Ez 21, 1-32

1 (CPDV) And the word of the Lord came to me, saying:
1 (ROH) A stalo sa slovo Hospodinovo ku mne povediac:

2 (CPDV) “Son of man, set your face toward Jerusalem, and pour in drops toward the sanctuaries, and prophesy against the soil of Israel.
2 (ROH) Synu človeka, obráť svoju tvár proti Jeruzalemu a kvapkaj slovo proti svätyniam a prorokuj proti zemi Izraelovej

3 (CPDV) And you shall say to the land of Israel: Thus says the Lord God: Behold, I am against you, and I will cast my sword from its sheath, and I will slay the just and the impious among you.
3 (ROH) a povieš zemi Izraelovej: Takto hovorí Hospodin: Hľa, ja som proti tebe a vytiahnem svoj meč z jeho pošvy a vyplienim z teba spravedlivého i bezbožného.

4 (CPDV) But in as much as I have slain among you the just and the impious, for this reason my sword will go forth from its sheath against all flesh, from the south even to the north.

5 (CPDV) So may all flesh know that I, the Lord, have led my sword out of its sheath irrevocably.

6 (CPDV) And as for you, son of man, groan in the breaking of your back, and groan in bitterness before them.
6 (ROH) A ty, synu človeka, vzdychaj, ako keby si mal dolámané bedrá, a v horkosti, vzdychať budeš pred ich očami.

7 (CPDV) And when they will say to you, ‘Why are you groaning?’ you shall say: ‘On behalf of the report, For it is approaching. And every heart will waste away, and every hand will be broken, and every spirit will be weakened, and water will flow across every knee.’ Behold, it is approaching and it will happen, says the Lord God.”

8 (CPDV) And the word of the Lord came to me, saying:
8 (ROH) A stalo sa slovo Hospodinovo ku mne povediac:

9 (CPDV) “Son of man, prophesy, and you shall say: Thus says the Lord God: Speak: The sword! The sword has been sharpened and polished!
9 (ROH) Synu človeka, prorokuj a povieš: Takto hovorí Pán: Povedz: Meč, meč je nabrúsený i vyhladený.

10 (CPDV) It has been sharpened, so that it may cut down victims! It has been polished, so that it may shine! You are disturbing the scepter of my son. You have cut down every tree.

11 (CPDV) And I have sent it to be made smooth, so that it may be handled. This sword has been sharpened, and it has been polished, so that it may be in the hand of the one who kills.
11 (ROH) A dali ho vyhladiť, aby sa mohol vziať do ruky; je to nabrúsený meč a je vyhladený dať ho do ruky zabijaka.

12 (CPDV) Cry out and wail, O son of man! For this has been done among my people, this is among all the leaders of Israel, who have fled. They have been handed over to the sword, with my people. Therefore, slap your thigh,
12 (ROH) Krič a kvíľ, synu človeka, lebo ten meč bude proti môjmu ľudu, ten proti všetkým kniežatám Izraelovým; budú vydaní meču i s mojím ľudom, preto sa udieraj na bedrá.

13 (CPDV) for it has been tested. And this one, when he will have overthrown the scepter, will not be, says the Lord God.
13 (ROH) Lebo zkúška je spravená, a čo, ak nebude ani pohŕdajúceho prúta? hovorí Pán Hospodin.

14 (CPDV) You therefore, O son of man, prophesy, and strike hand against hand, and let the sword be doubled, and let the sword of the slain be tripled. This is the sword of the great slaughter, which causes them to be utterly stupefied,

15 (CPDV) and to waste away in heart, and which multiplies ruin. At all their gates, I have presented the consternation of the sword, which has been sharpened and polished so as to shine, which has been dressed for the slaughter.
15 (ROH) aby sa rozplynulo srdce. A bude mnoho závad padnúť, pri všetkých ich bránach, kde dám rúbať mečom. Ach, učinený je podobný blesku, naostrený je zabiť!

16 (CPDV) Be sharpened! Go to the right or to the left, whichever way is the desire of your face.
16 (ROH) Zober sa, iď napravo, pusti sa naľavo, kamkoľvek sa obráti tvoje ostrie.

17 (CPDV) And then I will clap hand against hand, and I will fulfill my indignation. I, the Lord, have spoken.”
17 (ROH) A ja tiež budem tlieskať svojimi rukami a ukojím svoju prchlivosť. Ja Hospodin som hovoril.

