1 (HEM) ויהי בשנה הרביעת ליהויקים בן יאשיהו מלך יהודה היה הדבר הזה אל ירמיהו מאת יהוה לאמר׃
1 (VUL) Et factum est in anno quarto Ioachim filii Iosiae regis Iudae, factum est verbum hoc ad Ieremiam a Domino dicens:
1 (KAT) Vo štvrtom roku júdskeho kráľa Joakima, syna Joziášovho, prehovoril Pán k Jeremiášovi toto slovo:
1 (UKJV) And it came to pass in the fourth year of Jehoiakim the son of Josiah king of Judah, that this word came unto Jeremiah from the LORD, saying,

2 (HEM) קח לך מגלת ספר וכתבת אליה את כל הדברים אשר דברתי אליך על ישראל ועל יהודה ועל כל הגוים מיום דברתי אליך מימי יאשיהו ועד היום הזה׃
2 (VUL) “ Tolle volumen libri et scribes in eo omnia verba, quae locutus sum tibi adversum Israel et Iudam et adversum omnes gentes a die qua locutus sum ad te ex diebus Iosiae usque ad diem hanc,
2 (KAT) „Vezmi si zvitkovú knihu a napíš do nej všetky slová, ktoré som ti hovoril o Izraeli, o Júdovi a o všetkých národoch odo dňa, čo som k tebe za čias Joziáša hovoril, až po dnešný deň.
2 (UKJV) Take you a roll of a book, and write therein all the words that I have spoken unto you against Israel, and against Judah, and against all the nations, from the day I spoke unto you, from the days of Josiah, even unto this day.

3 (HEM) אולי ישמעו בית יהודה את כל הרעה אשר אנכי חשב לעשות להם למען ישובו איש מדרכו הרעה וסלחתי לעונם ולחטאתם׃
3 (VUL) si forte, audiente domo Iudae universa mala, quae ego cogito facere eis, revertatur unusquisque a via sua pessima, et propitius ero iniquitati et peccato eorum ”.
3 (KAT) Hádam si dom Júdov povšimne rozličné nešťastia, ktorými ich zamýšľam postihnúť, takže sa odvráti každý od svojej zlej cesty a odpustím im ich vinu a ich hriech.“
3 (UKJV) "It may be that the house of Judah will hear all the evil which I purpose to do unto them; that they may return every man from his evil way; that I may forgive their iniquity and their sin. "

4 (HEM) ויקרא ירמיהו את ברוך בן נריה ויכתב ברוך מפי ירמיהו את כל דברי יהוה אשר דבר אליו על מגלת ספר׃
4 (VUL) Vocavit ergo Ieremias Baruch filium Neriae; et scripsit Baruch ex ore Ieremiae omnes sermones Domini, quos locutus est ad eum, in volumine libri.
4 (KAT) Jeremiáš teda zavolal Barucha, syna Nériho, a Baruch z Jeremiášových úst napísal do zvitkovej knihy všetky Pánove slová, ktoré mu hovoril.
4 (UKJV) Then Jeremiah called Baruch the son of Neriah: and Baruch wrote from the mouth of Jeremiah all the words of the LORD, which he had spoken unto him, upon a roll of a book.

5 (HEM) ויצוה ירמיהו את ברוך לאמר אני עצור לא אוכל לבוא בית יהוה׃
5 (VUL) Et praecepit Ieremias Baruch dicens: “ Ego impeditus sum nec valeo ingredi domum Domini.
5 (KAT) I prikázal Jeremiáš Baruchovi: „Ja som hatený, nemôžem ísť do Pánovho domu.
5 (UKJV) "And Jeremiah commanded Baruch, saying, I am shut up; I cannot go into the house of the LORD: "

6 (HEM) ובאת אתה וקראת במגלה אשר כתבת מפי את דברי יהוה באזני העם בית יהוה ביום צום וגם באזני כל יהודה הבאים מעריהם תקראם׃
6 (VUL) Ingredere ergo tu et lege de volumine, in quo scripsisti ex ore meo verba Domini, audiente populo in domo Domini, in die ieiunii; insuper et audiente universo Iuda, qui veniunt de civitatibus suis, leges eis,
6 (KAT) Choď teda ty a v Pánovom dome v pôstny deň čítaj do uší ľudu Pánove slová zo zvitku, ktorý si napísal z mojich úst; čítaj ich aj do uší všetkých Júdovcov, ktorí prídu zo svojich miest.
6 (UKJV) Therefore go you, and read in the roll, which you have written from my mouth, the words of the LORD in the ears of the people in the LORD's house upon the fasting day: and also you shall read them in the ears of all Judah that come out of their cities.

