1 (HEM) וישמע שפטיה בן מתן וגדליהו בן פשחור ויוכל בן שלמיהו ופשחור בן מלכיה את הדברים אשר ירמיהו מדבר אל כל העם לאמר׃
1 (VUL) Audivit autem Saphatias fi lius Matthan et Godolias fi lius Phassur et Iuchal filius Selemiae et Phassur filius Melchiae sermones, quos Ieremias loquebatur ad omnem populum dicens:
1 (KAT) Safatiáš, syn Mátanov, Gedeliáš, syn Pášurov, Juchal, syn Selemiášov, a Pášur, syn Melchiášov, počuli slová, ktoré Jeremiáš hovoril všetkému ľudu, a to:
1 (UKJV) Then Shephatiah the son of Mattan, and Gedaliah the son of Pashur, and Jucal the son of Shelemiah, and Pashur the son of Malchiah, heard the words that Jeremiah had spoken unto all the people, saying,

2 (HEM) כה אמר יהוה הישב בעיר הזאת ימות בחרב ברעב ובדבר והיצא אל הכשדים יחיה והיתה לו נפשו לשלל וחי׃
2 (VUL) “ Haec dicit Dominus: Quicumque manserit in civitate hac, morietur gladio et fame et peste; qui autem profugerit ad Chaldaeos, vivet, et erit anima eius quasi spolium et vivet.
2 (KAT) „Toto hovorí Pán: Kto ostane v tomto meste, zomrie pod mečom, od hladu a na mor; kto však prejde k Chaldejcom, ostane žiť, vlastný život bude jeho korisťou a bude žiť.
2 (UKJV) "Thus says the LORD, He that remains in this city shall die by the sword, by the famine, and by the pestilence: but he that goes forth to the Chaldeans shall live; for he shall have his life for a prey, and shall live. "

3 (HEM) כה אמר יהוה הנתן תנתן העיר הזאת ביד חיל מלך בבל ולכדה׃
3 (VUL) Haec dicit Dominus: Certe tradetur civitas haec in manu exercitus regis Babylonis, et capiet eam ”.
3 (KAT) Toto hovorí Pán: Určite sa toto mesto dostane do rúk vojska babylonského kráľa, ktorý si ho podmaní.“
3 (UKJV) Thus says the LORD, This city shall surely be given into the hand of the king of Babylon's army, which shall take it.

4 (HEM) ויאמרו השרים אל המלך יומת נא את האיש הזה כי על כן הוא מרפא את ידי אנשי המלחמה הנשארים בעיר הזאת ואת ידי כל העם לדבר אליהם כדברים האלה כי האיש הזה איננו דרש לשלום לעם הזה כי אם לרעה׃
4 (VUL) Et dixerunt principes regi: “ Rogamus, ut occidatur homo iste; de industria enim dissolvit manus virorum bellantium, qui remanserunt in civitate hac, et manus universi populi loquens ad eos iuxta verba haec; siquidem homo iste non quaerit pacem populo huic sed malum ”.
4 (KAT) Vtedy kniežatá povedali kráľovi: „Nech usmrtia tohto človeka; veď takto len podlamuje odolnosť bojovníkov, ktorí v tomto meste zostali, aj odolnosť všetkého ľudu, keď im hovorí podobné reči. Veď tento človek nehľadá blaho tohto ľudu, ale len nešťastie.“
4 (UKJV) Therefore the princes said unto the king, We plead to you, let this man be put to death: for thus he weakens the hands of the men of war that remain in this city, and the hands of all the people, in speaking such words unto them: for this man seeks not the welfare of this people, but the hurt.

5 (HEM) ויאמר המלך צדקיהו הנה הוא בידכם כי אין המלך יוכל אתכם דבר׃
5 (VUL) Et dixit rex Sedecias: “ Ecce ipse in manibus vestris est; nequit enim rex vobis quidquam negare ”.
5 (KAT) Kráľ Sedekiáš im odpovedal: „Veď ho máte v rukách! A kráľ nemôže nič proti vám.“
5 (UKJV) Then Zedekiah the king said, Behold, he is in your hand: for the king is not he that can do any thing against you.

