1 (UKJV) "When I would have healed Israel, then the iniquity of Ephraim was discovered, and the wickedness of Samaria: for they commit falsehood; and the thief comes in, and the troop of robbers spoils without. "
1 (LS) Lorsque je voulais guérir Israël, L'iniquité d'Ephraïm et la méchanceté de Samarie se sont révélées, Car ils ont agi frauduleusement; Le voleur est arrivé, la bande s'est répandue au dehors.

2 (UKJV) "And they consider not in their hearts that I remember all their wickedness: now their own doings have beset them about; they are before my face. "
2 (LS) Ils ne se disent pas dans leur coeur Que je me souviens de toute leur méchanceté; Maintenant leurs oeuvres les entourent, Elles sont devant ma face.

3 (UKJV) They make the king glad with their wickedness, and the princes with their lies.
3 (LS) Ils réjouissent le roi par leur méchanceté, Et les chefs par leurs mensonges.

4 (UKJV) They are all adulterers, as an oven heated by the baker, who ceases from raising after he has kneaded the dough, until it be leavened.
4 (LS) Ils sont tous adultères, Semblables à un four chauffé par le boulanger: Il cesse d'attiser le feu Depuis qu'il a pétri la pâte jusqu'à ce qu'elle soit levée.

5 (UKJV) "In the day of our king the princes have made him sick with bottles of wine; he stretched out his hand with scorners. "
5 (LS) Au jour de notre roi, Les chefs se rendent malades par les excès du vin; Le roi tend la main aux moqueurs.

6 (UKJV) "For they have made ready their heart like an oven, while they lie in wait: their baker sleeps all the night; in the morning it burns as a flaming fire. "
6 (LS) Ils appliquent aux embûches leur coeur pareil à un four; Toute la nuit dort leur boulanger, Et au matin le four brûle comme un feu embrasé.

7 (UKJV) "They are all hot as an oven, and have devoured their judges; all their kings are fallen: there is none among them that calls unto me. "
7 (LS) Ils sont tous ardents comme un four, Et ils dévorent leurs juges; Tous leurs rois tombent: Aucun d'eux ne m'invoque.

8 (UKJV) "Ephraim, he has mixed himself among the people; Ephraim is a cake not turned. "
8 (LS) Ephraïm se mêle avec les peuples, Ephraïm est un gâteau qui n'a pas été retourné.

9 (UKJV) Strangers have devoured his strength, and he knows it not: yea, gray hairs are here and there upon him, yet he knows not.
9 (LS) Des étrangers consument sa force, Et il ne s'en doute pas; La vieillesse s'empare de lui, Et il ne s'en doute pas.

10 (UKJV) And the pride of Israel testifies to his face: and they do not return to the LORD their God, nor seek him for all this.
10 (LS) L'orgueil d'Israël témoigne contre lui; Ils ne reviennent pas à l'Eternel, leur Dieu, Et ils ne le cherchent pas, malgré tout cela.

11 (UKJV) Ephraim also is like a silly dove without heart: they call to Egypt, they go to Assyria.
11 (LS) Ephraïm est comme une colombe stupide, sans intelligence; Ils implorent l'Egypte, ils vont en Assyrie.

12 (UKJV) "When they shall go, I will spread my net upon them; I will bring them down as the fowls of the heaven; I will chastise them, as their congregation has heard. "
12 (LS) S'ils partent, j'étendrai sur eux mon filet, Je les précipiterai comme les oiseaux du ciel; Je les châtierai, comme ils en ont été avertis dans leur assemblée.

13 (UKJV) Woe unto them! for they have fled from me: destruction unto them! because they have transgressed against me: though I have redeemed them, yet they have spoken lies against me.
13 (LS) Malheur à eux, parce qu'ils me fuient! Ruine sur eux, parce qu'ils me sont infidèles! Je voudrais les sauver, Mais ils disent contre moi des paroles mensongères.

14 (UKJV) And they have not cried unto me with their heart, when they howled upon their beds: they assemble themselves for corn and wine, and they rebel against me.
14 (LS) Ils ne crient pas vers moi dans leur coeur, Mais ils se lamentent sur leur couche; Ils se rassemblent pour avoir du blé et du moût, Et ils s'éloignent de moi.

15 (UKJV) Though I have bound and strengthened their arms, yet do they imagine mischief against me.
15 (LS) Je les ai châtiés, j'ai fortifié leurs bras; Et ils méditent le mal contre moi.

16 (UKJV) They return, but not to the most High: they are like a deceitful bow: their princes shall fall by the sword for the rage of their tongue: this shall be their derision in the land of Egypt.
16 (LS) Ce n'est pas au Très-Haut qu'ils retournent; Ils sont comme un arc trompeur. Leurs chefs tomberont par l'épée, A cause de l'insolence de leur langue. C'est ce qui les rendra un objet de risée dans le pays d'Egypte.
