Jer 35, 1-19

1 (CPDV) The word that came to Jeremiah from the Lord in the days of Jehoiakim, the son of Josiah, the king of Judah, saying:
1 (ROH) Slovo, ktoré sa stalo od Hospodina k Jeremiášovi vo dňoch Jehojakima, syna Joziášovho, judského kráľa, povediac:

2 (CPDV) “Go to the house of the Rechabites, and speak to them, and lead them into the house of the Lord, into one of the halls of the treasuries. And you shall give them wine to drink.”
2 (ROH) Iď do domu Rechabitov a budeš hovoriť s nimi a dovedieš ich do domu Hospodinovho do jednej z chýž a budeš im dávať piť víno.

3 (CPDV) And so I took Jaazaniah, the son of Jeremiah, the son of Habazziniah, and his brothers, and all his sons, and the entire house of the Rechabites,
3 (ROH) A tak som pojal Jazaniáša, syna Jeremiáša, syna Chabaciniášovho, i jeho bratov i všetkých jeho synov i všetok dom Rechabitov.

4 (CPDV) and I led them into the house of the Lord, to the treasury of the sons of Hanan, the son of Igdaliah, a man of God, which was near the treasury of the princes, above the storehouse of Maaseiah, the son of Shallum, who was the guardian of the entrance.
4 (ROH) A doviedol som ich do domu Hospodinovho, do chyže synov Chanána, syna Jigdaliášovho, muža Božieho, ktorá bola vedľa chyže kniežat, ktorá bola nad komorou Maaseiáša, syna Šallúmovho, strážcu prahu.

5 (CPDV) And I placed before the sons of the house of the Rechabites bowls filled with wine, and chalices. And I said to them, “Drink wine.”
5 (ROH) A postavil som pred synov domu Rechabitov žbánky, plné vína, a poháre a povedal som im: Pite víno!

6 (CPDV) And they responded: “We will not drink wine. For Jonadab, the son of Rechab, our father, instructed us, saying: ‘You shall not drink wine, you and your sons, in perpetuity.
6 (ROH) Ale oni riekli: Nepijeme vína. Lebo Jonadáb, syn Rechabov, náš otec, nám zakázal a povedal: Nebudete piť vína ani vy ani vaši synovia až na veky.

7 (CPDV) And you shall not build houses, and you shall not sow any seeds, and you shall not plant or have vineyards. Instead, you shall live in tents all your days, so that you may live many days upon the face of the earth, in which you are sojourners.’
7 (ROH) Ani nebudete staväť domu ani nebudete siať semena ani nebudete sadiť vinice ani ich nebudete mať, ale budete bývať v stánoch po všetky svoje dni, aby ste žili mnoho dní na tvári zeme, v ktorej pohostínite.

8 (CPDV) Therefore, we have obeyed the voice of Jonadab, the son of Rechab, our father, in all that he has commanded us, so that we do not drink wine all our days, we and our wives, our sons and daughters.
8 (ROH) A tak sme poslúchli hlas Jonadába, syna Rechabovho, svojho otca, vo všetkom, čo nám prikázal, totiž aby sme nepili vína po všetky svoje dni ani my ani naše ženy ani naši synovia ani naše dcéry

9 (CPDV) And we do not build houses in which to live. And we do not have vineyard, or field, or seed to sow.
9 (ROH) a aby sme nestaväli domov, aby sme v nich bývali, ani nemali ani vinice ani poľa ani semena,

10 (CPDV) Instead, we live in tents, and we have been obedient in accord with all that Jonadab, our father, has instructed us.

11 (CPDV) But when Nebuchadnezzar, the king of Babylon, had ascended to our land, we said: ‘Come and let us enter into Jerusalem, before the face of the army of the Chaldeans, and before the face of the army of Syria.’ And we have remained in Jerusalem.”
11 (ROH) A stalo sa, keď prišiel Nabuchodonozor, babylonský kráľ, hore do zeme, že sme povedali: Poďte a vojdime do Jeruzalema pred vojskom Chaldejov a pred vojskom Sýrov, a tak bývame v Jeruzaleme.

12 (CPDV) And the word of the Lord came to Jeremiah, saying:
12 (ROH) A stalo sa slovo Hospodinovo k Jeremiášovi povediac:

13 (CPDV) “Thus says the Lord of hosts, the God of Israel: Go, and say to the men of Judah and to the inhabitants of Jerusalem: Will you not accept discipline, so that you obey my words, says the 448 Lord?
13 (ROH) Takto hovorí Hospodin Zástupov, Bôh Izraelov: Iď a povieš mužom Júdovým a obyvateľom Jeruzalema: Či si nevezmete naučenia, aby ste počúvali na moje slová? hovorí Hospodin.

