1 (HEM) דבר יהוה אשר היה אל הושע בן בארי בימי עזיה יותם אחז יחזקיה מלכי יהודה ובימי ירבעם בן יואש מלך ישראל׃
1 (UKJV) The word of the LORD that came unto Hosea, the son of Beeri, in the days of Uzziah, Jotham, Ahaz, and Hezekiah, kings of Judah, and in the days of Jeroboam the son of Joash, king of Israel.
2 (HEM) תחלת דבר יהוה בהושע ויאמר יהוה אל הושע לך קח לך אשת זנונים וילדי זנונים כי זנה תזנה הארץ מאחרי יהוה׃
2 (UKJV) The beginning of the word of the LORD by Hosea. And the LORD said to Hosea, Go, take unto you a wife of whoredoms and children of whoredoms: for the land has committed great whoredom, departing from the LORD.
3 (HEM) וילך ויקח את גמר בת דבלים ותהר ותלד לו בן׃
3 (UKJV) "So he went and took Gomer the daughter of Diblaim; which conceived, and bare him a son. "
4 (HEM) ויאמר יהוה אליו קרא שמו יזרעאל כי עוד מעט ופקדתי את דמי יזרעאל על בית יהוא והשבתי ממלכות בית ישראל׃
4 (UKJV) "And the LORD said unto him, Call his name Jezreel; for yet a little while, and I will avenge the blood of Jezreel upon the house of Jehu, and will cause to cease the kingdom of the house of Israel. "
5 (HEM) והיה ביום ההוא ושברתי את קשת ישראל בעמק יזרעאל׃
5 (UKJV) And it shall come to pass at that day, that I will break the bow of Israel, in the valley of Jezreel.
6 (HEM) ותהר עוד ותלד בת ויאמר לו קרא שמה לא רחמה כי לא אוסיף עוד ארחם את בית ישראל כי נשא אשא להם׃
6 (UKJV) "And she conceived again, and bare a daughter. And God said unto him, Call her name Loruhamah: for I will no more have mercy upon the house of Israel; but I will utterly take them away. "
7 (HEM) ואת בית יהודה ארחם והושעתים ביהוה אלהיהם ולא אושיעם בקשת ובחרב ובמלחמה בסוסים ובפרשים׃
7 (UKJV) But I will have mercy upon the house of Judah, and will save them by the LORD their God, and will not save them by bow, nor by sword, nor by battle, by horses, nor by horsemen.
8 (HEM) ותגמל את לא רחמה ותהר ותלד בן׃
8 (UKJV) Now when she had weaned Loruhamah, she conceived, and bare a son.
9 (HEM) ויאמר קרא שמו לא עמי כי אתם לא עמי ואנכי לא אהיה לכם׃
9 (UKJV) Then said God, Call his name Loammi: for all of you are not my people, and I will not be your God.
10 (HEM) והיה מספר בני ישראל כחול הים אשר לא ימד ולא יספר והיה במקום אשר יאמר להם לא עמי אתם יאמר להם בני אל חי׃
10 (UKJV) "Yet the number of the children of Israel shall be as the sand of the sea, which cannot be measured nor numbered; and it shall come to pass, that in the place where it was said unto them, All of you are not my people, there it shall be said unto them, All of you are the sons of the living God. "
11 (HEM) ונקבצו בני יהודה ובני ישראל יחדו ושמו להם ראש אחד ועלו מן הארץ כי גדול יום יזרעאל׃
11 (UKJV) Then shall the children of Judah and the children of Israel be gathered together, and appoint themselves one head, and they shall come up out of the land: for great shall be the day of Jezreel.

והיה מספר בני ישראל כחול הים אשר לא ימד ולא יספר והיה במקום אשר יאמר להם לא עמי אתם יאמר להם בני אל חי׃
Gn 32:12 - ואתה אמרת היטב איטיב עמך ושמתי את זרעך כחול הים אשר לא יספר מרב׃
Rim 9:25 - כדברו בהושע אקרא ללא עמי עמי וללא רחמה רחמה׃

ונקבצו בני יהודה ובני ישראל יחדו ושמו להם ראש אחד ועלו מן הארץ כי גדול יום יזרעאל׃
Iz 11:13 - וסרה קנאת אפרים וצררי יהודה יכרתו אפרים לא יקנא את יהודה ויהודה לא יצר את אפרים׃
Jer 3:18 - בימים ההמה ילכו בית יהודה על בית ישראל ויבאו יחדו מארץ צפון על הארץ אשר הנחלתי את אבותיכם׃
Ez 37:16 - ואתה בן אדם קח לך עץ אחד וכתב עליו ליהודה ולבני ישראל חברו ולקח עץ אחד וכתוב עליו ליוסף עץ אפרים וכל בית ישראל חברו׃
Ez 37:22 - ועשיתי אתם לגוי אחד בארץ בהרי ישראל ומלך אחד יהיה לכלם למלך ולא יהיה עוד לשני גוים ולא יחצו עוד לשתי ממלכות עוד׃
Ef 2:14 - כי הוא שלומנו אשר עשה השנים לאחד והרס מחיצת הגדר׃
Oz 1,1 - O Ozeášovi, o jeho otcovi Bérim a o júdskych a izraelských kráľoch Ozeášovej doby pozri úvod o tomto prorokovi.
Oz 1,2 - Pomer Boha k Izraelu zvýrazňuje sa obrazom manželstva; pozri pozn. k Iz 50,1 n. Prorok Ozeáš svojím manželstvom má naznačovať milosrdenstvo Pána, ktorý po prechode cez Červené more na hore Sinaj uzavrel s národom manželskú zmluvu, hoci národ už v Egypte, pred uzavretím zmluvy, páchal modloslužbu. Dietky – Izraeliti – nie sú lepší než ich matka. Smilstvom a cudzoložstvom sa volá modloslužba, lebo touto pácha národ nevernosť k Pánovi.
Oz 1,4 - Jezrael bola úrodná rovina na území kmeňa Isachar. Na východnom kraji tejto roviny ležalo mesto toho istého mena (neskoršie sa volalo aj Esdrelon). Tu spáchal Achab a jeho manželka Jezabel hrozný zločin na Nabotovi, preto – podľa proroctva Eliášovho (1 Kr 21) – na tom istom mieste vyhubil Jehu dom Achabov (2 Kr 9,24 – 10,11). Dynastia Jehuova, ktorá v časoch Ozeášových panovala v Severnej ríši, nebola o nič lepšia, preto sa aj jej vina volá vinou Jezraela. Prorok predpovedá zánik Jehuovho domu, čo sa splnilo, keď Selum zavraždil posledného kráľa z toho domu r. 743 (2 Kr 15,10); súčasne však predpovedá aj zánik celej Severnej ríše. Ríša zanikla v 722/21 pr. Kr. – Meno Ozeášovho syna bolo teda symbolické.
Oz 1,6-9 - Meno druhého dieťaťa znamená už pre národ stratu Božej lásky, meno tretieho rozviazanie zmluvy, ktorú Boh s Izraelom uzavrel, teda úplné zavrhnutie národa. Predpoveď v. 7, ktorý mnohí pokladajú za neskorší dodatok, splnila sa v r. 701, keď Boh zázračne zachránil Jeruzalem; pozri 2 Kr 19,34; Iz hl. 36 – 37.
