Kniha proroka Daniela

1 (KJV) Belshazzar the king made a great feast to a thousand of his lords, and drank wine before the thousand.
1 (KAT) Kráľ Baltazár usporiadal hostinu pre svojich tisíc veľmožov a pred tisícmi pil víno.

2 (KJV) Belshazzar, whiles he tasted the wine, commanded to bring the golden and silver vessels which his father Nebuchadnezzar had taken out of the temple which was in Jerusalem; that the king, and his princes, his wives, and his concubines, might drink therein.
2 (KAT) Pri pití vína rozkázal Baltazár priniesť zlaté a strieborné nádoby, ktoré jeho otec Nabuchodonozor dal odniesť z jeruzalemského chrámu, aby z nich pili kráľ, jeho veľmoži, jeho manželky i jeho vedľajšie ženy.

3 (KJV) Then they brought the golden vessels that were taken out of the temple of the house of God which was at Jerusalem; and the king, and his princes, his wives, and his concubines, drank in them.
3 (KAT) I doniesli zlaté nádoby, ktoré odvliekli z jeruzalemského domu Božieho, a pili z nich kráľ, jeho veľmoži, jeho manželky i jeho vedľajšie ženy.

4 (KJV) They drank wine, and praised the gods of gold, and of silver, of brass, of iron, of wood, and of stone.
4 (KAT) Pili víno a oslavovali zlatých, strieborných, kovových, železných, drevených a kamenných bohov.

5 (KJV) In the same hour came forth fingers of a man's hand, and wrote over against the candlestick upon the plaister of the wall of the king's palace: and the king saw the part of the hand that wrote.
5 (KAT) V tú chvíľu sa zjavili prsty ľudskej ruky a písali oproti svietniku na vápno múru kráľovského paláca. A kráľ videl prsty ruky, ktorá písala.

6 (KJV) Then the king's countenance was changed, and his thoughts troubled him, so that the joints of his loins were loosed, and his knees smote one against another.
6 (KAT) Vtom sa zmenila kráľova farba a jeho myšlienky ho podesili, bederné kĺby sa mu uvoľnili a kolená sa mu trepotali o seba.

7 (KJV) The king cried aloud to bring in the astrologers, the Chaldeans, and the soothsayers. And the king spake, and said to the wise men of Babylon, Whosoever shall read this writing, and shew me the interpretation thereof, shall be clothed with scarlet, and have a chain of gold about his neck, and shall be the third ruler in the kingdom.
7 (KAT) Kráľ silno zakričal, aby priviedli veštcov, Chaldejcov a hádačov; a kráľ povedal mudrcom Babylonu: „Ktokoľvek prečíta toto písmo a vyloží mi jeho význam, bude sa obliekať do purpuru, zlatú reťaz bude mať na hrdle a ako tretí bude vládnuť v mojom kráľovstve.“

8 (KJV) Then came in all the king's wise men: but they could not read the writing, nor make known to the king the interpretation thereof.
8 (KAT) Vtedy prišli všetci kráľovi mudrci, no nevedeli písmo prečítať ani vyložiť jeho význam kráľovi.

9 (KJV) Then was king Belshazzar greatly troubled, and his countenance was changed in him, and his lords were astonied.
9 (KAT) Nato sa kráľ Baltazár veľmi naľakal, farba sa na ňom premenila a jeho veľmoži boli rozrušení.

10 (KJV) Now the queen, by reason of the words of the king and his lords, came into the banquet house: and the queen spake and said, O king, live for ever: let not thy thoughts trouble thee, nor let thy countenance be changed:
10 (KAT) Na reči kráľa a jeho veľmožov vstúpila do hodovného domu kráľovná a povedala: „Kráľu, ži naveky! Nech ťa tvoje myšlienky nedesia a farba nech sa ti nemení!

11 (KJV) There is a man in thy kingdom, in whom is the spirit of the holy gods; and in the days of thy father light and understanding and wisdom, like the wisdom of the gods, was found in him; whom the king Nebuchadnezzar thy father, the king, I say, thy father, made master of the magicians, astrologers, Chaldeans, and soothsayers;
11 (KAT) Je v tvojom kráľovstve muž, na ktorom je duch svätých bohov. V dňoch tvojho otca bola uňho zistená rozumnosť, dôvtip a múdrosť ako múdrosť bohov a tvoj otec, kráľ Nabuchodonozor, ho ustanovil za náčelníka čarodejov, veštcov, Chaldejcov a hádačov; tvoj otec, kráľ.

12 (KJV) Forasmuch as an excellent spirit, and knowledge, and understanding, interpreting of dreams, and shewing of hard sentences, and dissolving of doubts, were found in the same Daniel, whom the king named Belteshazzar: now let Daniel be called, and he will shew the interpretation.
12 (KAT) Pretože u Daniela, ktorému kráľ dal meno Baltazár, sa zistil vyšší duch, vedomosť, rozumnosť, vykladanie snov, rozlúšťovanie záhad a riešenie ťažkostí. Nech teraz zavolajú Daniela a povie výklad!“

13 (KJV) Then was Daniel brought in before the king. And the king spake and said unto Daniel, Art thou that Daniel, which art of the children of the captivity of Judah, whom the king my father brought out of Jewry?
13 (KAT) Nato priviedli Daniela pred kráľa a kráľ povedal Danielovi: „Ty si Daniel spomedzi júdskych zajatcov, ktorých môj otec, kráľ, priviedol z Júdska?

14 (KJV) I have even heard of thee, that the spirit of the gods is in thee, and that light and understanding and excellent wisdom is found in thee.
14 (KAT) Počul som o tebe, že je na tebe duch bohov a že sa ukázalo že si dôvtipný, rozumný a veľmi múdry.

