1 (KAT) A Pán hovoril Mojžišovi:
1 (VUL) Locutusque est Dominus ad Moysen dicens:
1 (UKJV) And the LORD spoke unto Moses, saying,

2 (VUL) “ Hic est ri tus leprosi, quando mundandus est: adducetur ad sacerdotem,
2 (UKJV) This shall be the law of the leper in the day of his cleansing: He shall be brought unto the priest:

9 (VUL) Et die septimo radet capillos capitis barbamque et supercilia ac totius corporis pilos et lavabit vestimenta carnemque suam aqua, et mundus erit.
9 (UKJV) But it shall be on the seventh day, that he shall shave all his hair off his head and his beard and his eyebrows, even all his hair he shall shave off: and he shall wash his clothes, also he shall wash his flesh in water, and he shall be clean.

14 (UKJV) And the priest shall take some of the blood of the trespass offering, and the priest shall put it upon the tip of the right ear of him that is to be cleansed, and upon the thumb of his right hand, and upon the great toe of his right foot:

15 (UKJV) And the priest shall take some of the log of oil, and pour it into the palm of his own left hand:

54 (UKJV) This is the law for all manner of plague of leprosy, and scab,

„Toto je zákon o malomocných: V deň jeho očisťovania privedú ho ku kňazovi,
Mt 8:4 - Potom mu Ježiš povedal: „Daj si pozor a nikomu o tom nehovor, ale choď, ukáž sa kňazovi a prines obetný dar, ako predpísal Mojžiš - im na svedectvo.“
Mk 1:44 - a povedal mu: „Daj si pozor a nikomu nič nehovor, ale choď, ukáž sa kňazovi a prines za svoje očistenie obetu, ktorú predpísal Mojžiš - im na svedectvo.“
Lk 5:14 - A prikázal mu, že o tom nesmie nikomu hovoriť, ale: „Choď,“ povedal, „ukáž sa kňazovi a prines za svoje očistenie obetu, ako predpísal Mojžiš - im na svedectvo.“

Potom kňaz vezme jedného baránka a prinesie ho na obetu podlžnosti; takisto i log oleja a oboje bude podávať ako podávaciu obetu Pánovi.
Ex 29:24 - a toto všetko vložíš do rúk Árona a jeho synov, aby to obetovali ako podávaciu obetu Pánovi.

Verš 13
Potom zabije baránka na svätom mieste, na mieste, kde sa zabíja žertva za hriech a celostná žertva; lebo ako obeta za hriech, tak aj obeta podlžnosti patrí kňazovi; je svätosvätá.
Lv 7:7 - Pre obetu za hriech a obetu za spreneveru platí ten istý zákon. Bude patriť kňazovi, ktorý vykoná zmierny obrad.

Lv 14,1 - Malomocenstvo bolo symbolom hriechu a smrti. Vylučovalo človeka z pospolitosti a zabraňovalo mu zúčastniť sa na obetách alebo vstúpiť do nádvoria okolo stánku. Preto vyliečený z malomocenstva musel sa dvakrát očisťovať. Po prvý raz, aby mohol prísť medzi ostatných Izraelitov (2–9), po druhý raz, žeby sa mohol zúčastniť na obetách a vôbec na bohoslužbe (10–20). Malomocného musel kňaz prezrieť a len kňaz ho vyhlásil za zdravého (Mt 8,4; Lk 5,14).

Lv 14,10 - O efe pozri 5,11. Tri desatiny, čiže tri gomery (gomer 3,64. litra), teda približne 11 litrov. Log bola najmenšia židovská miera, merala 0,506 litra. O podávacej obete pozri 5,14 n. a 7,1 n.

Lv 14,14-18 - Pomazanie krvou je podobné ako pri svätení kňaza (8,23.24). Vyliečený pomazaním krvou a olejom, obetou tak celostnou, ako i potravinovou, prijímal sa medzi Boží ľud, do spoločenstva vyvoleného národa. Tieto obrady robili ho schopným zúčastňovať sa na Božej službe.

Lv 14,33-53 - Nejde o pravé malomocenstvo. Obrady očisťovania podobali sa tým, aké sa konali pri človeku, čo sa vyliečil z malomocenstva.
