Nár 5, 1-22

1 (KAT) Spomeň si, Pane, čo sa s nami stalo, zhliadni a pozri na našu hanbu.
1 (VUL) Recordare, Domine, quid acci derit nobis; intuere et respice opprobrium nostrum.
1 (UKJV) Remember, O LORD, what has come upon us: consider, and behold our reproach.

2 (KAT) Dedičstvo naše prešlo k cudzím, naše domy k nenašským.
2 (VUL) Hereditas nostra versa est ad alienos, domus nostrae ad extraneos.
2 (UKJV) Our inheritance is turned to strangers, our houses to aliens.

3 (KAT) Nemáme otca, sme siroty, naše matky sú vdovy.
3 (VUL) Pupilli facti sumus absque patre, matres nostrae quasi viduae.

6 (UKJV) We have given the hand to the Egyptians, and to the Assyrians, to be satisfied with bread.

7 (KAT) Naši otcovia zhrešili a niet ich, my vlečieme ich vinu.

15 (KAT) Prestala radosť nášho srdca, tanec sa zmenil na žiaľ.

15 (UKJV) "The joy of our heart is ceased; our dance is turned into mourning. "

16 (KAT) Koruna padla z našej hlavy, beda nám, zhrešili sme.
16 (VUL) Cecidit corona capitis nostri; vae nobis, quia peccavimus!
16 (UKJV) The crown is fallen from our head: woe unto us, that we have sinned!

17 (KAT) Preto je biedne naše srdce, preto nám stemneli oči.

20 (KAT) Prečože na nás zabúdaš naveky, na dlhé časy nás opúšťaš?

22 (KAT) A či si nás celkom zavrhol, tak veľmi sa na nás hneváš?

Nar 5,1 - Nadpis: "Modlitba proroka Jeremiáša" má len Vulg. Nepatrí teda k osnove.

Nar 5,6 - Asýrsko tu stojí miesto Babylonu. Babylonská ríša zdedila moc a územie po Asýrskej.

Nar 5,7 - Národné nešťastie je trest aj za hriechy predošlých pokolení.

Nar 5,8 - Otroci boli poddaní babylonského kráľa.

Nar 5,9 - Žatvu mohli zobrať len s nebezpečenstvom života.

Nar 5,13 - Hrdým židovským mladíkom dať do ruky mlynček bola veľká potupa; pozri pozn. k Iz 47,2.

Nar 5,16 - Koruna je symbol slávy.

Nar 5,21 - Rozumej: Vráť nám staré dobré časy!
