1 (HEM) שמעו את הדבר אשר דבר יהוה עליכם בית ישראל׃
1 (UKJV) Hear all of you the word which the LORD speaks unto you, O house of Israel:

2 (HEM) כה אמר יהוה אל דרך הגוים אל תלמדו ומאתות השמים אל תחתו כי יחתו הגוים מהמה׃
2 (UKJV) "Thus says the LORD, Learn not the way of the heathen, and be not dismayed at the signs of heaven; for the heathen are dismayed at them. "

3 (HEM) כי חקות העמים הבל הוא כי עץ מיער כרתו מעשה ידי חרש במעצד׃
3 (UKJV) For the customs of the people are vain: for one cuts a tree out of the forest, the work of the hands of the workman, with the axe.

4 (HEM) בכסף ובזהב ייפהו במסמרות ובמקבות יחזקום ולוא יפיק׃
4 (UKJV) "They deck it with silver and with gold; they fasten it with nails and with hammers, that it move not. "

5 (HEM) כתמר מקשה המה ולא ידברו נשוא ינשוא כי לא יצעדו אל תיראו מהם כי לא ירעו וגם היטיב אין אותם׃
5 (UKJV) "They are upright as the palm tree, but speak not: they must essentially be borne, because they cannot go. Be not afraid of them; for they cannot do evil, neither also is it in them to do good. "

6 (HEM) מאין כמוך יהוה גדול אתה וגדול שמך בגבורה׃
6 (UKJV) "Forasmuch as there is none like unto you, O LORD; you are great, and your name is great in might. "

7 (HEM) מי לא יראך מלך הגוים כי לך יאתה כי בכל חכמי הגוים ובכל מלכותם מאין כמוך׃
7 (UKJV) Who would not fear you, O King of nations? in order to you does it appertain: forasmuch as among all the wise men of the nations, and in all their kingdoms, there is none like unto you.

8 (HEM) ובאחת יבערו ויכסלו מוסר הבלים עץ הוא׃
8 (UKJV) But they are altogether brutish and foolish: the stock is a doctrine of vanities.

9 (HEM) כסף מרקע מתרשיש יובא וזהב מאופז מעשה חרש וידי צורף תכלת וארגמן לבושם מעשה חכמים כלם׃
9 (UKJV) Silver spread into plates is brought from Tarshish, and gold from Uphaz, the work of the workman, and of the hands of the founder: blue and purple is their clothing: they are all the work of cunning men.

10 (HEM) ויהוה אלהים אמת הוא אלהים חיים ומלך עולם מקצפו תרעש הארץ ולא יכלו גוים זעמו׃
10 (UKJV) But the LORD is the true God, he is the living God, and an everlasting king: at his wrath the earth shall tremble, and the nations shall not be able to abide his indignation.

11 (HEM) כדנה תאמרון להום אלהיא די שמיא וארקא לא עבדו יאבדו מארעא ומן תחות שמיא אלה׃
11 (UKJV) Thus shall all of you say unto them, The gods that have not made the heavens and the earth, even they shall perish from the earth, and from under these heavens.

12 (HEM) עשה ארץ בכחו מכין תבל בחכמתו ובתבונתו נטה שמים׃
12 (UKJV) He has made the earth by his power, he has established the world by his wisdom, and has stretched out the heavens by his discretion.

13 (HEM) לקול תתו המון מים בשמים ויעלה נשאים מקצה ארץ ברקים למטר עשה ויוצא רוח מאצרתיו׃
13 (UKJV) "When he utters his voice, there is a multitude of waters in the heavens, and he causes the vapours to ascend from the ends of the earth; he makes lightnings with rain, and brings forth the wind out of his treasures. "

14 (HEM) נבער כל אדם מדעת הביש כל צורף מפסל כי שקר נסכו ולא רוח בם׃
14 (UKJV) Every man is brutish in his knowledge: every founder is confounded by the graven image: for his molten image is falsehood, and there is no breath in them.

15 (HEM) הבל המה מעשה תעתעים בעת פקדתם יאבדו׃
15 (UKJV) They are vanity, and the work of errors: in the time of their visitation they shall perish.

16 (HEM) לא כאלה חלק יעקב כי יוצר הכל הוא וישראל שבט נחלתו יהוה צבאות שמו׃
16 (UKJV) "The portion of Jacob is not like them: for he is the former of all things; and Israel is the rod of his inheritance: The LORD of hosts is his name. "

17 (HEM) אספי מארץ כנעתך ישבתי במצור׃
17 (UKJV) Gather up your wares out of the land, O inhabitant of the fortress.

18 (HEM) כי כה אמר יהוה הנני קולע את יושבי הארץ בפעם הזאת והצרותי להם למען ימצאו׃
18 (UKJV) For thus says the LORD, Behold, I will sling out the inhabitants of the land at this once, and will distress them, that they may find it so.

19 (HEM) אוי לי על שברי נחלה מכתי ואני אמרתי אך זה חלי ואשאנו׃
19 (UKJV) "Woe is me for my hurt! my wound is grievous; but I said, Truly this is a grief, and I must bear it. "

20 (HEM) אהלי שדד וכל מיתרי נתקו בני יצאני ואינם אין נטה עוד אהלי ומקים יריעותי׃
20 (UKJV) My tabernacle is spoiled, and all my cords are broken: my children are gone out of me, and they are not: there is none to stretch forth my tent any more, and to set up my curtains.

21 (HEM) כי נבערו הרעים ואת יהוה לא דרשו על כן לא השכילו וכל מרעיתם נפוצה׃
21 (UKJV) For the pastors are become brutish, and have not sought the LORD: therefore they shall not prosper, and all their flocks shall be scattered.

22 (HEM) קול שמועה הנה באה ורעש גדול מארץ צפון לשום את ערי יהודה שממה מעון תנים׃
22 (UKJV) Behold, the noise of the bruit has come, and a great commotion out of the north country, to make the cities of Judah desolate, and a den of dragons.

23 (HEM) ידעתי יהוה כי לא לאדם דרכו לא לאיש הלך והכין את צעדו׃
23 (UKJV) O LORD, I know that the way of man is not in himself: it is not in man that walks to direct his steps.

24 (HEM) יסרני יהוה אך במשפט אל באפך פן תמעטני׃
24 (UKJV) "O LORD, correct me, but with judgment; not in your anger, lest you bring me to nothing. "

25 (HEM) שפך חמתך על הגוים אשר לא ידעוך ועל משפחות אשר בשמך לא קראו כי אכלו את יעקב ואכלהו ויכלהו ואת נוהו השמו׃
25 (UKJV) Pour out your fury upon the heathen that know you not, and upon the families that call not on your name: for they have eaten up Jacob, and devoured him, and consumed him, and have made his habitation desolate.
