Kniha proroka Ezechiela

1 (KAT) V jedenástom roku, prvý deň tretieho mesiaca, prehovoril Pán ku mne takto:
1 (VUL) Et factum est in anno unde cimo, in tertio, una mensis, factum est verbum Domini ad me dicens:
1 (UKJV) And it came to pass in the eleventh year, in the third month, in the first day of the month, that the word of the LORD came unto me, saying,

2 (KAT) „Syn človeka, povedz faraónovi, kráľovi Egypta, a jeho zástupu: »Komu sa podobáš svojou veľkosťou?«
2 (VUL) “ Fili hominis, dic pharaoni, regi Aegypti, et pompae eius: Cui similis factus es in magnitudine tua?
2 (UKJV) "Son of man, speak unto Pharaoh king of Egypt, and to his multitude; Whom are you like in your greatness? "

3 (KAT) Pozri, cédrom na Libanone je krásnovetvým, korunu má tienistú, vzrast má vysoký, vrcholec mu čneje z húšťavy.
3 (VUL) Ecce abies, quasi cedrus in Libano, pulcher ramis et frondibus nemorosus excelsusque altitudine, et inter nubes elevatum est cacumen eius;

4 (KAT) Od vôd vzrastá, výšku mu dala priepasť, ktorá mu pôdu obkľúčila prúdmi a svoje toky vyliala na všetky stromy poľa.
4 (VUL) aquae nutrierunt illum, abyssus exaltavit eum, flumina eius manabant in circuitu radicum eius, et rivos suos emisit ad universa ligna campi.
4 (UKJV) The waters made him great, the deep set him up on high with her rivers running round about his plants, and sent her little rivers unto all the trees of the field.

5 (KAT) Preto vzrastom prevýšil všetky stromy na poli, vetvy sa mu rozrástli, konáre sa roztiahli od hojnej vody.
5 (VUL) Propterea elevata est altitudo eius super omnia ligna campi, et multiplicata sunt arbusta eius, et elevati sunt rami eius propter aquas multas.
5 (UKJV) Therefore his height was exalted above all the trees of the field, and his boughs were multiplied, and his branches became long because of the multitude of waters, when he shot forth.

6 (KAT) Na konároch, keď ich roztiahol, hniezdili všetky vtáky neba, pod jeho vetvami rodili všetky poľné zvieratá, v jeho tôni bývali rôzne početné kmene.
6 (VUL) Cumque extendisset umbram suam, in ramis eius fecerunt nidos omnia volatilia caeli, et sub frondibus eius genuerunt omnes bestiae campi, et sub umbra illius habitabat universa multitudo gentium;
6 (UKJV) All the fowls of heaven made their nests in his boughs, and under his branches did all the beasts of the field bring forth their young, and under his shadow dwelt all great nations.

7 (KAT) Prekrásny bol svojou veľkosťou, ratolesti keď si roztiahol, veď mal korene v hojnej vode.
7 (VUL) eratque pulcherrimus in magnitudine sua et in dilatatione arbustorum suorum, erat enim radix illius iuxta aquas multas.
7 (UKJV) Thus was he fair in his greatness, in the length of his branches: for his root was by great waters.

8 (KAT) Cédre v Božej záhrade sa mu nevyrovnali, cyprusy sa nepodobali jeho konárom, platan nemal vetvy ako on, nijaký strom v Božej záhrade mu nebol krásou podobný.
8 (VUL) Cedri non fuerunt pares illi in paradiso Dei; abietes non adaequaverunt ramos eius, et platani non fuerunt aequae frondibus illius; omne lignum paradisi Dei non est assimilatum illi et pulchritudini eius,
8 (UKJV) "The cedars in the garden of God could not hide him: the fir trees were not like his boughs, and the chestnut trees were not like his branches; nor any tree in the garden of God was like unto him in his beauty. "

9 (KAT) Krásnym som ho urobil, bohatým na konáre, že mu závideli všetky stromy Edenu, čo sú v Božej záhrade.