18 (CPDV) And the word of the Lord came to me, saying:
18 (ROH) A stalo sa slovo Hospodinovo ku mne povediac:

19 (CPDV) “And as for you, son of man, set for yourself two ways, so that the sword of the king of Babylon may approach. Both shall go forth from one land. And with a hand, he will grasp and cast lots; he will cast at the head of the way of the community.
19 (ROH) A ty, synu človeka, sprav si dve cesty, ktorými by mal prijsť meč babylonského kráľa. Z jednej zeme nech vychádzajú obidve, a stvor ukazujúcu ruku, na rozcestí mesta ju stvor.

20 (CPDV) You shall appoint a way, so that the sword may approach to Rabbah of the sons of Ammon, or to Judah, into Jerusalem, greatly fortified.
20 (ROH) Sprav cestu, ktorou by mal prijsť meč do Rabby synov Ammonových i do Judska na opevnený Jeruzalem.

21 (CPDV) For the king of Babylon stood at the fork, at the head of the two ways, seeking divination, shuffling arrows; he inquired of idols, and he consulted entrails.
21 (ROH) Lebo babylonský kráľ zastane na počiatku cesty, na rozcestí oboch ciest, aby veštil, bude triasť strelami, dopytovať sa bude domácich bohov, bude hľadieť do jatier.

22 (CPDV) To his right was set the divination over Jerusalem, to place battering rams so as to open a mouth for the slaughter, to lift up the voice of wailing, to place battering rams opposite the gates, to cast up a rampart, to build fortifications.
22 (ROH) V jeho pravej ruke bude veštba na Jeruzalem, aby pristavil dobývacích baranov, aby otvoril ústa dať povel vraždiť, aby pozdvihol hlas vyvolať krik boja, aby pristavil dobývacích baranov proti bránam, aby nasypal val, aby vystavil hradby.

23 (CPDV) And he shall be, in their eyes, like someone consulting an oracle in vain, or imitating the leisure of Sabbaths. But he will call to mind iniquities, so that it will be captured.

24 (CPDV) Therefore, thus says the Lord God: Because you have been remembered in your iniquities, and you have revealed your betrayals, and your sins have appeared within all your plans, because, I say, you have been remembered, you will be captured by a hand.

25 (CPDV) But as for you, O impious leader of Israel, whose day has arrived that was predetermined at the time of iniquity:
25 (ROH) A ty, smrteľne ranený bezbožníku, knieža Izraelov, ktorého deň prijde v čas vrcholnej neprávosti, ktorou už bude koniec,

26 (CPDV) Thus says the Lord God: Take away the diadem, remove the crown. Is this not what has exalted the lowly one, and brought low the sublime one?
26 (ROH) takto hovorí Pán Hospodin: Preč dať kráľovskú čapicu a složiť korunu! Toto nie je to. Povýšiť nízkeho a ponížiť vysokého!

27 (CPDV) Iniquity, iniquity, iniquity I will make it. And this was not done until the one arrived to whom judgment belongs, and I will hand it over to him.
27 (ROH) Rozvrátim, rozvrátim, rozvrátim to; ani toho nebude, dokiaľ neprijde ten, ktorému patrí právo a súd, a dám to jemu.

28 (CPDV) And as for you, son of man, prophesy, and say: Thus says the Lord God to the sons of Ammon, and to their disgrace, and you shall say: O sword, O sword, unsheathe yourself so as to slay; polish yourself so as to kill and to shine,
28 (ROH) A ty, synu človeka, prorokuj a povieš: Takto hovorí Pán Hospodin o synoch Ammonových a o ich potupe, ktorou potupujú, a povieš: Meč, vytasený meč zabíjať, vyhladený, aby žral, aby sa lesknul ako blesk,

29 (CPDV) while they look upon you in vain, and they divine lies, so that you may be given over to the necks of the wounded impious, whose day has arrived that was predetermined at the time of iniquity.
29 (ROH) kým ti vidia márnosť, kým ti veštia lož, aby ťa dali k hrdlám pobitých bezbožníkov, ktorých deň prijde v čas neprávosti, ktorou už bude koniec.

30 (CPDV) Be returned to your sheath! I will judge you in the place where you were created, in the land of your nativity.
30 (ROH) Či azda schovať meč do jeho pošvy?