7 (HEM) אולי תפל תחנתם לפני יהוה וישבו איש מדרכו הרעה כי גדול האף והחמה אשר דבר יהוה אל העם הזה׃
7 (VUL) si forte cadat oratio eorum in conspectu Domini, et revertatur unusquisque a via sua pessima, quoniam magnus furor et indignatio est, quam locutus est Dominus adversus populum hunc ”.
7 (KAT) Hádam prenikne ich modlitba k Pánovi a odvráti sa každý od svojej zlej cesty. Lebo veľký je hnev a prchlivosť, ktorou Pán hrozil tomuto ľudu.“
7 (UKJV) It may be they will present their supplication before the LORD, and will return every one from his evil way: for great is the anger and the fury that the LORD has pronounced against this people.

8 (HEM) ויעש ברוך בן נריה ככל אשר צוהו ירמיהו הנביא לקרא בספר דברי יהוה בית יהוה׃
8 (VUL) Et fecit Baruch filius Neriae iuxta omnia, quae praeceperat ei Ieremias propheta, legens ex volumine sermones Domini in domo Domini.
8 (KAT) Baruch, syn Nériho, urobil všetko tak, ako mu rozkázal prorok Jeremiáš a čítal z knihy Pánove slová v Pánovom dome.
8 (UKJV) And Baruch the son of Neriah did according to all that Jeremiah the prophet commanded him, reading in the book the words of the LORD in the LORD's house.

9 (HEM) ויהי בשנה החמשית ליהויקים בן יאשיהו מלך יהודה בחדש התשעי קראו צום לפני יהוה כל העם בירושלם וכל העם הבאים מערי יהודה בירושלם׃
9 (VUL) Factum est autem in anno quinto Ioachim filii Iosiae regis Iudae, in mense nono, praedicaverunt ieiunium in conspectu Domini omni populo in Ierusalem et universae multitudini, quae confluxerat de civitatibus Iudae in Ierusalem.
9 (KAT) V piatom roku júdskeho kráľa Joakima, syna Joziášovho, v deviatom mesiaci vyhlásili pôst pred Pánom všetkému jeruzalemskému ľudu a všetkému ľudu, ktorý z júdskych miest prichádzal do Jeruzalema.
9 (UKJV) And it came to pass in the fifth year of Jehoiakim the son of Josiah king of Judah, in the ninth month, that they proclaimed a fast before the LORD to all the people in Jerusalem, and to all the people that came from the cities of Judah unto Jerusalem.

10 (HEM) ויקרא ברוך בספר את דברי ירמיהו בית יהוה בלשכת גמריהו בן שפן הספר בחצר העליון פתח שער בית יהוה החדש באזני כל העם׃
10 (VUL) Legitque Baruch ex volumine sermones Ieremiae in domo Domini, in exedra Gamariae filii Saphan scribae in vestibulo superiore, in introitu portae Novae domus Domini, audiente omni populo.
10 (KAT) Vtedy Baruch v Pánovom dome, v izbe Gamariáša, syna pisára Safana, v hornom nádvorí pri vchode Novej brány Pánovho domu čítal z knihy do uší všetkému ľudu Jeremiášove slová.
10 (UKJV) Then read Baruch in the book the words of Jeremiah in the house of the LORD, in the chamber of Gemariah the son of Shaphan the scribe, in the higher court, at the entry of the new gate of the LORD's house, in the ears of all the people.

