Kniha proroka Jeremiáša

1 (UKJV) Thus says the LORD unto me, Go and get you a linen girdle, and put it upon your loins, and put it not in water.
1 (LS) Ainsi m'a parlé l'Eternel: Va, achète-toi une ceinture de lin, et mets-la sur tes reins; mais ne la trempe pas dans l'eau.

2 (UKJV) So I got a girdle according to the word of the LORD, and put it on my loins.
2 (LS) J'achetai la ceinture, selon la parole de l'Eternel, et je la mis sur mes reins.

3 (UKJV) And the word of the LORD came unto me the second time, saying,
3 (LS) La parole de l'Eternel me fut adressée une seconde fois, en ces mots:

4 (UKJV) Take the girdle that you have got, which is upon your loins, and arise, go to Euphrates, and hide it there in a hole of the rock.
4 (LS) Prends la ceinture que tu as achetée, et qui est sur tes reins; lève-toi, va vers l'Euphrate, et là, cache-la dans la fente d'un rocher.

5 (UKJV) So I went, and hid it by Euphrates, as the LORD commanded me.
5 (LS) J'allai, et je la cachai près de l'Euphrate, comme l'Eternel me l'avait ordonné.

6 (UKJV) And it came to pass after many days, that the LORD said unto me, Arise, go to Euphrates, and take the girdle from thence, which I commanded you to hide there.
6 (LS) Plusieurs jours après, l'Eternel me dit: Lève-toi, va vers l'Euphrate, et là, prends la ceinture que je t'avais ordonné d'y cacher.

7 (UKJV) Then I went to Euphrates, and dug, and took the girdle from the place where I had hid it: and, behold, the girdle was ruined, it was profitable for nothing.
7 (LS) J'allai vers l'Euphrate, je fouillai, et je pris la ceinture dans le lieu où je l'avais cachée; mais voici, la ceinture était gâtée, elle n'était plus bonne à rien.

8 (UKJV) Then the word of the LORD came unto me, saying,
8 (LS) La parole de l'Eternel me fut adressée, en ces mots:

9 (UKJV) Thus says the LORD, After this manner will I ruin the pride of Judah, and the great pride of Jerusalem.
9 (LS) Ainsi parle l'Eternel: C'est ainsi que je détruirai l'orgueil de Juda Et l'orgueil immense de Jérusalem.

10 (UKJV) This evil people, which refuse to hear my words, which walk in the imagination of their heart, and walk after other gods, to serve them, and to worship them, shall even be as this girdle, which is good for nothing.
10 (LS) Ce méchant peuple, qui refuse d'écouter mes paroles, Qui suit les penchants de son coeur, Et qui va après d'autres dieux, Pour les servir et se prosterner devant eux, Qu'il devienne comme cette ceinture, Qui n'est plus bonne à rien!

11 (UKJV) "For as the girdle cleaves to the loins of a man, so have I caused to cleave unto me the whole house of Israel and the whole house of Judah, says the LORD; that they might be unto me for a people, and for a name, and for a praise, and for a glory: but they would not hear. "
11 (LS) Car comme on attache la ceinture aux reins d'un homme, Ainsi je m'étais attaché toute la maison d'Israël Et toute la maison de Juda, dit l'Eternel, Afin qu'elles fussent mon peuple, Mon nom, ma louange, et ma gloire. Mais ils ne m'ont point écouté.

12 (UKJV) "Therefore you shall speak unto them this word; Thus says the LORD God of Israel, Every bottle shall be filled with wine: and they shall say unto you, Do we not certainly know that every bottle shall be filled with wine? "
12 (LS) Tu leur diras cette parole: Ainsi parle l'Eternel, le Dieu d'Israël: Tous les vases seront remplis de vin. Et ils te diront: Ne savons-nous pas Que tous les vases seront remplis de vin?

13 (UKJV) Then shall you say unto them, Thus says the LORD, Behold, I will fill all the inhabitants of this land, even the kings that sit upon David's throne, and the priests, and the prophets, and all the inhabitants of Jerusalem, with drunkenness.
13 (LS) Alors dis-leur: Ainsi parle l'Eternel: Voici, je remplirai tous les habitants de ce pays, Les rois qui sont assis sur le trône de David, Les sacrificateurs, les prophètes, et tous les habitants de Jérusalem, Je les remplirai d'ivresse.

