1 (UKJV) And the word of the LORD came unto me, saying,
1 (HEM) ויהי דבר יהוה אלי לאמר׃
2 (UKJV) Son of man, set your face against Gog, the land of Magog, the chief prince of Meshech and Tubal, and prophesy against him,
2 (HEM) בן אדם שים פניך אל גוג ארץ המגוג נשיא ראש משך ותבל והנבא עליו׃
3 (UKJV) "And say, Thus says the Lord GOD; Behold, I am against you, O Gog, the chief prince of Meshech and Tubal: "
3 (HEM) ואמרת כה אמר אדני יהוה הנני אליך גוג נשיא ראש משך ותבל׃
4 (UKJV) And I will turn you back, and put hooks into your jaws, and I will bring you forth, and all of your army, horses and horsemen, all of them clothed with all sorts of armour, even a great company with bucklers and shields, all of them handling swords:
4 (HEM) ושובבתיך ונתתי חחים בלחייך והוצאתי אותך ואת כל חילך סוסים ופרשים לבשי מכלול כלם קהל רב צנה ומגן תפשי חרבות כלם׃
5 (UKJV) "Persia, Ethiopia, and Libya with them; all of them with shield and helmet: "
5 (HEM) פרס כוש ופוט אתם כלם מגן וכובע׃
6 (UKJV) "Gomer, and all his bands; the house of Togarmah of the north quarters, and all his bands: and many people with you. "
6 (HEM) גמר וכל אגפיה בית תוגרמה ירכתי צפון ואת כל אגפיו עמים רבים אתך׃
7 (UKJV) Be you prepared, and prepare for yourself, you, and all your company that are assembled unto you, and be you a guard unto them.
7 (HEM) הכן והכן לך אתה וכל קהלך הנקהלים עליך והיית להם למשמר׃
8 (UKJV) After many days you shall be visited: in the latter years you shall come into the land that is brought back from the sword, and is gathered out of many people, against the mountains of Israel, which have been always waste: but it is brought forth out of the nations, and they shall dwell safely all of them.
8 (HEM) מימים רבים תפקד באחרית השנים תבוא אל ארץ משובבת מחרב מקבצת מעמים רבים על הרי ישראל אשר היו לחרבה תמיד והיא מעמים הוצאה וישבו לבטח כלם׃
9 (UKJV) You shall ascend and come like a storm, you shall be like a cloud to cover the land, you, and all your bands, and many people with you.
9 (HEM) ועלית כשאה תבוא כענן לכסות הארץ תהיה אתה וכל אגפיך ועמים רבים אותך׃
10 (UKJV) "Thus says the Lord GOD; It shall also come to pass, that at the same time shall things come into your mind, and you shall think an evil thought: "
10 (HEM) כה אמר אדני יהוה והיה ביום ההוא יעלו דברים על לבבך וחשבת מחשבת רעה׃
11 (UKJV) "And you shall say, I will go up to the land of villages without protective walls; I will go to them that are at rest, that dwell safely, all of them dwelling without walls, and having neither bars nor gates, "
11 (HEM) ואמרת אעלה על ארץ פרזות אבוא השקטים ישבי לבטח כלם ישבים באין חומה ובריח ודלתים אין להם׃
12 (UKJV) "To take a spoil, and to take a prey; to turn your hand upon the desolate places that are now inhabited, and upon the people that are gathered out of the nations, which have got cattle and goods, that dwell in the midst of the land. "
12 (HEM) לשלל שלל ולבז בז להשיב ידך על חרבות נושבת ואל עם מאסף מגוים עשה מקנה וקנין ישבי על טבור הארץ׃
13 (UKJV) Sheba, and Dedan, and the merchants of Tarshish, with all the young lions thereof, shall say unto you, Are you come to take a spoil? have you gathered your company to take a prey? to carry away silver and gold, to take away cattle and goods, to take a great spoil?
