1 (UKJV) "The sin of Judah is written with a pen of iron, and with the point of a diamond: it is graven upon the table of their heart, and upon the horns of your altars; "
1 (ROH) Hriech Júdov je napísaný železným perom, diamantovým rydlom tvrdým; je vyrytý na tabuli ich srdca a na rohy vašich oltárov.
2 (UKJV) Whilst their children remember their altars and their groves by the green trees upon the high hills.
2 (ROH) Ako sa rozpomínajú na svojich synov, tak sa rozpomínajú na svoje oltáre a na svoje Astarty pri zelenom strome, na vysokých pahorkoch.
3 (UKJV) O my mountain in the field, I will give your substance and all your treasures to the spoil, and your high places for sin, throughout all your borders.
3 (ROH) Môj vrchu na poli, tvoje imanie i všetky tvoje poklady vydám ta, aby ich rozchvátali, tvoje výšiny za hriech, vo všetkých tvojich končinách.
4 (UKJV) "And you, even yourself, shall discontinue from your heritage that I gave you; and I will cause you to serve your enemies in the land which you know not: for all of you have kindled a fire in mine anger, which shall burn for ever. "
4 (ROH) A tak vypadneš, a to pre svoju vlastnú vinu, zo svojho dedičstva, ktoré som ti bol dal, a spôsobím to, že budeš slúžiť svojim nepriateľom v zemi, ktorej neznáš, lebo ste zanietili oheň v mojom hneve, ktorý bude horieť až na veky.
5 (UKJV) "Thus says the LORD; Cursed be the man that trusts in man, and makes flesh his arm, and whose heart departs from the LORD. "
5 (ROH) Takto hovorí Hospodin: Zlorečený muž, ktorý sa nadeje na človeka a kladie telo za svoje rameno, a jeho srdce odstupuje od Hospodina!
6 (UKJV) "For he shall be like the heath in the desert, and shall not see when good comes; but shall inhabit the parched places in the wilderness, in a salt land and not inhabited. "
6 (ROH) A bude jako vres na púšti a neuvidí, keď prijde dobré, ale bude obývať vypálené miesta na púšti, slatinnú zem a takú, v ktorej sa nebýva.
7 (UKJV) Blessed is the man that trusts in the LORD, and whose hope the LORD is.
7 (ROH) Požehnaný muž, ktorý sa nadeje na Hospodina a ktorého nádejou je Hospodin!
8 (UKJV) "For he shall be as a tree planted by the waters, and that spreads out her roots by the river, and shall not see when heat comes, but her leaf shall be green; and shall not be careful in the year of drought, neither shall cease from yielding fruit. "
8 (ROH) A bude jako strom, zasadený nad vodami, a ktorý zapustil svoje korene nad riekou; nebude sa báť, keď prijde horúčava, ale jeho list bude zelený, ani sa nebude starať v suchý rok ani neprestane rodiť ovocie.
9 (UKJV) The heart is deceitful above all things, and desperately wicked: who can know it?
9 (ROH) Najľstivejšie od všetkého je srdce a je neduživé na smrť. Kto ho pozná?!
10 (UKJV) I the LORD search the heart, I try the reins, even to give every man according to his ways, and according to the fruit of his doings.
10 (ROH) Ja Hospodin zpytujem srdce a zkúšam ľadviny, nato, aby som dal každému podľa jeho cesty, podľa ovocia jeho skutkov.
11 (UKJV) "As the partridge sits on eggs, and hatches them not; so he that gets riches, and not by right, shall leave them in the midst of his days, and at his end shall be a fool. "
11 (ROH) Jarabica škrečiac svolava a nesniesla, tak ten, kto nadobúda bohatstva a nie na spravedlivý spôsob: v polovici jeho dní ho opustí, a na koniec bude z neho blázon.
12 (UKJV) A glorious high throne from the beginning is the place of our sanctuary.
12 (ROH) Stolicou slávy, výsosťou od počiatku je miesto našej svätyne!
13 (UKJV) O LORD, the hope of Israel, all that forsake you shall be ashamed, and they that depart from me shall be written in the earth, because they have forsaken the LORD, the fountain of living waters.
13 (ROH) Nádejou Izraelovou je Hospodin. Hanbiť sa budú všetci, ktorí ťa opúšťajú! Tí, ktorí odstupujú odo mňa, budú zapísaní v zemi, pretože opustili prameň vody života, Hospodina.-
14 (UKJV) "Heal me, O LORD, and I shall be healed; save me, and I shall be saved: for you are my praise. "
14 (ROH) Uzdrav ma, Hospodine, a budem uzdravený; zachráň ma, a budem zachránený, lebo ty si mojou chválou.
