1 (KJV) Say ye unto your brethren, Ammi; and to your sisters, Ru-hamah.
1 (B21) Přesto však synů Izraele bude jako mořského písku, který se nedá změřit ani spočítat. Tam, kde slyšeli: "Nejste můj lid," jim budou říkat: "Synové živého Boha."
2 (KJV) Plead with your mother, plead: for she is not my wife, neither am I her husband: let her therefore put away her whoredoms out of her sight, and her adulteries from between her breasts;
2 (B21) Synové Judy a synové Izraele se sjednotí pod jediným vůdcem a povstanou ze země. Ano, veliký bude den Jizreele!
3 (KJV) Lest I strip her naked, and set her as in the day that she was born, and make her as a wilderness, and set her like a dry land, and slay her with thirst.
3 (B21) Říkejte svým bratrům: "Ami, Můj lid" a svým sestrám: "Ruchama, Milovaná".
4 (KJV) And I will not have mercy upon her children; for they be the children of whoredoms.
4 (B21) Žalujte matku svou, žalujte, neboť mi není manželkou a já nejsem jejím manželem! Ať očistí svou tvář od smilstva, cizoložství ať mezi prsy nechová -
5 (KJV) For their mother hath played the harlot: she that conceived them hath done shamefully: for she said, I will go after my lovers, that give me my bread and my water, my wool and my flax, mine oil and my drink.
5 (B21) jinak ji svléknu donaha, abych ji obnaženou ukázal jako v den, kdy se zrodila, a obrátím ji v poušť a suchopár, aby žízní zmírala.
6 (KJV) Therefore, behold, I will hedge up thy way with thorns, and make a wall, that she shall not find her paths.
6 (B21) Ani její děti nebudu milovat, protože jsou to děti ze smilstva.
7 (KJV) And she shall follow after her lovers, but she shall not overtake them; and she shall seek them, but shall not find them: then shall she say, I will go and return to my first husband; for then was it better with me than now.
7 (B21) Jejich matka totiž smilnila, nestydatá byla jejich rodička. Říkala: "Půjdu za svými milenci, kteří mi jídlo i vodu dávají, kteří mi dávají vlnu i len, olej i nápoje."
8 (KJV) For she did not know that I gave her corn, and wine, and oil, and multiplied her silver and gold, which they prepared for Baal.
8 (B21) Proto jí zatarasím cestu trním a zastavím ji zdí, aby netrefila svými stezkami.
9 (KJV) Therefore will I return, and take away my corn in the time thereof, and my wine in the season thereof, and will recover my wool and my flax given to cover her nakedness.
9 (B21) Za svými milenci se požene, ale nedožene je, bude je hledat, ale nenajde. Tehdy si řekne: "Vrátím se zpátky za svým manželem, vždyť mi s ním bylo líp než teď!"
10 (KJV) And now will I discover her lewdness in the sight of her lovers, and none shall deliver her out of mine hand.
10 (B21) Až dosud ale uznat nechtěla, že jsem jí obilí, víno i olej dával já, že jsem jí dával hojnost stříbra i zlata, které utráceli na Baala.
11 (KJV) I will also cause all her mirth to cease, her feast days, her new moons, and her sabbaths, and all her solemn feasts.
11 (B21) Své obilí si proto v čas sklizně vezmu zpět a v době vinobraní víno své; strhnu z ní svou vlnu i svůj len, jimiž se přikrývala ve své nahotě.
12 (KJV) And I will destroy her vines and her fig trees, whereof she hath said, These are my rewards that my lovers have given me: and I will make them a forest, and the beasts of the field shall eat them.
12 (B21) Brzy odhalím její sprostotu před zraky jejích milenců a nikdo ji nezachrání přede mnou.
13 (KJV) And I will visit upon her the days of Baalim, wherein she burned incense to them, and she decked herself with her earrings and her jewels, and she went after her lovers, and forgat me, saith the LORD.
13 (B21) Ukončím veškeré její veselí, její svátky i její novoluní, její soboty i všechny její slavnosti.
14 (KJV) Therefore, behold, I will allure her, and bring her into the wilderness, and speak comfortably unto her.
14 (B21) Zpustoším její vinice i fíkové sady, o kterých říká: "Tím mi zaplatili moji milenci," a proměním je v lesní houštiny, kde budou požírány divokými zvířaty.