13 (HEM) שבא ודדן וסחרי תרשיש וכל כפריה יאמרו לך הלשלל שלל אתה בא הלבז בז הקהלת קהלך לשאת כסף וזהב לקחת מקנה וקנין לשלל שלל גדול׃
14 (UKJV) "Therefore, son of man, prophesy and say unto Gog, Thus says the Lord GOD; In that day when my people of Israel dwells safely, shall you not know it? "
14 (HEM) לכן הנבא בן אדם ואמרת לגוג כה אמר אדני יהוה הלוא ביום ההוא בשבת עמי ישראל לבטח תדע׃
15 (UKJV) And you shall come from your place out of the north parts, you, and many people with you, all of them riding upon horses, a great company, and a mighty army:
15 (HEM) ובאת ממקומך מירכתי צפון אתה ועמים רבים אתך רכבי סוסים כלם קהל גדול וחיל רב׃
16 (UKJV) "And you shall come up against my people of Israel, as a cloud to cover the land; it shall be in the latter days, and I will bring you against my land, that the heathen may know me, when I shall be sanctified in you, O Gog, before their eyes. "
16 (HEM) ועלית על עמי ישראל כענן לכסות הארץ באחרית הימים תהיה והבאותיך על ארצי למען דעת הגוים אתי בהקדשי בך לעיניהם גוג׃
17 (UKJV) "Thus says the Lord GOD; Are you he of whom I have spoken in old time by my servants the prophets of Israel, which prophesied in those days many years that I would bring you against them? "
17 (HEM) כה אמר אדני יהוה האתה הוא אשר דברתי בימים קדמונים ביד עבדי נביאי ישראל הנבאים בימים ההם שנים להביא אתך עליהם׃
18 (UKJV) And it shall come to pass at the same time when Gog shall come against the land of Israel, says the Lord GOD, that my fury shall come up in my face.
18 (HEM) והיה ביום ההוא ביום בוא גוג על אדמת ישראל נאם אדני יהוה תעלה חמתי באפי׃
19 (UKJV) "For in my jealousy and in the fire of my wrath have I spoken, Surely in that day there shall be a great shaking in the land of Israel; "
19 (HEM) ובקנאתי באש עברתי דברתי אם לא ביום ההוא יהיה רעש גדול על אדמת ישראל׃
20 (UKJV) So that the fishes of the sea, and the fowls of the heaven, and the beasts of the field, and all creeping things that creep upon the earth, and all the men that are upon the face of the earth, shall shake at my presence, and the mountains shall be thrown down, and the steep places shall fall, and every wall shall fall to the ground.
20 (HEM) ורעשו מפני דגי הים ועוף השמים וחית השדה וכל הרמש הרמש על האדמה וכל האדם אשר על פני האדמה ונהרסו ההרים ונפלו המדרגות וכל חומה לארץ תפול׃
21 (UKJV) And I will call for a sword against him throughout all my mountains, says the Lord GOD: every man's sword shall be against his brother.
21 (HEM) וקראתי עליו לכל הרי חרב נאם אדני יהוה חרב איש באחיו תהיה׃
22 (UKJV) "And I will plead against him with pestilence and with blood; and I will rain upon him, and upon his bands, and upon the many people that are with him, an overflowing rain, and great hailstones, fire, and brimstone. "
22 (HEM) ונשפטתי אתו בדבר ובדם וגשם שוטף ואבני אלגביש אש וגפרית אמטיר עליו ועל אגפיו ועל עמים רבים אשר אתו׃
23 (UKJV) "Thus will I magnify myself, and sanctify myself; and I will be known in the eyes of many nations, and they shall know that I am the LORD. "
23 (HEM) והתגדלתי והתקדשתי ונודעתי לעיני גוים רבים וידעו כי אני יהוה׃

Verš 9
You shall ascend and come like a storm, you shall be like a cloud to cover the land, you, and all your bands, and many people with you.
