1 (KAT) Zhynie Samária, pretože sa vzpierala svojmu Bohu; pod mečom budú padať, nemluvňatá im rozdrvia, rozpárajú im ťarchavé.
1 (VUL) Poenas solvet Samaria, quoniam rebellavit contra Deum suum: in gladio peribunt, parvuli eorum elidentur, et praegnantes discindentur.
1 (UKJV) "O israel, return unto the LORD your God; for you have fallen by your iniquity. "

2 (KAT) Obráť sa, Izrael, k Pánovi, svojmu Bohu, veď pre svoju vinu si upadol!
2 (VUL) Convertere, Israel, ad Dominum Deum tuum, quoniam corruisti in iniquitate tua.
2 (UKJV) Take with you words, and turn to the LORD: say unto him, Take away all iniquity, and receive us graciously: so will we render the calves of our lips.

3 (KAT) Vezmite so sebou slová a obráťte sa k Pánovi; povedzte mu: „Odpusť každú vinu a láskavo nás prijmi, zaplatíme plodom svojich perí!
3 (VUL) Tollite vobiscum verba et convertimini ad Dominum; dicite ei: “ Omnem aufer iniquitatem et accipe bonum, et reddemus fructum labiorum nostrorum.
3 (UKJV) "Asshur shall not save us; we will not ride upon horses: neither will we say any more to the work of our hands, All of you are our gods: for in you the fatherless finds mercy. "

4 (KAT) Asýrsko nás nezachráni, už nebudeme jazdiť na koňoch a nebudeme viac hovoriť: »Naši bohovia!« dielam svojich rúk, lebo u teba nájde milosť sirota.“

6 (KAT) Budem Izraelu ako rosa, prekvitať bude ako ľalia a zapustí korene sťa Libanon;

6 (UKJV) His branches shall spread, and his beauty shall be as the olive tree, and his smell as Lebanon.

7 (KAT) konáre sa mu rozrastú, nádherný bude ako oliva a voňať bude ako Libanon.
7 (VUL) Expandentur rami eius; et erit quasi oliva gloria eius, et odor eius ut Libani.
7 (UKJV) "They that dwell under his shadow shall return; they shall revive as the corn, and grow as the vine: the scent thereof shall be as the wine of Lebanon. "

8 (KAT) Obrátia sa, čo sedia v jeho tôni, žiť budú z obilia a rozkvitnú ako vinič, ktorý má chýr ako víno z Libanonu.
8 (VUL) Convertentur sedentes in umbra mea, colent triticum et germinabunt quasi vinea; memoriale eius sicut vinum Libani.
8 (UKJV) Ephraim shall say, What have I to do any more with idols? I have heard him, and observed him: I am like a green fir tree. From me is your fruit found.

9 (KAT) Efraim, čo chceš ešte s modlami? Ja vyslyším a vzpriamim ho ako jedľu zelenú. Že máš ovocie, to je odo mňa.“
9 (VUL) Ephraim, quid ei ultra idola? Ego exaudio et respicio in eum. Ego ut abies virens: ex me fructus tuus invenitur ”.
9 (UKJV) Who is wise, and he shall understand these things? prudent, and he shall know them? for the ways of the LORD are right, and the just shall walk in them: but the transgressors shall fall therein.

10 (KAT) Kto je múdry, aby tieto veci pochopil a rozumný, aby ich porozumel? Lebo Pánove cesty sú priame a spravodliví po nich kráčajú, ale vzbúrenci na nich klesnú.
10 (VUL) Qui sapiens est, intellegat ista; intellegens sciat haec! Quia rectae viae Domini, et iusti ambulabunt in eis; praevaricatores vero corruent in eis.