15 (KJV) And I will give her her vineyards from thence, and the valley of Achor for a door of hope: and she shall sing there, as in the days of her youth, and as in the day when she came up out of the land of Egypt.
15 (B21) Potrestám ji za ty dny, ve kterých uctívá baaly kadidly a ozdobená náušnicemi a sponami chodí za svými milenci - na mě však vůbec nemyslí, praví Hospodin.
16 (KJV) And it shall be at that day, saith the LORD, that thou shalt call me Ishi; and shalt call me no more Baali.
16 (B21) Pak si ji ale znovu nakloním; povedu ji po poušti, kde k ní láskyplně promluvím.
17 (KJV) For I will take away the names of Baalim out of her mouth, and they shall no more be remembered by their name.
17 (B21) Její vinice jí tehdy navrátím, Rokle neštěstí se jí stane Bránou k naději, a tehdy mi odpoví jako zamlada, jako v den, kdy vyšla z Egypta.
18 (KJV) And in that day will I make a covenant for them with the beasts of the field, and with the fowls of heaven, and with the creeping things of the ground: and I will break the bow and the sword and the battle out of the earth, and will make them to lie down safely.
18 (B21) Toho dne, praví Hospodin, mi budeš říkat: "Manželi" - Baalem mě nenazveš už nikdy víc.
19 (KJV) And I will betroth thee unto me for ever; yea, I will betroth thee unto me in righteousness, and in judgment, and in lovingkindness, and in mercies.
19 (B21) Jména baalů totiž z tvých úst odstraním, aby už nebyli svým jménem vzýváni.
20 (KJV) I will even betroth thee unto me in faithfulness: and thou shalt know the LORD.
20 (B21) V ten den uzavřu smlouvu kvůli nim s divokou zvěří a s ptáky na nebi i s havětí, co leze po zemi; luk, meč a válku ze země vymýtím, všem dám odpočinout v bezpečí.
21 (KJV) And it shall come to pass in that day, I will hear, saith the LORD, I will hear the heavens, and they shall hear the earth;
21 (B21) Zasnoubím si tě navěky, zasnoubím si tě právem a spravedlností, láskou a milosrdenstvím.
22 (KJV) And the earth shall hear the corn, and the wine, and the oil; and they shall hear Jezreel.
22 (B21) Zasnoubím si tě také věrností, abys poznala, kdo je Hospodin.
23 (KJV) And I will sow her unto me in the earth; and I will have mercy upon her that had not obtained mercy; and I will say to them which were not my people, Thou art my people; and they shall say, Thou art my God.
23 (B21) V ten den odpovím, praví Hospodin, odpovím nebi a to odpoví zemi.
24 ----
24 (B21) Země odpoví obilí, vínu i oleji a to vše odpoví Jizreeli.
25 ----
25 (B21) Do země si jej zaseji a nad Lo-ruchamou se smiluji. Lo-amiho oslovím: "Jsi můj lid," a on mi odpoví: "Můj Bůh jsi ty!"

Verš 20
I will even betroth thee unto me in faithfulness: and thou shalt know the LORD.
Jer 31:33 - But this shall be the covenant that I will make with the house of Israel; After those days, saith the LORD, I will put my law in their inward parts, and write it in their hearts; and will be their God, and they shall be my people.
Verš 10
And now will I discover her lewdness in the sight of her lovers, and none shall deliver her out of mine hand.
Oz 5:14 - For I will be unto Ephraim as a lion, and as a young lion to the house of Judah: I, even I, will tear and go away; I will take away, and none shall rescue him.
Verš 12
And I will destroy her vines and her fig trees, whereof she hath said, These are my rewards that my lovers have given me: and I will make them a forest, and the beasts of the field shall eat them.

Iz 5:5 - And now go to; I will tell you what I will do to my vineyard: I will take away the hedge thereof, and it shall be eaten up; and break down the wall thereof, and it shall be trodden down:

Jób 5:23 - For thou shalt be in league with the stones of the field: and the beasts of the field shall be at peace with thee.
Iz 11:6 - The wolf also shall dwell with the lamb, and the leopard shall lie down with the kid; and the calf and the young lion and the fatling together; and a little child shall lead them.
Ez 14:21 - For thus saith the Lord GOD; How much more when I send my four sore judgments upon Jerusalem, the sword, and the famine, and the noisome beast, and the pestilence, to cut off from it man and beast?