15 (UKJV) Behold, they say unto me, Where is the word of the LORD? let it come now.
15 (ROH) Hľa, oni mi hovoria: Kdeže je to slovo Hospodinovo? Nože nech prijde!
16 (UKJV) "As for me, I have not hastened from being a pastor to follow you: neither have I desired the woeful day; you know: that which came out of my lips was right before you. "
16 (ROH) Ale ja, neutiahol som sa, aby som nebol pastierom a neišiel za tebou, ani som si nežiadal dňa bolesti, ty to vieš. To, čo vyšlo z mojich úst, je pred tvojou tvárou.
17 (UKJV) Be not a terror unto me: you are my hope in the day of evil.
17 (ROH) Nebuď mi na zdesenie, lebo veď ty si mojím útočišťom v deň zlého.
18 (UKJV) Let them be confounded that persecute me, but let not me be confounded: let them be dismayed, but let not me be dismayed: bring upon them the day of evil, and destroy them with double destruction.
18 (ROH) Nech sa hanbia tí, ktorí ma prenasledujú, a nech sa nehanbím ja; nech sa oni desia, a nech sa nedesím ja. Uveď na nich deň zlého a skrúš ich dvojnásobným skrúšením.
19 (UKJV) "Thus said the LORD unto me; Go and stand in the gate of the children of the people, whereby the kings of Judah come in, and by the which they go out, and in all the gates of Jerusalem; "
19 (ROH) Takto mi povedal Hospodin: Iď a postav sa v bráne synov ľudu, ktorou vchádzavajú kráľovia Júdovi a ktorou vychádzavajú, a vo všetkých bránach Jeruzalema.
20 (UKJV) And say unto them, Hear all of you the word of the LORD, all of you kings of Judah, and all Judah, and all the inhabitants of Jerusalem, that enter in by these gates:
20 (ROH) A povieš im: Počujte slovo Hospodinovo, kráľovia Júdovi i celý Júda i všetci obyvatelia Jeruzalema, ktorí vchádzavate týmito bránami!
21 (UKJV) "Thus says the LORD; Take heed to yourselves, and bear no burden on the sabbath day, nor bring it in by the gates of Jerusalem; "
21 (ROH) Takto hovorí Hospodin: Vystríhajte sa pre svoje duše a nenoste bremena v sobotný deň ani nevnášajte bránami Jeruzalema!
22 (UKJV) Neither carry forth a burden out of your houses on the sabbath day, neither do all of you any work, but hallow all of you the sabbath day, as I commanded your fathers.
22 (ROH) Ani nevynášajte bremena zo svojich domov v sobotný deň ani nekonajte nijakej práce, ale budete svätiť sobotný deň tak, ako som prikázal vašim otcom.
23 (UKJV) But they obeyed not, neither inclined their ear, but made their neck stiff, that they might not hear, nor receive instruction.
23 (ROH) Avšak neposlúchli ani nenaklonili svojho ucha, ale zatvrdili svoju šiju, aby nepočuli a aby neprijali naučenia.
24 (UKJV) "And it shall come to pass, if all of you diligently hearken unto me, says the LORD, to bring in no burden through the gates of this city on the sabbath day, but hallow the sabbath day, to do no work therein; "
24 (ROH) Ale stane sa, ak budete naozaj počúvať na mňa, hovorí Hospodin, aby ste nevnášali bremena bránami tohoto mesta v sobotný deň a aby ste svätili sobotný deň, tak aby ste nekonali v ňom nijakej práce,
25 (UKJV) Then shall there enter into the gates of this city kings and princes sitting upon the throne of David, riding in chariots and on horses, they, and their princes, the men of Judah, and the inhabitants of Jerusalem: and this city shall remain for ever.
25 (ROH) že budú vchádzať bránami tohoto mesta kráľovia i kniežatá, ktorí budú sedieť na stolici Dávidovej voziac sa na vozoch a nosiac sa na koňoch, oni aj ich kniežatá, mužovia Júdovi a obyvatelia Jeruzalema, a toto mesto bude stáť na veky.
26 (UKJV) And they shall come from the cities of Judah, and from the places about Jerusalem, and from the land of Benjamin, and from the plain, and from the mountains, and from the south, bringing burnt offerings, and sacrifices, and food offerings, and incense, and bringing sacrifices of praise, unto the house of the LORD.
26 (ROH) A budú prichádzať ľudia z miest Júdových a z okolia Jeruzalema i zo zeme Benjaminovej, z roviny a z pohoria i z juhu donášajúc zápalnú obeť a bitnú obeť, obilný dar a kadivo, jako aj tí, ktorí budú donášať obeti chvály do domu Hospodinovho.
