Kniha proroka Jeremiáša

1 (HEM) צדיק אתה יהוה כי אריב אליך אך משפטים אדבר אותך מדוע דרך רשעים צלחה שלו כל בגדי בגד׃
1 (UKJV) Righteous are you, O LORD, when I plead with you: yet let me talk with you of your judgments: Wherefore does the way of the wicked prosper? wherefore are all they happy that deal very treacherously?

2 (HEM) נטעתם גם שרשו ילכו גם עשו פרי קרוב אתה בפיהם ורחוק מכליותיהם׃
2 (UKJV) You have planted them, yea, they have taken root: they grow, yea, they bring forth fruit: you are near in their mouth, and far from their reins.

3 (HEM) ואתה יהוה ידעתני תראני ובחנת לבי אתך התקם כצאן לטבחה והקדשם ליום הרגה׃
3 (UKJV) But you, O LORD, know me: you have seen me, and tried mine heart toward you: pull them out like sheep for the slaughter, and prepare them for the day of slaughter.

4 (HEM) עד מתי תאבל הארץ ועשב כל השדה ייבש מרעת ישבי בה ספתה בהמות ועוף כי אמרו לא יראה את אחריתנו׃
4 (UKJV) "How long shall the land mourn, and the herbs of every field wither, for the wickedness of them that dwell therein? the beasts are consumed, and the birds; because they said, He shall not see our last end. "

5 (HEM) כי את רגלים רצתה וילאוך ואיך תתחרה את הסוסים ובארץ שלום אתה בוטח ואיך תעשה בגאון הירדן׃
5 (UKJV) If you have run with the footmen, and they have wearied you, then how can you contend with horses? and if in the land of peace, wherein you trusted, they wearied you, then how will you do in the swelling of Jordan?

6 (HEM) כי גם אחיך ובית אביך גם המה בגדו בך גם המה קראו אחריך מלא אל תאמן בם כי ידברו אליך טובות׃
6 (UKJV) "For even your brethren, and the house of your father, even they have dealt treacherously with you; yea, they have called a multitude after you: believe them not, though they speak fair words unto you. "

7 (HEM) עזבתי את ביתי נטשתי את נחלתי נתתי את ידדות נפשי בכף איביה׃
7 (UKJV) "I have forsaken mine house, I have left mine heritage; I have given the dearly beloved of my soul into the hand of her enemies. "

8 (HEM) היתה לי נחלתי כאריה ביער נתנה עלי בקולה על כן שנאתיה׃
8 (UKJV) "Mine heritage is unto me as a lion in the forest; it cries out against me: therefore have I hated it. "

9 (HEM) העיט צבוע נחלתי לי העיט סביב עליה לכו אספו כל חית השדה התיו לאכלה׃
9 (UKJV) "Mine heritage is unto me as a speckled bird, the birds round about are against her; come all of you, assemble all the beasts of the field, come to devour. "

10 (HEM) רעים רבים שחתו כרמי בססו את חלקתי נתנו את חלקת חמדתי למדבר שממה׃
10 (UKJV) Many pastors have destroyed my vineyard, they have trodden my portion under foot, they have made my pleasant portion a desolate wilderness.

11 (HEM) שמה לשממה אבלה עלי שממה נשמה כל הארץ כי אין איש שם על לב׃
11 (UKJV) "They have made it desolate, and being desolate it mourns unto me; the whole land is made desolate, because no man lays it to heart. "

12 (HEM) על כל שפים במדבר באו שדדים כי חרב ליהוה אכלה מקצה ארץ ועד קצה הארץ אין שלום לכל בשר׃
12 (UKJV) The spoilers are come upon all high places through the wilderness: for the sword of the LORD shall devour from the one end of the land even to the other end of the land: no flesh shall have peace.

13 (HEM) זרעו חטים וקצים קצרו נחלו לא יועלו ובשו מתבואתיכם מחרון אף יהוה׃
13 (UKJV) They have sown wheat, but shall reap thorns: they have put themselves to pain, but shall not profit: and they shall be ashamed of your revenues because of the fierce anger of the LORD.

14 (HEM) כה אמר יהוה על כל שכני הרעים הנגעים בנחלה אשר הנחלתי את עמי את ישראל הנני נתשם מעל אדמתם ואת בית יהודה אתוש מתוכם׃
14 (UKJV) "Thus says the LORD against all mine evil neighbours, that touch the inheritance which I have caused my people Israel to inherit; Behold, I will pluck them out of their land, and pluck out the house of Judah from among them. "

15 (HEM) והיה אחרי נתשי אותם אשוב ורחמתים והשבתים איש לנחלתו ואיש לארצו׃
15 (UKJV) And it shall come to pass, after that I have plucked them out I will return, and have compassion on them, and will bring them again, every man to his heritage, and every man to his land.

16 (HEM) והיה אם למד ילמדו את דרכי עמי להשבע בשמי חי יהוה כאשר למדו את עמי להשבע בבעל ונבנו בתוך עמי׃
16 (UKJV) "And it shall come to pass, if they will diligently learn the ways of my people, to swear by my name, The LORD lives; as they taught my people to swear by Baal; then shall they be built in the midst of my people. "

17 (HEM) ואם לא ישמעו ונתשתי את הגוי ההוא נתוש ואבד נאם יהוה׃
17 (UKJV) But if they will not obey, I will utterly pluck up and destroy that nation, says the LORD.
