1 (HEM) אשר היה דבר יהוה אל ירמיהו הנביא אל פלשתים בטרם יכה פרעה את עזה׃
1 (UKJV) The word of the LORD that came to Jeremiah the prophet against the Philistines, before that Pharaoh stroke Gaza.
2 (HEM) כה אמר יהוה הנה מים עלים מצפון והיו לנחל שוטף וישטפו ארץ ומלואה עיר וישבי בה וזעקו האדם והילל כל יושב הארץ׃
2 (UKJV) "Thus says the LORD; Behold, waters rise up out of the north, and shall be an overflowing flood, and shall overflow the land, and all that is therein; the city, and them that dwell therein: then the men shall cry, and all the inhabitants of the land shall wail. "
3 (HEM) מקול שעטת פרסות אביריו מרעש לרכבו המון גלגליו לא הפנו אבות אל בנים מרפיון ידים׃
3 (UKJV) "At the noise of the stamping of the hoofs of his strong horses, at the rushing of his chariots, and at the rumbling of his wheels, the fathers shall not look back to their children for feebleness of hands; "
4 (HEM) על היום הבא לשדוד את כל פלשתים להכרית לצר ולצידון כל שריד עזר כי שדד יהוה את פלשתים שארית אי כפתור׃
4 (UKJV) Because of the day that comes to spoil all the Philistines, and to cut off from Tyrus and Zidon every helper that remains: for the LORD will spoil the Philistines, the remnant of the country of Caphtor.
5 (HEM) באה קרחה אל עזה נדמתה אשקלון שארית עמקם עד מתי תתגודדי׃
5 (UKJV) "Baldness has come upon Gaza; Ashkelon is cut off with the remnant of their valley: how long will you cut yourself? "
6 (HEM) הוי חרב ליהוה עד אנה לא תשקטי האספי אל תערך הרגעי ודמי׃
6 (UKJV) O you sword of the LORD, how long will it be before you be quiet? put up yourself into your scabbard, rest, and be still.
7 (HEM) איך תשקטי ויהוה צוה לה אל אשקלון ואל חוף הים שם יעדה׃
7 (UKJV) How can it be quiet, seeing the LORD has given it a charge against Ashkelon, and against the sea shore? there has he appointed it.

מקול שעטת פרסות אביריו מרעש לרכבו המון גלגליו לא הפנו אבות אל בנים מרפיון ידים׃
Jer 4:13 - הנה כעננים יעלה וכסופה מרכבותיו קלו מנשרים סוסיו אוי לנו כי שדדנו׃
Jer 6:23 - קשת וכידון יחזיקו אכזרי הוא ולא ירחמו קולם כים יהמה ועל סוסים ירכבו ערוך כאיש למלחמה עליך בת ציון׃
Iz 5:28 - אשר חציו שנונים וכל קשתתיו דרכות פרסות סוסיו כצר נחשבו וגלגליו כסופה׃

על היום הבא לשדוד את כל פלשתים להכרית לצר ולצידון כל שריד עזר כי שדד יהוה את פלשתים שארית אי כפתור׃
Jer 25:22 - ואת כל מלכי צר ואת כל מלכי צידון ואת מלכי האי אשר בעבר הים׃

באה קרחה אל עזה נדמתה אשקלון שארית עמקם עד מתי תתגודדי׃
Jer 25:20 - ואת כל הערב ואת כל מלכי ארץ העוץ ואת כל מלכי ארץ פלשתים ואת אשקלון ואת עזה ואת עקרון ואת שארית אשדוד׃
Dt 14:1 - בנים אתם ליהוה אלהיכם לא תתגדדו ולא תשימו קרחה בין עיניכם למת׃
Jer 16:6 - ומתו גדלים וקטנים בארץ הזאת לא יקברו ולא יספדו להם ולא יתגדד ולא יקרח להם׃
Jer 47,1 - Správu, že faraón v tomto čase porazil Gazu, nám história nezanechala. – O Gaze pozri pozn. k 1 Sam 6,17.
Jer 47,2 - Nepriateľom od severu sú Babylonci.
Jer 47,4 - Filištínci aj podľa Am 9,7 pochádzajú z ostrova Kaftor. Obyčajne stotožňujú tento ostrov s Krétou. Kréťania a Filištínci sa častejšie spomínajú vedľa seba (Ez 25,16; Sof 2,5).
Jer 47,5 - Plešina je znakom smútku. O Askalone pozri pozn. k 1 Sam 6,17. Slovo "Enakovci" prekladáme podľa LXX. Dnešná hebr. osnova a s ňou aj Vulg číta: "pozostatky ich údolia", čo nedáva dobrý zmysel. -Enakovci boli kmeňom obrov, praobyvateľov krajiny Filištíncov. Pochádzali od Enaka; porov. Joz 11,22. Tu však meno Enakovcov označuje ich nástupcov, Filištíncov. – O zárezoch na znak smútku pozri pozn. k 16,5-7.
Jer 47,7 - Krajina Filištíncov ležala na pobreží Stredozemného mora.