11 (HEM) וישמע מכיהו בן גמריהו בן שפן את כל דברי יהוה מעל הספר׃
11 (VUL) Cumque audisset Michaeas filius Gamariae filii Saphan omnes sermones Domini ex libro,
11 (KAT) Všetky Pánove slová z knihy však počul Micheáš, syn Gamariáša, syna Safanovho.
11 (UKJV) When Michaiah the son of Gemariah, the son of Shaphan, had heard out of the book all the words of the LORD,

12 (HEM) וירד בית המלך על לשכת הספר והנה שם כל השרים יושבים אלישמע הספר ודליהו בן שמעיהו ואלנתן בן עכבור וגמריהו בן שפן וצדקיהו בן חנניהו וכל השרים׃
12 (VUL) descendit in domum regis ad exedram scribae; et ecce ibi omnes principes sedebant: Elisama scriba et Dalaias filius Semiae et Elnathan filius Achobor et Gamarias filius Saphan et Sedecias filius Hananiae et universi principes.
12 (KAT) Zostúpil teda do kráľovho domu, do pisárovej izby, kde práve zasadali všetky kniežatá: pisár Elisama, Semeiášov syn Dalaiáš, Achoborov syn Elnatán, Safanov syn Gamariáš, Hananiášov syn Sedekiáš a všetky kniežatá.
12 (UKJV) Then he went down into the king's house, into the scribe's chamber: and, lo, all the princes sat there, even Elishama the scribe, and Delaiah the son of Shemaiah, and Elnathan the son of Achbor, and Gemariah the son of Shaphan, and Zedekiah the son of Hananiah, and all the princes.

13 (HEM) ויגד להם מכיהו את כל הדברים אשר שמע בקרא ברוך בספר באזני העם׃
13 (VUL) Et nuntiavit eis Michaeas omnia verba, quae audivit, legente Baruch ex volumine in auribus populi.
13 (KAT) Micheáš im oznámil všetky reči, ktoré počul, keď ich Baruch čítal z knihy pred ľudom.
13 (UKJV) Then Michaiah declared unto them all the words that he had heard, when Baruch read the book in the ears of the people.

14 (HEM) וישלחו כל השרים אל ברוך את יהודי בן נתניהו בן שלמיהו בן כושי לאמר המגלה אשר קראת בה באזני העם קחנה בידך ולך ויקח ברוך בן נריהו את המגלה בידו ויבא אליהם׃
14 (VUL) Miserunt itaque omnes principes ad Baruch Iudi filium Nathaniae filii Selemiae filii Chusi dicentes: “ Volumen, ex quo legisti audiente populo, sume in manu tua et veni ”. Tulit ergo Baruch filius Neriae volumen in manu sua et venit ad eos.
14 (KAT) Vtedy kniežatá poslali k Baruchovi Júdiho, syna Nataniáša, syna Selemiáša, syna Chusiho, s odkazom: „Vezmi si do ruky zvitok, z ktorého si čítal ľudu, a príď!“ A Baruch, syn Nériho, vzal do ruky zvitok a išiel k nim.
14 (UKJV) Therefore all the princes sent Jehudi the son of Nethaniah, the son of Shelemiah, the son of Cushi, unto Baruch, saying, Take in your hand the roll wherein you have read in the ears of the people, and come. So Baruch the son of Neriah took the roll in his hand, and came unto them.

15 (HEM) ויאמרו אליו שב נא וקראנה באזנינו ויקרא ברוך באזניהם׃
15 (VUL) Et dixerunt ad eum: “ Sede et lege haec in auribus nostris ”; et legit Baruch in auribus eorum.
15 (KAT) I povedali mu: „Nože si sadni a čítaj pred nami!“ Nato Baruch čítal pred nimi.
15 (UKJV) And they said unto him, Sit down now, and read it in our ears. So Baruch read it in their ears.

16 (HEM) ויהי כשמעם את כל הדברים פחדו איש אל רעהו ויאמרו אל ברוך הגיד נגיד למלך את כל הדברים האלה׃
16 (VUL) Igitur cum audissent omnia verba, obstupuerunt unusquisque ad proximum suum; et dixerunt ad Baruch: “Nuntiare debemus regi omnes sermones istos”.
16 (KAT) Keď však počuli všetky reči, zarazení pozerali na seba a povedali Baruchovi: „Všetky tieto reči musíme oznámiť kráľovi.“
16 (UKJV) Now it came to pass, when they had heard all the words, they were afraid both one and the other, and said unto Baruch, We will surely tell the king of all these words.