Ez 30:18 - At Tehaphnehes also the day shall be darkened, when I shall break there the yokes of Egypt: and the pomp of her strength shall cease in her: as for her, a cloud shall cover her, and her daughters shall go into captivity.

Son of man, set your face against Gog, the land of Magog, the chief prince of Meshech and Tubal, and prophesy against him,
Zjv 20:8 - And shall go out to deceive the nations which are in the four quarters of the earth, Gog, and Magog, to gather them together to battle: the number of whom is as the sand of the sea.

"For in my jealousy and in the fire of my wrath have I spoken, Surely in that day there shall be a great shaking in the land of Israel; "
Ez 36:5 - "Therefore thus says the Lord GOD; Surely in the fire of my jealousy have I spoken against the residue of the heathen, and against all Idumea, which have appointed my land into their possession with the joy of all their heart, with despiteful minds, to cast it out for a prey. "

And I will turn you back, and put hooks into your jaws, and I will bring you forth, and all of your army, horses and horsemen, all of them clothed with all sorts of armour, even a great company with bucklers and shields, all of them handling swords:
Ez 29:4 - But I will put hooks in your jaws, and I will cause the fish of your rivers to stick unto your scales, and I will bring you up out of the midst of your rivers, and all the fish of your rivers shall stick unto your scales.
Ez 39:2 - And I will turn you back, and leave but the sixth part of you, and will cause you to come up from the north parts, and will bring you upon the mountains of Israel:
Ez 38,1 - V hl. 38 – 39,22 prorok nehovorí už o vyslobodení zo zajatia ani o Mesiášových časoch, ale o posledných časoch, o konci sveta. Vtedy vystúpi proti Božiemu národu od všetkých doterajších mocnejší nepriateľ, ktorému prorok dáva meno Gog. Toto meno má nepriateľ Boha aj v Zjv 20,8.
Ez 38,2 - Meno Gog pripomína meno kráľa Lýdov Gygesa (na klinopisných pamiatkach sa volá Gugu). Gog v reči sumerskej znamená "tmu"; Gog zosobňuje teda tmu; preto prichádza aj z krajiny tmy, zo severu. Magog znamená: "zem Gogova". Mosoch a Tubal pozri pozn. k 27,13. Tieto mená však prorok si len prepožičiava na označenie nepriateľského národa posledných čias.
Ez 38,4 - Boh vyvedie Goga, lebo dopustí, aby zaútočil na jeho ľud, ktorému takto chce dopomôcť ku konečnému víťazstvu.
Ez 38,5 - O Púte pozri pozn. k Iz 66,18.
Ez 38,6 - Gomer sú Kimerčania (Kimmer na klinopisných pamiatkach Gimirraia). Objavujú sa najprv na asýrskom území. Vyvrátili ríšu Urarru, porazili kráľa Frýgov Midasa a kráľa Lýdov Gygesa a vyvrátili ich ríše. – O Tagormovi pozri 27,14.
Ez 38,12 - "Prostriedkom zeme" označuje sa dôstojnosť miesta, ktoré zaujíma Božie kráľovstvo.
Ez 38,13 - O Sábe pozri 1 Kr 10,1; o Dedane Iz 21,13–17; o Taršiši Iz 2,16. – Levmi sa často označujú králi a kniežatá (porov. 19,2; 32,2). Tu rozumej bohatých a vplyvných kupcov.
Ez 38,14 - Výraz "nezdvihneš sa" rozumej k útoku, prekladáme podľa LXX. Dnešná hebr. osnova a Vulg číta: "budeš vedieť", čo nedáva zmysel.
Ez 38,16 - Pozri pozn. k veršu 4.
Ez 38,17 - Ezechiel tu myslí na rozličné proroctvá svojich predchodcov, v ktorých sa predpovedá pád nepriateľov Božieho kráľovstva. Pozri Joel 3,11; Iz 24,1 n.; 25,10; 26,21; 34,2; Oz 2,18; 12,14; Mich 4,13; Hab 3,9; Sof 1,14.