6 (HEM) ויקחו את ירמיהו וישלכו אתו אל הבור מלכיהו בן המלך אשר בחצר המטרה וישלחו את ירמיהו בחבלים ובבור אין מים כי אם טיט ויטבע ירמיהו בטיט׃
6 (VUL) Tulerunt ergo Ieremiam et proiecerunt eum in lacum Melchiae filii regis, qui erat in vestibulo custodiae. Et submiserunt Ieremiam funibus. Et in lacu non erat aqua sed lutum; descendit itaque Ieremias in caenum.
6 (KAT) Vzali teda Jeremiáša a hodili ho do cisterny kráľovho syna Melchiáša, ktorá bola v strážnom nádvorí. Jeremiáša spustili po povrazoch; v cisterne však nebola voda, ale iba blato, nuž Jeremiáš sa ponoril do bahna.
6 (UKJV) Then took they Jeremiah, and cast him into the dungeon of Malchiah the son of Hammelech, that was in the court of the prison: and they let down Jeremiah with cords. And in the dungeon there was no water, but mire: so Jeremiah sunk in the mire.

7 (HEM) וישמע עבד מלך הכושי איש סריס והוא בבית המלך כי נתנו את ירמיהו אל הבור והמלך יושב בשער בנימן׃
7 (VUL) Audivit autem Abdemelech Aethiops, vir eunuchus, qui erat in domo regis, quod misissent Ieremiam in lacum; porro rex sedebat in porta Beniamin.
7 (KAT) V kráľovskom dome zamestnaný eunuch, Etiópec Abdemelech, sa dopočul, že Jeremiáša spustili do cisterny. Kráľ práve sedel v Benjamínovej bráne.
7 (UKJV) "Now when Ebedmelech the Ethiopian, one of the eunuchs which was in the king's house, heard that they had put Jeremiah in the dungeon; the king then sitting in the gate of Benjamin; "

8 (HEM) ויצא עבד מלך מבית המלך וידבר אל המלך לאמר׃
8 (VUL) Et egressus est Abdemelech de domo regis et locutus est ad regem dicens:
8 (KAT) Keď Abdemelech vychádzal z kráľovského domu, oslovil kráľa:
8 (UKJV) Ebedmelech went forth out of the king's house, and spoke to the king saying,

9 (HEM) אדני המלך הרעו האנשים האלה את כל אשר עשו לירמיהו הנביא את אשר השליכו אל הבור וימת תחתיו מפני הרעב כי אין הלחם עוד בעיר׃
9 (VUL) “ Domine mi rex, malefecerunt viri isti omnia, quaecumque perpetrarunt contra Ieremiam prophetam, mittentes eum in lacum, ut moriatur ibi fame; non sunt enim panes ultra in civitate ”.
9 (KAT) „Pane môj, kráľu, zlo spáchali tí mužovia všetkým, čo urobili prorokovi Jeremiášovi, keď ho hodili do cisterny, aby tam dolu umrel od hladu, veď v meste už niet chleba!“
9 (UKJV) "My lord the king, these men have done evil in all that they have done to Jeremiah the prophet, whom they have cast into the dungeon; and he is like to die for hunger in the place where he is: for there is no more bread in the city. "

10 (HEM) ויצוה המלך את עבד מלך הכושי לאמר קח בידך מזה שלשים אנשים והעלית את ירמיהו הנביא מן הבור בטרם ימות׃
10 (VUL) Praecepit itaque rex Abdemelech Aethiopi dicens: “ Tolle tecum hinc triginta viros et leva Ieremiam prophetam de lacu, antequam moriatur ”.

10 (UKJV) Then the king commanded Ebedmelech the Ethiopian, saying, Take from behind thirty men with you, and take up Jeremiah the prophet out of the dungeon, before he die.

11 (HEM) ויקח עבד מלך את האנשים בידו ויבא בית המלך אל תחת האוצר ויקח משם בלוי הסחבות ובלוי מלחים וישלחם אל ירמיהו אל הבור בחבלים׃
11 (VUL) Assumptis ergo Abdemelech secum viris, ingressus est domum regis, in conclave, quod erat sub thesauro, et tulit inde pannos ex vestibus veteribus et scissis et submisit eos ad Ieremiam in lacum per funiculos.
11 (KAT) Abdemelech vzal teda so sebou chlapov, išiel do kráľovho domu do odevného skladu, vzal odtiaľ handry zo šiat a staré zdrapy a spustil ich po povrazoch Jeremiášovi do cisterny.
11 (UKJV) So Ebedmelech took the men with him, and went into the house of the king under the treasury, and took thence old cast clouts and old rotten rags, and let them down by cords into the dungeon to Jeremiah.