17 (HEM) ואת ברוך שאלו לאמר הגד נא לנו איך כתבת את כל הדברים האלה מפיו׃
17 (VUL) Et interrogaverunt Baruch dicentes: “ Indica nobis, quomodo scripsisti omnes sermones istos ex ore eius ”.
17 (KAT) A vypytovali sa Barucha: „Povedz nám, ako si napísal z jeho úst všetky tieto slová?“
17 (UKJV) And they asked Baruch, saying, Tell us now, How did you write all these words at his mouth?

18 (HEM) ויאמר להם ברוך מפיו יקרא אלי את כל הדברים האלה ואני כתב על הספר בדיו׃
18 (VUL) Dixit autem eis Baruch: “ Ex ore suo loquebatur ad me omnes sermones istos, et ego scribebam in volumine atramento ”.
18 (KAT) Baruch im odpovedal: „Ústne mi hovoril všetky tieto slová a ja som písal atramentom do knihy.“
18 (UKJV) Then Baruch answered them, He pronounced all these words unto me with his mouth, and I wrote them with ink in the book.

19 (HEM) ויאמרו השרים אל ברוך לך הסתר אתה וירמיהו ואיש אל ידע איפה אתם׃
19 (VUL) Et dixerunt principes ad Baruch: “ Vade et abscondere, tu et Ieremias, et nemo sciat, ubi sitis ”.
19 (KAT) Vtedy kniežatá povedali Baruchovi: „Choď a schovaj sa aj ty, aj Jeremiáš; aby nik nevedel, kde ste.“
19 (UKJV) "Then said the princes unto Baruch, Go, hide you, you and Jeremiah; and let no man know where all of you be. "

20 (HEM) ויבאו אל המלך חצרה ואת המגלה הפקדו בלשכת אלישמע הספר ויגידו באזני המלך את כל הדברים׃
20 (VUL) Et ingressi sunt ad regem in atrium, porro volumen deposuerunt in exedra Elisamae scribae; et nuntiaverunt audiente rege omnes sermones.
20 (KAT) Potom vošli ku kráľovi do nádvoria, ale zvitok nechali v izbe pisára Elisamu, a všetko oznámili kráľovi.
20 (UKJV) And they went in to the king into the court, but they laid up the roll in the chamber of Elishama the scribe, and told all the words in the ears of the king.

21 (HEM) וישלח המלך את יהודי לקחת את המגלה ויקחה מלשכת אלישמע הספר ויקראה יהודי באזני המלך ובאזני כל השרים העמדים מעל המלך׃
21 (VUL) Misitque rex Iudi, ut sumeret volumen; qui, tollens illud de exedra Elisamae scribae, legit audiente rege et universis principibus, qui stabant circa regem.
21 (KAT) Kráľ poslal Júdiho, aby doniesol zvitok. Júdi ho doniesol z izby pisára Elisamu a čítal ho pred kráľom a pred všetkými kniežatami, ktoré stáli vedľa kráľa.
21 (UKJV) So the king sent Jehudi to fetch the roll: and he took it out of Elishama the scribe's chamber. And Jehudi read it in the ears of the king, and in the ears of all the princes which stood beside the king.

22 (HEM) והמלך יושב בית החרף בחדש התשיעי ואת האח לפניו מבערת׃
22 (VUL) Rex autem sedebat in domo hiemali in mense nono, et posita erat arula coram eo plena prunis;
22 (KAT) Kráľ však sedel v zimnom dome - bol deviaty mesiac - a pred ním bolo rozpálené ohnisko.
22 (UKJV) Now the king sat in the winter-house in the ninth month: and there was a fire on the hearth burning before him.