15 (KJV) And now the wise men, the astrologers, have been brought in before me, that they should read this writing, and make known unto me the interpretation thereof: but they could not shew the interpretation of the thing:
15 (KAT) Teraz priviedli predo mňa mudrcov a veštcov, aby prečítali toto písmo a oznámili mi jeho význam, no nevedeli mi povedať význam veci.

16 (KJV) And I have heard of thee, that thou canst make interpretations, and dissolve doubts: now if thou canst read the writing, and make known to me the interpretation thereof, thou shalt be clothed with scarlet, and have a chain of gold about thy neck, and shalt be the third ruler in the kingdom.
16 (KAT) Počul som však o tebe, že vieš vyložiť nejasné a rozuzľovať ťažkosti. Ak mi teda vieš prečítať toto písmo a podať jeho výklad, do purpuru sa budeš obliekať, zlatú reťaz budeš mať na hrdle a ako tretí budeš vládnuť v kráľovstve.“

17 (KJV) Then Daniel answered and said before the king, Let thy gifts be to thyself, and give thy rewards to another; yet I will read the writing unto the king, and make known to him the interpretation.
17 (KAT) Nato Daniel odpovedal kráľovi: „Svoje dary si nechaj a svoje odmeny daj inému! Písmo však prečítam kráľovi a jeho význam mu vyložím.

18 (KJV) O thou king, the most high God gave Nebuchadnezzar thy father a kingdom, and majesty, and glory, and honour:
18 (KAT) Kráľu, najvyšší Boh dal tvojmu otcovi Nabuchodonozorovi kráľovstvo, moc, vznešenosť a slávu.

19 (KJV) And for the majesty that he gave him, all people, nations, and languages, trembled and feared before him: whom he would he slew; and whom he would he kept alive; and whom he would he set up; and whom he would he put down.
19 (KAT) Pre veľkosť, ktorú mu dal, triasli sa pred ním všetky národy, kmene a nárečia; koho chcel, toho zabil, a koho chcel, nechal nažive; koho chcel, toho povýšil, a koho chcel, toho pokoril.

20 (KJV) But when his heart was lifted up, and his mind hardened in pride, he was deposed from his kingly throne, and they took his glory from him:
20 (KAT) Keď sa mu však srdce povýšilo a duch mu zmocnel v pýche, bol zhodený z trónu svojho kráľovstva a jeho sláva mu bola odňatá.

21 (KJV) And he was driven from the sons of men; and his heart was made like the beasts, and his dwelling was with the wild asses: they fed him with grass like oxen, and his body was wet with the dew of heaven; till he knew that the most high God ruled in the kingdom of men, and that he appointeth over it whomsoever he will.
21 (KAT) I vyhnali ho spomedzi ľudí, jeho srdce sa podobalo zvieraciemu, s divými oslami sa zdržoval, trávu mu dali jesť ako dobytku a telo mu kropila nebeská rosa, kým nepoznal, že vládcom nad ľudským kráľovstvom je najvyšší Boh a koho chce, toho nadeň postaví.

22 (KJV) And thou his son, O Belshazzar, hast not humbled thine heart, though thou knewest all this;
22 (KAT) A ty, jeho syn Baltazár, neponížil si si srdce, hoci si vedel toto všetko,

23 (KJV) But hast lifted up thyself against the LORD of heaven; and they have brought the vessels of his house before thee, and thou, and thy lords, thy wives, and thy concubines, have drunk wine in them; and thou hast praised the gods of silver, and gold, of brass, iron, wood, and stone, which see not, nor hear, nor know: and the God in whose hand thy breath is, and whose are all thy ways, hast thou not glorified:
23 (KAT) ale vyvyšoval si sa nad Pána nebies. Doniesli pred teba nádoby jeho domu a ty, tvoji veľmoži, tvoje manželky a tvoje vedľajšie ženy pili ste z nich víno. Vychvaľoval si strieborných, zlatých, kovových, železných, drevených a kamenných bohov, ktorí nevidia, nepočujú a nechápu, ale Boha, v ktorého ruke je tvoj dych a všetky tvoje cesty, si neoslavoval.

24 (KJV) Then was the part of the hand sent from him; and this writing was written.
24 (KAT) Preto on poslal tieto prsty a napísal toto písmo.

25 (KJV) And this is the writing that was written, MENE, MENE, TEKEL, UPHARSIN.
25 (KAT) Toto je teda písmo, ktoré je napísané: Mene, Tekel, Ufarsin.

26 (KJV) This is the interpretation of the thing: MENE; God hath numbered thy kingdom, and finished it.
26 (KAT) A toto je význam slov: Mene: Boh spočítal tvoje kráľovstvo a urobil mu koniec.

27 (KJV) TEKEL; Thou art weighed in the balances, and art found wanting.
27 (KAT) Tekel: Odvážili ťa na váhe a našli ťa priľahkým.

28 (KJV) PERES; Thy kingdom is divided, and given to the Medes and Persians.
28 (KAT) Peres: Rozdelené je tvoje kráľovstvo a odovzdané Médom a Peržanom.“

29 (KJV) Then commanded Belshazzar, and they clothed Daniel with scarlet, and put a chain of gold about his neck, and made a proclamation concerning him, that he should be the third ruler in the kingdom.
29 (KAT) Vtedy Baltazár rozkázal a Daniela obliekli do purpuru, na hrdlo mu dali zlatú reťaz a vyhlásili o ňom, že má ako tretí vládnuť v kráľovstve.

30 (KJV) In that night was Belshazzar the king of the Chaldeans slain.
30 (KAT) V tú noc babylonského kráľa Baltazára zabili.

31 (KJV) And Darius the Median took the kingdom, being about threescore and two years old.
