Jer 21, 1-14

1 (CPDV) The word that came to Jeremiah from the Lord, when king Zedekiah sent Pashhur, the son of Malchiah, and Zephaniah, the son of Maaseiah, the priest, to him, saying:
1 (ROH) Slovo, ktoré sa stalo k Jeremiášovi od Hospodina vtedy, keď poslal k nemu kráľ Cedekiáš Pašchúra, syna Malkiášovho, a Cefaniáša, syna Maaseiášovho, kňaza, povediac:

2 (CPDV) “Question the Lord on our behalf, for Nebuchadnezzar, the king of Babylon, is fighting against us. Perhaps it may be that the Lord will act toward us according to all his wonders, and he may withdraw from us.”
2 (ROH) Nože sa opýtaj za nás Hospodina, lebo Nabuchodonozor, babylonský kráľ, bojuje proti nám: či snáď neučiní s nami Hospodin podľa všetkých svojich divov, a odíde od nás hore.

3 (CPDV) And Jeremiah said to them: “This is what you shall say to Zedekiah:
3 (ROH) A Jeremiáš im riekol: Takto poviete Cedekiášovi:

4 (CPDV) Thus says the Lord, the God of Israel: Behold, I will turn back the weapons of war that are in your hands, with which you fight against the king of Babylon and the Chaldeans, who besiege you at the surrounding walls. And I will gather these things together in the midst of this city.
4 (ROH) Takto hovorí Hospodin, Bôh Izraelov: Hľa, zvrtnem vojenné nástroje, ktoré sú vo vašich rukách, ktorými bojujete proti babylonskému kráľovi a proti Chaldejom, ktorí vás obliehajú zvonku za múrom, a shromaždím ich doprostred tohoto mesta.

5 (CPDV) And I myself will make war against you: with an outstretched hand, and with a strong arm, and in fury, and in indignation, and in great wrath.
5 (ROH) A je budem bojovať proti vám vystretou rukou a silným ramenom, a v hneve, v prchlivosti a vo veľkom vzteku.

6 (CPDV) And I will strike the inhabitants of this city; men and beasts will die from a great pestilence.
6 (ROH) A zbijem obyvateľov tohoto mesta, a to jako človeka tak i hovädo; pomrú velikým morom.

7 (CPDV) And afterward, thus says the Lord: I will give Zedekiah, the king of Judah, and his servants, and his people, and those who have been left behind in this city after pestilence and the sword and famine, into the hand of Nebuchadnezzar, the king of Babylon, and into the hand of their enemies, and into the hand of those who seek their lives. And he will strike them with the edge of the sword. And he will not waver, and he will not be lenient, and he will not take pity.
7 (ROH) A potom, hovorí Hospodin, vydám Cedekiáša, judského kráľa, i jeho služobníkov i ľud i tých, ktorí pozostanú v tomto meste po more, po meči a po hlade, do ruky Nabuchodonozora, babylonského kráľa, a do ruky ich nepriateľov a do ruky tých, ktorí hľadajú ich dušu, a pobije ich ostrím meča; nezľutuje sa nad nimi ani nebude šetriť ani sa nezmiluje.

8 (CPDV) And to this people, you shall say: Thus says the Lord: Behold, I set before you the way of life and the way of death.
8 (ROH) A tomuto ľudu povieš: Takto hovorí Hospodin: Hľa, kladiem pred vás cestu života a cestu smrti.

9 (CPDV) Whoever lives in this city will die by the sword, and by famine, and by pestilence. But whoever will have departed and fled away to the Chaldeans, who besiege you, will live, and his life will be to him like a spoil.

10 (CPDV) For I have set my face against this city for evil, and not for good, says the Lord. It will be given into the hand of the king of Babylon, and he will burn it with fire.
Bude vydané do ruky babylonského kráľa, a spáli ho ohňom.

11 (CPDV) And to the house of the king of Judah, you shall say: Listen to the word of the Lord,
11 (ROH) A čo sa týka domu judského kráľa, počujte slovo Hospodinovo!

12 (CPDV) O house of David! Thus says the Lord: Judge with judgment from early morning, and rescue anyone who is oppressed by violence from the hand of a false accuser. Otherwise, my indignation may go forth like a fire, and may flare up, and there will be no one who can extinguish it, because of the evil of your intentions.
12 (ROH) Dome Dávidov, takto hovorí Hospodin: Súďte súd za rána a vytrhnite olupovaného z ruky utlačovateľa, aby nevyšla moja prchlivosť ako oheň a nehorela, a nebolo by toho, kto by uhasil, pre nešľachetnosť vašich skutkov!

13 (CPDV) Behold, I am against you, O inhabitants of a valley with firm and level ground, says the Lord. And you say: ‘Who can strike us? And who can enter into our houses?’
13 (ROH) Hľa, prijdem na teba, obyvateľko údolia, skaly na rovine, hovorí Hospodin, na vás, ktorí hovoríte: Kto sostúpi na nás, a kto vojde do našich príbytkov?

14 (CPDV) But I will visit against you according to the fruit of your intentions, says the Lord. And I will kindle a fire in its forest. And it shall devour everything around it.”

Jer 21, 1-14

Verš 9
Whoever lives in this city will die by the sword, and by famine, and by pestilence. But whoever will have departed and fled away to the Chaldeans, who besiege you, will live, and his life will be to him like a spoil.
Jer 38:2 - “Thus says the Lord: Whoever will remain in this city will die by the sword, and by famine, and by pestilence. But whoever will flee away from the Chaldeans, will live, and his soul will dwell in safety.

Verš 12
O house of David! Thus says the Lord: Judge with judgment from early morning, and rescue anyone who is oppressed by violence from the hand of a false accuser. Otherwise, my indignation may go forth like a fire, and may flare up, and there will be no one who can extinguish it, because of the evil of your intentions.
Jer 22:3 - Thus says the Lord: Exercise judgment and justice, and free anyone who is oppressed by violence from the hand of a false accuser. And do not be willing to sadden the new arrival, or the orphan, or the widow, nor should you burden them unfairly. And you shall not shed innocent blood in this place.

Verš 14
But I will visit against you according to the fruit of your intentions, says the Lord. And I will kindle a fire in its forest. And it shall devour everything around it.”
Jer 17:27 - But if you will not listen to me, to sanctify the day of the Sabbath, and not to carry burdens, and not to bring these things through the gates of Jerusalem on the day of the Sabbath, then I will kindle a fire at its gates, and it will devour the houses of Jerusalem, and it will not be extinguished.”

Jer 21,1 - O Sedekiášovi a Nabuchodonozorovi pozri úvod k nášmu prorokovi.