23 (HEM) ויהי כקרוא יהודי שלש דלתות וארבעה יקרעה בתער הספר והשלך אל האש אשר אל האח עד תם כל המגלה על האש אשר על האח׃
23 (VUL) cumque legisset Iudi tres pagellas vel quattuor, scidit eas scalpello scribae et proiecit in ignem, qui erat super arulam, donec consumeretur omne volumen igni, qui erat in arula.
23 (KAT) Keď Júdi prečítal tri alebo štyri stĺpce, odrezal ich pisárskym nožom a hodil na oheň, ktorý bol na ohnisku, kým celý zvitok nezhorel v ohni na ohnisku.
23 (UKJV) And it came to pass, that when Jehudi had read three or four leaves, he cut it with the penknife, and cast it into the fire that was on the hearth, until all the roll was consumed in the fire that was on the hearth.

24 (HEM) ולא פחדו ולא קרעו את בגדיהם המלך וכל עבדיו השמעים את כל הדברים האלה׃
24 (VUL) Et non timuerunt neque sciderunt vestimenta sua rex et omnes servi eius, qui audierunt universos sermones istos.
24 (KAT) Kráľ a všetci jeho služobníci, ktorí počúvali všetky tieto reči, sa teda nebáli a neroztrhli si rúcho.
24 (UKJV) Yet they were not afraid, nor rent their garments, neither the king, nor any of his servants that heard all these words.

25 (HEM) וגם אלנתן ודליהו וגמריהו הפגעו במלך לבלתי שרף את המגלה ולא שמע אליהם׃
25 (VUL) Verumtamen Elnathan et Dalaias et Gamarias instanter rogaverunt regem, ne combureret librum, et non audivit eos.
25 (KAT) Ba hoci Elnatán, Dalaiáš a Gamariáš naliehali na kráľa, aby zvitok nepálil, neposlúchol ich.
25 (UKJV) Nevertheless Elnathan and Delaiah and Gemariah had made intercession to the king that he would not burn the roll: but he would not hear them.

26 (HEM) ויצוה המלך את ירחמאל בן המלך ואת שריהו בן עזריאל ואת שלמיהו בן עבדאל לקחת את ברוך הספר ואת ירמיהו הנביא ויסתרם יהוה׃
26 (VUL) Et praecepit rex Ierameel filio regis et Saraiae filio Azriel et Selemiae filio Abdeel, ut comprehenderent Baruch scribam et Ieremiam prophetam; abscondit autem eos Dominus.
26 (KAT) A kráľ prikázal Jeremielovi, kráľovmu synovi, Saraiášovi, synovi Ezriela, a Selemiášovi, synovi Abdeela, aby chytili pisára Barucha a proroka Jeremiáša; ale Pán ich skryl.
26 (UKJV) But the king commanded Jerahmeel the son of Hammelech, and Seraiah the son of Azriel, and Shelemiah the son of Abdeel, to take Baruch the scribe and Jeremiah the prophet: but the LORD hid them.

27 (HEM) ויהי דבר יהוה אל ירמיהו אחרי שרף המלך את המגלה ואת הדברים אשר כתב ברוך מפי ירמיהו לאמר׃
27 (VUL) Et factum est verbum Domini ad Ieremiam, postquam combusserat rex volumen et sermones, quos scripserat Baruch ex ore Ieremiae, dicens:
27 (KAT) Keď kráľ spálil zvitok so slovami, ktoré z Jeremiášových úst napísal Baruch, prehovoril Pán k Jeremiášovi toto slovo:
27 (UKJV) Then the word of the LORD came to Jeremiah, after that the king had burned the roll, and the words which Baruch wrote at the mouth of Jeremiah, saying,

28 (HEM) שוב קח לך מגלה אחרת וכתב עליה את כל הדברים הראשנים אשר היו על המגלה הראשנה אשר שרף יהויקים מלך יהודה׃
28 (VUL) “Rursum tolle volumen aliud et scribe in eo omnes sermones priores, qui erant in primo volumine, quod combussit Ioachim rex Iudae.
28 (KAT) „Vezmi si zasa iný zvitok a napíš doň všetky predošlé slová z prvšieho zvitku, ktorý spálil júdsky kráľ Joakim.
28 (UKJV) Take you again another roll, and write in it all the former words that were in the first roll, which Jehoiakim the king of Judah has burned.

