1 (KJV) Remember, O LORD, what is come upon us: consider, and behold our reproach.
1 (B21) Vzpomeň si, Hospodine, jak jsme dopadli, dobře se podívej na naši hanbu:

2 (KJV) Our inheritance is turned to strangers, our houses to aliens.
2 (B21) Naše dědictví připadlo cizím, naše domy patří cizákům!

3 (KJV) We are orphans and fatherless, our mothers are as widows.
3 (B21) Jsme sirotci, přišli jsme o otce, z našich matek jsou teď vdovy.

4 (KJV) We have drunken our water for money; our wood is sold unto us.
4 (B21) Vlastní vodu pijeme za peníze, za své dříví musíme platit.

5 (KJV) Our necks are under persecution: we labour, and have no rest.
5 (B21) S pronásledovateli v zádech dřeme, zbaveni odpočinku.

6 (KJV) We have given the hand to the Egyptians, and to the Assyrians, to be satisfied with bread.
6 (B21) Třeseme si rukou s Egyptem i s Asýrií - kvůli chlebu.

7 (KJV) Our fathers have sinned, and are not; and we have borne their iniquities.
7 (B21) Naši otcové hřešili; jsou pryč a my neseme jejich trest.

8 (KJV) Servants have ruled over us: there is none that doth deliver us out of their hand.
8 (B21) Panují nad námi otroci a nikdo neuvolní jejich pěst.

9 (KJV) We gat our bread with the peril of our lives because of the sword of the wilderness.
9 (B21) Jde nám o život, když přinášíme chléb ohroženi mečem v pustém kraji.

10 (KJV) Our skin was black like an oven because of the terrible famine.
10 (B21) Kůže nám hoří jako pec horečkou z hladovění.

11 (KJV) They ravished the women in Zion, and the maids in the cities of Judah.
11 (B21) Sionské ženy byly znásilněny tak jako panny ve městech Judových.

12 (KJV) Princes are hanged up by their hand: the faces of elders were not honoured.
12 (B21) Naše velmože nám pověsili, ke starcům úctu neměli!

13 (KJV) They took the young men to grind, and the children fell under the wood.
13 (B21) Mládenci roztáčejí mlýn, chlapci klopýtají pod dřívím.

14 (KJV) The elders have ceased from the gate, the young men from their musick.
14 (B21) Starci už v branách nesedí, mládenci dozpívali.

15 (KJV) The joy of our heart is ceased; our dance is turned into mourning.
15 (B21) Utichlo naše bujaré veselí, tanec se změnil v truchlení.

16 (KJV) The crown is fallen from our head: woe unto us, that we have sinned!
16 (B21) Koruna spadla z naší hlavy; běda nám, že jsme hřešili!

17 (KJV) For this our heart is faint; for these things our eyes are dim.
17 (B21) Srdce nám nad tím usedá, potemněly nám nad tím oči -

18 (KJV) Because of the mountain of Zion, which is desolate, the foxes walk upon it.
18 (B21) že z hory Sion zbyla pustina, že se tam honí lišky!

19 (KJV) Thou, O LORD, remainest for ever; thy throne from generation to generation.
19 (B21) Ty, Hospodine, však vládneš navěky, tvůj trůn trvá po všechny časy.

20 (KJV) Wherefore dost thou forget us for ever, and forsake us so long time?
20 (B21) Proč na nás nikdy nepomyslíš? To nás opustíš navždy?

21 (KJV) Turn thou us unto thee, O LORD, and we shall be turned; renew our days as of old.
21 (B21) Navrať nás k sobě, Hospodine, ať se vrátíme! Obnov naše dny, ať jsou jako dřív!

22 (KJV) But thou hast utterly rejected us; thou art very wroth against us.
22 (B21) Anebo jsi nás už zavrhl úplně? Rozhněval ses na nás přespříliš?