12 (HEM) ויאמר עבד מלך הכושי אל ירמיהו שים נא בלואי הסחבות והמלחים תחת אצלות ידיך מתחת לחבלים ויעש ירמיהו כן׃
12 (VUL) Dixitque Abdemelech Aethiops ad Ieremiam: “ Pone veteres pannos et haec scissa sub scapuli et postea funes ”. Fecit ergo Ieremias sic;
12 (KAT) Etiópec Abdemelech povedal Jeremiášovi: „Daj si tieto staré handry a zdrapy pod pazuchu pod povrazy!“ Jeremiáš urobil tak
12 (UKJV) And Ebedmelech the Ethiopian said unto Jeremiah, Put now these old cast clouts and rotten rags under your armholes under the cords. And Jeremiah did so.

13 (HEM) וימשכו את ירמיהו בחבלים ויעלו אתו מן הבור וישב ירמיהו בחצר המטרה׃
13 (VUL) et extraxerunt Ieremiam funibus et eduxerunt eum de lacu. Mansit autem Ieremias in vestibulo custodiae.
13 (KAT) a Jeremiáša vytiahli povrazmi a vyviedli ho z cisterny. Potom ostal Jeremiáš v strážnom nádvorí.
13 (UKJV) So they drew up Jeremiah with cords, and took him up out of the dungeon: and Jeremiah remained in the court of the prison.

14 (HEM) וישלח המלך צדקיהו ויקח את ירמיהו הנביא אליו אל מבוא השלישי אשר בבית יהוה ויאמר המלך אל ירמיהו שאל אני אתך דבר אל תכחד ממני דבר׃
14 (VUL) Et misit rex Sedecias et tulit ad se Ieremiam prophetam ad ostium tertium, quod erat in domo Domini; et dixit rex ad Ieremiam: “Interrogo ego te sermonem, ne abscondas a me aliquid ”.
14 (KAT) Kráľ Sedekiáš dal však Jeremiáša priviesť k sebe k tretiemu vchodu Pánovho domu a kráľ povedal Jeremiášovi: „Spýtam sa ťa čosi, nezataj predo mnou nič!“
14 (UKJV) "Then Zedekiah the king sent, and took Jeremiah the prophet unto him into the third entry that is in the house of the LORD: and the king said unto Jeremiah, I will ask you a thing; hide nothing from me. "

15 (HEM) ויאמר ירמיהו אל צדקיהו כי אגיד לך הלוא המת תמיתני וכי איעצך לא תשמע אלי׃
15 (VUL) Dixit autem Ieremias ad Sedeciam: “ Si annuntiavero tibi, numquid non interficies me? Et si consilium dedero tibi, non me audies ”.
15 (KAT) Jeremiáš odpovedal Sedekiášovi: „A nedáš ma usmrtiť, ak ti to poviem? A ak ti dám radu, nepočúvneš ma.“
15 (UKJV) Then Jeremiah said unto Zedekiah, If I declare it unto you, will you not surely put me to death? and if I give you counsel, will you not hearken unto me?

16 (HEM) וישבע המלך צדקיהו אל ירמיהו בסתר לאמר חי יהוה את אשר עשה לנו את הנפש הזאת אם אמיתך ואם אתנך ביד האנשים האלה אשר מבקשים את נפשך׃
16 (VUL) Iuravit ergo rex Sedecias Ieremiae clam dicens: “ Vivit Dominus, qui fecit nobis animam hanc, non occidam te et non tradam te in manu virorum istorum, qui quaerunt animam tuam ”.
16 (KAT) Sedekiáš sa teda tajne zaprisahal Jeremiášovi: „Ako žije Pán, ktorý nám dal tento život, nedám ťa usmrtiť ani ťa nedám do rúk mužov, ktorí ti číhajú na život.“
16 (UKJV) So Zedekiah the king swore secretly unto Jeremiah, saying, As the LORD lives, that made us this soul, I will not put you to death, neither will I give you into the hand of these men that seek your life.

