Kniha proroka Ezechiela

1 (KAT) Pán prehovoril ku mne takto:
1 (VUL) Et factus est sermo Domini ad me dicens:
1 (UKJV) And the word of the LORD came unto me, saying,

2 (KAT) „Syn človeka, akú prednosť má drevo viniča medzi všetkými stromami, vetvička, ktorá je medzi stromami lesa?
2 (VUL) “ Fili hominis, quid habet lignum vitis prae omnibus lignis sarmentorum, quae sunt inter ligna silvarum?
2 (UKJV) Son of man, what is the vine tree more than any tree, or than a branch which is among the trees of the forest?

3 (KAT) Či vezmú z neho drevo, aby ho spracovali na náradie? Či vezmú z neho klin, aby naň navešali rozličné nádoby?
3 (VUL) Numquid tolletur de ea lignum, ut fiat opus, aut fabricabitur de ea paxillus, ut dependeat in eo quodcumque vas?
3 (UKJV) Shall wood be taken thereof to do any work? or will men take a pin of it to hang any vessel thereon?

4 (KAT) Veru ho dajú ohňu za pokrm; jeho dva konce strávil oheň a prostriedok mu je popálený; či je súci na zužitkovanie?
4 (VUL) Ecce igni datum est in escam, utramque partem eius consumpsit ignis, et medietas eius adusta est; numquid utile erit ad opus?
4 (UKJV) "Behold, it is cast into the fire for fuel; the fire devours both the ends of it, and the midst of it is burned. Is it meet for any work? "

5 (KAT) Veď ho nezužitkovali, ani keď bolo neporušené, o koľko menej ho môžu zužitkovať, keď ho strávil oheň a je popálené?
5 (VUL) Etiam cum esset integrum, non erat aptum ad opus; quanto magis cum ignis illud devoraverit et combusserit, nihil ex eo fiet operis.
5 (UKJV) Behold, when it was whole, it was meet for no work: how much less shall it be meet yet for any work, when the fire has devoured it, and it is burned?

6 (KAT) Nuž toto hovorí Pán zástupov: Čo som medzi stromami lesa urobil drevu viniča, že som ho dal ohňu za pokrm, to som urobil obyvateľom Jeruzalema.
6 (VUL) Propterea haec dicit Dominus Deus: Quomodo lignum vitis inter ligna silvarum, quod dedi igni ad devorandum, sic tradam habitatores Ierusalem.
6 (UKJV) "Therefore thus says the Lord GOD; As the vine tree among the trees of the forest, which I have given to the fire for fuel, so will I give the inhabitants of Jerusalem. "

7 (KAT) Namieril som proti nim svoju tvár; z ohňa vyšli a oheň ich strávil. I budete vedieť, že ja som Pán, až obrátim proti nim svoju tvár.
7 (VUL) Et ponam faciem meam in eos: de igne egressi sunt, et ignis consumet eos. Et scietis quia ego Dominus, cum posuero faciem meam in eos
7 (UKJV) "And I will set my face against them; they shall go out from one fire, and another fire shall devour them; and all of you shall know that I am the LORD, when I set my face against them. "

8 (KAT) A z krajiny urobím púšť, pretože sa spreneverili,“ hovorí Pán, Jahve.
8 (VUL) et dedero terram inviam et desolatam, eo quod praevaricatores exstiterint ”, dicit Dominus Deus.
8 (UKJV) And I will make the land desolate, because they have committed a trespass, says the Lord GOD.