14 (CPDV) The words of Jonadab, the son of Rechab, in which he instructed his sons, so that they would not drink wine, have prevailed. And they have not drunk wine, even to this day. For they have obeyed the instruction of their father. But I have spoken to you, rising and speaking from early morning, and you did not obey me.
14 (ROH) Stoja slová Jonadába, syna Rechabovho, ktorý prikázal svojim synom, aby nepili vína, a nepili až do tohoto dňa, lebo poslúchajú prikázanie svojho otca.

15 (CPDV) And I have sent to you all my servants, the prophets, rising at first light, and sending, and saying: ‘Convert, each one from his wicked way, and make your intentions good. And do not choose to follow strange gods, nor shall you worship them. And then you shall live in the land which I gave to you and to your fathers.’ And yet you have not inclined your ear, and you have not heeded me.
15 (ROH) A posielal som k vám všetkých svojich služobníkov prorokov vstávajúc skoro za rána a posielajúc znova a znova a hovorím: Nože sa navráťte každý od svojej zlej cesty a robte tak, aby boly vaše skutky dobré, a nechoďte za inými bohmi, aby ste im slúžili, a bývajte v zemi, ktorú som dal vám i vašim otcom, ale nenaklonili ste svojho ucha ani nepočúvate na mňa.

16 (CPDV) So the sons of Jonadab, the son of Rechab, have remained firm in the commandment of their father, which he instructed to them, while this people has not been obedient to me.

17 (CPDV) For this reason, thus says the Lord of hosts, the God of Israel: Behold, I will lead over Judah and over all the inhabitants of Jerusalem, every evil that I have declared against them. For I have spoken to them, and they have not listened. I have called to them, and they have not responded to me.”

18 (CPDV) Then Jeremiah said to the house of the Rechabites: “Thus says the Lord of hosts, the God of Israel: Because you have obeyed the commandment of Jonadab, your father, and have kept all his precepts, and have done all that he has instructed you,
18 (ROH) A domu Rechabitov povedal Jeremiáš: Takto hovorí Hospodin Zástupov, Bôh Izraelov: Preto, že poslúchate prikázanie Jonadába, svojho otca, a ostríhate všetky jeho prikázania a robíte všetko tak, ako vám to prikázal,

19 (CPDV) because of this, thus says the Lord of hosts, the God of Israel: There will not be a man lacking from the stock of Jonadab, the son of Rechab, standing in my sight, for all days.”
19 (ROH) preto takto hovorí Hospodin Zástupov, Bôh Izraelov: Nebude vyťatý muž Jonadábovi, synovi Rechabovmu, ktorý by stál pred mojou tvárou, po všetky dni.

Jer 35, 1-19

Verš 14
The words of Jonadab, the son of Rechab, in which he instructed his sons, so that they would not drink wine, have prevailed. And they have not drunk wine, even to this day. For they have obeyed the instruction of their father. But I have spoken to you, rising and speaking from early morning, and you did not obey me.
Jer 11:7 - For when testing, I tested your fathers in the day when I led them away from the land of Egypt, even until this day. Rising early, I tested them, and I said: Listen to my voice.
Jer 25:3 - “From the thirteenth year of Josiah, the son of Amon, the king of Judah, even until this day, which is the twenty-third year, the word of the Lord has been given to me, and I have spoken to you, rising while it was still night, and speaking, and yet you have not listened.
Jer 26:5 - so that you listen to the words of my servants, the prophets, whom I have sent to you, who arise while it is still night, and though they give guidance, you do not listen,
Jer 29:19 - For they have not listened to my words, says the Lord, which I sent to them through my servants, the prophets, rising while it was still night, and sending. But you have not listened, says the Lord.
Jer 32:33 - And they have turned their backs to me, and not their faces. And though I taught them and instructed them, rising at first light, they were not willing to listen, so that they would receive discipline.

Verš 15
And I have sent to you all my servants, the prophets, rising at first light, and sending, and saying: ‘Convert, each one from his wicked way, and make your intentions good. And do not choose to follow strange gods, nor shall you worship them. And then you shall live in the land which I gave to you and to your fathers.’ And yet you have not inclined your ear, and you have not heeded me.
Jer 18:11 - Now, therefore, speak to the men of Judah and to the inhabitants of Jerusalem, saying: Thus says the Lord: Behold, I am forming an evil against you, and I am considering a plan against you. Let each one of you return from his evil way, and direct your ways and your intentions well.”
Jer 25:5 - when he said: Return, each one from his evil way, and from your wicked thoughts. And you shall dwell in the land, which the Lord has given to you and to your fathers, from ancient times and even forever.

Jer 35,2 - Zvyky a životosprávu Rechabovcov nám najpresnejšie opisuje Jeremiáš v tejto stati.