17 (HEM) ויאמר ירמיהו אל צדקיהו כה אמר יהוה אלהי צבאות אלהי ישראל אם יצא תצא אל שרי מלך בבל וחיתה נפשך והעיר הזאת לא תשרף באש וחיתה אתה וביתך׃
17 (VUL) Et dixit Ieremias ad Sedeciam: “ Haec dicit Dominus exercituum, Deus Israel: Si profectus exieris ad principes regis Babylonis, vivet anima tua, et civitas haec non succendetur igni, et salvus eris tu et domus tua;
17 (KAT) Nato Jeremiáš povedal Sedekiášovi: „Toto hovorí Pán, Boh zástupov, Boh Izraela: Ak sa poddáš vojvodcom babylonského kráľa, zachrániš si život a toto mesto nevypália; budeš žiť ty i tvoj dom.
17 (UKJV) "Then said Jeremiah unto Zedekiah, Thus says the LORD, the God of hosts, the God of Israel; If you will assuredly go forth unto the king of Babylon's princes, then your soul shall live, and this city shall not be burned with fire; and you shall live, and your house: "

18 (HEM) ואם לא תצא אל שרי מלך בבל ונתנה העיר הזאת ביד הכשדים ושרפוה באש ואתה לא תמלט מידם׃
18 (VUL) si autem non exieris ad principes regis Babylonis, tradetur civitas haec in manu Chaldaeorum, et succendent eam igni, et tu non effugies de manu eorum ”.
18 (KAT) Ak sa však nepoddáš vojvodcom babylonského kráľa, toto mesto sa dostane do ruky Chaldejcov, vypália ho a ty sa nevyslobodíš z ich ruky.“
18 (UKJV) But if you will not go forth to the king of Babylon's princes, then shall this city be given into the hand of the Chaldeans, and they shall burn it with fire, and you shall not escape out of their hand.

19 (HEM) ויאמר המלך צדקיהו אל ירמיהו אני דאג את היהודים אשר נפלו אל הכשדים פן יתנו אתי בידם והתעללו בי׃
19 (VUL) Et dixit rex Sedecias ad Ieremiam: “ Sollicitus sum propter Iudaeos, qui transfugerunt ad Chaldaeos, ne forte tradar in manus eorum, et illudant mihi ”.
19 (KAT) Kráľ Sedekiáš odpovedal Jeremiášovi: „Mám starosti pre Júdovcov, ktorí prešli k Chaldejcom, aby ma nevydali do ich rúk; oni by ma znevážili.“
19 (UKJV) And Zedekiah the king said unto Jeremiah, I am afraid of the Jews that are fallen to the Chaldeans, lest they deliver me into their hand, and they mock me.

20 (HEM) ויאמר ירמיהו לא יתנו שמע נא בקול יהוה לאשר אני דבר אליך וייטב לך ותחי נפשך׃
20 (VUL) Respondit autem Ieremias: “ Non te tradent; audi, quaeso, vocem Domini, quam ego loquor ad te, et bene tibi erit, et vivet anima tua.
20 (KAT) Jeremiáš povedal: „Nevydajú! Počúvni Pánov hlas vo veci, o ktorej ti hovorím, bude sa ti dobre vodiť a ostaneš nažive.
20 (UKJV) But Jeremiah said, They shall not deliver you. Obey, I plead to you, the voice of the LORD, which I speak unto you: so it shall be well unto you, and your soul shall live.

21 (HEM) ואם מאן אתה לצאת זה הדבר אשר הראני יהוה׃
21 (VUL) Quod si nolueris egredi, iste est sermo, quem ostendit mihi Dominus:
21 (KAT) Ale ak sa budeš zdráhať prejsť, tak mi Pán zjavil toto:
21 (UKJV) But if you refuse to go forth, this is the word that the LORD has showed me:

22 (HEM) והנה כל הנשים אשר נשארו בבית מלך יהודה מוצאות אל שרי מלך בבל והנה אמרות הסיתוך ויכלו לך אנשי שלמך הטבעו בבץ רגלך נסגו אחור׃
22 (VUL) Ecce omnes mulieres, quae remanserunt in domo regis Iudae, educentur ad principes regis Babylonis et ipsae dicent: “Seduxerunt te et praevaluerunt adversum te viri pacifici tui; demersi sunt in caeno pedes tui, illi autem recesserunt a te”.
22 (KAT) Hľa, všetky ženy, ktoré ešte zostali v dome júdskeho kráľa, vyvedú k vojvodcom babylonského kráľa a samy budú hovoriť: »Zaviedli ťa a premohli ťa tvoji dôverní priatelia. Keď sa ti nohy zaborili do blata, ukázali ti chrbát.«
22 (UKJV) And, behold, all the women that are left in the king of Judah's house shall be brought forth to the king of Babylon's princes, and those women shall say, Your friends have set you on, and have prevailed against you: your feet are sunk in the mire, and they are turned away back.

