Kniha proroka Daniela

1 (KAT) V treťom roku perzského kráľa Kýra bolo Danielovi, ktorý sa volá Baltazár, zjavené slovo. Slovo o veľkom utrpení je pravdivé. Pozoroval to slovo a vo videní dostal vysvetlenie.
1 (VUL) Anno tertio Cyri regis Per sarum verbum revelatum est Danieli cognomento Baltassar, et verum verbum et acies magna; intellexitque sermonem, intellegentia enim fuit ei in visione.
1 (UKJV) "In the third year of Cyrus king of Persia a thing was revealed unto Daniel, whose name was called Belteshazzar; and the thing was true, but the time appointed was long: and he understood the thing, and had understanding of the vision. "

2 (KAT) V tých dňoch som bol ja, Daniel, v smútku za celé tri týždne.
2 (VUL) In diebus illis ego Daniel lugebam tribus hebdomadis dierum,
2 (UKJV) In those days I Daniel was mourning three full weeks.

3 (KAT) Chutný chlieb som nezjedol, mäso a víno mi nevošlo do úst a vôbec som sa nepomazal, kým neprešli celé tri týždne.
3 (VUL) panem desiderabilem non comedi, et caro et vinum non introierunt in os meum, sed neque unguento unctus sum, donec complerentur tres hebdomades dierum.
3 (UKJV) I ate no pleasant bread, neither came flesh nor wine in my mouth, neither did I anoint myself at all, till three whole weeks were fulfilled.

4 (KAT) Na dvadsiaty štvrtý deň prvého mesiaca som však bol pri brehu veľkej rieky, (je to Tigris).
4 (VUL) Die autem vicesima et quarta mensis primi eram iuxta fluvium magnum, qui est Tigris,
4 (UKJV) "And in the four and twentieth day of the first month, as I was by the side of the great river, which is Hiddekel; "

5 (KAT) Zdvihol som oči, díval som sa a hľa, človek odiaty do plátna a driek mal prepásaný ofazským zlatom.
5 (VUL) et levavi oculos meos et vidi: et ecce vir unus vestitus lineis, et renes eius accincti auro obryzo;
5 (UKJV) Then I lifted up mine eyes, and looked, and behold a certain man clothed in linen, whose loins were girded with fine gold of Uphaz:

6 (KAT) Jeho telo bolo ako chryzolit, jeho tvár ako zjav blesku, jeho oči ako ohnivé fakle, jeho ramená a nohy ako svit ligotavého kovu a zvuk jeho reči ako hukot zástupu.
6 (VUL) et corpus eius quasi chrysolithus, et facies eius velut species fulgoris, et oculi eius ut lampas ardens, et brachia eius et, quae deorsum sunt usque ad pedes, quasi species aeris candentis, et vox sermonum eius ut vox multitudinis.
6 (UKJV) His body also was like the beryl, and his face as the appearance of lightning, and his eyes as lamps of fire, and his arms and his feet like in colour to polished brass, and the voice of his words like the voice of a multitude.

7 (KAT) Videnie som videl ja, Daniel, sám, mužovia však, ktorí boli so mnou, videnie nevideli, iba sa ich zmocnil veľký strach a utekali sa schovať.
7 (VUL) Vidi autem ego Daniel solus visionem; porro viri, qui erant mecum, visionem non viderunt, sed terror nimius irruit super eos, et fugerunt in absconditum.
7 (UKJV) "And I Daniel alone saw the vision: for the men that were with me saw not the vision; but a great quaking fell upon them, so that they fled to hide themselves. "

8 (KAT) Ostal som teda sám a videl som toto veľké videnie. Nezvýšilo mi sily, ale aj môj výzor sa hrozne zmenil a neudržal som si silu.
8 (VUL) Ego autem relictus solus vidi visionem grandem hanc, et non remansit in me fortitudo, sed et species mea immutata est in me usque ad dissipationem, nec habui quidquam virium.
8 (UKJV) Therefore I was left alone, and saw this great vision, and there remained no strength in me: for my loveliness was turned in me into corruption, and I retained no strength.

9 (KAT) Vtom som počul zvuk jeho slov. A len čo som počul zvuk jeho slov, padol som omdletý na tvár a ležal som tvárou k zemi.
9 (VUL) Et audivi vocem sermonum eius; et audiens vocem sermonum eius iacebam consternatus super faciem meam, et vultus meus haerebat terrae.
9 (UKJV) Yet heard I the voice of his words: and when I heard the voice of his words, then was I in a deep sleep on my face, and my face toward the ground.

10 (KAT) Tu sa ma dotkla ruka a zdvihla ma na kolená a na dlane rúk
10 (VUL) Et ecce manus tetigit me et erexit me super genua mea et super palmas manuum mearum,
10 (UKJV) And, behold, an hand touched me, which set me upon my knees and upon the palms of my hands.

