Náreky

1 (KJV) How is the gold become dim! how is the most fine gold changed! the stones of the sanctuary are poured out in the top of every street.
1 (B21) Ach, jak zašlo lesklé zlato, ryzí kov už se netřpytí! Drahé kamení rozmetáno na každém nároží!

2 (KJV) The precious sons of Zion, comparable to fine gold, how are they esteemed as earthen pitchers, the work of the hands of the potter!
2 (B21) Synové Sionu bývali kdysi nad zlato vzácnější - teď jsou však levní jako džbány, jak nádobí, co hrnčíř vyrobil!

3 (KJV) Even the sea monsters draw out the breast, they give suck to their young ones: the daughter of my people is become cruel, like the ostriches in the wilderness.
3 (B21) I šakalí matky nastavují prsy, aby své mladé krmily, můj lid je ale k svým dětem krutý tak jako pštrosi na poušti.

4 (KJV) The tongue of the sucking child cleaveth to the roof of his mouth for thirst: the young children ask bread, and no man breaketh it unto them.
4 (B21) Kojenci na patro se lepí jazyk vyprahlý; o chleba prosí malé děti, a nikdo se s nimi nedělí.

5 (KJV) They that did feed delicately are desolate in the streets: they that were brought up in scarlet embrace dunghills.
5 (B21) Ti, kdo se lahůdkami živili, teď živoří v ulicích. Ti, kdo si šarlat oblékali, se přehrabují v odpadcích.

6 (KJV) For the punishment of the iniquity of the daughter of my people is greater than the punishment of the sin of Sodom, that was overthrown as in a moment, and no hands stayed on her.
6 (B21) Trest mého lidu je ještě větší, než co zasloužila Sodoma - ta byla vyvrácena v jedinou chvíli, aniž se ruka pohnula!

7 (KJV) Her Nazarites were purer than snow, they were whiter than milk, they were more ruddy in body than rubies, their polishing was of sapphire:
7 (B21) Zasvěcení tu bývali čistější než sníh, nad mléko bělejší. Těla měli ruměná jako rubíny, jako by byli ze safíru broušeni.

8 (KJV) Their visage is blacker than a coal; they are not known in the streets: their skin cleaveth to their bones; it is withered, it is become like a stick.
8 (B21) Teď jsou však černější než saze, k nepoznání jsou v ulicích; kůže jim přischla ke kostem, jako dřevo jsou svraštělí.

9 (KJV) They that be slain with the sword are better than they that be slain with hunger: for these pine away, stricken through for want of the fruits of the field.
9 (B21) Kdo padli mečem, jsou na tom líp než ti, kdo hladem padají; ti, kdo vykrváceli na svá zranění, než ti, kdo nemají co sklidit na poli.

10 (KJV) The hands of the pitiful women have sodden their own children: they were their meat in the destruction of the daughter of my people.
10 (B21) Soucitné ruce žen vařily vlastní děti - ty byly jejich pokrmem, když byl rozdrcen můj lid.

11 (KJV) The LORD hath accomplished his fury; he hath poured out his fierce anger, and hath kindled a fire in Zion, and it hath devoured the foundations thereof.
11 (B21) Hospodin naplno projevil svůj hněv, dal průchod svému zuření. Zapálil na Sionu oheň, jenž pohltil jeho základy.

12 (KJV) The kings of the earth, and all the inhabitants of the world, would not have believed that the adversary and the enemy should have entered into the gates of Jerusalem.
12 (B21) Nevěřili by zemští králové a nikdo z vládců světa, že vejde zapřisáhlý nepřítel do bran Jeruzaléma.

13 (KJV) For the sins of her prophets, and the iniquities of her priests, that have shed the blood of the just in the midst of her,
13 (B21) To kvůli hříchům jeho proroků, kvůli vinám jeho kněží - těch, kdo prolévali v jeho středu krev nevinných!

14 (KJV) They have wandered as blind men in the streets, they have polluted themselves with blood, so that men could not touch their garments.
14 (B21) Jak slepí bloudili v ulicích zbroceni krví prolitou; nikdo se neodvážil ani dotknout jejich rouch.

15 (KJV) They cried unto them, Depart ye; it is unclean; depart, depart, touch not: when they fled away and wandered, they said among the heathen, They shall no more sojourn there.
15 (B21) "Z cesty! Nečistý!" křičeli na ně. "Z cesty, z cesty! Nedotýkejte se!" A když teď bloudí tam a sem, národy říkají: "Už je tu nechceme!"

16 (KJV) The anger of the LORD hath divided them; he will no more regard them: they respected not the persons of the priests, they favoured not the elders.
16 (B21) Hospodin sám je rozptýlil, už na ně ani nepohlédne; nikdo nebere ohled na kněží, nikdo nešetří ani starce.

17 (KJV) As for us, our eyes as yet failed for our vain help: in our watching we have watched for a nation that could not save us.
17 (B21) Oči jsme napínali, až nás bolely, marně jsme pomoc čekali. Ze svých věží jsme vyhlíželi lid, jenž nebyl s to nás zachránit.

18 (KJV) They hunt our steps, that we cannot go in our streets: our end is near, our days are fulfilled; for our end is come.
18 (B21) Sledovali naše kroky, nemohli jsme ani vyjít ven. Přišel náš konec, dny se naplnily, ano, náš konec nadešel.

19 (KJV) Our persecutors are swifter than the eagles of the heaven: they pursued us upon the mountains, they laid wait for us in the wilderness.
19 (B21) Naši pronásledovatelé byli rychlejší než orli na nebi. Po horách nás honili, číhali na nás na poušti.

20 (KJV) The breath of our nostrils, the anointed of the LORD, was taken in their pits, of whom we said, Under his shadow we shall live among the heathen.
20 (B21) Hospodinův pomazaný, náš vlastní dech, byl v jejich pasti polapen - a my jsme mysleli, že nám dá stín, v němž budeme žít mezi národy!

21 (KJV) Rejoice and be glad, O daughter of Edom, that dwellest in the land of Uz; the cup also shall pass through unto thee: thou shalt be drunken, and shalt make thyself naked.
21 (B21) Raduj se a vesel, Dcero edomská, jež bydlíš v zemi Úc. I ty se však dočkáš kalicha - opiješ se a svlékneš donaha!

22 (KJV) The punishment of thine iniquity is accomplished, O daughter of Zion; he will no more carry thee away into captivity: he will visit thine iniquity, O daughter of Edom; he will discover thy sins.
22 (B21) Tvůj trest vyprší, Dcero sionská, už nezůstaneš v zajetí. Ty, Dcero edomská, však budeš ztrestána, tvůj hřích se brzy odhalí!