31 (CPDV) And I will pour out upon you my indignation. In the fire of my fury, I will fan you, and I will give you over to the hands of cruel men, who have devised destruction.
31 (ROH) A vylejem na teba svoj zúrivý hnev, ohňom svojej prchlivosti budem duť na teba a vydám ťa do ruky nesmyselných mužov hovädných, takých, ktorí kujú zkazu.

32 (CPDV) You will be food for the fire; your blood will be in the midst of the land; you will be delivered to oblivion. For I, the Lord, have spoken.”
32 (ROH) Ohňu budeš za potravu; tvoja krv bude prostred tvojej zeme; neprijdeš na pamäť, lebo ja Hospodin som hovoril.

Ez 21, 1-32

Verš 15
and to waste away in heart, and which multiplies ruin. At all their gates, I have presented the consternation of the sword, which has been sharpened and polished so as to shine, which has been dressed for the slaughter.
Ez 21:28 - And as for you, son of man, prophesy, and say: Thus says the Lord God to the sons of Ammon, and to their disgrace, and you shall say: O sword, O sword, unsheathe yourself so as to slay; polish yourself so as to kill and to shine,

Verš 12
Cry out and wail, O son of man! For this has been done among my people, this is among all the leaders of Israel, who have fled. They have been handed over to the sword, with my people. Therefore, slap your thigh,
Ez 7:27 - The king will mourn, and the prince will be clothed with grief, and the hands of the people of the earth will be greatly disturbed. I will act toward them in accord with their own way, and I will judge them in accord with their own judgments. And they shall know that I am the Lord.”
Ez 6:11 - Thus says the Lord God: “Strike with your hand, and stomp with your foot, and say: ‘Alas, to all the abominations of the evils of the house of Israel!’ For they will fall by the sword, by famine, and by pestilence.

Verš 13
for it has been tested. And this one, when he will have overthrown the scepter, will not be, says the Lord God.
Iz 1:5 - For what reason shall I continue to strike you, as you increase transgressions? The entire head is feeble, and the entire heart is grieving.
Jer 6:28 - All these leaders who are turning away and walking deceitfully, they are brass and iron; they have all been corrupted.

Verš 22
To his right was set the divination over Jerusalem, to place battering rams so as to open a mouth for the slaughter, to lift up the voice of wailing, to place battering rams opposite the gates, to cast up a rampart, to build fortifications.
Ez 4:2 - And you shall set up a blockade against it, and you shall build fortifications, and you shall put together a rampart, and you shall encamp opposite it, and you shall place battering rams around it.
Ez 17:17 - And not with a great army, nor with many people will Pharaoh undertake a battle against him, when he will cast up ramparts and build defenses, in order to put to death many souls.

Verš 7
And when they will say to you, ‘Why are you groaning?’ you shall say: ‘On behalf of the report, For it is approaching. And every heart will waste away, and every hand will be broken, and every spirit will be weakened, and water will flow across every knee.’ Behold, it is approaching and it will happen, says the Lord God.”
Jer 49:23 - Against Damascus. “Hamath has been confounded, with Arpad. For they have heard a most grievous report. They have been stirred up like the sea. Because of anxiousness, they were not able to rest.
Jer 6:24 - ‘We have heard of their fame. Our hands have become weakened. Tribulation has overtaken us, like the pains of a woman giving birth.’
Ez 7:17 - All hands will be weakened, and all knees will flow with water.
Ez 4:17 - So then, when bread and water fail, each one may fall against his brother. And they shall waste away in their iniquities.”
Ez 7:17 - All hands will be weakened, and all knees will flow with water.

Ez 21,1-5 - Tieto verše sú vo Vulg ešte 20,45–49. V číslovaní veršov je teda v hl. 21 rozdiel medzi hebrejskou osnovou a Vulg; 21,6–37 hebr. = 21,1–32 Vulg.

Ez 21,3-5 - Lesný požiar zvýrazňuje spustošenie Júdska a Jeruzalema; porov. Iz 9,17; 10,17 n. Jer 21,14.

Veštili mu až trojakým spôsobom: do osudia dali najprv dva šípy, jeden s menom Jeruzalema, druhý s menom Raby. Osudie so šípmi potriasli a jeden z nich vytiahli. Vytiahli šíp s menom Jeruzalema (verš 27). Potom sa vypytujú domácich bôžikov, zvaných teráfim, ktorých menšie sošky nosievali so sebou.

Nech sa utiahnu do svojich miest; no ani tam nebudú v bezpečí, i tam ich dostihne Boží súd.