14 (UKJV) And I will dash them one against another, even the fathers and the sons together, says the LORD: I will not pity, nor spare, nor have mercy, but destroy them.
14 (LS) Je les briserai les uns contre les autres, Les pères et les fils ensemble, dit l'Eternel; Je n'épargnerai pas, je n'aurai point de pitié, point de miséricorde, Rien ne m'empêchera de les détruire.

15 (UKJV) "Hear all of you, and give ear; be not proud: for the LORD has spoken. "
15 (LS) Ecoutez et prêtez l'oreille! Ne soyez point orgueilleux! Car l'Eternel parle.

16 (UKJV) Give glory to the LORD your God, before he cause darkness, and before your feet stumble upon the dark mountains, and, while all of you look for light, he turn it into the shadow of death, and make it gross darkness.
16 (LS) Rendez gloire à l'Eternel, votre Dieu, Avant qu'il fasse venir les ténèbres, Avant que vos pieds heurtent contre les montagnes de la nuit; Vous attendrez la lumière, Et il la changera en ombre de la mort, Il la réduira en obscurité profonde.

17 (UKJV) "But if all of you will not hear it, my soul shall weep in secret places for your pride; and mine eye shall weep sore, and run down with tears, because the LORD's flock is carried away captive. "
17 (LS) Si vous n'écoutez pas, Je pleurerai en secret, à cause de votre orgueil; Mes yeux fondront en larmes, Parce que le troupeau de l'Eternel sera emmené captif.

18 (UKJV) Say unto the king and to the queen, Humble yourselves, sit down: for your principalities shall come down, even the crown of your glory.
18 (LS) Dis au roi et à la reine: Asseyez-vous à terre! Car il est tombé de vos têtes, Le diadème qui vous servait d'ornement.

19 (UKJV) The cities of the south shall be shut up, and none shall open them: Judah shall be carried away captive all of it, it shall be wholly carried away captive.
19 (LS) Les villes du midi sont fermées, Il n'y a personne pour ouvrir; Tout Juda est emmené captif, Il est emmené tout entier captif.

20 (UKJV) Lift up your eyes, and behold them that come from the north: where is the flock that was given you, your beautiful flock?
20 (LS) Lève tes yeux et regarde Ceux qui viennent du septentrion. Où est le troupeau qui t'avait été donné, Le troupeau qui faisait ta gloire?

21 (UKJV) What will you say when he shall punish you? for you have taught them to be captains, and as chief over you: shall not sorrows take you, as a woman in travail?
21 (LS) Que diras-tu de ce qu'il te châtie? C'est toi-même qui leur as appris à te traiter en maîtres. Les douleurs ne te saisiront-elles pas, Comme elles saisissent une femme en travail?

22 (UKJV) And if you say in your heart, Wherefore come these things upon me? For the greatness of your iniquity are your skirts discovered, and your heels made bare.
22 (LS) Si tu dis en ton coeur: Pourquoi cela m'arrive-t-il? C'est à cause de la multitude de tes iniquités Que les pans de tes habits sont relevés, Et que tes talons sont violemment mis à nu.

23 (UKJV) Can the Ethiopian change his skin, or the leopard his spots? then may all of you also do good, that are accustomed to do evil.
23 (LS) Un Ethiopien peut-il changer sa peau, Et un léopard ses taches? De même, pourriez-vous faire le bien, Vous qui êtes accoutumés à faire le mal?

24 (UKJV) Therefore will I scatter them as the stubble that passes away by the wind of the wilderness.
24 (LS) Je les disperserai, comme la paille emportée Par le vent du désert.

25 (UKJV) "This is your lot, the portion of your measures from me, says the LORD; because you have forgotten me, and trusted in falsehood. "
25 (LS) Voilà ton sort, la part que je te mesure, Dit l'Eternel, Parce que tu m'as oublié, Et que tu as mis ta confiance dans le mensonge.

26 (UKJV) Therefore will I discover your skirts upon your face, that your shame may appear.
26 (LS) Je relèverai tes pans jusque sur ton visage, Afin qu'on voie ta honte.

27 (UKJV) I have seen your adulteries, and your neighings, the lewdness of your whoredom, and your abominations on the hills in the fields. Woe unto you, O Jerusalem! will you not be made clean? when shall it once be?
27 (LS) J'ai vu tes adultères et tes hennissements, Tes criminelles prostitutions sur les collines et dans les champs, J'ai vu tes abominations. Malheur à toi, Jérusalem! Jusques à quand tarderas-tu à te purifier?