11 (VUL) et dixit ad me: “ Daniel, vir desideriorum, intellege verba, quae ego loquor ad te, et sta in gradu tuo; nunc enim sum missus ad te ”. Cumque dixisset mihi sermonem istum, steti tremens.
11 (UKJV) And he said unto me, O Daniel, a man greatly beloved, understand the words that I speak unto you, and stand upright: for unto you am I now sent. And when he had spoken this word unto me, I stood trembling.

12 (KAT) I riekol mi: „Neboj sa, Daniel! Od prvého dňa, čo si si upriamil srdce, aby si pochopil a pokoroval sa pred svojím Bohom, sú vyslyšané tvoje slová a ja som prišiel pre tvoje slová.
12 (VUL) Et ait ad me: “ Noli metuere, Daniel, quia ex die primo, quo posuisti cor tuum ad intellegendum et ad humiliandum te in conspectu Dei tui, exaudita sunt verba tua; et ego veni propter sermones tuos.
12 (UKJV) Then said he unto me, Fear not, Daniel: for from the first day that you did set your heart to understand, and to chasten yourself before your God, your words were heard, and I am come for your words.

13 (KAT) Ale knieža Perzského kráľovstva stálo proti mne dvadsaťjeden dní a hľa, Michal, jedno z prvých kniežat, prišlo mi na pomoc a nechal som ho tam pri kniežati perzského kráľa.
13 (VUL) Princeps autem regni Persarum restitit mihi viginti et uno diebus; et ecce Michael, unus de principibus primis, venit in adiutorium meum; et ego remansi ibi iuxta regem Persarum.
13 (UKJV) "But the prince of the kingdom of Persia withstood me one and twenty days: but, lo, Michael, one of the chief princes, came to help me; and I remained there with the kings of Persia. "

14 (KAT) Prišiel som teda vyložiť, čo postihne na konci dní tvoj ľud, lebo o tých dňoch bude ešte videnie.“
14 (VUL) Veni autem, ut docerem te, quae ventura sunt populo tuo in novissimis diebus, quoniam adhuc visio in dies ”.
14 (UKJV) Now I am come to make you understand what shall befall your people in the latter days: for yet the vision is for many days.

15 (KAT) Kým mi hovoril tieto slová, sklonil som si tvár k zemi a mlčal som.
15 (VUL) Cumque loqueretur mihi huiuscemodi verbis, deieci vultum meum ad terram et tacui.
15 (UKJV) And when he had spoken such words unto me, I set my face toward the ground, and I became dumb.

16 (KAT) A hľa, ľudským spôsobom sa mi dotkol perí. Nato som otvoril ústa, a povedal som tomu, čo stál proti mne: „Pane môj, pri videní som sa zvíjal od bolesti a neostalo vo mne sily.
16 (VUL) Et ecce quasi similitudo filiorum hominis tetigit labia mea; et aperiens os meum locutus sum et dixi ad eum, qui stabat contra me: “ Domine mi, in visione angustiae venerunt super me, et nihil in me remansit virium.
16 (UKJV) And, behold, one like the embodiment of the sons of men touched my lips: then I opened my mouth, and spoke, and said unto him that stood before me, O my lord, by the vision my sorrows are turned upon me, and I have retained no strength.

17 (KAT) Ako by teda mohol sluha môjho pána hovoriť tu s mojím pánom? Veď vo mne odteraz niet sily, ani dych nezostal vo mne!“
17 (VUL) Et quomodo poterit servus domini mei loqui cum hoc domino meo? Nihil enim in me remansit virium, et halitus meus non remansit in me ”.
17 (UKJV) For how can the servant of this my lord talk with this my lord? for as for me, immediately there remained no strength in me, neither is there breath left in me.

18 (KAT) Vtom sa ma znova dotkol ten, čo vyzeral ako človek a posilňoval ma.
18 (VUL) Rursum ergo tetigit me quasi visio hominis et confortavit me
18 (UKJV) Then there came again and touched me one like the appearance of a man, and he strengthened me,

19 (KAT) I povedal mi: „Neboj sa, miláčik, pokoj s tebou, posilni, posilni sa!“ A kým hovoril so mnou, nadobudol som silu a vravel som: „Hovor, môj pane, veď si ma posilnil!“
19 (VUL) et dixit: “Noli timere, vir desideriorum; pax tibi, confortare et esto robustus ”. Cumque loqueretur mecum, convalui et dixi: “ Loquere, domine mi, quia confortasti me ”.

20 (KAT) Hovoril teda: „Či vieš, prečo som prišiel k tebe? Ale oznámim ti, čo je napísané v spoľahlivom písme.
20 (VUL) Et ait: “ Numquid scis, quare venerim ad te? Et nunc revertar, ut proelier adversum principem Persarum. Et ego egrediar, et ecce princeps Graecorum veniens.
20 (UKJV) Then said he, Know you wherefore I come unto you? and now will I return to fight with the prince of Persia: and when I am gone forth, lo, the prince of Grecia shall come.

21 (KAT) A teraz sa vrátim bojovať s perzským kniežaťom. Len čo vytiahnem, už prichádza knieža grécke; a niet jediného, kto by mi proti nim pomáhal, okrem Michala, vášho kniežaťa.