27 (UKJV) "But if all of you will not hearken unto me to hallow the sabbath day, and not to bear a burden, even entering in at the gates of Jerusalem on the sabbath day; then will I kindle a fire in the gates thereof, and it shall devour the palaces of Jerusalem, and it shall not be quenched. "
27 (ROH) Ale ak nebudete počúvať na mňa, aby ste svätili sobotný deň a aby ste nenosili bremena a nevchádzali bránami Jeruzalema v sobotný deň, vtedy zanietim oheň v jeho bránach, ktorý požerie paláce Jeruzalema a nezhasne.

Verš 1
"The sin of Judah is written with a pen of iron, and with the point of a diamond: it is graven upon the table of their heart, and upon the horns of your altars; "
Jer 11:13 - "For according to the number of your cities were your gods, O Judah; and according to the number of the streets of Jerusalem have all of you set up altars to that shameful thing, even altars to burn incense unto Baal. "
Verš 2
Whilst their children remember their altars and their groves by the green trees upon the high hills.
Jer 2:20 - "For of old time I have broken your yoke, and burst your bands; and you said, I will not transgress; when upon every high hill and under every green tree you wander, playing the harlot. "
Verš 3
O my mountain in the field, I will give your substance and all your treasures to the spoil, and your high places for sin, throughout all your borders.
Jer 15:13 - Your substance and your treasures will I give to the spoil without price, and that for all your sins, even in all your borders.
Verš 4
"And you, even yourself, shall discontinue from your heritage that I gave you; and I will cause you to serve your enemies in the land which you know not: for all of you have kindled a fire in mine anger, which shall burn for ever. "
Dt 28:68 - And the LORD shall bring you into Egypt again with ships, by the way whereof I spoke unto you, You shall see it no more again: and there all of you shall be sold unto your enemies for bondmen and bondwomen, and no man shall buy you.
Jer 16:13 - "Therefore will I cast you out of this land into a land that all of you know not, neither all of you nor your fathers; and there shall all of you serve other gods day and night; where I will not show you favour. "
Jer 15:14 - And I will make you to pass with your enemies into a land which you know not: for a fire is kindled in mine anger, which shall burn upon you.

Blessed is the man that trusts in the LORD, and whose hope the LORD is.
Ž 2:12 - Kiss the Son, lest he be angry, and all of you perish from the way, when his wrath is kindled but a little. Blessed are all they that put their trust in him.
Ž 34:8 - O taste and see that the LORD is good: blessed is the man that trusts in him.
Prís 16:20 - He that handles a matter wisely shall find good: and whoso trusts in the LORD, happy is he.
Iz 30:18 - And therefore will the LORD wait, that he may be gracious unto you, and therefore will he be exalted, that he may have mercy upon you: for the LORD is a God of judgment: blessed are all they that wait for him.

Ž 1:3 - "And he shall be like a tree planted by the rivers of water, that brings forth his fruit in his season; his leaf also shall not wither; and whatsoever he does shall prosper. "
Verš 10
I the LORD search the heart, I try the reins, even to give every man according to his ways, and according to the fruit of his doings.
1Sam 16:7 - "But the LORD said unto Samuel, Look not on his countenance, or on the height of his stature; because I have refused him: for the LORD sees not as man sees; for man looks on the outward appearance, but the LORD looks on the heart. "
Ž 7:9 - "Oh let the wickedness of the wicked come to an end; but establish the just: for the righteous God tries the hearts and reins. "
Verš 13
O LORD, the hope of Israel, all that forsake you shall be ashamed, and they that depart from me shall be written in the earth, because they have forsaken the LORD, the fountain of living waters.
Ž 73:27 - For, lo, they that are far from you shall perish: you have destroyed all them that go a whoring from you.
Iz 1:28 - And the destruction of the transgressors and of the sinners shall be together, and they that forsake the LORD shall be consumed.
Jer 2:13 - "For my people have committed two evils; they have forsaken me the fountain of living waters, and hewed them out cisterns, broken cisterns, that can hold no water. "
Verš 15
Behold, they say unto me, Where is the word of the LORD? let it come now.
Iz 5:19 - That say, Let him make speed, and hasten his work, that we may see it: and let the counsel of the Holy One of Israel draw nigh and come, that we may know it!
2Pt 3:4 - And saying, Where is the promise of his coming? for since the fathers fell asleep, all things continue as they were from the beginning of the creation.
Verš 17
Be not a terror unto me: you are my hope in the day of evil.
