my God shall come, and all the saints with thee.

Verš 2

And he said, The LORD will roar from Zion, and utter his voice from Jerusalem; and the habitations of the shepherds shall mourn, and the top of Carmel shall wither.

Jer 25:30 - Therefore prophesy thou against them all these words, and say unto them, The LORD shall roar from on high, and utter his voice from his holy habitation; he shall mightily roar upon his habitation; he shall give a shout, as they that tread the grapes, against all the inhabitants of the earth.

Joe 3:16 - The LORD also shall roar out of Zion, and utter his voice from Jerusalem; and the heavens and the earth shall shake: but the LORD will be the hope of his people, and the strength of the children of Israel.

Verš 5

Jer 17:1 - The sin of Judah is written with a pen of iron, and with the point of a diamond: it is graven upon the table of their heart, and upon the horns of your altars;

Jer 49:23 - Concerning Damascus. Hamath is confounded, and Arpad: for they have heard evil tidings: they are fainthearted; there is sorrow on the sea; it cannot be quiet.

2Kr 16:9 - And the king of Assyria hearkened unto him: for the king of Assyria went up against Damascus, and took it, and carried the people of it captive to Kir, and slew Rezin.

Verš 6

Thus saith the LORD; For three transgressions of Gaza, and for four, I will not turn away the punishment thereof; because they carried away captive the whole captivity, to deliver them up to Edom:

2Krn 21:16 - Moreover the LORD stirred up against Jehoram the spirit of the Philistines, and of the Arabians, that were near the Ethiopians:

2Krn 28:18 - The Philistines also had invaded the cities of the low country, and of the south of Judah, and had taken Beth-shemesh, and Ajalon, and Gederoth, and Shocho with the villages thereof, and Timnah with the villages thereof, Gimzo also and the villages thereof: and they dwelt there.