29 (HEM) ועל יהויקים מלך יהודה תאמר כה אמר יהוה אתה שרפת את המגלה הזאת לאמר מדוע כתבת עליה לאמר בא יבוא מלך בבל והשחית את הארץ הזאת והשבית ממנה אדם ובהמה׃
29 (VUL) Et super Ioachim regem Iudae dices: Haec dicit Dominus: Tu combussisti volumen illud dicens: “Quare scripsisti in eo annuntians: Certe veniet rex Babylonis et vastabit terram hanc et cessare faciet ex illa hominem et iumentum?”.
29 (KAT) Júdskemu kráľovi Joakimovi však povedz: Toto hovorí Pán: Ty si spálil ten zvitok s výčitkou: »Prečo si napísal doň slová: Určite príde babylonský kráľ, znivočí túto krajinu a odstráni z nej ľudí i zvieratá!?«
29 (UKJV) "And you shall say to Jehoiakim king of Judah, Thus says the LORD; You have burned this roll, saying, Why have you written therein, saying, The king of Babylon shall certainly come and destroy this land, and shall cause to cease from thence man and beast? "

30 (HEM) לכן כה אמר יהוה על יהויקים מלך יהודה לא יהיה לו יושב על כסא דוד ונבלתו תהיה משלכת לחרב ביום ולקרח בלילה׃
30 (VUL) Propterea haec dicit Dominus contra Ioachim regem Iudae: Non erit ex eo, qui sedeat super solium David, et cadaver eius proicietur ad aestum per diem et ad gelu per noctem;
30 (KAT) Nuž toto hovorí Pán júdskemu kráľovi Joakimovi: Nebude mať nikoho, kto by zasadol na Dávidov trón a jeho mŕtvolu vyhodia vo dne na horúčavu, v noci na mráz.
30 (UKJV) "Therefore thus says the LORD of Jehoiakim king of Judah; He shall have none to sit upon the throne of David: and his dead body shall be cast out in the day to the heat, and in the night to the frost. "

31 (HEM) ופקדתי עליו ועל זרעו ועל עבדיו את עונם והבאתי עליהם ועל ישבי ירושלם ואל איש יהודה את כל הרעה אשר דברתי אליהם ולא שמעו׃
31 (VUL) et visitabo contra eum et contra semen eius et contra servos eius iniquitates suas; et adducam super eos et super habitatores Ierusalem et super viros Iudae omne malum, quod locutus sum ad eos, et non audierunt ”.
31 (KAT) A strescem na ňom, na jeho potomstve i na jeho sluhoch ich hriech a dopustím na nich, na obyvateľov Jeruzalema a na mužov Júdska všetky nešťastia, ktorými som im hrozil, no nepočúvali.“
31 (UKJV) "And I will punish him and his seed and his servants for their iniquity; and I will bring upon them, and upon the inhabitants of Jerusalem, and upon the men of Judah, all the evil that I have pronounced against them; but they hearkened not. "

32 (HEM) וירמיהו לקח מגלה אחרת ויתנה אל ברוך בן נריהו הספר ויכתב עליה מפי ירמיהו את כל דברי הספר אשר שרף יהויקים מלך יהודה באש ועוד נוסף עליהם דברים רבים כהמה׃
32 (VUL) Ieremias autem tulit volumen aliud et dedit illud Baruch filio Neriae scribae; qui scripsit in eo ex ore Ieremiae omnes sermones libri, quem combusserat Ioachim rex Iudae igni; et insuper additi sunt multi sermones similes illis.
32 (KAT) Jeremiáš vzal teda iný zvitok a dal ho pisárovi Baruchovi, synovi Nériho, ktorý doň napísal z úst Jeremiáša všetky slová knihy, ktorú júdsky kráľ Joakim spálil na ohni, a ešte doložil mnohé podobné reči.
32 (UKJV) "Then took Jeremiah another roll, and gave it to Baruch the scribe, the son of Neriah; who wrote therein from the mouth of Jeremiah all the words of the book which Jehoiakim king of Judah had burned in the fire: and there were added besides unto them many like words. "