23 (HEM) ואת כל נשיך ואת בניך מוצאים אל הכשדים ואתה לא תמלט מידם כי ביד מלך בבל תתפש ואת העיר הזאת תשרף באש׃
23 (VUL) Et omnes uxores tuae et filii tui educentur ad Chaldaeos, et non effugies manus eorum, sed in manu regis Babylonis capieris; et civitatem hanc comburet igni ”.
23 (KAT) Všetky tvoje ženy a tvojich synov vyvedú k Chaldejcom a ty sa nevyslobodíš z ich rúk, padneš do ruky babylonského kráľa a toto mesto vypália ohňom.“
23 (UKJV) So they shall bring out all your wives and your children to the Chaldeans: and you shall not escape out of their hand, but shall be taken by the hand of the king of Babylon: and you shall cause this city to be burned with fire.

24 (HEM) ויאמר צדקיהו אל ירמיהו איש אל ידע בדברים האלה ולא תמות׃
24 (VUL) Dixit ergo Sedecias ad Ieremiam: “ Nullus sciat verba haec, et non morieris.
24 (KAT) Nato Sedekiáš povedal Jeremiášovi: „Nech sa nik nedozvie o týchto veciach, vtedy nezomrieš.
24 (UKJV) Then said Zedekiah unto Jeremiah, Let no man know of these words, and you shall not die.

25 (HEM) וכי ישמעו השרים כי דברתי אתך ובאו אליך ואמרו אליך הגידה נא לנו מה דברת אל המלך אל תכחד ממנו ולא נמיתך ומה דבר אליך המלך׃
25 (VUL) Si autem audierint principes quia locutus sum tecum, et venerint ad te et dixerint tibi: “Indica nobis, quid locutus sis cum rege, ne celes nos, et non te interficiemus, et quid locutus est tecum rex”,
25 (KAT) Ak sa však kniežatá dozvedia, že som s tebou hovoril, a prídu k tebe a budú sa ťa spytovať: »Povedz nám, čo si vravel kráľovi i čo tebe povedal kráľ, nezataj to pred nami a neusmrtíme ťa«
25 (UKJV) "But if the princes hear that I have talked with you, and they come unto you, and say unto you, Declare unto us now what you have said unto the king, hide it not from us, and we will not put you to death; also what the king said unto you: "

26 (HEM) ואמרת אליהם מפיל אני תחנתי לפני המלך לבלתי השיבני בית יהונתן למות שם׃
26 (VUL) dices ad eos: “Prostravi ego preces meas coram rege, ne me reduci iuberet in domum Ionathan, et ibi morerer” ”.
26 (KAT) - odpovedz im: »Predložil som kráľovi svoju prosbu, aby ma neposlal naspäť do Jonatánovho domu, aby som tam neumrel.«“
26 (UKJV) Then you shall say unto them, I presented my supplication before the king, that he would not cause me to return to Jonathan's house, to die there.

27 (HEM) ויבאו כל השרים אל ירמיהו וישאלו אתו ויגד להם ככל הדברים האלה אשר צוה המלך ויחרשו ממנו כי לא נשמע הדבר׃
27 (VUL) Venerunt ergo omnes principes ad Ieremiam et interrogaverunt eum, et locutus est eis iuxta omnia verba, quae praeceperat ei rex; et cessaverunt ab eo: nihil enim fuerat auditum.
27 (KAT) A kniežatá prišli k Jeremiášovi a vypytovali sa ho a on im povedal všetko tak, ako mu rozkázal kráľ. Nechali ho teda na pokoji, vec sa totiž nerozchýrila.
27 (UKJV) "Then came all the princes unto Jeremiah, and asked him: and he told them according to all these words that the king had commanded. So they left off speaking with him; for the matter was not perceived. "

28 (HEM) וישב ירמיהו בחצר המטרה עד יום אשר נלכדה ירושלם והיה כאשר נלכדה ירושלם׃
28 (VUL) Mansit vero Ieremias in vestibulo custodiae usque ad diem, quo capta est Ierusalem. Et factum est ut caperetur Ierusalem.
28 (KAT) Jeremiáš však ostal v strážnom nádvorí až do dňa, keď sa zmocnili Jeruzalema. Keď zaujali Jeruzalem…
28 (UKJV) So Jeremiah abode in the court of the prison until the day that Jerusalem was taken: and he was there when Jerusalem was taken.