Jer 16:19 - O LORD, my strength, and my fortress, and my refuge in the day of affliction, the Gentiles shall come unto you from the ends of the earth, and shall say, Surely our fathers have inherited lies, vanity, and things wherein there is no profit.
Verš 18
Let them be confounded that persecute me, but let not me be confounded: let them be dismayed, but let not me be dismayed: bring upon them the day of evil, and destroy them with double destruction.
Ž 35:4 - Let them be confounded and put to shame that seek after my soul: let them be turned back and brought to confusion that devise my hurt.
Ž 40:14 - "Let them be ashamed and confounded together that seek after my soul to destroy it; let them be driven backward and put to shame that wish me evil. "
Jer 15:15 - "O LORD, you know: remember me, and visit me, and revenge me of my persecutors; take me not away in your longsuffering: know that for your sake I have suffered rebuke. "
Verš 21
"Thus says the LORD; Take heed to yourselves, and bear no burden on the sabbath day, nor bring it in by the gates of Jerusalem; "
Neh 13:19 - And it came to pass, that when the gates of Jerusalem began to be dark before the sabbath, I commanded that the gates should be shut, and charged that they should not be opened till after the sabbath: and some of my servants set I at the gates, that there should no burden be brought in on the sabbath day.
Verš 22
Neither carry forth a burden out of your houses on the sabbath day, neither do all of you any work, but hallow all of you the sabbath day, as I commanded your fathers.
Ex 20:8 - Remember the sabbath day, to keep it holy.
Ex 23:12 - Six days you shall do your work, and on the seventh day you shall rest: that your ox and your ass may rest, and the son of your handmaid, and the stranger, may be refreshed.
Ex 31:13 - "Speak you also unto the children of Israel, saying, Verily my sabbaths all of you shall keep: for it is a sign between me and you throughout your generations; that all of you may know that I am the LORD that does sanctify you. "
Ez 20:12 - Moreover also I gave them my sabbaths, to be a sign between me and them, that they might know that I am the LORD that sanctify them.
Verš 23

Jer 11:10 - "They are turned back to the iniquities of their forefathers, which refused to hear my words; and they went after other gods to serve them: the house of Israel and the house of Judah have broken my covenant which I made with their fathers. "
Jer 13:10 - This evil people, which refuse to hear my words, which walk in the imagination of their heart, and walk after other gods, to serve them, and to worship them, shall even be as this girdle, which is good for nothing.
Jer 16:12 - "And all of you have done worse than your fathers; for, behold, all of you walk every one after the imagination of his evil heart, that they may not hearken unto me: "
Verš 25
Then shall there enter into the gates of this city kings and princes sitting upon the throne of David, riding in chariots and on horses, they, and their princes, the men of Judah, and the inhabitants of Jerusalem: and this city shall remain for ever.
Jer 22:4 - For if all of you do this thing indeed, then shall there enter in by the gates of this house kings sitting upon the throne of David, riding in chariots and on horses, he, and his servants, and his people.
Jer 17,1 - Svedkom modloslužby Izraelitov je ich vlastné svedomie, okrem toho aj oltáre a svätyne rozličných modiel, na ktoré sa ešte aj synovia pamätajú. O ašerách pozri pozn. k Iz 17,8.
Jer 17,3 - Porov. 15,13 n.
Jer 17,4 - Dedičstvo bola zasľúbená zem.
Jer 17,5 - Miesto "oporou" má osnova doslovne: "ramenom". Rameno je symbolom moci a opory, telo zase symbolom slabosti.
Jer 17,6 - Strom na púšti hynie; tak sa nedožije šťastia ani človek, ktorý nezakotvil v Pánovi.
Jer 17,8 - K celej tejto stati porov. Ž 1.
Jer 17,9 - Porov. 11,20.
Jer 17,16 - Keďže sa stať veršov 13-18 užíva v liturgii, prekladáme ju podľa Vulg.Verš znie v pôvodine správne:"Ja však som nenaliehal na teba pre zlo,ani som netúžil po dni nešťastia.Ty vieš, čo vychádza z úst mojich,je pred tvárou tvojou."Rozumej: "Nenaliehal som, aby si splnil výstrahy svoje, nečakal som netrpezlivo, kedy už zastihne národ pohroma, preto si robia zo mňa nepriatelia posmech (verš 15). Ty predsa vieš o každom mojom slove."- Preklad Vulg zakladá sa na mylnom čítaní.
Jer 17,18 - Pozri pozn. k 11,20.
Jer 17,25 - Slovo v zátvorkách nepatrí do osnovy.