10 (KAT) Preto takto hovorí Pán, Jahve: Pretože je na vzrast vysoký, svojím vrcholcom sa vzpína až medzi oblaky a pre výšku sa mu vzdúva srdce:
10 (VUL) Propterea haec dicit Dominus Deus: Pro eo quod sublimatus est in altitudine et dedit summitatem suam usque in nubes, et elevatum est cor eius in altitudine sua,
10 (UKJV) "Therefore thus says the Lord GOD; Because you have lifted up yourself in height, and he has shot up his top among the thick boughs, and his heart is lifted up in his height; "

11 (KAT) dal som ho do ruky mocnému národu, nech s ním nakladá; pre jeho zločin som ho odohnal.
11 (VUL) tradam eum in manu potentis principis gentium; faciens faciet ei: iuxta impietatem eius eieci eum.

12 (KAT) Vyťali ho cudzinci, najsilnejšie národy, a pohodili ho. Na vrchy a do všetkých dolín padali jeho konáre, dolámali sa mu vetvy do všetkých riečíšť zeme, z jeho tieňa odišli všetky národy, odvrhnú ho.
12 (VUL) Et succident illum alieni, violentissimi nationum; et proicient eum super montes, et in cunctis convallibus corruent rami eius, et confringentur arbusta eius in universis voraginibus terrae, et recedent de umbra eius omnes populi terrae et relinquent eum.
12 (UKJV) "And strangers, the terrible of the nations, have cut him off, and have left him: upon the mountains and in all the valleys his branches are fallen, and his boughs are broken by all the rivers of the land; and all the people of the earth are gone down from his shadow, and have left him. "

13 (KAT) Na jeho vývrate bývali všetky vtáky neba a na jeho vetvách boli všetky zvieratá poľa,
13 (VUL) Super ruinam eius habitabunt omnia volatilia caeli, et in ramis eius erunt universae bestiae campi,
13 (UKJV) Upon his ruin shall all the fowls of the heaven remain, and all the beasts of the field shall be upon his branches:

14 (KAT) aby sa nijaký strom pri vode nevyvyšoval pre svoj vzrast a aby sa svojím vrcholcom nevypínal medzi oblaky. Pre svoju výšku nech sa nespolieha na seba nič, čo pije vodu, pretože všetci budú vydaní na smrť, do podzemia, medzi ľudských synov, k tým, čo zostupujú do jamy.
14 (VUL) ne eleventur in altitudine sua omnia ligna aquarum neque ponant sublimitatem suam inter nubes nec stent apud eas in sublimitate sua omnia, quae irrigantur aquis, quia omnes traditi sunt in mortem ad inferiora terrae, in medio filiorum hominum, ad eos, qui descendunt in lacum.
14 (UKJV) To the end that none of all the trees by the waters exalt themselves for their height, neither shoot up their top among the thick boughs, neither their trees stand up in their height, all that drink water: for they are all delivered unto death, to the nether parts of the earth, in the midst of the children of men, with them that go down to the pit.

15 (KAT) Toto hovorí Pán, Jahve: V deň, keď do podsvetia zostúpil, smútok som nariadil, more som do neho zahalil a jeho toky som zahatil, že množstvo vody tiecť prestalo. Libanon som odial do čierna a stromy na poli vyschli preň.
15 (VUL) Haec dicit Dominus Deus: In die, quando descendit ad inferos, induxi luctum, operui propter eum abyssum et prohibui flumina eius et coercui aquas multas; obscuravi super eum Libanum, et omnia ligna agri concussa sunt.
15 (UKJV) "Thus says the Lord GOD; In the day when he went down to the grave I caused a mourning: I covered the deep for him, and I restrained the floods thereof, and the great waters were stayed: and I caused Lebanon to mourn for him, and all the trees of the field fainted for him. "

18 (KAT) Tak, komuže si sa podobal vznešenosťou a veľkosťou medzi stromami Edenu? Zrútil si sa so stromami Edenu do podsvetia. Medzi neobrezancami ležíš s tými, čo ich prebodol meč. To je faraón a celý jeho zástup,“ hovorí Pán, Jahve.

18 (UKJV) To whom are you thus like in glory and in greatness among the trees of Eden? yet shall you be brought down with the trees of Eden unto the nether parts of the earth: you shall lie in the midst of the uncircumcised with them that be slain by the sword. This is Pharaoh and all his multitude, says the Lord GOD.