Ez 34:25 - And I will make with them a covenant of peace, and will cause the evil beasts to cease out of the land: and they shall dwell safely in the wilderness, and sleep in the woods.
Verš 23
And I will sow her unto me in the earth; and I will have mercy upon her that had not obtained mercy; and I will say to them which were not my people, Thou art my people; and they shall say, Thou art my God.
Oz 1:10 - Yet the number of the children of Israel shall be as the sand of the sea, which cannot be measured nor numbered; and it shall come to pass, that in the place where it was said unto them, Ye are not my people, there it shall be said unto them, Ye are the sons of the living God.
Rim 9:26 - And it shall come to pass, that in the place where it was said unto them, Ye are not my people; there shall they be called the children of the living God.
1Pt 2:10 - Which in time past were not a people, but are now the people of God: which had not obtained mercy, but now have obtained mercy.
Oz 2,1-3 - (Vulg 1,10 – 2,1.) Po zavrhnutí starozákonného Izraela bude mať Boh nový národ, početný a jednotný. Vtedy aj mená, ktoré teraz znamenajú pre národ nešťastie, budú znieť ináč. Meno Jezrael bude mať svoj plný význam. Jezrael znamená "Pán seje" alebo "siatie Pánovo".
Oz 2,4-6 - Dietky národa majú žalovať na matku, na národ, že pre jej nevernosť k Bohu musia trpieť. Tým je vyslovená aj nádej, že sa národ ešte obráti, ak sa zriekne modloslužby. Pobehlice nosili závoj (Gn 38, 14 n.) a na prsiach rozličné amulety, podľa ktorých ich bolo možno poznať. Podobné ozdoby nosili Izraeliti k úcte svojich modiel. Ak sa týchto nezbavia, postaví Boh národ na pranier; ba pozbaví ho Boh každej ozdoby, ktorú mu on dal, takže budú biedni ako kedysi v Egypte. Pozri k tomu Ez hl. 16.
Oz 2,7-9 - Ako nehanebná žena za milencami, tak ide národ za svojimi modlami. No Boh znemožní modloslužbu.
Oz 2,10-12 - Veľký zločin bol, že dary, ktoré Boh dal národu, zneužívali na modloslužbu. Preto Boh, až príde na to čas, zničí úrodu; národ bude stáť ubiedený pred svojimi modlami, ktoré mu nepomôžu.
Oz 2,13 - Sviatky, novmesiace a soboty svätili sa k Pánovej úcte, lenže Izraeliti spájali Pánovu úctu s modloslužbou.
Oz 2,14 - Izraeliti si mysleli, že sa im modly odmieňajú za modloslužbu blahobytom. No Pán obráti ich záhrady na les.
Oz 2,15 - O báloch pozri pozn. k 1 Sam 7,3–4.
Oz 2,16 - Kedysi po východe z Egypta bol národ na pustatine Pánovi verný, preto ho i teraz vyvedie z jeho krajiny, aby sa obrátil k nemu. Prorok azda myslí na zajatie národa, kde sa ten naozaj zbavil modloslužby.
Oz 2,17 - Údolie, v ktorom Izraeliti za čias Jozueho utrpeli pre Achanov zločin porážku (Joz hl. 7), nazvali údolím Achor, údolím nešťastia. Toto údolie im bolo súčasne aj bránou nádeje, lebo odtiaľ vstúpili po pretrpení trestu s novou nádejou do zasľúbenej zeme a zaujali jej bohaté vinice. Podobne bude s národom zaobchádzať aj teraz a národ bude zase taký, aký bol po východe z Egypta.
Oz 2,18 - Oslovenie "Môj Bál!" znamená: "môj pán" alebo "môj manžel". I Boha by bolo možno právom takto osloviť, lebo je naozaj Pán a manžel vyvoleného národa, ale Boh nenávidí toto oslovenie, pretože pripomína modlu.
Oz 2,20 - V dobe spásy, keď sa národ obráti k Bohu, nič ho nebude znepokojovať.
Oz 2,21 - Pri zasnúbení dával ženích neveste dary. Pánove zásnubné dary, keď si zasnúbi svoj národ, budú pravda, právo, láska, milosrdenstvo a vernosť.
Oz 2,24 - Pozri význam mena Jezrael v pozn. k 2,1–3 a porov. 1,3–8. – Mená Ozeášových dietok i tu zvýrazňujú Izraelitov, lenže tu má prorok na mysli už nový Izrael.
